Politics / Notice How The Noise About Nationwide Hunger Protests Died Down by horsepower102: 9:43pm On Mar 19 |
Not surprising Nigerians will never disappoint in their character. They were waiting for igbos to be in the frontlines of their nation wide protests. So if things go bad they will play their favorite sports of using Igbos as scapegoat. They were so disappointed when Igbos unanimously announced no participation. Now everyone has chicken out. The few protest that happened, notice how the army and police were not firing bullets or even trying to stop the protesters. 53 Likes 8 Shares |

blancsn1: GEJ had a program called Growth Enhancement scheme where farmers receive 50% subsidy on fertilizers, for a maximum of two bags, through the use of their mobile phones or what we call Electronic-wallet system (or E-wallet). It was very sucessful and it was actually started by a yoruba Man Adewumi Adeshina. India and other countries paid him a visit then to understand how they can copy that program for their own farmers. 2 Likes |

I did Did you ever read his power reform policy? I did Did you ever read his housing policy where it was revealed that Nigeria lacked 17 million housing units? Zidoh: GEJ administration was the first time I started caring about Nigeria politics in my adult life. I used to sit down and study his plans for Nigeria and his policies. Then I will discuss with my father later about it. He had very great ideas for Nigeria. He made sure to site many projects in the north even though they hated him so much. He did reforms on fertilizer distribution and have farmers cell phone to communicate with them. India and other nations came to Nigeria because of him to study our agricultural reforms. 2 Likes |

Goodluck Jonathan backward integration policy was the last serious attempt to diversify nigerian economy to non-oil sectors using industrial policy. Cassava bread was one of the ideas they came up with thanks to Akinwumi Adesina. The opposition made fun of the idea but it was working. Our wheat importation reduced due to cassava flour substitution and we saved some of our forex. We were on the right track until the disaster called buhari was entrenched into power. Today we are getting wheat donation from war torn ukraine. 7 Likes |

igwebuike01: The distribution company (EEDC owned by Emeka offor) will not allow it to happen. That’s why I said since they won’t allow it, why don’t they generate and distribute. My problem is that they are just sitting there doing nothing. They will only wake up once another company tries to do what Barth Nnaji did. It’s almost like they are enemy of progress. That’s my problem. 2 Likes |

AlexBells: What is stopping his from raising financing or partnering with other companies to do what Barth Nnaji did in Aba. There are millions of igbos both home and abroad that will help finance EEDC to start building power plants all over the south east. Nothing is stopping Emeka offor. He needs to step aside and let someone else do it if he doesn’t want to do it. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

AlexBells: So you want manufacturing hubs like Nnewi, Onitsha, to remain with national grid. You must be insane. Okay what is stopping EEDC from building embedded power generation plants for those cities. They have the laws on their side but they are not doing it. 21 Likes 2 Shares |

DevilsEqual: I don’t hate Emeka offor but he needs to move into other business and leave power distribution. His greed delayed Geometric power from starting because he insisted that Aba ring fenced area was included in his purchase. At some point even obi of Onitsha thankfully had to step into the matter. Thank God Geometric came out successfully from the case but they became bankrupt because of it. If I was Emeka offor, I would have never let it go on that far because my love for Ndiigbo is greater than my personal greed. 15 Likes 2 Shares |

Politics / Igbos Need To Finance Geometric Power To Purchase EEDC From Emeka Offor by horsepower102: 4:47pm On Feb 29 |
This is for igbos to think about. Since EEDC power distribution company was purchased by Emeka offor, the power situation in the south east has not improved. The company frustrated and bankrupted geometric in court. If not Geometric would have started power supply to Aba years ago. The owner of the company is not patriotic to Ndiigbo and not willing to make the needed investments needed to improve power supply to the south east. This is why I propose that we should finance geometric to purchase EEDC. If geometric purchases EEDC, they can build power plants and distribute locally to different municipalities in the south east. Think about it. 29 Likes 1 Share |
Politics / Re: Adelabu: Abia Enjoys 24hr Power Supply, this Is What We Want by horsepower102: 4:30pm On Feb 29 |
It is not rocket science. Allow private companies to build embedded power plants and give them the power to distribute to specific localities. They can pay a small fee to the owners of the distribution regions like EEDC. The monopoly of the current distribution companies makes it impossible to do what Barth Nnaji did for Abia state. 16 Likes 1 Share |
