Ghana is more expensive than Nigeria, and Naira is really useless compared to Cedis so you have to be financially ready! And about getting a job i really don’t know about that but you should see a job because the country seem accommodating and I would tell you to budget within 300k-500k on arrival means you must enter Ghana with that amount so you won’t be stranded at worse 200k which is 2000 cedis

Imagine when theres a scheduled maintenance to be done on the power station, there would be a radio announcement that by xy hours, power would be interrupted and by xy hours, it would be restored.

Freedom to move about anytime of the day especially those staying in major towns and cities of ghana. But if u stay in remote areas / village's its difficult shuttling around at night.

I stay at Broadcastle not far from there shoprite(West Hills Mall) and that’s is true about the maintenance regards there electricity though I haven’t experienced any light off since i entered

For someone traveling to Ghana for 14days, how many Covid-19 test will I go through?

I went with airpeace and I booked it 135k, and you have to be with a covid test and yellow fever test!
But my friend booked his 81k but simply because I booked mine 2 days before the day i fly and he booked his a week before ! So the nearer the date you are flying the more expensive your ticket is

And also you have to show a $50 note because you will do another covid test on arrival at the Aiport in Ghana. The $50 will be payed on arrival instantly and you don’t have to pay any $50 for Ecowas stamping!
And for someone going for 14 days you have to do one in Nigeria tho Guys dey run am, then another one on arrival at Ghana Aiport and then another one after your 14 days !

I am just being surprised at how far our country have been left behind by other African countries . And to be sincere i didn’t know Ghana currency supersedes our Naira. A 100 Cedes is almost equivalent to 10 thousand naira .. meaning 1 cedes is 100 naira .

Left Nigeria for Ghana on the 23rd of March and by air and i have been impressed by what I have seen so far, Truly the Giant of Africa is no more Giant. Nigeria is just getting worse but well let’s be hopeful!

Some reactions and comments i will continue the thread and the advantages and disadvantages of living/staying in Ghana

I saw this earlier, let me make few comments
1- Majority of those who came to the UAE got stranded at one point or the other. The bitter experience is not palatable.
2- The expectations most had didn't work because the environment is hostile to Nigerians and right in your presence they will discredit you for being a Nigerian.
3- The bills attached to coming is much and the salaries paid is becoming like a widow's mite.
4- Our people have capitalized on this jobs scarcity to even scam and make the journey a bitter experience.

But in all of this, there are still few who are resilient and optimistic.

The jobs available are somewhat not what anyone planned from home.

Allow those who are negative to be negative , there are few tips in their negativity too.

If you are not STRONG and have a financial backup at home, few months may be tough.

I have friends that got to Dubai and in less than 2 weeks got a job and now have a 2 years resident visa, like I said don’t stay idle and never give up and be prayerful but one thing is sure no matter how Dubai hard reach , it’s definitely better than Nigeria 100 times

Yeah sure, even the NSE messages reads this: in reviewing your application it was noted that you are eligible for the NigeriaN Student Express!

Still send one year bank statement and ielts, mybankstatement removes the need for IRCC to verify the statement but a one year statement is still required with the required money even if you can't get mybankstatement

I have tried to communicate similar thing here but some say I am spreading fear. From SDS experience the approval rate is 80% while normal processing is 40%.

Note also that the approval rate in Nigeria for regular process last year was 19%

but my mom is my sponsor and she is using first bank and heard on this forum that first bank doesn’t support mybankstatement or so... Geez what should I do

Even if your bank is not on mybankstatement you should still send one year bank history and IELTS,. if these documents will not improve your study permit application, ircc will not put your application on hold pending when they receive this documents or the due date to submit them passed.

When IRCC send NSE letter it is because they know it gives you a better chance of approval

Just spoke with my agent because i got NSE request this midnight and she said eligibility review has started on my application and if I go through the NSE route that I have around 90% rate of my application getting approved! That it is very more better than the normal processing where the approval rate might seem below 50%

I got NSE request this midnight , I don’t even know what to do next for now lol, I called my agent and she said she had advice me to do it and even said it gives 90 percent assurance that My application will be approved . Hmmm

I swear I just got a message from IRCC now that they need something from me to continue the application.. How God work miraculously...
I am calling the agent first thing tomorrow, whenever an email pop up on my phone I checked it hurriedly for the past a month .... Please God do this for me and other PPR hopeful..
If it is a Medical request does that mean I am really on the right track.

Mehn over a month now and no medical request and no emails from IRCC, I used an agent who happened to be my mom friend, I told the agent about doing an upfront medical since 2 weeks ago and she said I should wait till they request for it, and i had to take a chill pill because doing anything against her might make mom angry that do I know better than her!... Who knows maybe my upfront medicals would have been approved�.... I don’t even know if my eligibility review has started because I don’t have access to my GCkey, i only have my email logged in on my phone and the last email I got from IRCC was when i did my biometrics a month ago!... if I had known about nairaland and this thread earlier i would have done everything myself because even now oversabi dy do me lol, i got to know about nairaland and this thread when I went for my biometrics in Lag and the Uber Driver i took in front of VFS engaged me in a conversation told me that he wants to travel out too and that nairaland has helped him out a lot without using agent, I was suprised and came on here and ever since have been here i got to know IGNORANCE is one of MAN greatest Enemy! In fact I just finish reading my SOP and Letter of Sponsor for my mom for the 1500000000th time lol

All in all, it will end in praises

But the wait is so tiring and my school is resuming by Jan 6. Don’t even know if eligibility review has started.
