Like other Posters have noted, Choice of location matters alot and also the nature of what you do that gives you that 30k, If it gives you time to do other things, then Its VERY POSSIBLE. Also another thing to consider is you and your spouse style of living (living expenses) your collective choice for life and where you might want to be in the next 10yrs. OUTSIDE LAGOS, ABUJA and PH, You can survive in ANY OTHER TOWN IN NIGERIA VERY WELL, Its just your determination and state of mind. God always bless a faithful and hardworking hands, that is my personal belief.  The marriage should not be expensive( just according to your earnings, don't rely on people to help you, cos they will not want you to succeed, SO PUT ALL YOUR TRUST IN GOD, I tell you with as little as 60-150k, you can do your wedding it all depends on YOU AND YOUR WIFE to be., REMEMBER Marriage is not the celebration, but the LIVING AND STAYING TOGETHER IN LOVE AND PEACE. Well Gents,

After being a secret Student of Spyder880, Fhemmmmmy, Babrus, and lots of Other Professors and Teachers on Building and construction for Over +6months on Naira Land and Intensive study and Reading, I Have taken the bull by the horn and now, I want to personally SUPERVISE THE BUILDING and CONSTRUCTION OF MY PERSONAL HOUSE, After also having bad experience from builders and engineers in my first project which I have abandoned temporarily and asked everybody to leave my site after spending +2m for a 3bedroom bungalow and the project was just above foundation not even filled or ready for DPC works after 8-months going, I lost all hope and Drive to consult anybody or Build. But NOW after learning from my Eminiment Professors on Nairaland, I think am bold again, but this time, I will do thing MYSELF and my way.

I will show pix of the abandoned project and then start this new Project in pix and Show all break down as much as possible.


But here is brief before we start.
This Project Started 1st of August by Acquiring the Land.

AIM: To build a Duplex with Bed rooms ( Ground floor = 1 large parlor, I guest room, kitchen, dinning and bar + ante room; 1st Floor = 3 bed room all masters and inclusive) and A standard 2bed room flat x 2 (One down and One up) as Detached apartments on same plot.

Objective: TO REDUCE IRRELEVANT COST as much as Possible and Supervise my Work Personally.

Target: Finish Project before October 2012. and Move in by God's Grace in November Same Year.

SO PROFESSORS AND my Good PEOPLE, I Will Welcome Suggestions and guidance as much as Possible.

Here are the details:

STAGE ONE: Land Acquisition and Preliminaries

Cost of Land = 850k @ Benin-City (Off Airport Road B4 the ZOO Garden Area (Irhiri Rd.) Actual Size of Land is 86x100. (what we have on paper is 85x100.
Community Issues and Others = 200k (Youth and dev. fees 100k, security 25k, Documentations with community, 5k, Elders Fee (tradition) fees 70)

Land Clearing = 10k
Surveying and Registration = 50k

Agreement and Lawyers' involvement, No fee charged yet (These are my friends and are investigating the land and doing all necessary probs., but Gave them tfars of 10k

Design, Registration and Approval = 200k (Pix Coming soon, Design-80k, approval 120k).

Marriage is a Beautiful thing, God created it so don't get it twisted. Even the Good book said it all " He who finds a Wife finds a good thing and obtains favour from the Lord".  Marriage by all standard is not to be forced on anyone or anyone compelled to get involved. Its the right thing to DO at the right time. God created us in his image and non is perfect except God, but when you get someone you can tolerate and the person can also tolerate you, Its a beginning and the rest is up to both of you to make it work. Like I always said, YOU DON'T NEED ANYBODY TO MAKE YOUR MARRIAGE WORK EXCEPT GOD. Not even your PARENTS. They will even help you scatter your home.

Why most marriages don't work out especially from the 2000s is because of LIES and SELF DECIET with people. Claiming what we are not and we get our spouse to understand and believe same only to self discover the truth after they have been deceived into what they never understood . ONLY THE TRUTH CAN SET YOU FREE.

As a man (25 & Above), once you can get any little means of livelihood (35k-40k/month and above - it must not be a steady work, but you know that within your means you can achieve something within that range) Why not get Married. This will enable you to have focus and plan carefully for the GOOD life that you want.

I will not bore you with more details rather you should convince yourself on what you want and ask God for guidance, Blessing and Protection. For More assistance read: 1st Corr. 7:1-10; 1st Corr. 13:1-13; Eph. 5:20-33; especially Hebr. 13:4-6. You can also add this if you have spare time. 1st Timothy 4:1-4.

Most reason is cos Benin is extension of abroad cos of the lots of boys that have sold their family properties to travel abroad and when they return, in bid for them to run back, they sell their mobs at any rate so as not be stranded back home.

More-so, Benin-Lagos is about 4hours (tops) in driving and easterners will prefer stop in Benin and go back with the ride

Well there is never an ideal time to leave one's parents cos most parent will forever want their children to be with them. Cos as far as they are concern, you are still that their baby of yesterday.

So the ideal time is when you are ready to face the reality of life, and for you to be successful, the earlier (from 18+) the better, ensure you know how to cook your meals and manage any finances you are able to reach before leaving.

As for those in NYSC, that is a perfect time to say bye to folks. You can always visit them from time to time, initially regular and you proceed to being scarce. 9,500 is a small money, but it also depends on what survival skill you have. Most people from NYSC they never return to their family houses but the lazy once especially those daddy help wrote waec, jamb, help secure addmission and so on will continue to depend on daddy's support even in time of wanting to get married.

All they do is talk and talk and talk. These people are not ghost. They are well known why honour them in place of prosecuting them?
I just pray that God should deal with all these our so-called big men and politicians the way he did to Abacha. We will all die and leave this wealth here on earth. So why labour for so much by creating tension all around in the name of security issues.

It is not everything about a relationship and marriage you women should complain about. - use common sense to win him home.
Thank God you have a Job. Get busy, by the time you ignore his excesses, he will NOTICE YOU.

You are my serious first blame - WHY? You lost touch and feeling with your wife. You lost communication and affection. gess! What were you doing until 3yrs plus, only for you to find out. Getting married is different from staying married. Apart from the many reason other Nlanders have deposited, I candid aswer is thus:
It is the best thing that can happen to a man especially when he truly finds his bone for bone.
Life it self is stressful and also narrow. Nothing Good comes easy, name them, education, getting a good job, making a living, getting ur first ride (not the one your folks gets for you), truely, those things that you truely seek and got on your own. Its becomes more interesting when you crown it with STAYING MARRIED. Everybody were given different graces, gift, destinies. Find yours and stick to it but certianly, getting married was one of them. - Gen. 2: 18-25.

Please I want to ask a simple question. Is PDP, Nigeria? is PDP greater than Nigeria? We have other 49 Political Parties, why is it only PDP that is making wave? (I bet we can all answer the questions). But before you answer. Search yourself and ask your conscience, When I die, will all that I've acquired be buried with me? - NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Life is short, we should all STAND FOR SOMTHING or FALL FOR ANYTHING. I am not a FAN of any of these guys (cos I don't think they all mean well for Nigerians).
