mdntiri: Are you educated? I put out the OBJECTIVE METRIC "Human Development Index (HDI)" used by the United Nations to measure how developed one country is from another. Just GOOGLE what the latest HDI figures are for West Africa/Africa to have your answer.
But I'd do the work for you. Go here https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/most-developed-countries-in-africa Due diligence! Brilliant! I love that. But you don't have to be cocky while at it. Do you have to ask if I'm educated? And you do know we're looking at West African countries only here, right? If we go by mobile phone subscription, Nigeria definitely comes tops |

Jorussia: Nor be force to do care work for UK. If u are tired of doing the job please pack ur bag and come back to Nigeria. Nigeria is at present in a difficult economic situation but to reside here is not death sentence. To care for a very old and possibly immobile granny in any part of d world is sometime very tough and annoying.
Let us not create a bad reputation for our country that would make the UK govt stop accepting care workers from Nigeria.People have enjoyed a little bit of comfort here should not relocate oversea to do tough nd sometime 'disgusting' job like care worker. These people do these dirty jobs because they have no other honest means of survival. So they're forced to take out their frustration on poor old people. Just imagine. |

victory36: does Nigeria have better safety/security or better employment rate or better governance and social cohesion than any of the countries listed above? I don't think so We seem to be better at counting our 'losses' here intead of counting our blessings. There's insecurity everywhere, from Middle East to 'Middle West', from Pacific to Atlantic. And it's not stopping soon. The number of the unemployed might be high in Nigeria but the number of the employed is also very high, infact as high as the entire population of some of these West African countries. In terms of governance, we're definitely making progress. We're making our mistakes and learning our hard lessons That's progress! Erm... about cohesion, nothing is more cohesive than bickering and squabbling. Quarrelling is a form of romance |

Nigeria is made up of 6 different countries called regions.
Based on this fact, if you bring out one region in Nigeria and compare it with any of those West African countries you mentioned above, you will see that there is no much difference. If you split the countries into units like that, their rating would still be worse. Or what do you think? |

The question was raised on Quora.com and someone has this to say. I felt we should judge, how true?
Hmm Yes, I have been to many of those West African countries. The problem with countries like Ghana, Togo, Ivory coast etc is that they focused their development only on the capital cities. Nigeria can still boast of development in comparison to her neighboring countries and west African countries. If you go to Ivory coast the only top-notch city there is Abidjan, Partially Yamoussoukro. Ghana focused its development only in Accra and partially cape coast and Eastern region. Togo, its only Lome with a lovely beach. Every part of the country is still underdeveloped. Benin republic development is majorly in Cotonou. Liberia is only Monrovia But Nigeria can still be proud of places like Abeokuta, Lagos, Ibadan, Port Harcourt, Kano, Kaduna,Abuja,Uyo,Calabar,Oshogbo etc Abuja Kano state Countries like Niger, Burkina faso, Mali are still far from development. Some people made suggestions that Senegal might be more developed than Nigeria. This is a point with no proof because I have never been there and I doubt it. We can only measure a country development with the following methods: Main development points: Employment Poverty Health Education Social Cohesion Safety and Security Good Governance Aspects of Development that cannot be measured: Freedom Security Sustainability conservation. Considering Nigeria population, I think it is rude to put Senegal on a race with Nigeria. Senegal population is barely 16 million approximately,Lagos state population alone is over 20 million and Nigeria as a country is approximately 180 million with huge land mass, different culture, beliefs and languages! Senegal is only matured when it comes to politics and the same thing with Nigeria. The opinion that senegalese have better living standard than Nigerians is something I don’t want to agree. You can comment for counter arguments! This is the map of West Africa, I have visited many except few.Based on experience, you cannot compare Nigeria with any of the above listed countries. *_Socrates Prediction of the Fall of Democracy:_* "Demoracy must fall because it will try to tailor to everyone. The poor will want the wealth of the rich, and democracy will give it to them. Young people will want to be respected as elderly and democracy will give it to them. Women will want to be like men and democracy will give it to them. Foreigners will want the rights of the natives and democracy will give it to them. Thieves and fraudsters will want important government functions, and democracy will give it to them. _And at that time, when thieves and fraudsters finally democratically take authority because criminals and evil doers want power, there will be worse dictatorship than in the time of any monarchy or oligarchy."_ *Socrates (470-399 B.C.)*

I know that you intend to mock those junior workers as if they are useless and they don't deserve to even step out of the country, kitchen and stores let alone travel with the President on the Presidential jet. Smh. Even the child of a labourer, security guard etc will still join in trash-talking those in same category as his/her father and mother instead of begging God for the same grace and favour that comes with being diligent and upright in life. Seesth thou a man diligent in his work, he will stand before Kings and not mere ordinary men.
Those are real people and Nigerian citizens if you don't know. Those guys you look down on in condescension are the ones who the lives of Nigerian President and leaders in the President's contingent depend on.
That you look down on them in condescension shows you're ignorant. No country in the world will place the lives of its leaders in the hands of random people or kitchen staff.
Just days ago, the wife of a top leading Ukrainian was poisoned and it's now a row between Russia and Ukraine.
Seyi Tinubu is not just the President's son, he is a successful and consummate entrepreneur/investor. His outdoor advertising company alone is so successful that his presence at the summit adds value to the quality of our contingent. He is a youth who has something phenomenal to show for his achievements even before his father became the President.
While you continue to feed the lazy idle youths on the social media what to gloat about, these folks and Nigerian leaders have the result to show for their brilliance, competence, patriotism and hardwork. They went there to work, leaving their families and businesses behind in Nigeria while you play online.
