Glimpsetv: A traveler has shared an encounter with a Nigerian police officer who demanded a bribe despite the suspension of the Electronic Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) policy. The incident occurred along the Benin Bypass, where the officer reportedly asked the travelers to either pay ₦5,000 or provide 5 litres of fuel.
This happened despite the recent suspension of e-CMR enforcement, as previously announced by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP).
You may recall that the Nigerian Police had earlier announced that enforcement of the controversial e-CMR would begin on July 29, 2024. Under the policy, vehicle owners without the e-CMR would have faced sanctions.
However, the announcement was met with widespread criticism. The Nigerian Bar Association even issued a one-week ultimatum, demanding that the police reverse the decision.
In response to public outcry, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, ordered the immediate suspension of the proposed enforcement originally scheduled for July 29.
In the now-viral video shared by the traveler, the police officer is seen ignoring the travelers’ pleas and openly demanding a bribe of ₦5,000 or 5 litres of fuel from those without the e-CMR. The footage later shows the travelers handing over cash, which the officer takes and carefully counts.
During the exchange, one of the travelers asked the officer, “What’s the problem?” The officer replied, “e-CMR.” The traveler responded, “e-CMR is illegal,” to which the officer said, “You can make a call.” The traveler replied that he had no one to call and then asked the officer what he wanted them to do. The officer answered, “5 litres of fuel.”
The traveler pointed out, “There’s no fuel station around here. Where do you expect us to get the fuel?” The officer replied, “You can just go and get it.” Realizing the officer was asking for money, the traveler asked, “How much is 5 litres of fuel?” The officer responded, “₦5,000.”
The travelers pleaded to pay ₦3,000 instead. One of them explained that they were returning from their grandmother’s burial and that ₦3,000 was all they could afford. The officer, however, showed no interest in their story.
As the video continues to circulate widely on social media—especially on X (formerly Twitter)—many Nigerians have expressed outrage over the officer’s actions and called for accountability.

Easyincome24: Let's have the job you think was highly respected in the past but has lost his dignity or respect in recent time.
Perhaps if one knows it, one can avoid studying them or learning them.

I bought an orthopedic mattress yesterday and I slept on it last night and I've come to discover that it's too hard for me. It's not bouncy at all, and feels like I'm lying on a rock.
I'm 72kg, and in not suffering from any joint conditions.. I only bought the mattress because it was recommended by the seller as a 'good and durable mattress'
What do I do next? It's just too hard for me to endure and I don't know if it's going to get any better (or get slightly soft so that I can enjoy the mattress
Thank you for reading.
even if you buy the normal mattress that's how U will feel not to talk of orthopedic mattress, don't worry with time you will get used to it

So it happened that my dad sent me to one of his friends office to pick up a file and on getting there the man was not around so the secretary asked me to sit down on the sofa (my greatest undoing)
The man's office is a very big one so they have a separate visitors room where you can just relax while you wait for him. I sat down and slept off while waiting for him but woke up to a sting.
My first thought was maybe it was this normal mosquitoes that flies around so I did not read much to it then the man came attended to me and I went to give my dad his files. Note that I don't stay with my dad so immediately I dropped the file I excused myself and went home to my roomself contain on getting hoke I took off my cloth threw ot on the bed and went to take my shower (2nd mistake).
When I got back I picked up the clothes and put it in the basket unbeknownst to me I already have a foreigner in my room. After about 3 days I started noticing stings but this was different from the normal mosquitoes because I fleet my room at interval. One night it was so much that I had to wake up in the middle of the night to check that was when I stone of them on the wall, I killed it but then I begin to wonder how I got it there. To cut the story short I discovered that I got it from my dad's friend office the day they decided to dispose off the Cushine in that off due to bug and funmigate then it dawn on me where they came from.
Note that I used a lot of chemicals but they wouldn't leave, sniper ,DD force, baygon even kerosene but alas that said my time is over in that house. Immediately my rent was due I took very few cloths to the dry cleaner got rid of most of my household items by selling it off to get a new one and that was how I got rid of bed bugs.
Those things never die.
If you've ever experienced bed bug invasion share your experience and how you got rid of them.
I no dey like to talk about this bedbug matter again because my case was similar to Ur own but my own case was worse,I leave in a single room apartment where I gave birth to my first child and this thing find it way to my house when people were coming to celebrate with me and I have a single two seater chair then,I started battling it,I got another apartment which was a room and parlour in other to avoid them,I sold my bed, mattress and chair to aboki and some other furniture's and I bought new set of chair, bed and mattress and this thing disappeared for like 4months but to my suprise it still showed up,I swear life tire me that time, make I no like this thing frustrated my life for almost additional four years with so much effort to get rid of it oo,when I couldnt bear it any longer I had to repeat what I did the first time by renting a two bed apartment and sold all my belongings to aboki just to avoid them, but this still showed up there again but they couldn't thrive there because there are lot of spaces in that house.lesson learnt is that bed bugs thrive mostly in most place that is so choke when things are so close to each other

Odewaleadesoye: Obianuju Udeh, popularly known as DJ Switch, has described the recent judgement of the Community Court of Justice of ECOWAS on the controversial #EndSARS protest as a win.
DJ Switch said she and other victims trusted that the facts and evidence presented to the court would be irrefutable, even in the face of discouragement.
DAILY POST recalls that the ECOWAS court recently ordered the Federal Government to pay DJ Switch, Perpetual Kamsi and Dabiraoluwa Adeyinka N2 million each for violation of their rights.
However, DJ Switch said she couldn’t express the emotional trauma they all went through and the life changes they had to make.
She said they had been able to work through it and that the ECOWAS court verdict certainly made a positive impact.
In a post on her social media handle on Thursday, she wrote:

Kidspirit: We were recently moved by AEDC from Band 'D' to Band 'A'. In fact, they move us without notice.
Sometimes they will move us to Band 'C', all without notice. I just bought a prepaid unit of N1,500 this morning and they gave me only 6.7 unit, in this harsh economy.
I got 41.1 unit last month with same N1,500 when we were in Band 'C'
6.7 unit can't last me more than two days for a minimal use.
My chest dey pain me. 💔 😢
