hedonido: Nigerians are funny. In this country, any office is as powerful as the president wants the holder of that office to be.
Tunde Sabiu was just a personal assistant to Buhari, but he was more powerful than the Vice President, Senate President, NSA, and service chiefs combined.
Just as Obasanjo's Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Matters (Andy Uba) was the most powerful in his government.
Considering how much Ribadu seems to have ingratiated and enmeshed himself into this BAT's sinister inner caucus, of course he would likely be more powerful than all the service chiefs combined. Not necessarily because he is the NSA, but because HE is the NSA.
Remember the massive difference between Abba Kyari as Chief of Staff and the Kwara diplomat Gambari as Chief of Staff. It's never about the office, but always about the person occupying the office. Exactly!! |

Over hailing of this man will be his greatest undoing. He will be tempted to take uncalculated decisions to sustain the hailing. People should just call down.
The National Economic Council has statutory members, so the President is not appointing anybody. It is a council of the governor's and the Vice President as Chairman. |

Nbote: It's the usual format of looking for a scapegoat and chasing shadows to sell the narrative of seriously fighting for the people. The same way Dasuki was arrested and we were all happy only to find out it was just a witchhunt at the end and nothing was found on him. Isn't it ironic that of all the corruption claims of forex racketeering and the whole confusion of the naira swap policy, the DSS are charging him with a wire transfer to Afghanistan 1. Where's Hadi Sirika who commissioned a chartered and packaged airline, that's afta launching a logo for Billions and purchasing fire fighting trucks for over a billion naira each? 2. Where's the June allocation for subsidy? The previous govt budgeted subsidy for the first half of the year to the tune of about 7.8 billion in dollars (let's not even start about how they arrived at that figure despite NNPC and customs embarassing themselves over the actual figure of consumption) 3. How come petrol price was fixed at over 488 per litre when as early as March Melee Kyari on television in front of marketers said the govt pays N209 as subsidy on each litre of petrol to marketers as subsidy for the product. (Do the maths 195 + 209 will give you the cost of petrol after subsidy is removed). Are Nigerians being "codedly" taxed by the new government for petrol ?
These are the questions sane Nigerians should be asking but as usual, they will sell the usual narrative of working and sycophants and sentimental Nigerians (who only reason along tribal and religious lines will ignore all these) Just to add. We admit that fuel subsidy has been a racket all along with a group of people fleecing the country and diverting subsidized fuel to neighbouring countries. Who was responsible for managing fuel subsidy? Why has he not been arrested already? Emefiele is simply a scapegoat having come from a minority region. If we are not ready to overhaul the country, then we shouldn't even use others as guinea pigs. |

The truth and reality you losers dont want to face is that the North is important and influential in Nigerian politics while the SE is not.
Tinubu is not afraid of the North but iis the smartest politician in Nigeria and therefore understands the concept of leaders 'picking their fight' so they are not bogged down failingly.
He cannot casually make Northerners enemies ,needlessly and avoidably, to then hope to succeed. The smartest politician is one who avoids the truth in order to get what he wants. Smartest politician indeed! |

Though a selfish position, I totally agree with the position of the north.
The SE contributed nothing to the victory of APC, so they are in no position to be making any demands. They should wait for Obi to win at the tribunal to get their appointments. You can't be working in NEPA and expect to collect salary in Ministry of Agric.
On the other hand, the south slept over their rights when they allowed Buhari to appoint Northern Muslims as leaders in Senate, Judiciary, INEC, Army, Air force, Immigration, Customs, Finance, Petroleum, Maritime, Ports, Defence, Security Adviser, FCT Aviation and what have you.
Now, they put Tinubu their and are determined to get their pound of flesh and have no time to be diplomatic to any other region.🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 Igbos are not contesting for Senate President. APC zoned it to SS and not has come out to oppose it. It will do well for you to address the situation and leave the Igbos. |

For me, what the governor said is not really an attack on anyone. Size does not have to do with anything, rather he is using that to justify insecurity in this place which should have been the focus of this discussion. Ethnic prejudice is so rife in Nigeria and in most cases, we leave the substance of an argument and start discussing non-issues. And from the way people in Nairaland writes, I presume most are highly educated which raises more concern.
How come all our arguments have now been reduced to ethnic jabs and gauging who insults the others most. A governor just said some parts of his state are ungovernable and this did not strike a cord on us. So, to Kaduna State government, it is okay for those in that part of the state to die as long as it does not affect some parts considered as 'important'. Yet, this is the case in most states and the country at large. The government is not concerned with the security of lives of some areas or some class of people they consider inconsequential and all of us in this Nairaland falls in this category. How many of us are not living at the mercy of God in terms security and our leaders feel that as long as it does not affect the people that matter, they are fine. They are also telling countries like UK, Canada etc. that our problem stems from our population and because we are five times their size, it is okay for us to remain where we are. But we are interested in who is Igbo and who is Yoruba. Even when he said he used to joke with the SE governors (birds of the same feather), we choose to kill ourselves on top of their jokes and leave the substance. SHAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Christianity Etc › Re: My Experience Inside A Beer Parlour In Lagos by Holak: 9:43am On Mar 28, 2021 |
Interesting15: By Sunday Akanni
Some days back, after a prayer meeting with some brethren, some of us (all young believers) decided to share some tracts and share the gospel of Christ with those around the vicinity. While at the business, I saw a beer palor by the roadside and felt the prompting to enter there to preach. So I entered.
Inside the place, I saw people having 'fun', with loud music. I saw a young man sitting on a chair, taking beer. So I approached him and extended a tract to him. When he realized what I was there to do, he chose not to collect the tract, and decided to ignore me. But then, I started speaking the words God put in my mouth, and I did this in less than two or three minutes.
Strangely, before I finished talking, the guy's countenance changed, and he just started smiling broadly. Then he said something like "I love what I heard", before collecting the tract from me.
And so, it became much obvious to me that more people out there must hear the true gospel of Jesus Christ, and that there's an inherent power in the gospel to deliver the dirtiest unbelievers and sinners from sin, satan and hell. More people will come to the Light of Christ if we can place greater priority on the affair of soul winning.
Fellow believers, the message of the Kingdom of God is Good News that shouldn't be kept to ourselves. When we partner with the Holy Spirit to make unbelievers out there realise that GOD loves them so dearly and that He is all they need, more souls will be drawn into the Kingdom. "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" - Jesus Christ (Mark 16:15)
Don't try to win the lost with your own human wisdom, but partner with the Holy Ghost, Who will put the right words in your mouth. The words will hit the sinner vehemently, and a seed will be planted in them. When the veil the devil has placed upon their mind become eventually shattered (by the power in the Word of God), they will realise their dirtiness and the extent of the decay of their soul, and the reaction will likely be to break down in tears. Some others will suddenly realise how much LOVE God had for them, and instantly start beaming with Heavenly joy. The result? A celebration will ensure in Heaven! (Luke 15:10)
Let the world know that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6), and that the only way humans can find true fulfilment and joy is by maintaining an intimate relationship with God through Jesus Christ. It is a relationship with God that empowers us to have dominion over the earth in accordance with God's Will. This is the destiny of every human. Have a close relationship with Jesus Christ.
If you want to surrender your life to JESUS, simply do so now. Ask for His mercy, and sincerely tell Him, "LORD JESUS, come into my life". Your life will never remain the same. A true relationship with Jesus will give you victory over death, sin, satan and hell. GOD bless you.
https://www.sundayakanni.com/2021/03/my-experience-inside-beer-palor-in-lagos.html?m=1 So anyone inside the bar and drinking beer is a 'dirtiest unbeliever'. Well, what do I know. You are a saint already because you are sharing tract. |
