Unsolicited advise to ensure your grazing field doesn't breed super bugs from your rotation of antibiotics and antiparasitic.
a. Try sending fecal samples as well as tissue samples in cases of abortion or neonatal death to the nearest laboratory for disease process finding, egg worm identification , counting to help with proper choice of medication. UI vet clinic may be one, or reach out to animal care in lagos or ogun state, they have reliable and dedicated officers you can liase with.

b. You can look into creating a management system for calves in situations the dam is lost. you can customise your own calf (cattle)/ Lamb hutch system, this may mean adding calves or lamb from your supplier to ensure the cost of raising them off the dam is not exhorbitant. when well perfected, this will help your ranch in the long run when your flock population gets into thousands.

c. You can also get a reasonably priced microscope and necessary samples to do your own in-house testing/ necropsy to compare with the labs you pay to do the specialised findings. Small small ministry they enter permanent ranch.

c. In a few years your flock size should get bigger beyond your reach, it's a blessing, also it has the risk of becoming a super spreader. Be mindful of this. Stay blessed!!!

We may as well be experiencing the end of a duopoly in aircraft carriage by the turn of this decade. Money is on China's COMAC. If i was an airline chief executive or aviation school in Africa, I will pay rapt attention on R & D, seek opportunity for partnership. China is doing the heavy lifting anyway, cost implication on your part will be how well your negotiation skill goes. chalk it up to placing order for planes (wet/dry/ outright purchase), set up aviation grant for your upcoming team members interested in batches. The benefit if properly executed is a multi generational benefit that outweighs the upfront huge cost.

This should create a niche of competitive advantage in aviation on the continent. It's a matter of when not if, this will be the first time in a long while this field is open for partnership.

From the look of things, the refinery will be supplementing for a while considering loan for crude sales schemes from buhari and tinubu dispensation has the Country's quota of crude oil available for sale down to about 200,000 barrel per day (estimate here, sources not reliable ). IOC have their own quota to supply as well. Be mindful of the 60:40 NNPC/ Joint-venture IOC sharing ratio of daily crude oil distribution.

The approach to resolve import will likely be one of the following :


a. Future Crude for loan schemes by the Government should be drastically reduced. Instead, open a similar scheme for Dang refinery equity - crude swap. (Downside: there will be huge outcry of Monopoly. )

b. Negotiate with IOC's. cost and currency of payment will be the challenge of negotiation.

c. From the look of things, for total independence, Dangote refinery will have no choice but to go into stand-alone or JV exploration in years to come here in Nigeria. In the mean time, opening a commodity trading firm is the way to go to meet the refinery needs. His bestie Otedola sure has wealth of knowledge of things not to do in that field.

d. If sanction isn't an issue, Russia sweet urals should not be overlooked by dangote trading house for deals in the short - med term till IOC negotiation is sorted out.

Most Governors are in severe pains right now upon hearing this judgement by the Apex court. This is a welcome development! E sweet me die

Next step will be clear delineation of task and development under the purview of local governments. Else, state government will start saying some projects are for local government not state responsibilities. E.g Road repairs, local hospitals/ health centres ,etc.

This may be the right time for companies in renewable energy sector e.g solar up north to directly invest in local council areas to build farms win win investment.

Totally random boredom thought while reviewing some articles/papers on Energy (steel, ammonia, natural gas etc) no clear answer from findings yet , will need to review deeper in coming weeks to years on how this play out in our local market as well as foreign market. Local public companies in Oil & Gas are not included in this thought considering they are already spoken for.

I. Steel, copper, Lithium, [Natural gas, Ammonia (has other use case for every day life in agriculture, shipping, preservatives, etc) converted to Hydrogen] seem the backbone of energy of the future.

II. Next question logically is which business is/are positioned for this moves now or working towards it for future gains . publicly listed companies in India, china, US are favourites. Nigeria has loads of catch up to play.

III. Local Conglomerates positioned to benefit include Dang fertilizer (about 3 million MT ammonia capacity per annum). BUA Iron and steel company not publicly listed seem positioned for winner takes all considering the parent company will have all it needs in terms of energy supply and shipping /logistics for importation and exportation as required.

IV.Deliberately avoided stating anything about ajaokuta steel as well as Notore chemical coy (need to scale up capacity from about 330,000 MT per annum).

V. more to be added as train of thought process findings.

VI. Added thoughts on Aug. 8th '24 : interesting players to keep eyes out in energy transition play: uranium and metallurgical coal for steel
** Uranium miners is an interesting play to look at for possible exposure : Cameco (Canada) vs Palladin ( aussie ) vs Russia by the way of khazastan (jury out on this diamond in the rough)

*** Metallurgical coal producers looking to get exposure to in coming months (List not exhaustive) in australia (BHP), china (shenzua and CNG energy), Coal India (india), CHF (Glencore), US (Consul energy vs peabody still need to do more finding of competitor)

Time open all scabs. Not surprised by the false narratives of GSK using fx as excuse. those who followed the story know the claim was not adding up.

This should open up avenue for growth for local Pharmaceutical Companies as standalone production of nebulizers along with the array of biologics they produce or distributing partnership. Is it an uphill task , heck yeah. is it doable yes.!.

Since the ministries want to be unfortunate being deliquent, they should wallow in darkness till they get their bills paid or they should source for alternative form of energy. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the heads of the respective MDA/ ministries have siphoned or diverted the funds into fixed deposit (that's the usual way of fct civil service)

*** In Nigeria, steady rate (both inflation and interest) should be seen through q4. Albeit unlikely, earliest interest rate cut should be seen in Q4 (November the last meeting for the year). Over subscription of MM, Fixed income instruments should be the norm.

*** US, - no change in rate. Neutral at this point (opinion may change after July ending meeting and Jackson hole meeting in August, highly doubt it)

III. Broader markt for US Election: narrowed down my Option play choice to the following : exposure will be very minimal

a. XLE ( end of summer mid 90's call)

b MSOS - the idea is to play around DEA rescheduling of c.sativa which should have impact on the industry. will make decision by end of the month or next if pricing makes no sense to one's advantage.

c. PLTR and DJT decision will be made by august.

IV. Focus is mostly on startups crowdfunding (anything outside Major AI is fair game)

I beg to differ, they have not even scratched the surface of mega wealth potential, Dangote's goal is possibly to be at par with ARAMCO (long way to go, but it is not going to be acheived by p-footing, but by taking the opportunity as it comes and run with it all the way). This is a neglected bloc on the community of nations,The caricom bloc need the produce and can pay for it , it only make sense for the team to push to gain more market share.

Top three request hopefully gets sorted out by this government viz:
I. LG Fiscal autonomy
II. State Policing implementation.
III. Modified regionalism that allows for fiscal responsibility /autonomy of regions with appropriate power of unitary mode of government. (I am open to learn from folks that have better knowledge on this issue)

There are multiple brokers. I use mainly Investment one so i linked my account through the NASD app while UCAP is backup but hardly use it. I can't remember the last time i sent instruction email. I just load up my account through bank transfer or debit card, etc

After finding out who your broker is, you can download the app, sign up , then reach out to NASD support team (use the chat with us option on the nasd webpage) to help with completing the verification process with your broker. Sometimes it takes a bit of nudging on both NASD and your brokers part to complete the whole process Voila, you can trade whenever (ofcourse liquidity is a challenge for most ,but not all) Enjoy!!

One of few NASD stocks with reasonable liquidity, this is not as liquid as companies listed on NGX. Tread carefully if not involved for the long haul. check the company investor relations webpage for annual report copies to review the business.

No auto DRIP/SCRIP options available yet on NGX. some companies offer manual scrip-dividend, but sometimes takes longer to ratify vs you buying the shares yourself with the dividend paid. We should probably see DRIP / Auto-scrip option become normalised within the next 2-4 years . AELP is what is on the regulatory bodies mind for continental cash-out.

Devolution of power / autonomy of LG is over due.
