Before this my comment, over 45 people viewed this post and could not express their opinion in writing. May be because it is not APC and PDP, GEJ and GMB. What I see is that Nigerians are nothing but people that are good at finding faults in others while paying little attention to the log embedded in their eyes. This is NLC, the same thing happened in NBA 3 years ago. I still think as we rant CHANGE and FORWARD everywhere, Nigerians should start the change and forward march from themselves before expecting miracles from GEJ or GMB. |

The end to insurgency is near, Army got experience now. |
Real reasons why Army fail against Boko haram. My view point. The Nigerian Army fight against insurgency has been ineffective to say the least. And I tried to ask questions and research why our Military has been without confidence in standing up against Boko haram in this battle. I realize that the following list are not the reasons they Military are ineffective: 1. Funding: The military over the last 8 years received the largest budgetary allocations compared to the sum total funds received in the country from 1960 to 2006. Funding has been very effective. 2. Equipment: To prosecute war against insurgency, our military had the equipment needed to do the job. Agreed the air beattle bomber jet we had sometime ago which was not upto the standard to venture into the gulf war of 1990, But the jets Used in 1990 by the Americans to prosecute gulf war are the same model inherited in 2008 but not enough for a serious continental war of today. To prosecute Boko haram war all we needed was the Armored tanks, AK 47 and the Experienced military men which is lacking since 1998. The following are reasons why the military has been ineffective: 1. Politics: Towards the end of the Military, about the Abacha self transformation plan. The politics in the military started pushing professionalism and experience to the background. Officers never went through the ranks to become generals, Chief of Army staff and Chief of defense staff. Lower ranked officers rose to become Generals and Millitary chiefs thro political scheming and loyalty to the man on top. When these abnormal movement occurs in the Millitary, the higher ranked officers were normally shown the way out by retirement. The trend continued into the democratic era of 1999 were Obasanjo in the bid to remove all political elements in the Millitary retired many officers that were linked to any thing Abacha, also promoting lower ranked officers to become generals and service chiefs. Unknown to our leaders, they were all creating problems for us down the line. The wantom retirements then were nothing but throwing out experience. 2. Inexperience: Experience they say is the best teacher, by 2007 the Army was without any officer in the rank and file that has ever experience war. The role of the army is to fight wars and any Millitary in any country that lacks this experience, will always be defeated in battle. The Liberian war of 1990, Ecomog troop afforded our officers then to experience the real war and so sad that by 2009 non of our men in the rank and file had that war experience, the officers now are all new recruits that join the army just to get employment not with passion to fight. An officer that will runaway from his armor tank on sighting insurgent is doing that just because he does not believe that the tank can protect him. Book knowledge he has been told that the tank protects you but practically he has not tested the tank to verify the facts. The air force pilot that choose to fly dangerously to the point insurgent will shoot the jet down and capture the pilot instade of using his GPS to locate targets for bombing is the effect of inexperience and exposure to really war. The Americans jump into battle across the world for many reasons one of which is to give their military that needed hands on hours in real war. Any institution that completely retire or sack it's best hand or experience workforce is just preparing grounds to sink that institution. GEJ inherited a process that was weaken by politics and inexperience, however with the few officers that did not run away from going to battle but stood their grounds to fight and gain experience at the battle field against insurgency should be encourage and made to grow in the system to help us in completely winning the war today against Boko haram and building a confident and experience military for the future. Now I see the end of Boko haram soon. God bless Nigeria. |
In 2010 they both said; El Rufai said: "Buhari is perpetually unelectable, his insensitivity to Nigeria's diversity and his parochial focus are already well-known. Buhari and his cohorts may wish to reflect that it will take more than attacks on personalities to become electable. I was 25 years old when Buhari and Babangida were Heads of State and I am now 50 and they still want to be Head of State. I don’t understand that. I don’t understand that at all and I call on the young people of Nigeria to take their future into their hands and ensure that in the next election, they vote for a new generation of leaders". Fani-Kayode said: “I watched the dinner the PDP held and I was appalled by the fact that they gave themselves a pass mark. They were clapping and saying President Jonathan should continue". In 2015 they now say; El Rufai said: "Buhari is credible, honest and right man to lead Nigeria in 2015". Fani-Kayode said:"Never before have I seen a Nigerian President with good intension to transform the country. He is doing well he should continue". What do you think is the causual factor for the change of mind and stance by these two men? is it typical of Nigerian politicians, meaning Fashola, Tinubu can be GEJ men tomorrow and Akpabio, Peter Obi can be GMB men tomorrow and we the commoners keep killing ourselves for them. Say no to being use by any politician for election violence. |

As for me no matter what people say or write on the internet, I know who I will vote for and the reason is what I stand to personally gain in the 4 years and what my region and community will gain in 2016! Yes 2016. I have educated my people concerning 2016 and they have seen my point. |

Paris Displays Defiance With Huge Rally World Leaders Gather With Crowds to Show Solidarity After Terror Attacks World leaders marched arm-in-arm with a massive crowd in Paris on Sunday in memory of the 17 people who were killed in terrorist attacks in this past week. PARIS—World leaders marched arm-in-arm with a massive crowd Sunday in defiance of terrorist attacks that ripped through the French capital in the past week. Hundreds of thousands of people from across France and elsewhere descended on Paris for a rally that drew a host of strange bedfellows from the world stage. The families and friends of the 17 people killed in the spree of violence walked solemnly at the head of the march. In their wake came a spectrum of leaders, ranging from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron . ENLARGE The rally was one of the city’s biggest gatherings in decades, and French officials adopted “exceptional” measures to manage the crowd and guarantee the security of foreign leaders. Large swaths of the city were sealed off from traffic and subway lines were shut down. Millions rally for French unity Last updated 7 minutes ago Mishal Husain reports from Paris: ''The applause goes up from the crowd'' More than three million people have taken part in unity marches across France after 17 people died during three days of deadly attacks in Paris. Up to 1.6m are estimated to have taken to the streets of the French capital. More than 40 world leaders joined the start of the Paris march, linking arms in an act of solidarity. The marchers wanted to demonstrate unity after the attacks on satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo, police officers, and a kosher supermarket. The French government said the rally turnout was the highest on record. The rally, led by relatives of the victims of last week's attacks, began at the Place de la Republique and concluded in the Place de la Nation. Several other French cities also held rallies. The interior ministry said turnout across France was at least 3.7 million, including up to 1.6 million in Paris - where sheer numbers made an exact tally difficult. World leaders, including British Prime Minister David Cameron, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Malian President Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, EU President Donald Tusk, and Jordan's King Abdullah II joined the beginning of the Paris march. "Paris is the capital of the world today," French leader Francois Hollande said. The leaders observed a minute's silence before the march began. More than three million people across France marched for unity Marchers held a banner reading "Where is Charlie?" and placards reading "I am here" Demonstrators held pencils to show their support for free expression Many French people took part in marches outside Paris, including at this rally in Reims Source: BBC news online. |
