Fellaini's goal might have stood
abidal is a left back. . . . .not a centre-back. eboue was a right back before sagna joined you guys. he was playing his natural position last night, same as djourou. abidal's natural position isn't centre-back. just because darren fletcher has played as a right back before does not mean it's his natural position. it's not arsenal's fault barca had no strength in depth but for any gaynner to rant arsenal played the strongest barca side in recent times is stupidly exaggerating and toolishly overstating the issue.
Don't blame any arsenal fan
Blame the Press for calling this Barca team the greatest ever
But come to think of it, I can't blame the press
Remember this was the same team that beat Real Madrid 5-0
Not just Real Madrid oooh
Real Madrid coached by the self dubbed 'special one' Jose Mourinho
When the draw was made, even the most optimistic Arsenal fan felt it was game over
and that it could even be worse than last year.
16 games winning streak is a new record in Spain!
Not taking anything away from Barca, Arsenal was passed to death y'day.
But we won 2-1, which is what matters.
Its half time
We don't know what will happen at the Nou camp in 3 weeks time
But come on, give this team some credit for beating barca
and stop talking up Puyol like he is the best defender in the world.
He couldn't have done better than abidal last night!
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Manchester United Fan Thread: In Fergie We Trust! by HNIC(m): 5:40pm On Feb 17, 2011
they all played last season when the aggregate was 6-2. my point is, barca played a champions league game with a make-shift defence. agreed vermaelen and sagna didn't play but their replacements weren't strikers or midfielders or full-backs. eboue(sagna's replacement) is a right back and djourou(vermaelen's replacement) is a centre-back. try playing clichy or gibbs in the central defence in a champions league game and see what happens afterwards.
Jeez Cougar
did someone steal your password?
Are you saying you have never seen Abidal play at CB for Barca?
Abidal was perhaps, one of the best players on the field yesterday
Played better than Pique IMO
The last gasp header by Abidal to deny RVP a goal in the 1st half from a Cesc cross was one of the best defensive play of the entire match.
Eboue is far, far behind Sagna as we speak.
Ours was more of a makeshift defence compared to Barca
and my friend, forget last year, even a blind man knows the Arsenal have improved.
Last year we had a quarter fit Gallas playing and Silvestre,Dennilson and Bendtner started at Camp Nou
RVP finally got to play against Barca!
barca without puyol is the same as man utd without vidic/rio. abidal(left back) had to play as a centre back - that should tell you how weak barca were last night.
Ok
We played a Nasri just coming back from an injury
Tomas Vermalen(our best defender) did not play
Bacary Sagna(1st choice right back) did not play
Who knows what will happen if they had been available

How can a team holding a high line be said to have parked the bus? shocked shocked shocked

Another smash hit from Cougar! grin grin grin
Some of his comments are shocking!
Even the Arsenal haters all over the world gave it to Arsenal yesterday
Now someone is telling us we parked the bus while holding a high line
I have never seen such contradiction in a single sentence.
Next, it was the ref that did us favours.
What else,it was the green outfit Barca wore,it was because  it was played on wednesday instead of Tuesday
you are a tool for thinking a barcelona side without puyol is better than any that has faced any other premier league side previously. you played one of the weakest barca team yesterday and that was why you won with the aid of a dodgy line assistant. at 2-0 in the first half, the match would have been effectively over.
@Cougar
Please enlighten us on the highlighted.
We played a weak Barca team because Puyol did not play.
You are just a bitter soul

Immediately Rooney scored, the first thing I muttered under my breathe was 'We no go hear word again'.
The frenzy won't end for a long time.
The skysports commentators are the most nauseating
Each time anyone tries a 'Shangalow' now, next thing is 'Does he think he's Rooney'? shocked shocked
I expended much energy trying to make sense of the Citeh game yesterday.
Statements that constantly woke me up were 'Citeh still suffering the effect of the Rooney goal",'Rooney's goal still the best this season',bla bla bla shocked shocked shocked
My mate's 'shangalow', with which he scored the winning goal last saturday in our 'saturday, saturday footie' pass Rooney's goal. grin

Gomez vs RVPhuh
It's like comparing Jim Iyke with Denzel Washington tongue
On to today's game, just like A-40 said, it will be crazy to go gung ho against Barca.
We could be hit badly on the counter.
Jack and Song should sit in front of the back 4 as much as possible and Theo+Andrei will have to play the game of their lives while tracking back to help the full backs
Trust Cesc and RVP to do their thing.
RVP has not played against Barca previously.
Hoping he hits them hard today.
I think our starting 11 will be Wojiech,Koscielny,Djorou,Clichy,Sagna,Jack,Cesc,Song,Theo,RVP and AA23.
I think Nasri would be introduced later.
Come on Gunners
