I welcome all of you dear party members to this year’s NEC meeting.


2. Let me first record my appreciation to the party leadership in Abuja and the States for their stewardship of the Party Affairs. In particular, may I commend our Chairman, His Excellency Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, for steering the Party from success to success.


3. From our resounding victory in 2015, to gubernatorial elections in Kogi, Edo and Ondo as well as much improved showing in Anambra Elections. APC is the Party of Government and now the Party of the Nigerian people.


4. Mr Chairman, Members of NEC, great credit is due to our APC State Governors for stabilizing the country and to our Armed Forces, Police and other Security Agencies for stopping Boko Haram in its tracks and driving them from their bases. No country, however well secured, can prevent isolated acts of terror as we have seen in America, Europe, Asia and here in Africa.


5. We must support our Security Agencies to safeguard our country so that the job of development as outlined in our Manifesto can proceed without too much interruption.


6. Mr Chairman, Members of the National Executive Committee, we cannot afford to fail to remind Nigerians where we came from in 2015. I am happy to report that slowly and steadily we have managed to stabilize the country and re-direct the ship of the State.


7. We have restored prudence to the management of public finances. Confidence in Nigeria has been restored. On February 23rd, Nigeria issued 12 year and 20 year Eurobond on the international market, which were both oversubscribed. The 12 year bond was within days subscribed by 332%. The 20 year bond was subscribed by 372%.


8. We have stabilized the Naira, increased our foreign reserves from US$20 billion to US$40 billion. Inflation rate is down. With considerably less resources available to the country, we have improved all indices towards a stronger economy.


9. Above all, we must pay tribute to the Nigerian people. They still massively support the government in spite of distractions from exponents of “business-as-usual”.


10. Nevertheless, I am not asking us to relax and take things easy. As we all know, elections are looming on the horizon, we must therefore get our act together. Accordingly, I implore all members of the Party to give the Asiwaju Committee full cooperation to resolve differences existing amongst our members in the States affected. It is perhaps inevitable that there would be differences of opinion within the Party. If we didn’t have differences we wouldn’t be a genuinely democratic Party.


11. But we must not lose sight of our common purpose as a new Party to break the mould of Nigerian politics and take the country to new heights. Therefore, we have asked our respected Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead this process of restoring order to the ranks, manage differences and strengthen the Party.


12. Mr Chairman, members of the National Executive Committee, I must acknowledge that the pace of government has not met the expectations of many within our Party. But few of us knew or appreciated the depth of the hole when we took office. Thus we spent the last two years digging the country out of the mess we met.


13. Furthermore, the stand-off between the Executive and the National Assembly slowed the process of government. We are working hard to resolve the differences so that the country can move forward.


15. Soon, primaries for;
a. Wards,
b. Local Governments,
c. State and
d. Centre will be due.


16. I urge all members to take account of the fact that APC has a history of conducting free and fair primaries whenever consensus about any position is not reached. Regardless of the outcomes of the primary processes, it is imperative that we all work together to ensure victory for our Party.

Rap legend Tupac has been “spotted” in Somalia – over 20 years after his death.


The murder of Tupac Shakur remains one of the biggest unsolved crimes in the music industry,as no one has ever been convicted of his drive-by killing.


Now, a new conspiracy theory posted online claims the rap icon could be hiding in East Africa.


A man claims to have seen Tupac, alongside well-known friend and founder of Outlawz hip-hop group – Yaki Kadafi, in Somalia.

“I’ve seen Tupac and Kadafi way after their said deaths – in Somalia,” Suldaan Mahdi says in the post, according to the Daily Star .”I’ve seen them both alive. I was in a car and they were heading in the other direction.”Kadafi was doing some kind of hand signals – he looked kind of funky.”I saw them alive way after their said deaths.”

Kadafi was found slumped in the third-floor stairwell of an apartment building in New Jersey just two months after Tupac’s death.


Last year it was revealed a new documentary has uncovered a significant find – or rather, loss in the famous murder.


Because the gun used to fatally shoot Tupac in the chest at 11.15pm on the night of September 7 1996 has been missing… for over a decade.

Another information is coming in that a dragon have made away with $486 million, a loan given to Nigeria by world bank
This was revealed to newsmen by Lai Muhammad minutes after the money was received from world bank, on landing the Nigerian soil, the money was made away by unknown dragon.

A 15-year-old Nigerian secondary school female student has been frogmarched to death by officials of the Nigerian Army.

According to a reports, the student identified as Queendaline Ekezie, a 15-year-old pupil of Army Day Secondary School, Obinze, Owerri, Imo State, died after two soldiers in the school allegedly snuffed life out of her during a rigorous punishment leaving her family inconsolable.

The soldiers were reported to have asked her to frogmarch after she arrived at school late on Thursday.

The victim, who became exhausted after repeating the exercise several times, was said to have collapsed.

She was reportedly rushed to an army hospital where she died.
Her father, Hyginus, on hearing the news, passed out and was rushed to a hospital in the community for treatment.

It was reported that Queendaline, who was in Junior Secondary School 3, was with a colleague, Delight Aguocha, a JSS 2 pupil, when the incident happened.

Aguocha told Punch Metro that the rigour of the punishment killed her friend.

She said, “On that day, we had set out at 7am. We waited for a motorcycle to take us to school till it was 8am. When we became frustrated, we decided to board a commercial cab. But the driver did not leave the motor park until the car was filled with passengers.

“When we got to school at 9am, we met three sets of late comers on the ground. Two soldiers were asking each set to do frogmarch to a particular distance after which they picked their bags and entered their classes.

“When it was our turn, we were about reaching the finishing line when they said we were not doing it right and we should start again. After we repeated it, we went to pick our school bags, but one of the soldiers said he was still not satisfied.

“I completed the punishment the third time and I picked my bag and left. I suddenly discovered that my friend was not with me. When I returned to the place, I saw her crying. She started vomiting the food she ate that morning. She was saying, ‘my back, my chest.’ The soldiers were just staring at us.”

She added that while the 15-year-old groaned with pain, a teacher who was just arriving in the school, observed her and asked if she had been sick before the time.

Aguocha said she insisted that her friend was healthy, adding that the school principal, who also later arrived, joined in examining her.

The victim, who could no longer walk, was reportedly carried into the principal’s car en route to the army hospital.

The friend said Queendaline was given an injection and later put on a drip.
“After they put on the drip, she started vomiting blood. Blood was spurting out of her nostrils, mouth and ears. I called the teacher to inform her and she alerted a nurse who said her condition had worsened,” she added.

The victim’s sister, Immaculate, a Senior Secondary School 3 pupil in the school, said her sister was not given adequate medical attention which contributed to her death.

She said,
“On that Thursday, she left for school before me. But because she had a delay, I got to school earlier.I was called around 10am that she was in the hospital. They didn’t put her on oxygen and the drip had stopped flowing. When I saw her, she was vomiting blood and shouting. She suddenly became still and the nurse asked us to leave. They announced that she was dead.”

Immaculate said her sister’s dream of becoming a lawyer and fighting for human rights had been destroyed, adding that the soldiers should be held responsible.

It was learnt that the remains of the victim were deposited in the Federal Medical Centre mortuary, Owerri.

Punch Metro was told that the news of the victim’s death shook her hometown in Umuoso Mgbuisii, in the Ohaji/Egbema LGA of Imo State.

It was learnt that the deceased was the second of five children.
Her mother, Applonia, was too distraught to speak with our correspondent.

But the brother, Okechukwu, said the family wanted Queendaline buried and the family compensated.
The Chairman of the Ohaji/Egbema LGA, Ebenezer Amadi, said he was “deeply saddened” by the death because the victim was his uncle’s daughter.

He said the community was awaiting the report of the autopsy to determine its next line of action.

He said, “The soldiers came to meet the family for a meeting, but the meeting could not hold because the girl’s father fainted out of shock. From what we heard, she was being punished for the first time when she slumped and died. So, I cannot make any categorical statement until we see the result of the autopsy.”

The 82 Division’s spokesman and Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, Col. Sagir Musa, said it would be premature to comment on the incident as the Imo State Ministry of Education had planned to issue a statement on it on Thursday (today).

A teacher at Government Day Secondary School Sankalawa in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara has allegedly flogged a student to death.

The incident was revealed on Wednesday by Alhaji Muhammad Abubakar-Gummi, Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly.

The deputy speaker, who spoke under matters of urgent public importance during the assembly’s sitting in Gusau, said that the house had received several reports on the issue.

According to him, another incident at Government Female Day Secondary School, Kwatarkwashi, has led to the injury of a student in the school after the Vice Principal allegedly subjected her to heavy punishment.

“These problems apart from discouraging our children from acquiring education, also revealed poor attitude to work on the part of teachers in this state,” Gumni said.

He urged the House to invite the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology to explain steps taken to address the issues.

The Speaker, Alhaji Sanusi Rikiji described the actions of the teachers as unfortunate and vowed that the assembly would not allow the matter to pass.

“It is part of our responsibilities to ensure effective security and good learning atmosphere for our children for their future development, therefore, we cannot allow teachers to continue harassing our children from schools,” he said.

The Speaker directed the House Committee on Education, Science and Technology to invite the commissioner to appear before it on the matter.

Meanwhile HitNg reported that the Assembly has passed into law the bill for the establishment of Zamfara State University, Talata-Mafara.

And on February 20th, Fela called Ifa priests (reportedly 12) to join the wives in holy matrimony at the Parisona Hotel in Anthony, Lagos. A handful of the wives married against their parents consent but the wedding ceremony went on nonetheless.

The event was joined by band members, friends and family.

Fela placed naira notes on their heads, offered a few words and dished around marriage certificates. He would then engage in a rotating system of having just 12 of them live with him at a particular time. When he first married, he had sex with one, then another, then another till the 27 were complete and then he took them all to Ghana for the honeymoon shortly after.



Another reason why the marriage held was to protect Fela, and his wives, from claims from authorities that Fela was kidnapping the women.

One of his wives, Keuwe Oghomienor revealed in an interview in 2017 that after the marriage ceremony, they went to Ghana for the honeymoon.

He took us to Ghana for the honeymoon and from there Fela brought other girls. The other wives were always jealous because Fela paid a lot of attention to me. Fela used to tell us to smoke marijuana or he would not accept us as his own people.

following an attack by suspected Boko Haram members on Government Giris Secondary School Dapchi, in Yobe state on Monday, 94 students have been declared missing.

According to DailyTrust, source in the school revealed that the number of missing kids was confirmed after an afternoon roll call on the students.

“After the roll call, 610 out the total number of 704 students have returned. .
We are still searching for the remaining 94 students”, he said.

On whether the students were abducted, he said,
“We cannot say, because the insurgents went into the students hostel, and many of these students scaled fence to the bushes.

Until final list of these students no one can tell if they are abducted or not”. He said some parents have also reported to the school authority that there children had reached their homes safely.
And, we are calling on parents to help the school update its list by reporting immediately if their children arrived home safely.”

The State Commissioner of Education, who is not in the state as at the time of the attack confirmed that a competent team has been dispatched to the school.

“The team is profiling the students to know those who are missing? And, how many of them were able to return or ran to their families at home”, he said.

Yobe State Police commissioner, Abdumaliki Sunmonu, said there is no case of abduction in the girls school.

A teen at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School faces a “long road ahead” after he was hit five times shielding his classmates from the attacker’s bullets.

Anthony Borges, a 15-year-old soccer player, put his body between shooter Nikolas Cruz and his fellow students on Wednesday, according to survivors of the massacre that killed 17.

“None of us knew what to do. So, he took the initiative to just save his other classmates,” his friend Carlos Rodriguez told ABC News.
Rodriguez said that Borges was the last student who fled into a classroom to hide, and blocked bullets from hitting others by standing in the doorway as he tried to lock the room shut.
Borges then called his father to tell him he’d been shot.

The Broward County Sheriff’s office said that the boy hailed as a “hero” by classmates who survived uninjured had been shot five times.

“Fortunately, he is recovering — but has a long road ahead with more surgeries needed,” it posted on Facebook Sunday, adding that Sheriff Scott Israel was “honored” to visit him.

Borges was the last wounded victim of the shooting to be in critical condition, but has since been updated to fair.


A GoFundMe page for the Borges family had raised more than $65,000 as of Sunday night.

Nwanje, currently in custody of Ezza-South Local Government in Ebony state, told News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki, the dehumanizing treatment meted on her by her mistress, Mrs Nkechinyere Bartholomew in Onitsha, Anambra state.
The girl, a native of Okoffia-Ohaji, said Bartholomew, now at large, subjected her to serious torture for the four years.
The victim said she was suffering great pains parts of her body where her mistress used different objects, including iron rods and wire to beat her.
Mrs Ngozi Nwanja, the mother of the victim, said her daughter was 8 when she was handed over to Bartholomew.



She said efforts to see her daughter was not successful as the Bartholomew’s mother always claimed that her daughter’s contact number was not reachable.
“When Bartholomew came for my child through her mother who resided in Idembia Ezza-South LGA, she promised that her daughter will take good care of her.’’

The Vice Chairman of the Council, Mrs Caro Ewa, explained that the victim was brought to her on February 12 by Head of Department of Education and Social Welfare of the council.
She said the Chairman of the council, Mr Sunday Ogodo, ordered the arrest of the mother and brother of the accused because they were conniving to shield Bartholomew from arrest.


“Her mother and brother have been released by the police, but her younger sister is still in detention because she stays in Onitsha with them and also brought the victim back to Ebonyi along with her aunty.
“No government will support this evil, because the level of injuries on the child’s body is weird,” Ewa said.

Meanwhile, Mr Godwin Igwe, Head of Department, Child Development in the state ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development, described the degree of injures on the victim as “real damage’’.

According to him, the perpetrator boasted that she will settle the matter with money.
“This is worrisome. There is increasing cases of child brutalization.

“From all indications Nwanja’s hand is condemned and we don’t know the extent of damage to her brain and other parts of her body,” Igwe said.
