The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) says it has arrested two suspected human traffickers and rescued three of their victims in Katsina State.
The NIS Comptroller in the state, Mr. Ajisafe Joshua Olusola, disclosed this during a press briefing yesterday.

Olusola identified the suspects as Omoseyin Solomon, 43, and Omoniyi Olowoporoku, 32, all males.
He said they were arrested separately at Mazanya and Daura Patrol Border Base between January 17, and 19, 2019.

He said one of the suspected human traffickers, Solomon, claimed to be husband to his victim, Akinbayo Ashobi, a woman known to also be a human trafficker.

He, however, said that the suspects would be handed over to the service headquarters for further investigations and necessary actions.

A boy has been celebrated online after showing his ‘strength’ by killing a cobra which was found in his house in Kogi state, according to reports.

It was gathered that the boy armed with a machete, attacked the big reptile and reportedly killed it singlehandedly in Dekina local government area.
The excited boy identified as Frank posed with the cobra after cutting its head off – to the amazement of their villagers.

Last year, a Student of Delta State Polytechnic, Luke Erukakpome, escaped being killed by a Cobra in his toilet .

Erukakpome, a Student of Industrial Chemistry, who took to his Facebook Wall, to share the nasty experience, said it occurred in his Hostel, in Abraka, Delta State.

Pastors of a church that beats congregants in a bid to rid them of evil spirits, have spoken out. The men and women roll around on the ground holding their heads while the leaders beat them with sticks and fists. But, according to the pastors, it is not the people who are feeling the pain.

“We do not beat the flesh but the demon,” said Pastor Mlungwana Dlamini of the Holy Christ Church of Zion in Mofolo, Soweto, South Africa. This follows after two videos showing members of the Zion congregation being beaten with sticks emerged on social media.
One of the videos shows two men, wearing blue, holding big sticks and beating a man who is lying on the ground. A woman is dragged in and she too is beaten.

The other video shows church members singing in a church room. One man drags another and starts beating him up, with others joining in.
But Pastor Dlamini said this was normal in Zion churches. “This is how we cast out demons,” he said. He said the Zion church was one of the oldest churches in South Africa.

“People come to church with diseases but they leave cured. It’s because we can see the demons and beat them out. “Many of the people who beat others are prophets. They don’t decide to beat somebody because of a grudge. They beat you up to help you. That’s why no one is injured.”

Another pastor from the Holy Ethiopian Catholic Church of Zion, Pastor Shakaza Ngcobo, said: “There’s no crime in beating one another in Zion churches. “People come for that because they know once they are beaten they will feel refreshed.”

Mbalizethu Mkhize (28) from Mzimhlohe Hostel in Soweto said that she was sick and sure she was dying when a friend invited her to the church. “The prophets spoke in tongues. They dragged me into the circle and started beating me. “By the time I left the church I’d never felt better. I’m grateful for the beating.”

A suspected cultists was nabbed after allegedly stealing at gun point in Rivers state.

According to reports, the suspect and three of his gang members snatched a phone from a student at Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic (Port-Harcourt Polytechnic), Rumuola, Rivers state.

His accomplices absconded during pursuit as the suspect was apprehended.

A pistol was found in his possession. He has been handed over to the police for further investigation.

A Nigerian man was arrested in Atlanta Georgia last Friday morning in connection to online scams in El Paso County, Texas.

Officials with the El Paso County Sheriff's office said the suspect, Kelly Itive allegedly convinced two women to send him $78,000 over the internet.
Police said Itive was posing as a middle aged white man with an engineering background while he was committing the scams.

Between April of 2017 and February of 2018, investigators said Itive used fake bank websites to convince the women to send him money and had no intentions of paying them back.

Itive is originally from Nigeria and came to United States in early 2017 on a student visa. Investigators said Itive immediately started the scams when he arrived.

Itive was taken into custody on Friday morning and will be scheduled for extradition back to Colorado to face charges of Theft and Criminal Impersonation.

A female drug addict who goes about begging for money with a fake pregnancy in Lagos, has been exposed. Twitter user, Jonathan Olanlokun, who shared the story online, said he met the lady at the CSS bookshop around CMS in Lagos Island.

According to Jonathan, it was discovered that the lady usually stuffed her stomach with clothes, pretending to be pregnant to get sympathy from people.

Yesterday I came across her while she was packing clothes in her stomach to look like a real pregnant woman. I see her in town selling pure water & begging money from people, I later discover that she is a drug addict, her fake pregnancy is her joker to raise money from people.

After collecting enough money, she resume to drug base to make her purchase. Say no to hard drugs.

The Rivers State Police command says it has shot dead three gunmen suspected to have killed Nnafor Ogbu, the Ogale Eleme Youth President.

Spokesman for the command, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the development in Port Harcourt on Monday, said that the gang on Sunday, broke into Ogbu’s house in Ogale, Eleme Local Government Area and shot him dead.

According to him, Elijah Eleke, the DPO of the Area, quickly mobilised men of the Division in search of the hoodlums.

Mr Omoni said the gang was intercepted at the refinery junction in Port Harcourt. The suspects immediately opened fire on the police.
“In a return fire, three of them were fatally wounded and died before medical attention could be given, while others escaped,” he said.
He added that the four corpses had been evacuated and deposited in a mortuary.

Mr Omoni said one locally made double barrel gun and 11 live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.
The spokesman said investigations into the matter had commenced, assuring that the fleeing members of the gang would be arrested and brought to justice.

A 40-year-old woman, Foluke Olanipekun, has died after a fight she had with her neighbor at their home in Ogo Street Arigidi-Akoko in Akoko North west local government in Ondo state.


According to reports, Olanipekun family and that of her neighbor have had a long standing misunderstanding and on Sunday night, the warring families faced each other in free for all in the night. Things degenerated after Olanipekun slumped and died during the scuffle.


The police was invited and her remains were said to have been deposited at Ikare State Speacialist Hospital mortuary.


The fighting neighbor of the deceased, Mrs Morenikeji Bello, 27, and her two children who were involved in the attack of late Olanipekun, were immediately arrested.


According to Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Okeagbe-Akoko, Ibitayo Adetanranmi,a Superintendent of Police(SP)who confirmed the incident, the suspects will soon be transferred to Akure.

An Osun State High Court sitting in Iwo on Monday sentenced a 5- man armed robbery gang to death by hanging in a ruling delivered by Justice David Oladimeji.

The convicts: Ifedayo Adebiyi, Semiu Taofeek, Afolabi Ogunwale, Oyeleke Mukaila and Ogunbayo Joshua, were first arraigned before the Court on September 23, 2016 on a three-count charge bodering on conspiracy, armed robbery and unlawful possession of fire arms.

According to the Prosecuting Counsel from Ministry of Justice, Mr. Tijani Adekilekun, the convicts committed the offence on the November 27, 2015, at Emmanuel house, opposite P.P Hotel, Olupona.

He said that they robbed one Mr. Fabiyi David of his properties and snatched his Lexus SUV at gun point. The prosecutor explained that the snatched vehicle was later intercepted by Policemen at Guru Mahraji area, along Lagos/Ibadan expressway.

Justice Oladimeji in his ruling said that the prosecutor has proven his case beyond reasonable doubt and found the convicts guilty of two count charges of armed robbery and unlawful possession of firearms. He thereby sentenced them to death by hanging.

A suspected kidnapper identified as Ezra was nabbed on Saturday night with three children he abducted in Taraba state.

According to Kola Ajiboye, who shared photos online, the kidnapped children are from a place called Mumuye in Taraba.

The suspect has been handed over to Bukuru Divisional Police .

Kevin Fret , the first openly gay Latin trap artist has been shot and killed in Puerto Rico.

According to El Vocero, one of Puerto Rico's biggest newspapers, the 24-year-old was on his Yamaha motorcycle when he was shot at around 5.30am on Thursday in Santurce, San Juan. He was shot eight times and died later the same day at the Medical Center of Río Piedras of injuries related to the shooting.

Fret who first stepped into the spotlight in April 2018 with his single 'Soy Asi' was an outspoken advocate for the LGBT community and was one of the few well-known gay rappers on the island nation.
Fret's manager, Eduardo Rodriguez, confirmed his death in a statement, saying 'Kevin was an artistic soul, a big-hearted dreamer.

Three children of the same mother were, this afternoon, killed in a fire accident along High Tension School Road, Ugwuagba-Obosi, Anambra State.
According to the police, the fire started around 2:15 pm inside two containers used as shop and apartment.

Their mother, Blessing Nwafor, had left three of her children namely Chimierie, 5, Onyedika, 4, and Esther, 3, inside the container and stepped out before tragedy struck.

The cause of the fire is not yet known but the charred remains of the victims have since been taken to Bex Hospital mortuary.

The police in Lagos, on Monday, arrested a 41-year-old commercial bus driver for allegedly raping a stranded 78-year-old woman and causing her serious bleeding.

The state’s commissioner of police, Imohimin Edgal, confirmed the arrest while briefing newsmen on the successes recorded by the command in the last one month.

Edgal said that the stranded lady had asked for directions to a place in Lagos from Jelili Lawal who instead lured her to a secluded place and raped her.

According to him, the woman was going to Ketu when Lawal picked her in his bus at Maryland.

“Unknown to the woman, the commercial bus driver who had ulterior motive, drove her to Adeniyi Jones in Ikeja where he forcefully had sex with her in spite of her old age.

A passer-by, who heard the woman’s shouts for help, called the police and pointed them to the direction of the screams and he was caught in the act. The woman was bleeding while she was rescued from the scene.

The suspect is presently in custody and will be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded,” he added.

Samuel Sunday, a father of three, has poisoned his sons with ‘sniper’ in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital.

Two of the sons Miracle (aged 12) and God’s time (aged 10) died, while the third son, Success (aged 14) is recuperating at a private hospital in Yenagoa.
Parading the father before newsmen, Aminu Saleh, Commissioner of Police in Bayelsa, said Sunday’s brother was his accomplice, and that the children had been branded as wizards, which led to the incident.

“A certain medicine man in their village said the children were responsible for his sickness. They
have also been branded as wizards by their villagers. They have been brutally abused by the whole community, and been called all kinds of names,” Saleh said.

He urged parents, religious leaders and community leaders to be on the lookout for their children, and not subject them to unnecessary hardship.

Dr Moses Emeka, a physician at Hillem Medical Centre, attending to the surviving child, said Success was brought to the hospital unconscious by an official of the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). He said the boy would soon recover as he is responding to treatment.

Narrating what happened, Success said it was their father and uncle that gave them the poison.
“Our father and his brother tied three of us and gave us sniper to drink. I was told that my brothers are dead and that I am the only one that survived,” he said in tears.
