yMcy56:Responded to email sent. yMcy56:Touche!!! I hear you on Morgan capital, i still use Morgan capital myself, the non-existent consumer finance option is something they need to address. I figured trying out different brokerage houses for their respective consumer finance services to see how they treat you irrespective of your pocket. Not impressed so far.. |
yMcy56:sometimes you wonder if dis lot are not interested in working, why apply for a job to make the life of clients a living hell. 9 times out of 10 the group of staff handling Lagos office email <customerservice@unitedcapitalplcgroup.com are useless like P in cupboard. Every mail i send involves the following email list: info AT unitedcapitalplcgroup.com cec AT unitedcapitalplcgroup.com ibadanoffice AT unitedcapitalplcgroup.com ucapitalabuja AT unitedcapitalplcgroup.com Then i BCC => Sec AT sec.gov.ng. There are two personnel in the western region office that seem to be responsive average at best. send a blank email so I can send their email and numbers if you need to (for their privacy, can't share their personnal info here) |
Adinije:I dont know much about telegram , so not sure how it works. Discord server is an alternative to try ( audio, rooms, video screen sharing, etc). I use this for almost everything in my daily online dealings viz: professional colleagues meetup , sh*tposting, gaming channel. Be mindful to be ready to have moderators that are fair to avoid distracting the channel. Add me if you decide to go that route. At this rate, Seun will never learn from his mistakes. a mine with diamond turn cesspool due to negligence #TaleofNAIRALAND. You can have several channels there (e.g Treasury bill channels, Nigeria stock channel where you can have deep dive convos on particular stock etc). It's more immersive from experience. This is an avenue for members here who have whatsapp channels or telegram to consider using Discord ---> (This is a Suggestion not endorsement). To keep the spirit of NSEMPA , Keep it free. Whoever wants to offer paid service, can do so on his or her volition behind a paywall separately. |
chimex38:per usual. No free lunch anymore, more revenue generation for NGX => trickle down to value for NGXgroup shareholders ... so long as brokerage fee result in reasonable dividend for shares held (e.g if united capital, stanbic, etc increase brokerage fee, so long as it trickles down to shaeholders fund and to certain extent dividend), we'll be alright. |
Meerahbel:Awon stubborn NASD group , that is Aradel interim dropping . enjoy till next year agm ![]() |
BabsO2:With upcoming rate cuts starting possibly first half of 2024 in the US and contagion across the world, christmas came early. Financials may be back on steroids to attain reasonable book value pricing. How it translates to NGX during re-capitalisation era should be fun to see. |
emmanuelewumi:Oga at this point, Na to disengage sure pass till moderators do the needful. it's like watching Tom and Jerry. Sieve through the BS on the thread, do the little one can in answering/asking questions / giving info. there's stress IRL, to be stressed online as well *in lil duval's voice* No can't do, i can't go for that |
DrAwo:Good listen !! |
Nigerialabalaba:The statement of "only mining company that has mine" is not true, Thor exploration is a "Canadian" company based in nigeria (Though listed on LSE and Canada),it has gold mines in Osun state, Lithium exploration is underway as well. |
vacanci:Capital Adequacy Ratio of 10 per cent for national and regional banks, while banks with international authorization were instructed to uphold a 15 per cent regulatory capital adequacy ratio. |
Tranquility2345:All this person did was ask a question about calendar, answer the question or keep pushing. quoting unrelated post is just trolling at this point. Live and let live. |
mrkings84:Nothing new, people migrate on daily , The population of Nigerians exiting the country annually is not up to 5 million. There just seem to be overhyped talk about the whole process. APOLOGIES FOR THE SCATTERED BRAIN WRITE-UP (THE THOUGHT PROCESS IS LIKE A WAVE) The central government will be doing the major lifting for any of the suggestions below to work I. The moment Government see health care as a business in itself, and the revenue that can be generated , they will wake up or private sector will slowly encroach and eat the big pie . II. Health insurance companies for massive enrollment of the populace. penetration of the informal sector will be key to it's success because that is where majority of the population function. III. Major challenge for government and private institution will be funding and how to recoup their respective funding when they massively invest. Because we know IV. logistics and funding may be challenging with this idea: Government can create institutions strategically in each state for Residency programs in all states. Federal medical centers in the country can be the residency / fellowship hub to cater to at least 5000 residents / fellow for starters ( that is a huge payroll the Federal Government will have to face considering most states are useless when it comes to footing bills) V. upon completion of residency, access to private practice loan for continuity is the way, else all the above na banza. |
jedisco:Do as you please with the information given. I'm not going to waste time with this naira devaluation or inflation talk on this thread. It amounts to whooping a dead horse at a race track. Shalom! |
Streetinvestor2:Nothing stops NNPCL getting more equity to add to the |
delvzy:we are all for one another. Also, if you have not done so, go through this thread from a few years back, you will be surprised by the gem of info it has and answers to questions you have. |
Agbalowomeri:Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Sadly, no matter how much warning or caution is given, school fees must be paid, it's like rent (renters or mortgage), everybody must pay at some point . Side note, do you care to share the meaning of the name AGBA-LOWO-MERI ? |
delvzy:I don't have NGX ETF in my portolio,The reason is i am at the mercy of NGXgroup adjusting stocks meeting certain market capitalisation to be on the benchmark of a portolio like NSE30 . I will rather choose when to sell all my position at my discretion. Over time my portfolio is like an index fund tailored to my conviction. Suggestion to a newbie is figure out what your goal is viz: capital appreciation, steady dividend, etc . Tailor your goal around your circumstance. Everyone in the market is after capital appreciation and profit sharing from their respective investment. I. ETFs that pay distribution - Stanbic ETF30 be mindful of the fees (expense ratio) attached to investing with them though. II. Mutual funds - higher fees compared to ETF which may cut into your profit margin over time but that is the price you pay for having the financial house manage your funds for you. There are bunch of products by different financial houses i.e stanbic, united capital, etc if you have any particular one in mind, ask, someone here will be able to answer based on experience (personal or vicarious) III. One suggestion to start with use the NSE30 as a guide in building your portfolio. Split your fund to 60:40 or 70:30 as you may deem fit to stable and consistently paying dividend companies : growth companies. I will go as far as splitting the dividend companies into monthly brackets so you know over time you have bucket of dividend almost all year round except for january if PZ ends up delisting. While 30% you use as dry powder sitting in a money maerket fund or use to buy shares of growth companies as you deem fit based on conversation here and you doing your due diligence. there's more to be said, but can only say based on questionasked. Shalom!! |
lexy2lexy:received today.. |
jedisco:Returns talked about here is weighted in naira. check out morningstar (search NSE all share nigeria), you can check out investing.com for daily /weekly or monthly return up to 2004 i think. The last 3 years pretty much an anomaly. |
AdelankeAyomide:key word Average S&P500 annual average return ~ 7-9% NSE average return ~ depends on data you look through ranges between 6 -12% NASDAQ average annual return ~10.9% Figure out your goal (dividends? growth? short term? long term investment?), this will help with planning accordingly. It's best to have exposure to both markets with well understood risk :reward ratio to avoid disappointment. Do not invest the amount you are not willing to see down the drain. Nigerian stock exchange : invest in what you understand or able to research to avoid FOMO into trouble. check out Nigerian stock market pick alert thread. Whatever you do, save yourself the hassle, open account with Nigerian brokerage house for this. US stock exchange: If you are non-resident for tax purposes, be mindful of 30% witholding tax on your dividends witheld at source compared to 10% in Nigeria stock exchange. While no capital gain tax on profit from sales of shares. Bamboo seem to be legit, as for exchange rate either way you win wether devaluation or strength happens to the naira so long as your investment is properly done. To avoid derailing the thread specific questions may be answered here . |
lexy2lexy:not yet on my end. @streetinvestor2 i just reached out to a friend to get response on the current info about the other charges pertaining direct cash settlement . I will have it here as soon as i get response to avoid confusion / wrong information. Update Nov 24: @streetinvestor2 Fee Structure Fees (%). Buy Side Sell Side NGX Fees 0 0.3% CSCS Fees 0.3% 0.3% SEC Fees 0.3% 0 Stamp Duty 0.075% 0.075% Brokerage Commission 0.75 –1.35% 0.75 –1.35% |
Streetinvestor2:Yes they do 0.3% on Sales + 7.5% VAT ( not sure if this has changed in recent time though). on a lighter note CSCS, SEC, brokerage house commission dey always pain me every time i see dem deduct money from transaction. To avoid the pain and annoyance every time, tashere equity for those entity calm the pain except SEC .Na abubakar money we dey use entertain abubakar. |
Lesson of Patience when working with a team vs working independently. The latter is the easiest |
safepaulooo:seem like a no-brainer.!!! Thanks fr this update.!. |
Niyijac:Notore back and forth has not been impressive over the years. Now it has Dangote to compete with in the urea production space. Cassava space may be one of its strength with IITA/ Bill gates research to get ti the market. as for grains it has BUA and Flour mill to compete with. As a trader no volume, as a LT investor -> keep an eye on it, nothing interesting for now to buy it. there seem to be marginal improvement in the energy generation space and fertilizer space as at 2022 report . looking forward to see what the annual report for 2023 fiscal yea says about operations. Edit1:31pm: If anything changes as stated with annual report, will update bias appropriately.!. |
unite4real:Thanks for chipping in, i am aware of the date of the transaction and thanks for your suggestion to kick rocks. |
