Politics / Re: Tinubu Signs Bill Returning Old Anthem Into Law by Hogwarthtrades: 1:14pm On May 29
Let the generation hail thee sing hail thee (They are wilting away like tumbleweed in whirlwind anyway)

Let generation Arise o compatriot sing arise. (When you take up power, you repeal back to arise)

For national / international stage - sing what you know or keep quiet.
Arise yesterday, arise today, Arise forever.

Are there Registrars or Stockbrokers that have an automated system for dividends re-investment?

No auto DRIP/SCRIP options available yet on NGX. some companies offer manual scrip-dividend, but sometimes takes longer to ratify vs you buying the shares yourself with the dividend paid. We should probably see DRIP / Auto-scrip option become normalised within the next 2-4 years . AELP is what is on the regulatory bodies mind for continental cash-out.

Musings for May : Sectors to keep eyes out for growth 2nd half 2024 through Q4 2025 NGX

I. Mining sector - Thor exploration (AIM vs CA), Multiverse .
II.Finance (Banking and insurance) - DRIP for positions held, build on more
III. Oil &Gas - focus on local players onshore growth +/-
IV.Waste management - Great addressable market, not much serious players in the public investment space for competition; double edge sword for monopolistic tendency with winner take all.
V. Real estate - been on the hunt for two listings. Patient enough to keep piling allocation available to strike when offers available.

My Projects ahead to Focus through Q4 2025 :
I. keep re-investing in NGX . Looking forward to AELP taking hold in coming years, NGX may spur faster implementation by replicating similar moves made with ethiopian bourse across other markets + partnering with other viable bourse to create Market maker structure.

Risk: this creates room for grandiose manipulation all in the name of correcting market inefficiency.

II. The journey to expand exposure to three untapped exchange in emerging markets (will update as soon as all paperwork is completed) and crowdfunding marketplace for interesting ideas (fund raising should gradually pick up by Q1'25)

III. Edit May 29: C.Sativa DEA re-scheduling and US election stock pick play through options. should be clear by 3rd quarter for both. all eyes out.

IV Rinse and Repeat.!.

THis minister and his team must be applauded. Never knew Ministry of interior had functionality besides public holiday and prisoner food rationinig in this country up until this man appointment. Hopefully, there is some synergy with other department / agency for ease of flow and better experience at the airport.

The shameless begy -begy attitude by border patrol officers at the airport (Especially lagos airport) ought to be nipped in the bud. The lack of self worth and faux power trip by majority of the officers at Lagos int'l airport is Cringey AF!

There should be ways to carry out seamless flow of traffic inside and outsdie the airport. We will get there gradually Viva Nigeria!!

emkz:
I see what Tinubu's administration is trying to do.

Through SPVs from PPPs like we have with NLNG, which has consistently returned profits to the Nigerian state, Tinubu wants to simultaneously launch several ambitious projects nationwide.

We have seen this with the 2 proposed coastal road projects and now the building of fibre optic cable.

I also hear NIPOST may be restructured to become a profit-making agency.

1. NIPOST Properties & Development Company Limited. ..... This is according to one @OpeBee on Twitter

From incepttion, was expeecting NIPOST to Partner with JUMIA for last mile delivery option across the nation considering NIPOSt has the infrastrucutre that can be seriously built upon. So far, nothing on that front. Hopefully the DG and her team can tap into her experience in that space. Else, GIGL and Jumia will slowly take NIPOStLaunch and Dinner in the coming years.

Ogun state is like a dunce that has a smart family friend excelling in studies and making money from selling all tyoe of shit to school mate.Sadly, the thing the dunce only see the use of his friend for involves parties , having fun... nothing else.

If this trend continues without Ogun state resident getting serious in changing guards of its political class at helm of afffairs for a serious bunch interested in the development of the state as well as harnessing the most important economic corridor of power in the country. Crossing between lagos and ogun state will be like driving from tennesse through mississipi to alabama.IYKYK

Never seen an unfortunate state with 3 dispensation with nothing to show for it.

Someone go just buy 5,000,000 units of Zenith in one go fiam while others dey find money to buy 1 cup of garri @200. This life no really balance at all. Reckon, it is time a lot of us start opening or adopting a foundation to help out as much as possible.

if the 5mill unit buyer gets asked what he/she went through in the past, it will sound unbelievable when you hear their tale. As for opening a foundation, you may understudy TY Danjuma foundation. Also consider requirements and tax benefits for setting up NGo under CAC to avoid/ reduce personal liability in the future.

Universities/polytechnic (This may be a good time to payback your favourite lecturer / professor from your alma mater with research based professorial chair for the remainder of his/her tenure in that institution), Orphanage homes (to cover year round funding as pocket big reach), technical/ trade schools (open eye well or link up with a secondary school to fund a technical /trade school arm for interested youth), local hospitals are good beneficiaries.

Another option is to speak with trustee service of financial institutions who work with individuals. you decide what portion of your wealth gets disbursed monthly/quarterly/yearly. More blessings we pray so we can be a blessing to this nation and the world.

Experience: family home office project.

Please, does anyone know the percentage of assets of Nigerian banks with foreign operations that are domiciled outside Nigeria? This will help with valuations, with respect to the naira exchange rate fluctuation.

For instance, the better Assets growth rates of UBA (first) then Access vs Zenith may boil down to that.

quick look to annual report/ audited or unaudited financial statemenet (whichever you can lay your hands on) into the banks of your interest annual report should give you an answer to your question . E.g Access bank go through it's annual report between page 101- 108 they usually state asset and liability exposure, credit risk , equity risk, etc. You can also look at the financial instrument Fair value tables to get an idea of their valuation system of their asset home and abroad to give you an idea of what they are exposed to.

be mindful that some acquisitions may not show up if the deal has not been ratified by appropriate regulatory bodies.

Travel / Re: Foreign Airlines Are Underpricing Us - Alex Onyema by Hogwarthtrades: 9:42am On Apr 10
At this point, Airpeace should fight as dirty as they can to put this cartel like foreign airlines in their rightful place. It's high time Airpeace restructure it's marketing/ sales team, they need to use the power of Strategic NAtional ad campaign at reasonable cost for priority route they ply (easy to get hold of frequent flyers home and diaspora through their favourite celebrities and travel influencers) for the next 24- 36 months... Flood all Social and main stream media with ad campaigns (mixture of catchy ads for kids and expose political type ads to show what the foreign airlines are doing) .

The race to the bottom should be done sensibly else it will end up biting Airpeace in the butt. Hopefully the FG can look into Aviation industry incentive to keep our local airlines competitive.

You begin to wonder what ecological funds are used for in the northern states. This is a project where intercollegiate professor chair can be given in the north east to see how to incorporate syntropic farm hubs in urban areas and rural areas ( start at small scale then scale up). the state Town planning + agroforestry agency can be involved. You create jobs while solving the heat crisis. if this strategy is properly implemented, heat waves will be reasonably reduced and the rainfall days and length will increase within a decade. Challenging but feasible. It's not everything we will go cap in hand begging world agencies for .

Travel / Re: Price War: Ethiopian Airlines On Lagos -london Route Now Cheaper Than Air Peace by Hogwarthtrades: 6:10am On Apr 08
It ought to be a no brainer for Nigerians to fly the route Airpeace ply (Direct flight and patriotism). Support your own else in no distant future the choke hold tactics by foreign airlines will be used again. Those arguing about capitalism, did the same capitalsim escape the stupid foreign airlines before Air peace started.

No matter how much reason is given, Foreignitis (yes you heard the term here first, see how long before local newspaper take up the term) is real sickness that will take few generations to cure. In the mean time, for those that are priviledged to fly home and abroad , lets support the airline. While we expect Air peace will keep the bargain on their end. Shalom!!!!

We really need to learn to be patriotic and favour our Nigerian companies and goods . If you like patronize these foreign companies for over 20.yeaes they don't respect you or see you more than just a Nigerian. They will favour and respect their own citizens more than you. Learn to patronize and support Nigerian companies

Truly!! good turn deserves another, if Nigerians can pay ridiculous price for economy ticket by this airline-cartel it ought to be a no-brainer for us Nigerians to show Air peace 1000% support for every route they ply (economy, business class ticket should be booked all through the year. cause good problem !!) . If this Arseholes foreign carrier get away with this, in the nearest future, they will do even worse.

In the same vein, we hope Airpeace will continually keep up with the service it is known for (reasonable pricing to meet liveable and competitive staff compensation to avoid been poached by competition, etc ). Viva Air peace, Viva Nigeria!!
