BusinessEid 2018: What Time Is The Best To Buy A Ram?* by Hmajeed(op): 2:15pm On Aug 12, 2018
*'Eid 2018: What time is the best to Buy a Ram?*

'Eid Al Adha, popularly called 'Sallah' by the Northern People of Nigeria and 'Ileya' in the West, is an occasion of joy, feast and festivity. On this day, Muslims world over come together to rejoice and glorify their Lord for His mercies and blessings on them. At the end of the two rak'aat supererogatory prayer, on the day of 'Eid, sacrificial animals are slaughtered as a token of piety and for people to feast on.

As Muslim faithfuls in Nigeria anticipate the biggest celebration in the Abrahamic religion of Islam, a lot of preparation has been ongoing. This massive preparation ranges from getting new, nice dresses to buying food items and sacrificial animals.
One question that many might want to ask is : what time is it best to buy a Ram? It may be difficult to give a clearcut or one-way response to this question, considering a number of factors.

*Buying Early or Late: The Pros and Cons*

It is a great idea to buy early. Doing so allows you to save more. Those who get their sacrificial animals before the rush get a chance to make fantastic picks at interesting prices.

However, that may mean a lot beyond the cheap price and great find. One of the costs that comes with buying early is having to bear the burden of feeding the animal before the day of 'Eid.

If you buy your Ileyah Ram some two weeks before the Eid so as to beat the market rush and the price, you might as well be bringing upon yourself the responsibility of feeding it everyday before the D-day. To some, this is no big deal while it may be really tasking to others.

Moreover, as much as buying early is cost effective - and therefore advisable, it is no less risky. Experience has proven that buying sacrificial animal early comes with another risk: the risk of theft. Many a time, we read that thieves cart away people's animal days before Sallah or even, a night before. If not that, such animal may find some way to escape, perhaps due to the simplest display of carelessness on its custodians. The result of this is neither interesting. A search for the strayed animal may be exhausting, if not totally futile.

*Buying Early or Delaying : Which Option is Best for Consideration?*

Buying early comes with fantastic perks, just as it is risk fraught. Equally, buying late means spending more, but not without the least advantage. In such situation, what's best to do?

It may prove beneficial and preferable to buy very early keeping in mind the price of animal this year. Due to the incessant conflict that has been ravaging the northern part of the country, major routes to where the animals are sourced are now difficult and dangerous to ply, thereby making it tasking to secure as much animal as possible. This shortage of supply, and safety threat, has made ram dealers travel as far as Niger Republic to get rams. With an additional expenses on securing the animals, you would readily make a smart guess that rams will be expensive than expected.

But how does one shirk the burden of feeding an animal as well as keeping it safe in a country where a person's safety is not even guaranteed not talk of a livestock? In such case, what is best to do, it turns out, is to buy a sacrificial animal as early as possible, so as to beat the price, and request for it to be kept for you till when you think it will be best delivered. Interestingly, most centers render this service, so, it is not going to be difficult. It may come with a little price attached, though.

With the digital rave, however, things may just be as simple as falling off a log. There are a number of online platforms where you can easily place your order for a Sallah Ram. Thinking of shopping your Ileyah Ram, Cow or Goat before the rush, you may want to do that the easiest way on Horns.ng. This online livestock brand allows you shop now and have your animal delivered to your doorstep anytime you choose to have it. And the good news? You may not have to pay more for more.

you're just incoherent
CelebritiesA Letter To Falz On The Hijab Issue by Hmajeed(op): 12:13pm On Jun 06, 2018
Dear Falz
You Fixed the lines

I'm not a music fan, but the name falz had always rang a bell. I've known you since the days of your comic ‘Elo bae videos’. I was suprised instagram skit maker as now turned into a super star musician. I heard of the Made in Nigeria song and a whole of lot of my friends were praising the creativity behind the video... One of my friend kept saying ‘Bobo yen try Gan’. I never really cared to view the video even though I was on YouTube and I saw it as the No 1 trending video in Nigeria, I read a Pulse NG article about criticism against the video, and soon MURIC isssued a statement against the video. The Creativity Director argued it was in support of the Kidnapped girls, what a weak defense.. But your comment was a bigger disappointment ... Is there a law against girls Hijab dancing?!

Without boring you with scriptural text, let me get you aware that as Muslims we see our Women as Queens ND princesses. Hence they have a royalty code which they are expected to live by, examples are not traveling without a male relative as companion, covering their body up, being bashful, etc. More religiously guided is the Hijab which is synonymous to our faith any move to make fun or degrade it's position is highly condemned.
The Hijab stand a position similar to that of a Catholic nun veil, it may not be legally wrong but by all moral Standard it's against any sane culture to make fun whether willingly or unwillingly. With your legal background, you'd agree that Issues of faith and politics are too sensitive to dabble into.
While I'd want to assume you only intended to show support to the Muslim Women under Shekau's captive, I guess that could have been well depicted if the women where made to sit down with their mouth sealed while A Shekau looking guy with Guns, stand firm against them and laughing at their plight. Hostages don't dance Shaku Shaku.

While I'm disappointed some people over reacted, am more disappointed seeing some Muslims supporting the error from your side, more disappointed am I at their comments on the intolerance of your critics. To them I'd say ‘Truly Islam Encourages Tolerance, but our tolerance should not make us accommodate a willing/unwilling hit at our values’

Business To BusinessRe: My First Field Sales Experience by Hmajeed(op): 8:13pm On Mar 08, 2018
thanks bro.

it's really tough. I'm getting tired already
Business To BusinessMy First Field Sales Experience by Hmajeed(op): 4:20pm On Mar 08, 2018
Some weeks ago I found myself thinking about my past and my plans for the future. The future seems bleak, I've worked on excellent ideas, did thorough market research, harmed myself with great people to start the journey together and yet I've never launched a business, the primary problem as been raising funds it's either my uncle tells me an outright No, or my brother complains of non payment of salaries, or my sister tells me she's saving her cash for some projects or the other. It's been a huge frustration. Imagine just needing 50,000 and you spend hours designing a pitch deck and all you get is a No! I'm not interested, or Great Idea but no cash at hand

I'm not willing to give up, I'm not willing to live the life of having my destiny tied to a monthly payment, I decided I'm gonna pick a job and since I'm a corper I can only take a remote job I settled for a Field sales manager with .

I went to the interview and I and 3 others were chosen out of 12 applicants, we went through a brief training and we were told to start work.
Well what's the work about??
I've to move around to find potential sellers and make them come onboard, my main job is to ensure they buy the premium services which will make them edge competition.

After taking the job since last Friday I didn't take a step at work, I was in my ppa and exams are coming by so u have to round off with the kids and prepare them for the exams ahead
I took my first step today(thursday), It was actually a bad beginning, my phone was down, my shirts aren't ironed and all. I was too weak to do chores last night I had planned to get them ready this morning, but unfortunately it rained overnight and NEPA had decided to sun dry the wires before bringing light.
I looked around for somewhere to charge my phone to no avail, until Allah blessed me with one Cyber Cafe, I dropped my phone went home to take my bath and all, and soon I was back for my phone. I checked the percentage it was at 71% I was intrigued, my 1 week old Infinix Hot 5 Shaa pra pra.
I forgot to mention that I had to borrow money from mum to get the phone, since part of the requirements for the Job is a functional smartphone.
I trekked for close to 15 minutes under Abeokuta sun, already sweating profusely, with no handkerchief at hand I had to use my sleeves to wipe my sweat as I approached my first target -- a car dealer. After greeting the boys, they directed me to Oga who was standing nearby receiving a call, I moved close to him as he received the call, and soon he dropped and I introduced myself told him about the service and made him realize the enormous opportunity that awaits him if he uses , he told me point blank.... I'm not interested, I've used it before it's generating no leads, he wouldn't even let me talk and soon one of his friends came and said they need to talk ASAP, I had to go!
Off I went again to another car dealer who is another 10 minutes walk away, I pitched to him and he showed interest not without the normal screwing, but he said he as no functional smartphone even though I saw him with a Big blackberry device which he later said was his Side-Chick phone and not his main. I praised him Shaa and I gave him my 'Business Card'.

I walked for another 15 minutes, I found a mosque I went in the to pray my midday prayer and took some rest and soon I was up and ready to hit the streets, I met another car dealer who showed great interest and I did the usual of giving him my business card and I got his contacts as well for follow up.
At this point I was tired, I trekked another 5 minutes when I noticed a big furniture store I went up the stairs to meet a lady who seems to be in charge, before I could begin my pitch she saw the tiredness in me and soon offered me a sit on a nice soafer and she showed the angel in her by giving me a sachet of cold sachet water, I couldn't take it ASAP like that, at least in order not to present my self as an hungry man which I was. I pitched to her even though she was not listening well and soon we got to the money issue and she was like that charge is too much oo, I told her it's a good investment and all, and soon she told me she's not the boss here... That got me shocked cos she was using a SAMSUNG S8 EDGE!
But she said she owns a make up store for herself and was considering using it for her own business but presently she can't afford the cost bla bla bla, I gave her my card and I collected her number and soon I was off!

I was thinking of moving on but I was way too tired, I just gave up and decided to rush home. I got a bike, and in my hurry to get a good nap I forgot to pay the Okada Man, God bless the guy he quickly called me back I payed him off and I picked those final steps to the corpers with the few energy left in me.

Such a day!
.

what If we agree that the military left a bad mark on us, but would you agree with me that brutality amongst soldiers started with Igbos, remember the first coup was carried out by soldiers from the east and middle belt.

I have a reason to believe that the Igbos actually influenced the spirit of brutality on Hausas and not the way round.

what is this one talking??

Hausa Fulani influenced people to put whips on their cars, I see it more in Yoruba and Igbo cars than on Hausa..

professionalism and Igbo how do they relate... Igbo man is professional??

it seem you've never been to a high street mall

Bede2u:
It is an hausa-fulani trend. The thing most southerners dont realise is that our police, army, politicians, civil servants etc have unknowingly been overwhemly influenced by hausa-fulani cattle mentality. That is why a military man lacks empathy, a policeman or civil servant will stress u to death when u enter his trap.

Now compare that to banks and private sector run mostly by southerners. There is a much greater level of proffessionalism in the south-dominated private sector.

We are culturally being colonised by hausa...otherwise wat is the rationale of keeping a pain-inflicting object like horsewhipp in ur car.

Nigerians (due to legacies of the hausa-dominated military regimes) now lack empathy.

BusinessLessons From Adenuja Jnr Failed Bid by Hmajeed(op): 11:00pm On Jan 31, 2018
Perhaps the main article is gonna be the article of the year, you may argue its too early to judge but in the whole of 2017 I never came across such an article looking at the insane story narrative.
Trust me, that's was the only article that made me use my jotter in a long time.
I read through the article, smiling at intervals and at times opening my mouth agape while saluting the Naijapreneurship in a guy we would conclude to be “Butty" and will be among those who would like to do “cool business ", he displayed such ruthlessness that could only be seconded by those of “Evans, the billionaire kidnapper". If you read through the story of his arrest you'd have to praised his sagacity, his plans, counter plans, his core analysis of happenings, his preparation for the unexpected and all, this made him seem untraceable even Abba Kyari had to confess that's the toughest criminal case he ever faced.
Going straight to the main points here are some fee things I've learnt from the article

1) Collaborate with your Competitors: I first heard of this concept from Leo Stan Ekoh, Founder of Zinox Technology an indigenous computer company, You'd be confused to note that the same company that makes computers for Nigerians is also the largest distributor for HP and other foreign computer companies. Its just about realising your core goals and look for all means possible to achieve them, in Daddy Leo's case he wanted to make computers available to every Nigerian family, realising that being in competition with Giants like HP which would be an automatic kick out for him, he quickly collaborated with them. At least the goal was to make computer available to all Nigerians he can still make that possible through a collaboration with HP, he achieves his goal, remains in business, and most importantly he makes extra money.!
2) Pull crazy legal stunts: I can't just help but burst into laughter when he talked about how he handled the case of Alex (the bureaucrat), He considered Alex request of him bidding for a partnership an insult on his personality and his company looking at his past records and his advisory board, He gave the guy a huge clap back and then sent some people to rally around him till the guy realised his “error" and made amends.
3)Follow your instincts: Every lover of Steve Jobs would be familiar with “experts are clueless ", while this may not be through in all cases but trust me if you find yourself obsessed with an idea or thought and all business consultant see it as not feasible and you trust it as a huge impact it can make in pushing the human race forward, Bro plz go for it. Paddy learnt that in an harsh way, if he had followed his mind and neglected the words of the “financial experts" he could have acquired the company of his dreams and Pa Adenuga would be proud of him, it can be understood from his own perspective considering that his mentor was not in support of this crazy “proposal".
4) Always do a little Pro vs Con game: Many of us are quite familiar with the SWOT analysis, and also familiar with the best case scenario and worst case scenario analysis, you'd agree with me that he stood a better chance of winning the bid if he had informed Remi about his plans, but he was not ready to unearth this work in process to any Nigerian with a close relationship with his family for the time being, but this later proved to be a not well thought of plan. Cos if he had informed him the worst case would have been Remi talking him into dropping that hustle and devote his energy into developing the family business which a “Hungry and Foolish" 29 year old won't accept, and in the best case Remi would have helped him with the necessary connections needed to have a JV with Petrogas in Oman.

All in all it was a great experience for him, and I'm sure he as learnt enough lesson to prepare him for any future bid.
I wanna specially appreciate him, his narratives made me comprehend more clearly some concepts in investment and acquisitions. I'm gonna keep this article in my online drive for my son to read, and I hope one of the many NGOs concerned about Kidpreneurship will convert the story into a book for kids to learn from I'd suggest it be titled “Paddy's Business Exploit"

This is how far a 21 year old Corper can go, You may as well highlight some lessons I didn't mention. You may be wanna be nice to ignore some missing words or typos I had to do this on my phone before procrastination comes my way.

I would appreciate if anyone can connect me with either Paddy, Sujubomi of Sujimoto or Jason of Irokotv.
I need better mentor e daa kun.

that's the biggest challenge I've right now, I spoke with some national daily guy and he told me to even right a story about me would cost around 20k..

far beyond my ability...I'm just a corper

no one to fall unto

my biggest asset is myself and my determination to succeed despite all odds

Hello everyone,
I'm a young and aspiring entrepreneur, just 21 and have had two unsuccessful businesses already. I'm about to launch another, a website that can revolutionise the buying experience both online and offline.

like we'd all agree a website success is determined by the number of traffic it attracts, got lots of features to add but due to financial constraints I can't do that for now, l wanna make this fly at least for now.

I'm making the final works on the website, and in weeks it should be ready for launch... But my Babas how can I make a grand launch on Nairaland!

How can my start-up get featured on the FP,

the idea is quite simple, I should have shared it here but you wouldn't believe a friend stole it already...

But trust its an Insanely Great Idea, only a Steve Jobs fan understand that phrase

But Babas plz gimme some ideas, I don't mind blog features, newspapers and all
