Piponomics: Your case is different from the issue above. If she was ok with whatever excuse the guy gave her, she won't be complaining here now just like Jakpayen is not complaining about yours.and whats wrong with buying from individual? Didnt the company start from an humble begining ni or are there no companies delaying orders too? What matters is reputation and it doesn't come until you patronize. @ hisable . You need to say something about this alleged attitude of yours because i know you're seeing this. |
initiate: In just one day this thread has received so many posts, so I wonder- Why are our pple so passionately interested in the topic?Because the pastors keep blackmailing those who aren't paying with threats, death, poverty and all stuffs like that. if i wasn't a self-proclaimed christian, i would have backslided long time ago with the way they clamor on tithe while ignoring weightier matters needed to be preached! |
LOL, a case of thinking your own farm is the biggest. check well, there are posts with more than 600 likes. ![]() |
BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) — A Virginia Mennonite pastor facing up to three years in prison says he is being judged because of his faith and conscience for helping a woman and her daughter flee the country rather than share custody of the child with her former lesbian partner. Western society is seeking to re-engineer and redefine marriage, family and parenthood, Kenneth Miller, of Stuarts Draft, Va., said in a four-page letter to the federal court judge who will sentence him Monday. He said that's why he helped Lisa Miller and daughter Isabella flee the country in 2009 after the woman went to him begging for help. "If it is true that my actions flow out of my faith in Jesus, and from my deeply held moral believes — and I sincerely think they do — then it must follow that whatever judgment is being brought against me by the United States of America, is judgment on my faith and conscience and deeply help moral beliefs," he wrote. "I was faced with a woman in distress who needed help to protect her daughter from what seemed to be an inhumane court decree," Miller said, writing from the jail where he has been held for refusing to tell a grand jury about other people involved in the case. Kenneth Miller, 47, was convicted last summer on a charge of aiding in international parental kidnapping. During the four-day trial, prosecutors laid out how he arranged for Lisa Miller and Isabella to be taken by car from Virginia to Buffalo, N.Y., where they crossed into Canada and were met by an Ontario Mennonite who took them to the airport in Toronto. From there, they flew to Mexico and on to Nicaragua, where they are still believed to be in hiding. The Millers are not related. Lisa Miller and Janet Jenkins were joined in a Vermont civil union in 2000 and Isabella was born to Lisa in 2002. The couple split in 2003. The Vermont family court gave custody of Isabella to Lisa Miller and gave Jenkins regular visitation. Lisa Miller then returned to Virginia, became a conservative Christian, renounced homosexuality and sought full custody of the girl. She stopped following court-ordered visitation schedules. Two months after Lisa Miller and Isabella fled to Nicaragua, a Vermont family court judge transferred custody of the girl to Jenkins. Jenkins' attorney, Sarah Star, said Jenkins would not be in court Monday. Prosecutors have asked Judge William Sessions III to sentence Kenneth Miller to 2½ to three years in prison, the maximum. His attorneys counter he should not be jailed because he had no previous criminal record and has been an upstanding member of his community. They have asked that the sentence be delayed until an appeal can be heard. In his letter to Sessions, Kenneth Miller explained why he helped Lisa Miller and why he refused to testify before the grand jury. "After more than three weeks of incarceration ... I find my faith and conscience and moral convictions considerably strengthened," he said. "My position remains the same. I am unable for reasons of faith and conscience ... to answer certain questions before the federal grand jury. I take no delight in burdening the court, but find myself compelled to this position by my deeply held religious beliefs." http://news.yahoo.com/va-pastor-gods-law-reigns-same-sex-dispute-074138627.html |

Hi Traders, I make my suggestions every day based on where I see the market heading over the next 24 hours. Use my analysis below to aid your trading and to help you keep on the right side of the market. My suggestions are posted by 6pm EST each day. Just to let you know that Monday's trade analysis, when the market opens at the beginning of the new week (Sunday if you are in the US/Europe) are usually the hardest to pick and if you wanted a day off trading, that would generally be the day to choose. The reason being; I am looking at the previous week's prices and the new open prices for the week when making my analysis on a Monday and of course many things can happen between the close of the market one week and the opening of the market the next week and the market sentiment can often change. Just bear this in mind each Monday. Overall there is strength in the CAD, USD and AUD. Overall there is weakness in the GBP, CHF and JPY. Buy Trades - CAD/JPY, CAD/CHF, AUD/JPY, AUD/CHF, NZD/JPY, USD/JPY, USD/CHF Sell Trades - EUR/CAD, GBP/USD, GBP/AUD, GBP/NZD, GBP/CAD Happy Trading, Andrew |
It's who you are from the start, camp does not change anything. stop being a weakling. |
Well he's not exactly the best thang smoking right now! If he does a good job for y'all he could end up getting a long term appointment in any good club in Europe
Well it's not that easy bro. i mean Rijkaard is not a small coach na so telling him to come work for 3 months (Until Tito returns) sounds like belittling him. |
Miss Ope: - shouldn't we give our pastors money knowing fully well dat dey don't av other sources of income and dey av bills to pay?....Name one pastor who doesn't have any other source of income! |
Bidam: that shows you lack of discipline in the things of God @ the emboldened..and who told you pastors don't pay tithes? are you paying your tithes to Jesus(our high priest) or to your pastor? No, i don't pay tithe again at all because paying tithe as a christian is like removing or cancelling one of the reasons why Jesus died for us. |
HMMMM. Lemme get intouch with him. |
Why don't you guys take back Rijkaard? I think he got fired by Saudi Arabia recently? He knows the environment and would need zero time to settle!
You think he's going to take a 3 months' job? ![]() |
Jesus is lord. Today, a new dimension in RCCG province 3X, the pastor wanted to kill me with this "tithe issue", clamoring on paying tithes if you want to be successful. i was just laughing at him in my mind saying to myself, yes yes, i guess slim pays alot of tithe, gates pays billions in tithe, Dangote and the rest of huge billionaires out there. I grew up in a mission house (use to pay tithe), after seeing the way these pastors handle tithe money and after understanding the issue of tithing, the Jews, Jesus, Christianity, i was able to throw away my tithe book and just watch the drama in church every Sunday. Do you know that RCCG Pastors are promoted based on how much their parishes remit to camp (Major reason)? How did i know? (Go to their worker's meeting if you want to know). A branch is seen as not growing if the tithes and offerings they remit to the camp are not up to others. May God have mercy! |
How much is the exchange rate to dollar now? |
natruetalk: bro. pls learn from this chart for your future trade. goodluckChei, see wicked movements. |
All that is lacking in Barsa right now is the motivation, the compelling reason to win, the motivation is low, the morale is low, the midfield is no longer the same again, Xavi is silent and that midfield went dead with his silence, our strength has always been the midfield. The defense is getting worse and it's hightime we got 2 defenders and one goal-keeper. As for the strikng role, Sanchez to be sold and a striker "like" Suarez is bought. As for the coach, we need a coach for just 6 months because all i see for now is a Barsa team on an auto-ride. Raoura is anything but a coach fit for a team like Barcelona. |
Johnnoah1st: @op u need to get some work please cus i guess u don't have a jobare you normal? |
I clicked on this topic, expecting my fellow forumites to base their response to the question on facts and information that would educate an individual and at the same time challenge us the present generation to aim at replicating such things, which increased the quality of life of our fore fathers. what do I get? Incoherent ramblings about punnies and wives and so on. While I am not amused by the supposedly harmless joke, I fully recognise that people's choices differs and anybody and everybody is entitled to their own opinion on a faceless forum. I also appreciate the importance of being in a good mood which helps with productivity and reducing stress. I take exception to the disregard for intelligent discuss when it would be detrimental to the eventual outcome of a great question as this. I believe in a public forum, the average individual would most likely base their response and replies on what their perception of what the thread is about, based on what the early commenters have inferred or stated. Back to the topic. Happiness in itself is based on different yardsticks, although at the end of the day, it boils down to the individual. It is not far from the truth to link happiness to satisfaction, which is based on what an individual feels their aim and purpose in life is. Take for example a case of a person who is passionate about teaching kids and humanitarian activities, such an individual would not be bothered by how much they are being paid or their living conditions. This person would normally satisfied when they cause change in their environment, when one their students graduates, when a nation in crises becomes self sufficient and in peace as a result of their inputs. Having said all these, the present generation ( I am not stereotyping here, there are exceptions to this assumption) base their satisfaction in how many twitter followers they have, girls base they happiness on how rich their boyfriends are, how many iphone 5 they own and how many Christian Louboutin shoes they have, every young guy would want to be an artist wearing prada, popping Moet and Champagne, having girls chasing them. They are not at fault at all, and this applies to the developed countries as well. People are no longer interested in education, research is on the downward slope (unlike before when researchers and inventors would painstakingly go without food and money for years, to create a magnificent piece of invention). why is this happening? remains elusive to me, although someone somewhere might have figured it out, which would be a good idea as it would help in addressing the crisis. While the present crop of youths are being influenced by alien cultures all thanks to the internet age, an individual somewhere in Timbuktu would do an Harlem shake or Gangnam style rather than sit down to plan his/her life. Our forefathers on the other hand are not easily distracted by all these possessions, they live happy lives. Why? because they have discovered the through meaning of fulfilment, they have identified how to meet their basic needs and building a system that works. We should be careful not to confuse being ambitious with being greedy, nor should we confuse the quiet lives lived by our forefathers with the fast paced life we live in. They dont have an android phone (one of the greates piece of inventions), nor do they have an Ipad ( a recent study in UK found out that kids learn faster by interacting with a touchscreen device. this explains why young kids would easily get a hang of how to use an ipad before their mums) or a CRM application which manages a business operation. We in the present age would to some extent enjoy our lives and become happier, even much more than our forefathers, if only we can drop all the unnecessary baggages, and focus on influencing our work sphere and immediate environment.
This can't be musiwa lailai |
