femiasaolu2014: People are suffering in that country and it's not funny.
Even as a lady, who you would think some boyfriend/husband might be dashing money, why would an employer pay someone #16k/month?
A full-grown adult and not a toddler?
It's better if he should declare himself a slaver and look for free indentured labor.
Phuck that hell hole called Nigeria Whenever I get tired of this constant hustle in the west and think bout my other option having to go back to that Hell hole called Naija, I just take my L and keep it going... naija is not an option... it's sad but there is more hope for Banana republic now than Nigeria |

Saintmary: I can relate with what you posted.
Next time, try and avoid sole proprietorship businesses headed by men in Nigeria, but if you can't, only work through referral, someone who knows someone you know.
Please don't be discouraged. No be who get option go choose?? Most people dont care cos there are no other options.... if I see work now and I'm broke from a poor home, I go tell dem say no, cos na one man business and no referral, I wan dey wait for company work |

oluflourish: Sure, its been long for a long time and countries generate revenue through it, the Russia/Ukraine war made EU to consider putting embargo on those that boughy Citizenship by investments from the Caribbean having access to their country, there is so much background check and the prices are even going up. Am an expert in residency and Citizenship going offshore and investment... I will refer you to this post when that happens. Sale of passports from Caribbeans may not be sustainable in 10- 15 years from now. Well residency through investment might be sustainable because you have to reside, learn the language and people's culture, have an attachment and walk up to Citizenship When it happens, refer me to the post.... citizenship by Investment WILL NEVER go extinct here in the Caribbean.... their Economy will Literally collapse if it does....like a cookie ,it will crumble, and the Gov't knows that... these islands are Tourism dependent and Dont have much populations, They know that "selling" these citizenship is not only a great way to make money but also a good way to attract investors, mainly corrupt politicians from third world countries and Western country elites, how wants to renounce their citizenship to their home country to evade tax and yet have good passport to travel...I'm mot talking as an outsider... I LIVE in Barbados, and sometimes Brazil too... so south America and the Caribbean is my zone .. |

Nope... he wouldn't wait that long... he can get it in one year...I know 2 politician kids ,that got theirs in 3months.... they sch here in Barbados... and they say, you can get it for bout a year or so.. |

oluflourish: Yes I know that people buy Citizenship by investment, or residency through investments.. Even with US residency by investment, how many people will be able to afford it? Not so many will even donate about $150k excludes other fees to get a passport in the Caribbean. I don't see passport through investment sustainable in the long run. Some countries in Europe are trying to kick against it due to some countries that would just want to have access to their countries anyhow Well, just to let you know... its been around for a very long time... and will continue to exist for a very long time... I stay in the Caribbean, Barbados precisely, so I know wat I'm talking about.... these islands are tax haven for the rich, and that's how these countries make money outside tourism.... problem is, the guy wey ask the question fit afford am?? |

oluflourish: Good Analysis you wrote up there. But the truth is all good countries offer all the mentioned above. There is nothing special becoming an American citizen.. If you are an entrepreneur, financial analyst or into business, you will know in the financial aspect, its a huge burden and that is why good investors and entrepreneurs are renouncing their US Citizenship. You never mentioned how the US government will follow their citizens everywhere because of tax. You pay worldwide income and that is why there is a special form all banks gives you to fill as a US citizen. To some extent, US passport is a burden, believe it or not, Canada is almost going in the same direction. I have a daughter who is already a Portuguese by birth and a Brazilian son by birth and I currently have a Brazilian PR, and I prefer walking through Citizenship by neutralization either in Portugal or Brazil. My kids already have the opportunity to live anywhere in Europe and South America. I consider the two passport than an American Citizenship... Nobody hates a Brazilian, American passport carries some unnecessary attention. Is it free education or cheap schools, free healthcare, job opportunities, quality of life? etc, all good and progressive countries have it, also it's citizens that vote in an election everywhere.. Just give us cons of holding an American passport in regarding your financial aspect and let's compare. Why in Green Banana's sake will I need an American passport when Barbados passport can do pretty much the same thing and I wouldn't pay Income tax... visa free to All S/America countries, Asia countries, All Central and North America countries except ,The USA and ALL EUROPEAN COUNTRIES?? |

USA is a mad place... the media has so designed the American dream that ,it has becoming increasingly shocking, I have seen great folks lose their lives in the quest of getting into America.... staga: I live in Barbados. Went there with the Welcome Stamp last year. That visa is for remote workers. You can't work on the island with it.
Apart from the place being quite expensive (I pay $1000 a month as rent), I can tell you that Barbados is an example of a country that works. Not the shithole we call home. There are Nigerians here, but mostly those who are either married to locals, or students of the various universities here.
Virgin and British Airways operate flights from Lagos to Bridgetown, via London Heathrow Airport. You need a UK transit visa. I processed the whole stuff myself with no single agent involved. I got approved, paid the $3000 for the family version of the visa (issued electronically) and got the UK transit visa with not a single stress. Here, there are no illegals. The transit via London checks that so Nigerians are loved here just as if you are Bajan. Do not forget, most of them are descendants of African slaves who were freed and resettled. Many have Igbo ancestry, including Rihanna who is revered and treated like a goddess here.
Estonia, Croatia, Malta, Seychelles, Dubai and Cape Verde all have versions of this visa and they are cheaper. But for me, the choice was an English speaking country with a large black population so we would not have racism issues. I have not experienced any racism or xenophobia here.
Be careful of all these "i sabi" folks making all kinds of comments here. I did not come here on holiday. I live here now and very much integrated so I can tell you what is on ground. What part do you live?? |

Assetinvestor: We are about to make history and the next generations will hear about how youths of this generation took the bull by the horns and forced a peaceful change in Nigeria.
It would be a lesson to other African countries and indeed to democracies around the world that youths can bring about peaceful change to a government and a bad system if they're passionate about it. Nigeria would become a model of success story!
Revolution can still happen without bloodshed and destruction. This is our own spring and I pray nothing stops it!!! Keep deceiving yourself .. no Revolution can happen without Blood...as much as I want Obi to win, I refuse to keep switching oppressors every 4years....let this useless country be divided... makes no sense to keep it |
