AZeD1: We keeping doing the same things over and over again while expecting a different result.
For the BRT to be successful, you need the bus manufacturer to have a factory in Lagos. I don't care if its Innoson or a foreigner.
You also need to have strict inspectors. If a bus leaves and comes back with its mirror broken, the driver has to file a report and if the issues was caused by driver recklessness, then they pay for the damage. Did you read the news at all. Mr Sabi |

Agriculture › Re: Rice Production In Nigeria Hits 15 Million Tonnes — Official by hmohammed(m): 11:51am On Jan 03, 2018 |
Ratello: Local rice production in Nigeria has now reached 15 million metric tonnes annually, the government has claimed.
It said the development means the country will now be saving about N300 billion it used to spend annually on importation of the commodity.
The Director of Agriculture at the Kano office of the Federal Ministry of Agricultural, Muhammad Adamu, made the claim on Tuesday while inaugurating the Rice Millers Association of Nigeria, (RIMAN) in the state.
He said in Kano alone, 1.2 million metric tonnes of rice was produced in 2016.
He said with the significant increase in local productions and the efforts to make the local variety qualitative and more attractive to Nigerians, the country expects to begin exporting rice to West African countries by 2018/2019.
Mr. Adamu said about 34 states in Nigeria are producing rice, with many now producing three times in a year.
He disclosed that investigation carried out by the Federal Government revealed that rice imported to Nigeria are 10-15 years old and and are preserved with chemicals which can cause cancer to consumers.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Rice Miller’s Association, Peter Dama, said, the association was established to promote local milling of rice that is fresh, healthy and nutritious.
He said the association is willing to collaborate with the Nigeria Customs Service to stem smuggling of expired rice into Nigeria.
Mr. Dama added that the association intended to work closely with regulatory agencies and policymakers to ensure standard in local rice milling.
The Customs officer in charge of rice enforcement, Ado Hassan, warned that Custom officers caught conniving with rice smugglers would have themselves to blame.
He said that in less than one year, the zonal command of the agency confiscated 800,000 bags of rice in Kano and Jigawa states.
He said about 9000 bags of the rice are still in the stores of the agency, adding that most of the rice were being given to internally displaced persons after been certified fit for consumption by the National Agency for Food and Drugs Administration and Control, NAFDAC.

Politics › Re: FG Owing IMO And Abia States 9.7trillion Naira ( Proceeds From 42 Oil Wells ). by hmohammed(m): 8:24pm On Dec 27, 2016 |
caleboxylic: Abuja—The controversy over the return of 42 oil wells from Rivers State to Abia State continued over the weekend as the principal consultant to Macfredricks & Oneal, Jonny Maduafokwa described as false, claims by former governor of Abia State, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu that he fought for the return of the oil wells.
Orji Uzor Kalu Maduafokwa Motherfucker said his organization started the process for the return of the oil wells ceded to Rivers State by the Justice Mamman Nasir 1976 Boundary Adjustment Committee for and on behalf of the governments of old Imo and Abia states.
The oil services expert further claimed that as an aftermath of the recovery of the wells, the Federal Government is yet to pay to the old Imo State and Abia State their accrued revenue amounting to about a whopping N9.7 trillion naira from 1976 to 1991 and from 1991 to 2001.
“I read with rude shock and utter dismay, an article purportedly authored by the former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu that his efforts gave rise to his achieving the successful recovery of 43 oil wells that were erroneously credited to Rivers State without telling us the how and when he came by the information he claimed were at his disposal.
“Ordinarily, I would have left the story to pass without bothering to react but for the erroneous impression it will create on the minds of readers as well as for posterity.
“Orji Uzor Kalu indicated interest in the project and requested a briefing on the subject and he was accordingly briefed and the parties entered into a contract. To cut the story short, I executed the contract to the letter and finally, 95 crude oil wells were retrieved and returned to Imo and Abia States”, claimed Madufokwa, who also listed the affected wells with their coordinates.
On the proceeds of the ceded oil wells for about 31 years, the principal consultant said; “It is instructive to note that once the dispute arose between the old Imo State and Rivers State, over the oil wells and who owns what, the Federal Government stopped payment of monies as derivation, and “locked-in” the said funds in an escrow account until verification is made as to who owns what.”
“Take for instance that it took 31 years for the oil well dispute to be resolved, but the issue remains that the derivation fund from the 95 crude oil wells put “locked in” in an escrow said to have accumulated to N9.7 trillion has not been released to the bonafide owners”.
He further advised the affected states to concentrate on how to get the federal government to release the money which he said will go a long way in bettering the lives of their people.

cjrane: I don't believe this information is accurate. But i hope it is.
The problem however is the sheer NUMBER of LGAs in northern states. Kano State for instance has 44 LGAs while Bayelsa has just 8. The average northern state no matter how much desert has taken over the entire place has at least 15 LGA created in the middle of the desert just to collect federal allocation.
So if Bayelsa's 8 LGAs are slightly richer (because they produce oil) than each Kano's LGA, by sheer numbers, Kano with 44 LGAs or Katsina with 34 LGAs still collects more than 500% greater allocation from the federation account on their LGAs alone than Bayelsa could ever hope for. Oga what are u smoking. Do u realise that Kano does not get 13 percent derivation. Plls go and do ur research well. Secondly, do u want to compare the population in Kano with Bayelsa. Please think straight nigga |

Also how many times per week is ideal for a couple to have sex? Oga, I have been married for 6 years and I tell u dat this often times is very normal. You need to truely cut down d time. So it's d govt that shot herself in the leg . To me, one live is more significant to all the pipelines in Nigeria.
Mind you, what they are clamouring for now, is more of federalism. Let them have d larger stake over their resources. That's all. This northerners have 98% stake in their resources and are still calling for their death, using the boyscout military who specializes in terrorizing civilians. ZUBY77: Lagos with their flashy cars and shinning uniforms with blaring Olamide songs won't go into the farms where the terrorism is happening. We know who the real security men are now.
*** In the domain of the shinning and smiling flashy Lagos Police, robbers rob banks, people snatch ladies bags, Agberos extort money from passers-by, Igbos and their neighbours fight in the markets daily, fire guts markets and buildings, cult members kill each other etc. What do the shinning gentlemen do? They come to work with doughnuts, burgers, polished shoes and go to breaks occasionally to have some cold beer. Even DPOs host their girlfriends in the station offices.
*** You see those Fayose Warriors, The Libyan Herdsmen will leave Ekiti whether they like it or not. The reason is simple, we know their leader Murmur Ghadafi is dead to us since he hasn't said anything serious about his countrymen who is invading Southern Nigeria with guns and cattle.
If all the southern states adopt the #FayoseIdeology, we will drive the Libyans back to their home country. We just hope our Fulani brothers will allow them passage way through their lands back to Libya because they allowed them to pass on their way in.
A few more fights would break out eventually between them and the Warriors, a few more people will die as a sacrifice for the living, after all "Everything gives up something once in a while." But the final fact is that they will leave Ekiti eventually because you can't go into a bloody war with your landlord and remain in his house after, no matter who was right or wrong. If only we can do an analysis of the likes on this comment, then you will see tat 90 percent of it emanates from the SE people. What a pity |

eyeview: Welcome to the style of governance of Fashola. The man is one that always believe that if something must be achieved, the fee for it must be increased(regardless of what you've been paying for it and its actual ability to solve the problem). This is a man who on assumption of office as a minister swore that until the power consumption tarriff is increased, regular power supply can't be possible. Today(against the directive of the NA and the wish of the consumers) he has increased the tarriff and yet the power supply has gone from bad to all time worst while we still pay the increased tarriff. His modus operandi is this: He will promise heaven and earth once the people will accept the fee and taxation. Most people will accept it as long as the problem(like bad road or power outage) is fixed. You pay the new fee,he puts up a make belief solution, everybody accepts it and in no distance time it fells back to how bad is used to be but by then we have gotten used to paying the new fee(which ofcourse is shared by him and his masters and cronnies). The man always run an inhuman policy that seek to impoverish the people further more. Nigerians,we give you Babatunde Raji Fashola So tell us, what went from bad to worse in Lagos. Lets hear you |
