Loveme23:There is no angel under the sun as far as relationships are concerned. For you to get the "Mr. Perfect", I guess those type are only available in the cementaries! Long lasting relationship are built from the scratch and are not just plucked from the shelve but it seems what you want is the ready made stuff. With your above post, it is obvious you are wasting your time without knowing. For your information, those folks too would have seen the greed in you and must have decided to treat you like tissue paper to be used and dumped. If you want to learn from your own experience, you will know that the guy you dumped 30 months ago is no longer the same guy today. He probably has grown, he has improved and most likely arrived. Meanwhile you must have sacked him when he looked unsuitable to your warped standard at that time. The earlier you sit up and pray to God for contentment the better. So long, no harm is meant, just being thruithful. |
Blackspade, Its been a yearsince this post started. We will liek to have an update on the current situtation of the dream Kaduna City. what is the reality on ground today. We want to know. Please we are waiting. |
The book "SOS" in the bible is in no way ungodly. The perception is due to the misunderstanding of the passages therein by many and also, people tend to read cultural meanings to it. By cultural, I mean, we tend to relate with the passages with our own cultural believes. In most areas of our part of the world - Africa, it is like a taboo to talk about sexuality. Most people can bear me out. Most parents don't talk about it. Most parent call the privates funny names rather than say what the names really are. Any parent on this forum who has taught his/her "about to wed" child how to perform the sexual act should come out to confirm please. It is still a "no go area" Over time, we have grown to see anyone discussing these issues as unholy, unfortunately, we have included the bible as well, but the we cannot be holier than God. The bible is God's words and it is a complete book of life. It is a manual for his creation, so it is complete. Some sections are specific on what not to do, what to do, etc as far as issues of relationship are concerned. See Lev. 18 for example. Most parts of that passage are telling of "what not to do" while most part of the SOS are on "how to do". It may also assit our understanding if we read some other passages in the Bible to get the real meanings of some of the sayings in SOS. For example, read Proverbs 5:15 -20. We all know what a "cistern" is. It later went further in verse 19 to tell the meaning of the proverb - "19 Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love" This does not make the Bible book of Proverbs ungodly. Hope this adds to the body of our knowledge here. |

fellabrims, thanks for the compliments. It is just an idea. They come in crude form, it is left for ur friend to refine it, sell it to him/herself (if she is in broadcasting) or sell it to colleagues in Broadcasting. cheers. |
Hi Olamipopo, Kindly help me check the VIN of the vehicle with this number: JM3LW2891Y0160058 Thanks. |
Hi Suala/Poster, I congratulate you on the job you got at CoolFM through Nairalanders' assistance. I love the phrase "success is never ending, failure is never final". In drawing from this, is it possible you do some small talkshow on nairaland; you could call the show: "Visiting the underground: the good, the bad and the ugly". You could, as part of the fun of the programme call on some good contributors on topical issue on Nairaland to feature on your programme. It helps you, it helps nairaland, it, obviously will help your radio station. Everyone wins. This could help you make positive and challenging differences from the "established "old order" of radio broadcasting. I bet your programme will be a hit amongst youths! Hoping that the positive aspects of this suggestion would be appreciated. This is how most of the big names in the developed world got there. I have sold you the idea, how you nurture it is up to you. Good luck. |
Rather than attacking the person of Okoya, I would advise we see the good in what he has suggested. Learning french language will help Nigerians. As the world is going global, there is a high demand for professionals who are bi-lingua. It may interest you to note that many of the countries in Africa are in dire need of professionals. An interesting finding is the fact that most of the immediate neighbours of those who need more professionals could not render much assistance due to the war that they had just gone through inthe last 20 or so years. They need a lot of graduates and professionals but the problem for Nigerians who have these (graduates and professionals) in abundance is that many of us could not work outside the anglophone zone. Surprisingly, many Ghanaians are filling up this yearning needs of the other African nations by improving their French literacy. Learning the French language is a unique selling point for any professional who wants to remain very relevant, both now and inthe future. For those folks talking about China's sought after products: a marketing maxim has it that you can buy in any language but the language of selling is the buyer's language. This supports my argument above that to "export" Nigerian professionals, they need the language of the buyer. Let us begin to see the advantage in the man's' proposition. |
We need to understand the issue the poster is raising here or else we misfire in our comment. The issue is not about his grade but that there was no transparency in the process of recruiting, so much that the white guy complained about the sudden appearance of two new candidates. We all agree that Exxon Mobil is one of the best places to work but getting there should not be through fraudulent means or nepotism. It is quite disgusting that we are not seeing anything wrong in the process of disqualifying the young man. Poster, i advise you get your facts right, be truthful with no sentiments and send this ugly experience, in no more than 300 words to the BBC site i mentioned. We must redress this ugly thing called Nigerian factor. The BBC email address is: network.africa@bbc.co.uk. Let us stand for integrity at all times. Cheers. |
The practice is not good. We all have to stop this; it is high time we stopped whatever is called the Nigerian factor in all its ramifications. I advise the poster to send it to bbc.co.uk. There is a programme called "only in Africa" It is aired around 7.45 GMT. Check BBC website for this. I am sure someone will take action. Eventhough you may not get the job, but you are helping in moving Nigeria forward. Best of luck. |
Dear all, I need urgent assistance. I have had a nokia E90 for a littel over 2 years and it has been performing wonderfully well. Just about a month ago, I noticed that if i fully recharge the battery now, it quickly discharges, especially when I browse the net on it, it shows battery low within a minute. This is unusual. What have I done wrong, how do I redress this? Kindly help proffer a solution to this as the machine has now become part of my daily life and I do not plan to replace it soon. Regards. |
The poster said we should pray for him. Oh sovereign lord that answereth prayers, onto you shall all flesh come (both small and big, decision makers and deciders, singers and drummers, all). Your son has come to us to pray for him, not because we know how to pray but because he has his trust in you that you can answer prayers and also believes that where two or three are gathered and they shall agree on a thing, it shall be established. Oh God of host, prove yourself in his life. You word simply says ask, it shall be given to you, seek, ye shall find; these he has done, anwer him oh lord, answer him as you did in 1 King 18: 36 & 37. You said in your word that they that call on you shall not be put to shame. Please honour your wrods in his life oh lord. Father we pray in Jesus name. |
Thanks mrperfect. |
Dear all, I need a webmaster who can design and setup a website for selling travel photographs and video. Interested experts should contact hero.kingdom@yahoo.com. Regards. |
Dear all, I would like members who have been users of the Nigeria law dot org website: http://www.nigeria-law.org/LFN-comprehensiveIndex.htm to guide me on how to search for details of some sections of the law. Each time I tried using the site, it becomes difficult for me to drill down on a particular section. E.g I find it difficult driling into the details of the EFCC law which is listed. Kindly assit. |
Hi, Kindly help check the VIN: 2HKRL1869YH600303. Thanks. |
Dear poster, I would not sympathise with your situation so as not encourage self-pity. The folks doing this are not helping you. Do not be discouraged. Believe in yourself and what you can do to help yourself. Look inwards, and you will see plenty of needs you can meet. Someone has said it that you should read; please read widely and voraciously. It helps. Rather than sitting in the corner of your house waiting for an angel to drop a bag of manna on you, take time to read. Your focus on making it in life will totally change. Search the net for a copy of Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich. I have a soft copy but the size is beyond the limit allowed for upload here. Debrief your mind from the wrong notion of no connection no job in Nigeria. It is not totally correct. I graduated in the early nineties; started my job hunt from the Labour office. In those days, businesses that need young graduates but could not pay an average graduate pay go there to drop their vacancy list. Have you tried finding out if offices like this exist or you are still nursing the notion of waiting for a godfather? IF you keep whining of when your late father will wake up to come help you, I wonder when that would be. Blaming your uncles for not willing to assist you would do you no good. Please look around you, there are lots of needs to meet. Children of wealthy neighbours need evening coaching by responsible individuals. Are you one? Some companies need sales reps to distribute their products; do you fit the profile. In your church or mosque; are there things you can do to showcase your skills and competencies; a small volunteer work like training the youth could get you the “publicity” needed to clinch more lucrative jobs. Learn from the poster named “Slaughter” above. I assume by typing your post here you can use the computer and can also type. There are millions who could not use the computer but would wish to and are ready to pay handsomely for the service; with a second hand computer, you can organise a "short course on computer appreciation" for folks around your neighbourhood. Where are you? Lastly, demystify the devil. It is not in all cases that the devil is at work and at the same time, be prayerful for God's favour when you have done your bit. From my experience in the last couple of years, the quality of up to 85% of the CV's I get regularly is always very poor. The mindset of an average recruiter is to pick the best candidate in terms of CV presentation and quality before they even see the face or talk to you to see what you are made of; what is the quality of your CV like? Imagine 5 people are to be recruited in a company, 5,000 applied and 2,000 meet all the requirements. Out of these 2,000, 85% (1,700) as I mentioned above sent poorly prepared CV; do you think a recruiter would waste his/her time on those? Do you belong to the 1,700 group or the final 300? If you explore yourself and see what you can do, there are several other skills in you beyond your BSc that can put more than daily bread on your table. Six months time, you will be here to testify. Please check! |
