Politics › Re: Rivers Election: Don't Rejoice Prematurely, Eze Tells Wike, Abe by highness25(m): 10:06am On Apr 04, 2019 |
sophsia62: A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised the governorship candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Nyesom Wike, and his camp not to rejoice yet over the results being collated by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as same is an illegality that will not stand a legal test.
Eze, in a statement circulated in Port Harcourt on Wednesday, noted that besides the fact that the results collated by the INEC had been grossly manipulated in favour of Governor Wike, to allegedly justify the huge bribe sum he had remitted to some senior officers of the commission to help him skew the processes to his favour, the unconstitutional suspension of the electoral process in the middle of a lawful exercise was already a ground for the nullification of the process.
Eze, who is one of the loudest voices of the APC in the South-South region, however advised Governor Wike and the Senator representing the Rivers South-East senatorial district of Rivers state, Senator Magnus Abe, to stop celebrating prematurely as the alleged concocted results in favour of PDP would eventually not sail, noting that the people of Rivers state spoke overwhelmingly against the reign of an administration, which had robbed of peace, security and development, the choice which would eventually be upheld in a properly held polls soon.
According to the APC chieftain, "the ongoing declaration of concocted results of the highly corrupted general elections of March 9th is a high class entertainment exercise that has nothing to do with democracy in any form. However, if it has anything to do with democracy, then one will describe it as a charade, sham and promotion of impunity and undemocratic plot, aimed at rubbishing and subverting the electoral rights of Rivers state and her people, who voted massively for a better tomorrow by electing Engr. Biokpomabo Awara of African Action Congress (AAC).
Eze encouraged Nigerians to disregard the concocted results that are being dished by a confused INEC to justify their corrupt nature and deceive the public but the fact remains that INEC at this time around have caught themselves in a trap that will change the fate of democracy in Nigeria.
Eze went further to highlight that INEC having admitted in paragraph one of her 10th of March, Press Release that it has conducted elections on the 9th of March in Rivers State and based on this fact INEC must by virtue of section 27 of the Electoral Act, announce the results but they decided to postpone the already held elections which according to the law is ultra vires, illegal and unconstitutional.
This fact of unlawful decision by INEC will surely be challenged in court by virtue of section 26 subsection 5 of the Electoral Act which shall led to the suspension of the concocted results so far announced until the matter is determined so I sincerely sympathize with those celebrating an illegal process that will be thrown to the dustbin where it rightly belong.
"The INEC are fully aware of the illegality of their action, but must see to its planned conclusion to justify the huge amount of money made available to them by the father Christmas outgoing Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike. If they have the moral grounds to continue collation of results in Rivers state, having waited for 3 weeks and for alleging in their suspension letter that their officials were abducted, so who was responsible for the collation of the results they claimed to have in their vault and currently announcing?
"The actions of INEC, particularly the activities of its Rivers REC, Obo Effanga, should not have surprised anybody as we have on several occasions alerted Nigerians that for INEC for no reason, have suspended the collation of results of the 9th March polls, when its benefactor was losing woefully, in order to embark on the alteration of the results. If not for the reason of altering these results in favour of Governor Nyesom Wike, how did INEC manufacture the 19 local government areas results it said that she presented to the world when it stated that the election was marred by violence.
"Apart from the unconstitutional declaration of results after the mandatory 21days as contained in the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, coupled with the fact that INEC kept in her custody the result sheets of the Rivers state polls, against the Electoral Law that stipulates that election results should be kept in the custody of CBN, what INEC has succeeded to achieve in its present illegality is to justify the billions of naira that Governor Wike may have paid to some of her staff, knowing very well that this illegality will not stand the test of time.
"I am shocked that Governor Wike and Senator Abe are dancing naked over a result, which as lawyers they know that this exercise is one in futility as the election will not only be cancelled and repeated, but Wike will surely not be the Rivers state Governor in the next dispensation. So the celebration over an illegal excercise demonstrates the disdain that these two have for democracy and people of Rivers state", Eze said.
Eze specially commended and congratulated an elder statesman; prominent Ijaw leader and vocal critique of rogue regimes in Rivers State, High Chief Anabs Sara-Igbe for not minting his age and risk to stand against Wike and Abe's plot to subvert the will of Rivers State electorates. This fearless Ijaw Chief and outspoken critic of rogue regimes in Rivers State led a Coalition of Non-Governmental Organisations, NGOs to condemn INEC for forging unity with the government of Rivers State to deny the electorate their preferred choices in the disputed polls.
He commended the Rivers State women, elders and youths for coming out en-mass "to protest the plot to enslave them further for the next four years", assuring them their protests and risks would not be in vain, adding "every democratic step would be taken to bring justice to Rivers state and her people, no matter the odds. So I sincerely appeal to all and sundry to be prayerful and allow God and judiciary to give us the justice we deserve."

Abdulazeez99: Bola Tinubu, the national leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, said that party discipline would be upheld in addressing the leadership tussle of the 9th National Assembly.
Mr Tinubu said this while speaking with newsmen in Lagos on Friday after a Prayer Programme organised by Islamic and Christian clerics to mark his 67th birthday, Igbere Tv reports.
The ruling APC recently endorsed the candidature of Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila as President of the Senate and Speaker of the House of Representatives.
“Party discipline is key, we must be discipline in the party. We were a little careless in 2015. We created the opportunity for serpent to get into our party and that did not allow Nigeria to make the desired progress.
“You have seen the result of it and we are not going to allow that to happen again. We are going to respect our party and we are going to apply the whip.
“It is either you stay with us or you follow us or you leave. You have the freedom to choose but the freedom does not give you as a minority to go and collaborate and protrude our mandate given to you to another party who was our opposition and who is still our opposition.
“We would not take that this time, no matter who you think you are. That is how it is built. Why do you want to deviate from what has been structured?
“We look at our reward system equally, zone by zone,” he said.

Politics › Re: Rivers Guber: Wike And Awara Clash In Port Harcourt by highness25(m): 1:03pm On Mar 31, 2019 |
Sunnyshinylight: Rivers guber: Wike, Awara clash in Port Harcourt Ifreke Inyang Ifreke Inyang 1 min ago
Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers state, and the state’s governorship candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Biokpomabo Awara, on Saturday clashed at the commission’s stakeholders’ meeting in Port Harcourt.
The Chairman of INEC, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, was represented by the National Commissioner in charge of Rivers, Bayelsa and Edo States, Barrister May Agbamuche-Mbu, who also chaired the stakeholders’ meeting.
Awara accused Wike and INEC of doctoring results of the ‘bloody’ governorship and House of Assembly elections of March 9 in the state.
Wike, on his part, accused Awara, other members of AAC and their backers in the main opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) of promoting violence and scaring investors from Rivers.
Awara said: “Surprised that the leaders of political parties involved in the elections were not asked questions by members of INEC’s five-man fact-finding committee. I doubt the reliability of the doctored result sheets and other electoral materials with INEC in the last three weeks. We have record of some of the results being mutilated, particularly that of Akuku-Toru LGA.
“REC of INEC in Rivers State has refused to give reasons for charging the four compromised electoral officers of the commission, who lack integrity for being card-carrying members of PDP.
“If the violence made the March 9 elections not to be credible, according to INEC, where did the commission get results for the seventeen LGAs, of Rivers 23 LGAs in the INEC’s possession? At what point did the elections become violence-free, for the commission to now have results for 17 LGAs? Why has INEC refused to release the results of the 17 LGAs it claimed to have and the remaining six LGAs it wants to do supplementary election?”
The Rivers governor, however, accused the AAC’s governorship candidate, members of his party and his backers in APC of being economical with the truth.
Wike said: “I do not agree that Rivers is a violent state. Rivers State has never and it will not be a violent State. Why are they raising too much alarm? What causes violence? Why is there violence each time there is election? The only way to have peaceful elections is when the security agencies refuse to interfere or manipulate any process.
“How did people die? When INEC would go and collate results and people would resist and when people resist, they will shoot them. Rivers is not a violent state. It is most unfortunate that people would leave their state, come to another state, instead of them to make sure what obtains in their state obtains here, they do not want it, they want to cause problems for us.
“With all due respect, the Garrison Commander (Brig.-Gen. Adeola Kalejaiye) is here. Throughout my political career, of not less than thirty years, I have never experienced the type of roles the army played. We must tell people the simply truth.
“INEC set up a committee in 2016, during and after the reruns, where it was stated in your report that certain police officer manhandled your electoral official. He even went as far as naming the police officer. What has happened, as INEC? You could have said you did not want that kind of officer again. The same officer was also implicated in your report in these elections. Who are the people causing the violence?
“Rivers State in not violent when they are drilling crude oil. Why must the violence be during the period of elections? Who are those responsible, in order to tell them? INEC can insist on not requiring the services of the violent security personnel; that is the only way we can have peaceful, free and fair elections in Rivers State. Let the army personnel remove their hands from elections. It is unfortunate that we had some people demonstrating and thanking the Nigerian Army for a job well done. That is Nigeria for us.
“Who are the security personnel that will be in charge of the collation (between April 2 and 5)? Let us avoid sermon. You do not preach to me what you will not practise. The onus is on the security agencies to help INEC to do the right things, in order to achieve the results the commission wants to achieve. Rivers State is a peaceful state. Nobody should be driving away investors from us. Let personnel of Nigerian Army remove their hands from electoral process.”
http://dailypost.ng/2019/03/31/rivers-guber-wike-awara-clash-port-harcourt/ I only came here to see where the two of them parked their cars battling it out man to man, face to face. I came to see them bleeding as a result of the clash. Op, you don fall my hand. But why is this Wike always saying Rivers state is not violent? Is it because he stays in government house or because he has not experienced half of what others are going through every blessed day in the state? Amaechi, lion doesn't live in Rivers, go to the forest, a thick one and stop this life. Nobody can be Tinubu in Rivers |

ahmedkoded95: Abuja – The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), says it will abide by the contents of the 2019 Memorandum of Action (MoA) agreed upon by the union and the Federal Government.
Prof. Biodun Ogunyemi, ASUU President, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Abuja. He was reacting to a statement circulating on the social media regarding ASUU’s plan to embark on another strike.
NAN reports that ASUU and Government reached an agreement on Feb. 7 and the union suspended its three months strike on Feb. 8, after resolving eight areas of disagreement.
Ogunyemi, however, said that if government failed to fulfill its part of the agreement as reflected in the 2019 MoA, ASUU would resume its suspended strike as the union deemed fit.
According to him, as far as our members are concerned, we are activating our Memorandum of Action by engaging the Federal Government to keep to their promises.
“Some of the agreements are already coming up, but some are still pending with respect to our Memorandum of Action and we will continue to do that and there is no continuation of any strike action for now.
“We are concerned about the plight of our students and we have gone back to intensify efforts to cover lost grounds.
“ Our members have sacrificed their annual leave and those who are supposed to go on sabbatical, many of them have put on hold their sabbatical leave.
“This is to show our students and their parents and indeed all Nigerians that we are not out to destroy the system.
“ Once we make demand from government and government responds positively, we will not go any extra mile to put down the system, our interest is to build the system and we have always done that,” he said.
He called on Nigerians to ignore the rumour of ASUU embarking on another industrial action.
“Someone or some people have created a twitter handle that they use to misinform Nigerians and we have responded to say we have nothing to do with that twitter handle, that anything on that twitter handle should be disregarded.
“We do not have an official twitter handle, we have just protested to twitter now, that the handle should be blocked because the twitter handle does not belong to us and they have been using it to make statements in the name of ASUU.
“We do not have anything to do with that handle and we have every reason to suspect that the person or those who created that twitter handle are fraudsters.
“Nigerians should be wary of them and they should not take seriously any information coming from that twitter handle because we do have not one and we have not directed any anybody to release information on our behalf, ‘’he said.

AutoJoshNIG: Since his emergence as the Governor of Delta state in 2015, the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has recorded quite a number of successes.
However, one area that he has excelled enormously is in the area of Urban Renewal and Road Infrastructure.
Within 4 years of his administration, over 317 road projects across the state have been embarked upon.
Interestingly, a significant percentage of these roads are located in rural areas. This was deliberately orchestrated in order to facilitate the movement of goods and services in and around Delta State.
These constructed roads feature large surface and underground storm drainage facilities. This was done to reduce the devastating effects of flooding and ensure the durability of the roads.
https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-12.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-2.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-3.jpg?w=600&ssl=1
The portfolio of constructed and re-constructed roads by the Okowa administration include over 1,000km of roads and 344km of drains valued at over N243bn. Out of this number, 135 projects covering 405km of roads and 159km of drainage channels (alongside roads) have been completed.
In addition, some road construction projects were equally embarked upon in riverine communities with their difficult terrain.
Of particular interest are the Main Axial Road and Okerenkoko Township roads in Warri South West Local Government Areas as some of the flagship projects of this administration. There is also the on-going rehabilitation and Asphalt Overlay of the 19.7km Obutobo 1 –Obutobo 11 – Sokebolou – Yokori road in Burutu Local Government Area.
There is also the on-going rehabilitation and Asphalt Overlay of the 19.7km Obutobo 1 –Obutobo11 – Sokebolou – Yokori road in Burutu Local Government Area.
Some of the major road projects that readily come to mind are the 10.8km km Okpare-Umolo-Ovwodokpor-Kiagbodo road in Ughelli South and Burutu LGAs, Jeddo-Ughoton road in Okpe LGA and Construction of Access road to Eagle Heights University, Oteri Township road in Ughelli North LGA and Okpe-Olomu/Otor-OrereOlomu road Ughelli South LGA.

Other roads construction projects by the Okowa administration include the expansion and rehabilitation of sections of Oghara Junction to Otefe Road in Ethiope West LGA Oghara, access road to Jesse town, access road to Ugbuwangue new layout, construction of Okuomowa road to Osubi to link Efekpo lane, the construction of Ekete main road, off DSC Expressway, the rehabilitation ofEkreravwe/Orhoakpor/Isiokolo Road in Ethiope East LGA, Abraka Township Roads Phase 1, and the reconstructed 8.5km Ughelli-Afiesere-Ofuoma road in Ughelli North LGA.
Asaba, the Delta state capital, is not left out of this road construction fiesta.
Cable Point Dual Carriageway and several township roads have given the state capital a befitting face-lift.
Asaba residents now have alternative routes as against the usual hiccups that characterized the main access road, the Nnebisi road.
The recently commissioned Kwale -Ogume- Obiaruku and Ozoro -Oleh roads have greatly enhanced the economic activities of the people of those areas. High transportation fares coupled with excruciating pains of having to ply deplorable roads are becoming outdated.
Indeed, it is this landmark achievement of Ifeanyi Okowa in the road sector that has earned him the sobriquet- the Road Master. https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-19.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-11.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-18.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-15.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-16.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i0.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-17.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i1.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-14.jpg?w=600&ssl=1 https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Okowa-The-Road-Master-1.jpg?w=600&ssl=1

ogododo: Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri is yet to decide whether to include goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in his team for Wednesday's Premier League clash with Tottenham. Sarri says he will take the best decision for his team after Kepa was fined one week's wages for his refusal to be substituted in Sunday's Carabao Cup final with Manchester City, which the Blues lost on penalties, so Willy Caballero could come in. Emerson Palmieri has been preferred to Marcos Alonso at left-back of late and could continue, with Sarri likely to stick by his first-choice line-up and resist changes. Meanwhile, Tottenham are still without Dele Alli and Eric Dier. Alli is on the comeback trail from a hamstring injury while his England team-mate Dier is laid low with tonsillitis. Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has no other concerns for the visit to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea vs Tottenham line-ups: Predicted XIs Chelsea XI: Kepa; Azpilicueta, Rudiger, Luiz, Emerson; Kante, Jorginho, Kovacic; Pedro, Higuain, Hazard Tottenham XI: Lloris, Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Trippier, Winks, Sissoko, Davies, Eriksen, Son, Kane Likes for Hazard, share for Kane. Let's see who wins. |
