There was mild drama in a bus, last week, as a lady was criticized for allowing her two children sit comfortably inside a commercial bus.

The mom had boarded the bus and paid for three seats for herself and her two children, but her action got two men infuriated and they descended on her for “spoiling“ the kids.

According to them, she should have lapped them or asked other passengers to help her lap them instead of making them have a seat to themselves. .

They claimed her action was disrespectful because some older people couldn’t get a seat in the bus and the children should have been told to stand up for them.

However, another passenger defended the lady by saying there was nothing wrong in what she did since she could afford it, but one of the men insisted that that’s not the proper way to prepare the kids for future hardship.

As a new mom/dad:

NEVER sleep in same bed as baby.

NEVER lie the baby on its chest.

NEVER smoke around baby.

NEVER over-wrap the baby.

These causes SUDDEN DEATH in babies and children under one year.

Please don’t blame your mother in law. Or village people.

Some people also say that sometimes adults move during sleep leading to the baby being pushed to the floor from bed/sofa and the parent not knowing. The baby could suffer head injuries and die. A baby should sleep face up in its own cot or in a safe Moses basket.

That’s it.

Also putting a baby face down could lead to suffocation and difficulty breathing which could easily lead to death- if this position was to be for a long period of time like a whole night of say 10-12 hours. Again, all babies should lie in their own cot, on their back, facing up.

Because sleeping on the chest can cause difficulties with breathing as the nose presses against the bed. Spending a whole night in that position can kill them before morning.

Smoking (or smokes) around a baby is very dangerous. The lungs of a baby are still immature and inhaling secondhand smoke can easily cause suffocation, very serious damage and severe chest infections like pneumonia that can become life threatening and kill the baby.

Over-wrapping a baby is unsafe because once you overwrap a baby too tightly it makes it difficult for the baby to move. Now if the baby is faced down and suffocating already, inability to turn head and move to breathe will ensure the baby’s death.

Wrap a baby. But don’t overdo.

Finally, as a new parent/guardian, Follow all these advice, Take your baby far from smokers or places with smoke, far from people who randomly kiss/lick babies, far from overzealous people who will overwrap them and far from any unsafe practice.

Former presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili, has spoken against the arrest of the publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore, calling on President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure his immediate release.

Sowore, also a former presidential candidate, was arrested early Saturday by security operatives suspected to be from the Department of State Security (DSS).

The arrest is believed to be connected to the #RevolutionNow protests which is set to commence nationwide on August 5.

“All well-meaning Nigerians should stand with YeleSowore and defend his constitutional right and freedom to protest any matter of Governance that worries him,” Mrs Ezekwesili said on Twitter.

“Mr Sowore’s convening of Citizens to protest Poor Governance – via #RevolutionNow- is Constitutionally guaranteed.”

The former education minister added: “If our NGRPresident MBuhari & FG AsoRock are not completely out of touch with the reality of distress of majority of Citizens of this country, they would handle YeleSowore‘s right to convene #RevolutionNow wisely.

Zinedine Zidane's side failed to bounce back from an embarrassing 7-3 defeat to local rivals Atletico Madrid, going down to Harry Kane's winner midway through the first half.

Madrid have looked out of sorts throughout the pre-season campaign, and although they were slightly sharper than their last outing, concerns over their readiness for the new season will continue to circulate.

Here are five things we learned from Real Madrid third pre-season loss.

Real Madrid not the real

Real just do not look like Real. Aside from short bursts, they were seen off by Tottenham, who admittedly have more miles in their legs.

One minute Luka Modric was blasting shots wide, the next Karim Benzema was missing an open goal. Harry Kane’s opener came after a defensive cock-up from Marcelo and he should have doubled the lead following yet another error by the same man.

Yes, it is pre-season. Yes, there will be rust, but this was next level shoddiness from a club we expect more from. Zinedine Zidane has work on his hands. At least Sergio Ramos picked up a yellow card.

Real Madrid need to gather momentum quickly

Real's only pre-season win so far came against Arsenal via a penalty shootout. Aside from that they have lost to Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid (in humiliating fashion) and Tottenham, sides they could come up against in the Champions League this season.

Arguably more concerning than the pre-season results, which in truth are rather unimportant, has been the lack of energy on show amid the Madrid players. Particularly in the first half, Spurs had far more zip about them. It was as if the Londoners had played more warm-up games than their opponent when in fact they've had fewer.

Zidane's men picked up the pace after the break but there is still a sense of worry going into the La Liga curtain-raiser. Madrid need to gather momentum quickly before the campaign begins or they risk starting slowly and losing ground on title rivals Barcelona at a dangerously early stage.

Hazard shows promise but goals will be expected

Still getting used to his new surroundings, Eden Hazard can be excused for not hitting the ground running in a Madrid shirt. The Belgian showed signs of promise against one of his old adversaries, typically finding space for a couple of shots with some fine shimmying but failing to find the net.

He came closest to scoring in the second half, evading his markers and getting to a second ball first but seeing a low shot blocked by Spurs youngster Japhet Tanganga. The Real Madrid fans will be hoping Hazard finds his clinical edge sooner rather than later.

Having hit the 20-goal mark for the first time last season, Hazard will be expected to be one of Real's main goal sources this term, which puts extra pressure on the 28-year-old's shoulders. It will intriguing to see how he deals with it.
