The spirit of man is the innermost part of man, the life within him, the very life he lives, his life and destiny. It is the principle of life in man. It gives us a consciousness of God and of the realm of the spirit. Through our spirit we access the spiritual realm the same way you access the natural realm through your body. The senses of the body is eyes, nose, tongue, ears and skin, but that of the spirit is called knowing, whenever you say 'I know, I just know,' that's spirit sensitivity, no sensation is involved. For those who are born again, their conscience becomes active, this is the first step towards hearing God by believer, learning to listen to the conscience, because the conscience is purely spiritual and does not depend on reasoning or thoughts, once you reason or analyse about it it is no longer conscience or the 'I know.' The Holy Spirit uses a spirit that is lively, not apart from God, to draw the man to the things of God, it draws and drags the man, it pulls him to seek the things of God and shows him through the knowing to judge rightly what he shoud or should not do or say. Ask that the Holy Spirit should show you what is of the spirit and what is of the soul.

The soul is the man, the main center where man decides and chooses. It is the center of man's intellect and personaliy. In the soul, man reasons, in the spirit is spontaneous revelations without the mind pulling any strings. The soul gives man consciousness of himself. You simply reason to know if you are dressing properly for the appointment or not, you recognise the difference between mosquito bite and a pinch, you differentiate colours, and even recognise odours. In the soul, man feels his emotions and know what he is feeling, maybe happy, sad, remorse, satisfaction, fear, love, hate, and so on. Our self is in the soul, this is the part of us that makes us rescue ourselves, focus on ourselves, seek our own pleasure, be overly conscious of our physical life. The self in the soul is what we are told to yield to cross, if the self does not surrender, the Holy Spirit would not work the cross into us deeply.

-The believer may be full of information yet his mind may not be renewed. Mind renewal is only possible when we surrender our ideas and yield to the teachings of the Holy Spirit.

-Thinking is of the mind, while meditation is of the spirit. For a believer to journey from thinking to meditation he must exercise patience and repetition until he is carried along by the Holy Spirit.

-In other religions, they exercise blank minds and call it meditation, but we believers dwell gently, inwardly and continuously on the scripture the Lord presents to us, we call this meditation.

In the above passage, Jesus Christ makes clear that it is only by living your life in continuous submission and obedience to His teachings and commanding that you are truly His and are set free from slavery to sin. There is no indication that you first require the Spirit of God in order to become a holy acceptable vessel for the Holy Spirit to live on the inside of.

4. I am afraid you have it twisted backward. You must first become a holy/perfect vessel of God — a son of God— before the Holy Spirit can then live on the inside of you to lead you to do works of righteousness.

5. What does it mean to obey God? It means pretty much the same thing it does to obey my mother, my boss at work, or a friend, only that with God, I have to wholly trust Him when I obey Him — not second guess Him by having some sort of backup plan for the event of failure. So, if you feel this is too much for you to do, then God is not what you want at all.

If righteousness was by anything we do then we do not need Christ, but we receive his righteousness and we live it, Paul could say, "it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me." It's a life completely led and guided by the Holy Spirit. In man's fallen state, he does not have the ability to stop sinning, his willfulness may appear to be doing the job but this only goes as deep as shallow.

Abraham was able to obey God without first knowing who God was. God said in His Old Law that in order to know Him one must first Obey Him. Jesus Christ also said that he loves only those who obey Him so can you have Jesus Christ if you have no faith, to begin with? Can the Holy Spirit, the same Spirit of Truth who lived inside of Jesus Christ live on the inside of one who does not obey God, one who is Unholy and filthy in the sight of God?

Do we receive the Holy Spirit by works or by faith? How is it that it is my strength that qualifies me for receiving the Holy Spirit? Don't I need the Holy Spirit to be righteous? How come I must be righteous to receive the Holy Spirit that is supposed to make me righteous? Have you been obeying God by your strength or zeal to obey his commands?

The Path is the Law! Those who live by faith are those who live their lives in continuous submission and obedience to the teachings and commandments of God. That is what God has always told you from the beginning. It was true for Abel, for Abraham - Genesis 26 vs 1 - 6 - the man whom God called His friend for his faithfulness. And it is the same mandate from Jesus Christ who makes it abundantly clear in His Law to us that only those who live their lives in continuous submission and obedience to His teachings and commandments love Him - John 14 vs 15 - 20 - and His friends are those who do as He says - John 15 vs 14 .

It takes the Holy Spirit to live by faith, not commandments.
