What are you looking for GMB? Just to refresh your memory, AT THE LAST 2011 PRESIDENTIAL GENERAL DEBATE, THE CANDIDATE WHO DID NOT ATTEND IT WON THE ELECTION. You are witnessing a repeat. |
Every day, promise yourself you won't: 1. Wait until you're sure you will succeed. You can never feel sure you will succeed at something new, but you can always feel sure you are committed to giving something your best. And you can always feel sure you will try again if you fail. Stop waiting. You have a lot less to lose than you think, and everything to gain. 2. Multitask during a meeting. The easiest way to be the smartest person in the room is to be the person who pays the most attention to the room. You'll be amazed by what you can learn, both about the topic of the meeting and about the people in the meeting, if you stop multitasking and start paying close attention. You'll flush out and understand hidden agendas, spot opportunities to build bridges, and find ways to make yourself indispensable to the people who matter. It's easy, because you'll be the only one trying. And you'll be the only one succeeding — on multiple levels. 3. Check your phone while you're talking to someone. You've done it. You've played the "Is that your phone? Oh, it must be mine" game. You've tried the you-think-sly-but-actually-really-obvious downward glance. You've done the "Wait, let me answer this text" thing. Maybe you didn't even say "wait." You just stopped talking, stopped paying attention, and did it. Want to stand out? (Especially if you're a boss?) Want to be that person everyone loves because they make you feel, when they're talking to you, like you're the most important person in the world? Stop checking your phone. It doesn't notice when you aren't paying attention. Other people? They notice. And they care. 4. Think about people who don't make any difference in your life. Trust me: The inhabitants of planet Kardashian are OK without you. But your family, your friends, your employees — all the people that really matter to you — are not. Give them your time and attention. They are the ones who deserve it. 5. Let yourself be distracted by notifications. You don't need to know the instant you get an email. Or a text. Or a tweet. Or anything else that pops up on your phone or computer. If something is important enough for you to do, it's important enough for you to do without interruptions. Focus totally on what you're doing. Then, on a schedule you set — instead of a schedule you let everyone else set — play prairie dog and pop your head up to see what's happening. And then get right back to work. Focusing on what you are doing is a lot more important than focusing on other people might be doing. They can wait. You, and what is truly important to you, cannot. 6. Let your past dictate your future. Mistakes are valuable. Learn from them. Then let them go. Easier said than done? It all depends on your perspective. When something goes wrong, turn it into an opportunity to learn something you didn't know — especially about yourself. When something goes wrong for someone else, turn it into an opportunity to be gracious, forgiving, and understanding. The past is just training. The past should definitely inform but in no way define you ... unless you let it. 7. Talk behind someone's back. If only because being the focus of gossip sucks. (And so do the people who gossip.) If you've talked to more than one person about something Joe is doing, wouldn't everyone be better off if you stepped up and actually talked to Joe about it? And if it's "not your place" to talk to Joe, it's probably not your place to talk about Joe. Spend your time on productive conversations. You'll get a lot more done — and you'll gain a lot more respect. 8. Say yes when you really mean no. Refusing a request from colleagues, customers, and especially friends is really hard. Yet you can't do everything. You shouldn't do everything. In fact, success is often based more on what you decide not to do than on what you do. Besides, rarely will saying no go as badly as you expect. Most people understand (and if they don't should you care too much about what they think?) When you say no to something you don't want to do, at least you only feel bad for a few moments. When you say yes to something you really don't want to do you can feel bad for a long time — or at least for as long as it takes you to do what you didn't want do in the first place. |
If you ever came across a disorder called SCHIZOPHRENIA and you are not sure or dont even know what the disorder looks like. I have good news for you. Just take a very good look at Femi Fani Kayode, thats the epitome of schizophrenia, he manifests both the panic and manic phases. Who takes him serious! |
Good analysis and very right too. The only area i dont agree with you is where you where you said "most Nigerians in our numerous villages that constitute the bulk of the country don't have access to the internet...or can't use it. At best they are stuck with NTA and the network news on radio" The villagers listen to foreign radio news like BBC etc. They are well enlightened too. |
IVORY2009:Yet to check my account. |
tobechi20:Thanks anyway. |
thomasina:Good observation and input. |

please any screen or anti scratch protection? |
Na wa o. PDP could not come up with a name that does not link the party to PDP. YDP = Young Democratic Party PDP = People's Democratic Party. A party that cannot even win a Councillor slot wants the whole election shifted. They plan their for a day to election. Havent they read the part of the INEC guidelines that stipulates deadline for submission of candidates? This YDP reminds me of a movement that were rooting for Abacha, Youth Earnestly Ask for Abacha. The worst thing for this party is that it is run by easterners. We dont love our country! |
While trying to insult Tinubu and Lai Mohammed, this what Femi Fani Kayode said “Tinubu should count himself lucky that Nigerians have short memories and that . . ." Nigerians have short memories? The same Nigerians you want to elect your boss? |
It is only security votes that he can over 90%. Shikena! |
Fellow Nigerians, While I was wondering what lie is cooking this week from the stable of PDP, lo and behold they came up with another lie that Osinbajo and Tinubu are in a secret pact so that Tinubu can replace Osinbajo as Vice-President after elections. PDP did not disappoint me. While we await the next lie, the current lie has a lot of hidden meaning which is in the favour of APC. 1. PDP through FFK just told Nigerians that they know APC will win 2015 presidential elections but their worry is that Tinubu may end up as Vice-President which they do not like. 2. This kind of lie can only be said by FFK who is known as any where belle face (no direction) and a serial liar. 3. Why is PDP taking Paracetamol for another man's headache. They claimed that they had to bring this in the open as service to Nigeria. Service indeed. Guys we are in for a season of lies as the elections draw close. But one thing is obvious, the volley of lies being churned out by PDP against GMB is seen by Nigerians as comedy. People just laugh over the lies and keep routing for GMB. The same PDP that wants to use technology to fight corruption is against the use of a technology against corruption (Card reader). The parties buying PVCs are the ones against the use of card readers. Let's await the next comedy of the PDP house of . . . |
When a slipper-shaped tit makes a post, what else is expected? |
clevvermind:Tragedy just happened and inept persons like you who sense will look good on will use his mundane fingers and type senseless crap! If its your brother hit by the bomb is this what you will write? Nincompoop! |
Kai, I fear for my country! These are youth that should be challenging the status quo but for some stipend they are protesting against something they do not know. Its a shame on the youth. what did Jega do wrong? because he chose to do the right thing, he chose to ensure that votes now count. is this what they are protesting about? |
If there was nothing wrong with the report, i bet you they would have flooded the tabloids with it. The report will soon find its way out. No be naija we dey. GEJ go soon vex someone, and the person go leak the report. |
Hausa man talk say '' In fada ya fi karfin ka, ka mayar da shi wasa'' Interpret it. It explains what Anyim Pius is trying to say! |
davidstones:All these trash from you? Just wondering the trash you are made up of. You even just registered. Get a new job please. Time registered: February 23, 2015 Time spent online: 2 hours & 1 minute |
Fayose knows that his political career ends the day GMB comes into power. i understand he is trying to be grateful to GEJ for aiding is accent to power by becoming an attack dog. All these propaganda is only succeeding in making Buhari more popular. PDP should note that Nigerians have made up their minds to go for GMB whether he went to school or not, whether he is sick or not, whether he can speak English or not, whether he is 71 or 99yrs old. |
Donphillopus:Guy, why you dey expose your ignorance na. You mean say you never go airport before? now who is the illiterate? You registered yesterday just for this! Pathetic. Time registered: February 19, 2015 Time spent online: 3 hours & 31 minutes |
Guy, If voting for the progress of Nigeria is foolishness, then you are full of wisdom! |
sincerenigerian:Not only did the election of 2011 bring in Jonathan, It was contested by the same Buhari too. It was said to be the freest and fairest election ever. Jega played by the rules in 2011. So what changed today? Nigerians are not okay with Jonathan's scorecard after six whole years. Jega has not changed but Nigerians have changed as influenced by Jonathan's score card. The truth is if this 2015 election were working for Jonathan's winning, there would have been no postponement. Nigerians foolishness ended in 2011. |
Na wa o. So them really postpone this election. Now we are exposed to the full dose of valentine and na Saturday join again. Chai! |
Hmm, the plan of replacing Jega has been confirmed by this cartoon. Jega should have been the one declaring the winner not Chemical Ali. |
I really am afraid for my country with people like Okupe speaking for the president. 1. When Jega kept complaining that no money was given to them to run INEC since about a year now, what did the president do to address that. 2. Its the same Jega that conducted the 2011 elections that gave GEJ victory and was well commended by same Okupe and presidency as the freest and fairest election ever . What changed now? Could it be that the presidency knows that if the election happens, the incumbent would lose that's why INEC was sabotaged? 3. Why is Okupe insisting that INEC is not prepared. Is he also the spokes person for Jega. Its a shame on the presidency if Jega in not ready for election because it will be said that GEJ was not ready to conduct elections and not Jega. Would Jega use his money to prepare? 4. Let Okupe sign an affidavit that the budget given to the presidency by INEC for elections was all met and on time too? 5. If this election does not hold as fixed, it would be recorded as another failure by GEJ administration. |
@ OP, what we need as president is someone who is courageous enough to fight corruption with strong stance whether he be young or old. Hope this helped. |
Ventura1:Yes, they are all Igbo lawyers. They were paid money. Now you understand why igbo presidency is a huge concern. |
charlesamos123:GEJ promised 10,000MW by Dec 2013. Reduced it to 7,000 by Dec 2014 and you are here saying he tried for saying he achieved 4000MW? Where is even the 4000MW? We have always hovered between 2000MW and 4000MW even before GEJ. So please keep quiet. |
@ OP, congrats Oche Joseph on making it to the GEJ campaign team list. You were always rooting for that by your post on Nairaland. I do not expect an unbiased topic or post from you. |
