AjanleKoko: I was referring to this season. Pep always brought in B team players in each of the four years he was coach, to play some games, and help them prepare for the top flight. And he always promoted those players in the following season. Busquets, Fontas, Cuenca, Thiago.

I'm not really interested in what Madrid is doing. But somehow this season, they have used some B team players, and they have also introduced a couple of valuable buys and loanees. Varane, Lopez, Modric, Essien. We don't seem to have done well in either respect.

Do you know that Tello is playing in the first team by chance? At the end of last season (when Pep quit), he was not promoted formally to the first team, neither was he sent back to the B team. In fact he wasn't used in the first set of La Liga games. I am reading now that he may be used as a makeweight for a proposed ten million pound deal for Pepe Reina.

Muniesa unfortunately hurt his knee, and was sent back to the B team when he recovered (and he wasn't used there). Mundo Deportivo is reporting this morning that, like Cuena, he will be sold at the end of the season. He'll be out of contract then. Effectively Dos Santos, Cuenca, Fontas, Bojan, and surprisingly Thiago and Sergi Roberto, seem to be scheduled for a sale.

I'm just a bit concerned that, not only are we not reinforcing the squad adequately, there seems to be scant attention paid to the development of these youngsters. After all the publicity about La Masia. The success we've had in the last few years with Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, and co is too valuable to let slip away.

Since we're obviously not going to buy players like everyone else, why not blend the promising youngsters with the experienced campaigners while they are still playing? I don't really see that happening right now. Are they really so bad that they are only good to be loaned out or sold?

Not to worry regarding bolded. We are not discussing our church here, so no need to be scared of criticising the pastor grin
For starters,i criticize the club too but my statement was that you're being "too negative" of the club of recent, nothing wrong with what you're doing but when it gets to the extreme, it becomes worrisome. sad tongue

All you've heard is rumor, does it make sense to you that Tito's not ready to buy more than 2-3 players, yet would allow the management sell all these players you listed? who then is he going to use?

I believe Tito is likely to use the young boys more than Pep ever did, i even heard that Tito was one of the reasons why Pep used the youngsters during his era.

Let's allow the season close first, then we can watch as things unfold.

AjanleKoko: Dunno about grooming, but this year, Madrid seem to have more B teamers than Barca in their Liga games.
Only Montoya and Bartra have got games, and they are not B team players.
Though when you look at the Segunda, it's clear that we have better players than Real Madrid Castilla. Overall, the teams are not well-managed as they have been in the past, in my view.
you mean these are the only team b players Barsa used since mou became madrid's coach?

Btw, how many team b has mou graduated to the team a squad since he took over?

I know you don't like the new coach and management, but you're sounding too negative.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by honeric01(m): 11:51am On May 16, 2013
AjanleKoko: I don't know. Someone like Oscar Garcia who did good work with the Juvenil teams, and was sidelined for Eusebio Sacristan by the Rosell-Zubi administration. He worked with Rafinha, Deulofeu, Dongou, Sergi Robero in the Juvenil teams, and would probably have continued the good work done earlier by Pep and Luis Enrique in the B teams.

Sacristan has bought a lot of players for the B team in 2 years - Sergio Araujo, Kiko Femenia, Rodri, to name a few. But surprisingly, none of them has even made a reasonable mark to be considered for promotion.

There's definitely something gone wrong with the management, and it started with Pep's era (the last year).
I really do not know what the mag's planning or looking at (long term). Lets just watch.

usbcable: How many games has your academy players coped this season, even with the pletoria of injuries to first teamers?
At least every now and then he gives them the opportunity to try out with the squad.

And if he has an experienced first teamer available why would he just against reason play an inexperienced personel al because its an academy player.

Casemiro
Fabinho
Jese etc were all allowed to have the experience of playing first team football.

Reason demands that you just dont plunge them into battle field just for fun.

No wonder some of you are crucifying bartra.SMH.
1 or 2 games means Mou is grooming them? grin grin grin

How many games did these names play? grin grin grin

Casemiro
Fabinho
Jese

When it comes to grooming home talents, don't ever equate Madrid under Mou or any recent coach with Barsa. grin

Hehehe, so who should Tito get as his assistant since Roura is not it and the current B side's coach is not it too? huh

Have you guys heard of the Benfica's BelaGuttmann Curse?

In 1959, Benfica signed Hungarian coach Bela Guttmann from Porto. In 3 seasons he won two Portuguese league titles, one Portuguese cup, and two European cups. in 1962 he asked Benfica's board for a pay raise and they refused. He angrily left the club and said "Not in 100 years from now will Benfica win a European
Cup." They've lost 7 European finals since:
1963, 1965, 1968, 1983, 1988, 1990 and now
2013.
51 years and the curse continues.

Heartland beat 3SC to break jinx

Heartland FC beat Shooting Stars 2-0 in an NPFL Week 12 game to record their first away win in four years.

The Naze Millionaires signalled their intention to cart away all three points on offer when Jolly Osas put them in the lead as early as the 3rd minute.

The Owerri-based club took their advantage into the break as their hosts failed to get an equaliser with Gbolahan Salami guilty of fluffing several begging chances.

Heartland put the game beyond the visitors when Ebere Odiche scored in the 68th minute to seal the impressive away win signalling the end of a four-year jinx.

Shooting Stars had picked their first point on the road last Sunday, after holding Sharks FC to a goalless draw in Port Harcourt.

Akor seals win for Heartland

Isah Akor was once again amongst the goal scorer’s as Heartland recorded a 2-1 win at home against a resilient Akwa United in their NPFL Week 11 encounter on Sunday.

Ebere Odiche put Heartland ahead after 13 minutes to send the small crowd at the Dan Anyiam Stadium into ecstasy, but Akwa responded almost instantly with an equalizer from John Aguda two minutes later.

Akor grabbed his seventh goal of the season in to 28th minute which eventually helped seal the win for Heartland, as no further goals were scored by either side.

Heartland who have been impressive at home this season have had found it hard to get points on the road.

The Naze Millionaires will travel to Ibadan to Shooting Stars who held Sharks FC to a goalless draw to get their first point away this season.

AjanleKoko: Pep did more than any other coach in promoting youngsters.
This Tito regime has even stunted the growth of a lot of them. It was worse when he was away and Roura was in charge.
If Tito wants to stay, he needs to consider getting a better assistant that can deputize for him effectively angry
You really can't blame Roura much, maybe they should get the current Barsa B coach in his place if he won't level up.

Gwar surprised at hat-trick

Enyimba striker Sibi Gwar says he was expecting to score against Kano Pillars on Sunday, but did not quite expect to get a hat-trick.

The striker has returned from a minor injury and plundered three against the champions and log leaders on Sunday to help Enyimba claim all three points

“I thank God for yesterday. Before the match, I knew I would score,” Gwar told KickOffNigeria.com. “I just didn't know it was going to be a hat-trick.”

Having announced his return so spectacularly, the forward is keen to add to his tally, but says he is setting no targets, yet.

“Scoring goals is my job. If I don't score, I feel bad because it means I am not doing my job. So I want to score more goals.

“I had a little problem with my leg, but I am back now and I just want to keep scoring goals.

“I don't have any targets yet. But by mid-season, when I know what my future will be, I can say for sure.”

AjanleKoko: Pop quiz:

Jordi Alba - 14 million euros.
Alexis Sanchez - 40 million Euros.
Cesc Fabregas - 36 million euros
Alex Song - 19 million euros.

Which has been the most value for money out of the four?

I'd say Alba first, excellent performance after one season.
Cesc next, on and off yes, but he has done pretty good. His performance I suspect is a result of a coaching problem.
Song and Alexis, as far as I am concerned, is a ~60 million euro waste of money angry
Second biggest waste after Ibram

AjanleKoko: Well, like I said, I couldn't care less. Neymar is just one player. It's just like speculating about CR7, as good a player as he is, we don't have to have him. I am more concerned about the reinforcements we are planning to make. We only hear names being mentioned. Today Hummels, tomorrow Thiago Silva. At the end of the day, maybe it's only Reina (a Catalan) that would end up being signed, and for big money too. Which leaves us firmly back in Square 1. angry
Lets wait and see what happens.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by honeric01(m): 9:43am On May 15, 2013
AjanleKoko: Also, there is a strong rumour that Neymar is on his way to Bayern. Not like I mind much; that's 40-50 million not gambled in my view. It only means that, if we still refuse to reinforce (Tito and co keep saying they only need 2 or so reinforcements), we should expect more of the same from Bayern and co next season embarassed
Its just a rumor because Bayern rebuked the news.
