WWE Star, Omos – real name Toulope ‘Jordan’ Omogbehin, was born in Lagos migrated with his family to the US when he was young. Omos recently shared with Afrotimes Newspaper the fascinating story of his life and of overcoming a tumor and other health conditions he has overcome. He attended school/played basketball at Montrose Christian for the 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 school years. He went on to attend and play for the University of South Florida before moving back to Maryland and attending/playing for Morgan State University. When one has a tumor, it changes the hormonal balance in them and Omos had to undergo further tests. “But in the process of doing the testing, they found that not only do they have the pituitary tumor, I had a gigantism and I have partial Cushing’s disease, which is very rare. Omos explained. Moreover, his condition was a unique case in medical history as he had all three types of gigantism, unlike others, including WWE legend André the Giant. Fortunately, the quick intervention by the medical team saved his life. After all the physical struggles he underwent, Omos still managed to accomplish in the squared circle. Currently, he is healthy and doing well and appears on Monday Night RAW. Omogbehin, at 7ft 3” is the third on the all-time list of tallest WWE superstars only after the late Giant Gonzalez – 8ft and Andre The Giant – 7ft 4″ Source: https://www.facebook.com/AfrotimesNewspaper/photos/pcb.127986709912873/127986453246232/ Afrotimes Newspaper

A Nigerian international student hoping to live in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada has complained she was discriminated against because she has children. Obianuju Okwuogu had been looking for an apartment in Moncton during the pandemic for her family so she can attend Crandall University in person. But when she was asked how many people would stay in the apartment, and said she has four daughters between two and nine, she was turned away. "I kept searching and every day I kept getting disappointed," said the graduate student. Okwuogu had started online classes at Crandall University. She moved to Canada from Nigeria with two of her four children and has been staying with her sister in Edmonton while she looked for a place in Moncton. In her search for a Moncton home, she's focused on apartments with two or three bedrooms, and she had already dealt with about 20 different landlords. Okwuogu said she sees listings online and contacts landlords by email and by phone. They respond and ask how many family members she has, whether she has children and their ages. After telling them about her four children, she often doesn't hear back. And if she does, it's to hear that no apartments are available. "They would just say, 'Sorry we don't have anything for you,'" she said from her sister's home in Edmonton. She said one landlord told her it would be easier if she only had two children, and they needed to be older. "She thought she was being helpful, but it was pretty offensive," she said. 'I felt like I was being rejected' Another landlord said her children would disrupt the neighbours and referred her to an apartment too small to fit the six family members. "I started realizing at that point it wasn't about the space. It wasn't about the size. It was just because they were children, and they were young and they thought they would be an inconvenience to the neighbours." Okwuogu has also looked at duplexes in Moncton. One landlord worried about her paying rent because she was a student and said Okwuogu would have to pay six months rent up front. "I was heartbroken," she said. "I felt like I was being rejected because I had children. I felt like I was being told that my child was an inconvenience. I feel like I'm being told I should not have had my children, and that's really depressing." A Nigerian man has been declared wanted in Houston, Texas for the murder of a missing woman after investigators say he purchased suspicious items and searched various ways to get rid of a body. Chukwuebuka Nwobodo, 28, was charged yesterday, June 13 in connection with the murder of Felicia Johnson, 24, who disappeared after leaving a hotel in Houston on April 16, according to police. Detectives with the Houston Police Department say they believe Nwobodo killed Felicia soon after and disposed of her body “within the next few days.” Court records sighted by Afrotimesnews.com state that Felicia was seen on hotel surveillance camera leaving around 3:00 a.m. and getting in an Uber ordered for her by Nwobodo, which the company's records allegedly reflect was to take her to a Windchase Boulevard apartment complex where Nwobodo had lived between 2017 and 2020. Felicia had reportedly come to Houston from her home in California for a job interview but, when she arrived, she was reportedly turned away. Police say they found online advertisements with her picture on various sex worker websites, including one made on a site called "skipthegame" shortly before she disappeared. As the Uber took Felicia to the complex, surveillance video allegedly captured the suspect driving from his South Richmond Avenue residence to his former apartment building. The Uber arrived just minutes after Nwobodo allegedly did, before “an individual matching the description of Felicia” is seen exiting the Uber and heading toward the entrance, where Nwobodo was parked. Police say Nwobodo then brought Felicia back to his current apartment, less than two miles away. “Evidence indicates Nwobodo killed Felicia inside his apartment before disposing her personal effects in Bear Creek Pioneers Park,” said police. “It is believed he disposed of Felicia ’s body at some point within the next few days.” Police confiscated Nwobodo’s phone during his May 13 arrest. A later warranted search of his Google accounts revealed several dubious internet searches, including how to dispose of a body and destroy evidence, as well as a photo of a dismembered woman's body and a picture of Felicia 's Uber pickup spot and the car that had picked her up. Court records state that Nwobodo searched “how to delete your history completely” a week after that, as well as the cheapest places in the world to live on a $1,000-per-month budget. He also looked up “How does one plan a murder without getting caught” and “how to get away with murder.” On May 3, he searched for how missing person cases are handled and whether police can get access to dead people's text messages. Surveillance video from a local Wal-Mart allegedly showed Nwobodo — with a bandaged hand — April 16 and 17, buying items including towels, trash bags and a flashlight, according to court records. He also bought a pruning saw from Home Depot. Felicia ’s father, Kevin Johnson, has created a GoFundMe page to raise funds so that he can continue to stay in Texas and search for his daughter.
