PoliticsRe: South-east PDP Endorses Fuel Subsidy Removal by Holak: 7:48am On Nov 29, 2011
South East leaders constitute a bunch of dissapointment to the people. The only thing that influences there position on anything is what will keep them in the good books of the powers that be. I wonder how they can provide leadership by always pandering to the wishes of the President. If they are leaders, how could this their decision affect the common ma. Are they now saying that if subsidy is not removed, FG cannot execute the projects in the SE which they promised during their campaigns? We must describe them in the correct word: SHAME!
PoliticsRe: Newly Installed Cctv In Enugu by Holak: 4:18pm On Oct 06, 2011
We are still lagging far behind in this country. Let us assume that the CCTV will even deter crime, why should somebody turn it to publicity campaign. WHat innovation is therein. CCTVs are found in most organizations today. So, what has a state governor done by purchasing and installing some gadgets (with contract inflation) and the rest? Our yardstick for measuring government is so low that any dumb can be a governor and still be adjudged a performer. Just build one or two roads, install some gadgets here and there and you are a hero. They will thank you for not eating the money. The point is that we are still very far. Chime understands the psyche and knows how to get at the public to start dancing around while business goes on. Enugu metropolis is not the only place in Enugu State. What has Chime done in places like Nsukka? Paid apologists on NL should just pipe low please. It is not yet Uhuru in Nigeria especially the States.
PoliticsRe: Presidential Election Trial: INEC Insists That Jonathan Won by Holak: 7:46am On Sep 28, 2011
The point to be made here is that we we spent almost 100b naira to computerize elections. During the elections, people we feel we respect (professors and Vice Chncellors) were deployed to serve as collation personnel. They came and gave us unbelievable figures and everybody shouted free and fair elections. At the tribunal, CPC sought to subject te ballot to forensic examination and they refused. My questions: Why did we spend so much if we would not use biometrics to ascertain veracity of result and cannot prevent multiple voting? When there is a rigged election, why do we adjudge it as free and fair? If we do not call a spade a spade because of sentimens, vice will become virtue. Remember, the effort at electoral reform is cos people have been shouted foul at 2003 and 2007 elections.
PoliticsRe: Governor Of Enugu Did Not Impregnate His Sister-In-Law by Holak: 4:05pm On Sep 26, 2011
PointB:
It's means there is nothing the blogger can not do to make money. He could easily have said Alj Harem recruits suicide bombers for Boko Haram, and Hausa Mauraders to attack Jos, with photos to 'prove' it, unless Alj Harem gives him N 10m. But we all know that Alj Harem cannot do this, even though his words and ways points to that inclination. That's how blackmail works - get a potential fall guy!
PointB, I understand where you are coming from and have no need to try to convince you. When vested interests are involved, we kick and kick. If the rumour is about someone we are not inclined to, we accept without looking at any background. All I know is that it is a serious one and me and you cannot say whether it is true or not. Just wonder why it is Gov. Chime and why it is the sister-in-law? If there is no iota of truth there, then we shall know in the course of time. No need to give you some info since you have vested interest. But we shall see how it plays out.
PoliticsRe: Governor Of Enugu Did Not Impregnate His Sister-In-Law by Holak: 9:06am On Sep 26, 2011
The fact that the blogger tried to blackmail Mrs. Ekwunife does not mean the story of the governor's infidelity is false. I have heared this news sometimes before reading it online. While it is not proved, we cannot just push it aside. I believe there are many of the governor's apologists on NL but we continue probing until the truth is told. Any body who knows the governor should know he is randy, And he is saying he don't want to reply. Whyhuh
Nairaland GeneralEnugu State Website Has Not Been Updated Vis-a-vis New State Legislators by Holak(op): 4:50pm On Sep 22, 2011
I needed to get some names of current legislators in Enugu State and discovered that it still has the old House of Assembly members. How long does it take to update these records. A state official website! Is there no web master paid to do this job and what has this department been doing since almost four months? Why don't government systems work in this country? Please, webmaster, update the website. It was designed to give us information about government.
PoliticsRe: Constitutional & Electoral Act Amendment Are Priorities - Senate by Holak: 7:54am On Sep 14, 2011
The worst thing that has happened to this democracy is the Senate. They are a bunch of clowns who are just there for there selfish interest. Now it is about amending Constitution every time. And most of the amendments are politically motivated and selfish at large. The money we spend to maintain National Assembly is too much and I don't think they add any value. Going on recces everytime, then coming back to play around with the Constitution at will. We earn cheap money in this country. That is why everybody wants to become a politician and why elections are do or die.

Law making should at best be a part-time business. All these while they were on recces, we don't have any business paying them. Before the election, they went on recces. After the election, they went on recces. They were called back to screen ministers and after that, they said they did a very tedious job and went on 6 weeks recces. These are the kind of people whose behaviours are fuelling violence by unemployed youths because the liberty is just too much.

They spent four years to amend the Constitution and they will spend another four years to amend what they amended. Pure Jamboree, if you ask me.
