Career / Share Your Career Transition Experience by Historicalee: 5:31pm On Jun 22, 2021
Hello Good People.

This thread is about sharing your career transition experience and how it has been so far the merits, demerits, unique instances and subsequent challenges.

Here are samples of what to tell:

Sample 1
My first degree was a Bsc in Physics, then i switched to HRM by doing a PGD in Human Resources Management, Msc in Human Resources Management and a CIPM. I work as a talent acquisition specialist.

Sample 2:
I read English but had to go back to read Law after 5 years of not getting a job. I went back at age 25 and graduated at 30.

Sample 3:
Dropped out from Microbiology to relocate to Germany to read Computer science, I have been a Software engineer ever since then.

TLDR: Give a career transition insight using a personal or real life experience.

Course: Business Administration
Job: Professional Makeup Artiste
Merit: It was pretty easy to learn and i was inspired by a friend who was already into it and making it big.
Demerit: Getting customers can be hard and you need to be ready to travel frequently.

Namibia: Sparsely populated, good for introverts and freelancers. You will learn to speak Afrikaans, a good number of the citizens speak English.

South Africa: Good for you as an entertainer, there is a huge Nigerian community, has a booming entertainment industry.

Rwanda: If you want to do business, not so great for a foreigner in the entertainment industry.

Senegal/Cote d'Ivoire: Are you ready to learn French? If yes, then you are good to go.

So i read from page 1 till this point.

Good comments have been made but you need to know one thing like someone mentioned earlier, you need a skill that requires little or no financial investment for a start, it is on this note i will recommend:

Social Media Management: You will have to learn how to optimize a social media page to reflect a brand's personality and image.

Content Writing: Polish your knowledge and understanding of English grammar, so you can create content for web, product review, blogs etc.

Once you learn till you get to intermediate level, the sky can either be your limit or stepping stone depending on your zeal and passion.

That's not true. Ogboni has a strong network in Germany, UK, US and Canada. I know some of their members in Lagos, Nigeria. These guys virtually control everything but unfortunately, they aren't happy with their wealth.
