spongeisback: I've been seeing comments all day about Busola "trying to bring the man of god down" why didn't she tell someone earlier and it's obvious so many people didn't watch the complete video or they just choose to be willfully ignorant.
1) Busola was raped when she opened the door for pastor biodun in her own house. Biodun was her family pastor and he knew that her mom had travelled so he went to her house prepared.
2) Busola was 17 and according to Nigerian laws whether she consented or not she was raped.
3) Biodun was a married father and we all know how young ladies and gents go to pastors house to help and it isn't strange that his wife asked busola to come help her and she did.
4) At night biodun asked his wife to let Busola sleep in the guest room and she pleaded with his wife that she wants to sleep in the masters bedroom with her and his wife agreed and biodun later told her "no one rejects me"
5) He insisted on going to drop her off. Another premeditated rape occurred.
6) Busola finally opened up to her elder sister, when her elder sister confronted her with a dream she had. She said in that dream she saw Busola sitting on a couch soaked with blood and crying while biodun laughed. She told her family why had happened.
7) Busola's brother was so enraged that he went with knives to confront biodun and he was stopped by pastors from COZA which she named. They came to her house to beg her family and they forgave him not caring about Busola the victim. And after all these the family and Busola continued worshipping with COZA where her rapist is the pastor. You left that part. |

The last is eternally true. You just agreed totally with what he said. For whatever reason, no region has ever benefitted for having someone at the federal level. The point about Peter Obi is irrelevant because the same rule applies. |

Travel › Re: Lagos Traffic Taskforce Begins Clampdown Against Traffic Offender by Holak: 7:09pm On Jun 18, 2019 |
Good call to clamp on traffic offenders but I feel the penalties are not commensurate with the offences. What will happen is that the LASTMA officials will capitalize on this to extort bribes on motorists as it will be cheaper to negotiate with them. It is common to hear LASTMA officials telling you that the fine for your offence is 50k, then they will demand for half of it, from there you may end up paying 10k minimum. Assuming the penalty for the offence is 10k, you more offenders will pay to the government. Secondly, overzealous LASTMA officials will arrest people unjustly even for offences that are not tenable like changing of lane, they will say you are obstructing traffic. How does the court determine and prove cases because they will always tell you it is my word against yours. Even when they snap, it still does not prove such offence beyond reasonable doubt. Thirdly, it seems government and LASTMA are more interested in catching traffic offenders and fining them or sending them to jail than maintaining law and order. The governor should have started with sensitization. Again some road signs are not available or clear especially one-way and no U-turn signs. The LASTMA officials hide and wait for offenders to swoop on. But I support that people who deliberately and flagrantly flout traffic rules should be made to face the law. |

All this noise about the SW being the experts in playing Nigerian politics and trying to belittle the SE is really amusing and shows the debt of rational thinking we have. First, history doesn't support this claim. Between 2011 and 2015, the political positions were as follows: President - SS, VP - NW, SP - NC, DSP - SE, Speaker - NE, Deputy Speaker -SE. Where was SW then? South West have always played regional politics since Awo which has helped to develop the zone educationally. When did this obsession with the centre begin even with little or no effect on the real people? We usually go the direction politicians will like us to go. The youth are already insulting themselves because of 2023, unfortunately the names being thrown up will surely be about 70 years then. I am ashamed of Ohaneze demanding for SGF. To what end is this really apart from personal enrichment. What have regions benefitted for producing principal officers of NA or even the President and VP. Katsina alone has produced two presidents since 1999 yet bandits hold courts there. Today we are ranting and insulting SE even when we don't have any access to PMB, however, the president eats and dines with some SE politicians. There are only two tribes in Nigeria: The politicians and the masses. While the former understands what they want and are united in getting that, the later are enemies of themselves and only live to satisfy the cravings of the former. That is the tragedy of this contraption |

I expected same treatment to the current governor of Delta and Bayelsa states, who were returned almost unopposed. Voters must say NO to undeserving people, while parties take the lead.
We will get there surely.

Chikpat: When they say PMB has intergrity it si for things like this and others they really mean. No PDP would allow INEC work without interference. Obasanja used INEC to forcefully reduce opposition states from 19 to 7. Opposition controlled states increased through court orders not INEC's declarations under Yar' Dua and Jonathan. Jonathan's was even worse and will be rememvered for millitarising our elections to rig (the then already considered) PDP into power. And posterity will not forget his ignoble role in splitting NGF simply because Amaechi won him and his Jang guy in the NGF election.
Under this presidency, it can be seen that INEC is truly independent. Very biased conclusion. What is happening in Rivers State has never happened in the history of Nigeria. Go and check. We cannot ascribe integrity because a spokesman is blabbing here. We heard other spokesmen of the former Presidents you are mentioning and none of them was less in exonerating their bosses. |

The way people think has been so influenced and battered by stupid sentiments. When someone votes a candidate in an election, he is imposing such candidate. Between APC and PDP, can you prove that no Yoruba man will vote for PDP and no Igbo man will vote for APC? Why turn a clear political contest into an ethnic war because we allow politicians to lead every narrative in this country which is influenced by their selfish interests. Is Jimi Agbaje or Sanwo Olu from Igbo tribe? Please pause this foolishness and vote for your candidate. We made all this noise about Ambode, today the same people that threatened those who voted against Ambode turned around four years later to declare Ambode a non-performer. Today it is Sanwo Olu and the same drum continues. Whether Jimi Agbaje or Sanwo Olu wins, the common man in the street which comprises Igbo and Yoruba will be subjected to same conditions: Facing traffic and contention with tankers on the bridge; brunt of bad and poorly patched roads, menace of poor drainage systems and waste management flaws; harassment from legalized and government sponsored Agberos; poor transportation system etc. etc. These are not forming the basis for assessing the candidates, rather it is about the person the Igbos support and the one that the Yorubas should support and about who owns the land and who is a stranger. In all these the politicians have a field day, the contest is made easy for them, they are not called to sweat to even think of any policy to sell to the people. Just grandstand that you are the Yoruba candidate or that you are sympathetic to the Igbos and the war starts in that line. In the current APC government, both the Yorubas and the Igbos have become billionaires. There is no tribal difference when they eat together but the suffering masses kit themselves to fight for them along tribal lines. The masses are the enemies of themselves.
