BusinessRe: Egyptian Devaluation Backfires -- Nigeria, Be Thankful!!! by hmohammed(m): 3:20pm On Apr 23, 2016
4Play:
The sad thing is their obliviousness to their profound economic illiteracy. He puts up an article about the ill-fated move by the Egyptian government to fix exchange rates, instead of leaving it to market supply and demand to determine as economists recommend, and proclaims that this illustrates that the Nigerian government is vindicated!

To the contrary, the Egyptians are doing what the Nigerians are doing and are predictably failing. The fact that they have chosen to devalue a bit doesn't refute the fundamental diagnosis - governments cannot simply fix echange rates unless they have sufficient forex reserves to back it up. Nigeria does not have the reserves to fix the Naira at a particular price level so insisting on doing so will cause unnecessary hardship and creates opportunities for corruption via round-tripping. Why is this so difficult for Nigerians to understand?
So wen you know that our major proem is dat we don't have enough forex, that means a devaluation of the Naira will not solve our problem and that is exactly what the OP iss talking about.

Why are you so hostile? It seems we are talking about two different things, I'm talking about KPMG Auditing/Financial services. An external auditor is an auditor that does not belong to one company. Companies like KPMG hire us as an additional control for internal auditors.
Oga, ur story line appear inconsistent. I was with KPMG for 5yrs 3 month and left the firm few months back. The last time I checked, we have the IT unit and also the Internal Audit unit and not aware of the firm engaging an external to perform IT or internal control checks. The only externals we engage for the most part are property/PPE/inventory valuation expert.

I think for clarity sake; these are not the fulani herdsmen allegedly killing and raping across nigeria. These are bandits who steal cows. It's a whole cycle of violence-a sort of positive feedback loop- herdsmen loose cows and kill those who steal from them.
Extra judicial killlings from both sides won't stop the violence and also our borders are too porous. The fulani who are killing operate using dark as cover.
It's funny how nigerians interprete news to exactly what they want to hear. Ii really hate the way we act and think in this country. Maybe the probem is illiteracy

For how long shall we endure the gross incompetence of the emasculated EUNUCH and the diminutive-cum weak and uninspiring VP(errand boy) in aso villa??

Buhari is as useless and erratic as his rabid herders in the middle belt,

Had it been Nigeria is an aircraft, this incompetent, clueless, lying, diabolical, illiterate, jaundiced, myopic, paranoid and undemocratic Daura dwelling urchin would have ineffectually PILOTED us down the abyss of Atlantic ocean

Ungrateful u say? So a governor serving his ppl shud be thanked and worshipped for carrying out his mandate? It's u guys mentality up north that wateva crumbs ur leaders give to u u shud be very grateful for it, this is why ur ppl are not demanding of their leaders and live in perpetual poverty hunger and disease!
I agree that there is a lot to be done up north, however I also know that there is also a lot to be done in the fulll country. The problem with the SS and SE people. Is that they turn themselves to umpires, judges and refrees in other people's state without taking time to look inward at their own states. In the end, they will come out to scream marginalisation this and that. Please go and develop a score card for ur governors in your own state. They say charity begins at home.

It appears u guys lack basic understanding. I don't care about the revenue earned from the sale of crude, what I am saying is that they should stop destroying gas pipelines needed for electricity generation. These are pipelines built by the Nigerian government.
PoliticsLagos In Darkness As Militants Damage Escravos Gas Plant by hmohammed(op): 9:00pm On Jan 16, 2016
Lagosian, we are in for a long thing as I just heard on radio that Tompolos boys have damaged the chevron escravos gas plant. This is a major gas source for Egbin power plant which supplies a significant portion of power to lagos state. I think it is high time our president **** order the arrest of Tompolo as no man is bigger than Nigeria
We really no longer depend on this oil to run the economy based on the recent proposed budget.
House please what is your take on this as I am very sad about this development.

The only way APC will get the heart of igbos, is when they put federal infrastructure in Igbo land. Just as the car is useful to users of motor vehicle, so is the hijab useful to its wearers. Saying 80% of suicide bombers are on hijab doesn't prove that the ban of hijab will end terrorism/suicide bombing. It also does not prove that hijab aid suicide bombing.

As for cars, the Abuja Police Headquarter suicide bombing(2012) was done with a car. The UN bombing also with a car. The recent Iyanya bombing in Abuja was also with a car. The bombs are transported through cars and other vehicles. Boko Haram move around with cars. So should usage of cars be banned?
