The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has given 24 hours to candidates who have obtained their pins to complete their registration.
The board gave the instruction in a statement to announce the close of sales of forms for 2108 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the Nation reports.

HitNg gathered that the statement was issued by JAMB’s Head of Information, Fabian Benjamin, on Tuesday, February 13, in Abuja.

According to the statement, the examination board noted that it would not entertain any complaints from candidates who fail to complete their registration exercise.

Benjamin said the extension applied to candidates who had initiated registration processes and had paid and procured the registration e-pins but could not register at the close of sales.
The statement reads: “Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board wishes to inform the general public that the sale of 2018 UTME application is closed.
“However, the public is urged to note that all candidates who paid and obtained pins and could not unsuccessfully register at the close of sale are allowed to quickly within 24hrs complete their registration as no complaints would be entertained afterwards.

“For purposes of emphasis, this applies to only candidates who had initiated registration processes and have paid and procured the registration e-pins but could not register at the close of sales.

“Take note that candidates are not to generate any profile codes (55019) for the purpose of 2018 UTME registration as doing so would have no effect and a waste of time and resources. Profile codes generation through 55019 will only be used for Direct Entry Registration which is still ongoing.

“The Board commenced the sale of the 2018 UTME registration on the 6th of December, 2017 and was to close on the 6th of February, 2018 but extended to 11th of February, 2018.

“At the close of pin vending, a total of 1,662,818 candidates paid and obtained the e-pins while 1,650,547 had successfully registered for the 2018 UTME. The difference is the numbers outstanding who have not registered but are holding the e-pins and are now allowed to register within 24hrs."

HitNg previously reported that the JAMB said about 1.6 million registration forms for the 2018 UTME were sold, two days to the end of the exercise.
Benjamin disclosed this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday, February 9, in Lagos.

However, the board’s registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, on February 6, announced the extension of sales to Sunday, February 11, in an attempt to accommodate candidates who failed to register within the two-month window.

News of the groom's mother being against the wedding due to spiritual warnings surfaced online and it was reported that she missed the wedding ceremony all together.


It appears there's fire on the mountain after the mother's warnings were ignored. In a recent interview, the agonised mother who recently visited the police to report her son is missing revealed that Olujunwo has left his matrimonial home and hasn't been seen by the wife since November 2017.

This is coming up just eight months after the couple held a lavish wedding to mark the start of their journey as husband and wife. Speaking to Sunday Sun, the groom's mother, Mrs Taiwo Obasanjo shared details of why she missed the wedding and how her son is being treated in the said marriage that has led him to abandon his matrimonial home.

Speaking on why she insisted the wedding shouldn't have been held the way it did, he said : "You see the date change had been going on in the family before I went public. I was in support of the wedding. But do you have the time for me to give you a breakdown of what actually transpired? Before this girl came into the scene, I was told that when he is getting married that there should be no noise. That was the instruction given to me but when this girl came I told them, let them just do this wedding quietly. Instead, they shouted me down and were asking that how can two big families come together and they won’t have a big wedding. I am the biological mother of the groom, I gave birth to him and I am not holding on to him to be my handbag. If you go through the Bible, instructions were given to mothers about their children. For instance, Samson’s mother was given instruction about him but Samson defied the instruction and he ended up being killed by Delilah. Do you understand me? I know what I suffered to have this boy. When the wedding proper came I told them not to pick a particular date and that he should only do a big wedding after his 34th birthday. On my own, I went to the mother of the bride Rose Mary Dacosta because I thought she was a mother, but she refused. They insisted on having the wedding in April. I told the girl too but she was adamant. Unfortunately, people are thinking that I was against the wedding. I wasn’t against my son’s wedding because I love him."

Hammering that she doesn't know where her son is and that his whereabouts has been unknown since Novembe, she said: "How can I hide him? Everyone has been phoning me and asking for his whereabouts. They want to kill me and this is another means for them. How can I hide a man who is 34 years old? What do I want to do with him? And I can never be his wife. I am praying for him to be productive and I am praying for him to be fruitful. From the first day of the wedding, the mother of the girl said she wanted to go on honeymoon with my son and his wife, which I have never heard of in my whole life. Whether I am lying my son can testify about that. The mother insisted that she must go on a honeymoon. I wasn’t there, but I heard that later."

"I don’t know oh! When I was asking she was the one that told me that she is in Ikoyi with her mother so I went there to see her. She told me she has not seen my son since November so I started asking people about this. If I don’t know the whereabouts of my son, should I just fold my arms and watch? Does that make me a responsible mother? I don’t stay close to them. Moreover, Abeokuta to Lagos is not one-minute drive and since they got married I have never interfered and I don’t go there. So the young man has gone into hiding and this is not the first time this is happening. He has been running away from this girl, he would disappear and then when they settle the matter he will come back home. Now everybody said they are tired because every time they are always quarrelling."

Odd world! A 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped by eight men including an Imam. And now the poor girl is said to be five months pregnant with twins in Kubau Local Government, Kaduna State.

Head of Arridah Foundation, Hajiya Rabi Salisu told newsmen on Saturday in Kaduna that the case was brought to the organisation to assist the girl in getting justice.
She said that the foundation would mobilise support and follow up the case in court “until justice is done.’’

Newsmen learnt that the Imam is a neighbour of the girl’s parents.
Rabi said: “We have received the case, and I must say in our years of advocacy during which we have treated over 400 cases of rape and child abuses, we have never come across this type of inhumanity.
“It is devastating to see eight men raping a 13-year-old. She is pregnant, she hasn’t even developed breasts at all and her parents are threatening to abort the twins to avert public embarrassment.

“The fact that the rapists are eight in number might even expose her to HIV/AID or sexually transmitted diseases and other dangerous infection as a result of forced sex.
“We need justice for this girl and that is why we need the support of Kaduna state government, all human right organizations and religious leaders to quickly intervene and bring succour to the poor child that is facing daily challenges.”

According to him, he had contemplated abortion but was advised against it.
“She is too young to be carrying twins and there is no single one among the rapists that is ready to take responsibility for the pregnancy,’’ he lamented.

The girl said the men usually give her N500 and warned her not to tell anybody.
“They usually call and give me N500 when I came back from school and went out hawking; they forced me into it.

“And they have been warning me not to tell my parents, they promise to kill me if I dare tell my parents, that is why I refused to tell my parents,

Housemates in the Big Brother Naija reality TV show have been banned from laughing.
They have also been banned from engaging in physical touching.

The housemates were told on Thursday that they are making the house noisy and also changing the rules of the game.
They were called to order while female housemate, Princess, was seen telling fellow housemates how Nigerian super star, E-Money called her a drunk in a club in Lagos.

She was still telling the story about her ordeal with E-money and his crew; how she tried to hail the star which turned out to be an embarrassment to her, and how she, in another occasion met Star singer, 2face Idibia and his wife, Ani, who received her so well.

The housemates were immediately summoned and cautioned by the Big Brother, who told them that henceforth, there would be no laughing in the house.

According to Big Brother, “We have noticed with disappointment that housemates make unnecessary noise in the house.
“Everyone seems to have something to say at the same time and this is against the rules of the game.”
Envelopes were brought in by the Ninjas which contained the instructions banning them from laughing.

Big Brother further created the “opposite game” to “regulate the noise in the house.”
While the jesters are to do everything to make the opposite laugh, the opposite team are not supposed to yield no matter what.

A Second Republic Lawmaker, from Katsina, Senator Abba Ali has revealed that former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s intends to pull President Muhammadu down as the 2019 general elections approaches.
The former lawmaker accused Obasanjo of plotting the downfall of Buhari as he did during the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua time.



Ali served as Senator representing Katsina between 1979 and 1983.
He said Obasanjo wants to take over power from Buhari and hand it over to another person.

He said, “I think this is Obasanjo’s agenda. This is the second agenda, he is bringing. He did it during Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. He knows Umaru was not well, he brought him in and then attached Jonathan to him, so that soon he will not be able to complete the tenure, so that Jonathan can take over.


“The same thing this time. He saw that Buhari will die and then. Maybe he wanted Buhari to die and then another person takes over.
“Personally, I think Obasanjo, this is the second or the alternative of getting rid of Buhari. Because the way and manner he (Buhari) started the war against corruption which, if goes deep, he (Obasanjo) is not even safe.


“Talk about the power, during his tenure in office, he spent over $16billion and nothing has been done. Nobody knows where the money is. He privatize the whole government properties. He sold the Nigerian Airways .
“He sold the rolling mills, the Ajaokuta and Katsina rolling mills. Umaru Musa wanted to buy it for Katsina, he said no. You see, he has so many things in his cupboard hidden. People respect him and kept quiet. So, I think as an elder statesman, he should be more positive criticism.
“For instance, nobody on earth can accuse Buhari of not making any progress in fight against corruption. They design the TSA, but because they know that it will not work in their favour, they refused to operate it. But Buhari introduced it.
