gidgiddy:
My fellow Igbos, Anam Ekene!

I have been shouting it here on Nairaland for years that there is no such thing as 'one Nigeria'. If there was, every part of Nigeria would be where you can call home, including Lagos

I have told our people doing business all over Nigeria, particularly in Lagos, to never forget 'Aku rue Ulo'. If you choose to forget, you will be rudely reminded later

Treat Lagos the way you treat your shops, make your money, but go home. Your shop is not home. Go to Lagos, work hard legitimately, invest back home.

Stop investing in Lagos unless the investment has a direct impact on growing your business. As an Igbo man, you have no business buying land, filling swamps, carving out roads, buying or building residential houses in Lagos, do it in the East! The day they will come for you, you will only have your self to blame

"Onye Kwe, Chi ya ekwe"

Thank you. All igbos should be mandated to read Chinua Achebe’s experience with other Igbos in Lagos during the early days of the counter coup.

Decentralize Nigeria, and Lagos will collapse.
If u can decentralize Nigeria that I do not need to visit Lagos before I book my embassy appointment, or travel out of Nigeria or see foriegn missons, Lagos influence will go down. This is what u guys dont know.
I give it to Anambra, for a state that was leveled down during civil war, for a region that has no special contribution from the central govt since the end of civil war, to now have some of the most educated people in Nigeria who are doing well in Nigeria and outside Nigeria, give it to them.

lagos never fought a war and lost everything and rebuild from it own money alone. I respect Igbos for one thing, they never had charge of this country, they lost a war, they lost their economy and man power and still, today, even with the over centralized Nigeria's ssystem, these guys built a region from scratch that have massive indegeneous industries, doing well in Movies, music, tech, education, omo! I respect them for that. North East sef that had small war, yet, they setup north east development commission to rebuild it. Nothing like that for East, yet, East is miles ahead of North east. Bro, when u see truth, talk, u no go die.

God bless you for acknowledging the truth. No single help for the East after the war. They were left to die.

Akpabio once asked Gowon why the post civil war reconstruction happened in Lagos instead of the old eastern region.

Ibom port won't work for same reason lekki sea port won't work

Until the law is change to allow everyone import anything from any port

That's the Koko

Soludo wanted to build pharmaceutical industrial layout in Anambra as minimum 60% of local pharmaceutical companies are owned by igbos

They told him the truth... Pharmaceutical and chemicals can only be imported through apapa not even tincan

That's why they are all in Lagos and Ogun

Such laws are the main reasons investors are holding back

I am not doubting anything you said above but it will be nice if you can refer me to any source. Some people like to pretend that their region is not actively holding this country backwards.

Yes that is why Akwa Ibom borrow against that money and send the debtors to FB

That state is the best state in Nigeria in terms of financial state

They just haven't had smart leaders who would build a their human capital development

Building roads won't do it, building factories won't do it either

They should channel all political energy to open Ibom port and watch massive investments and jobs pour into that state.

If what you say about the debt being sent to the federal government is true, then that’s the wisest decision. I didn’t know that it could be done that way.

Nice! Though i think there’s a need to start thinking of how to build clusters of high-rise apartments…about 10 to 15 stories high. This will lead to a more effective use of available land.

That’s the goal of the new city being planned for Enugu. It will have high rises.

Yes man I've been to both.. Bro I'm done arguing with you. Multiple independent organizations have come out and said Onitsha is the second largest metro. Why would a French, Asian or International organization lie?

I think for the next census we should let the UN conduct the census because obviously we cant be trusted to do it ourselves.

We should honestly let UN conduct both our elections and census. Everything in Nigeria is laced with tribalism.

Yes you need external research to confirm whats in your backyard, because when something is in our backyard we tend to be biased. This is why people try to have independent researchers or independent investigators.

I remember back in either 2010 or 2011 when an article by some French scientist who used satellite to study the population density of Nigeria. They concluded that the vast majority of the north is empty and that the official population census it absolutely false.

I trust foreigners when it comes to studies about Nigeria.

Lets be honest.

You cannot hide pregnancy with your hands.

Nigeria is trying to pretend Onitsha isn’t its second biggest city while foreigners doing independent studies always come back to the same conclusion.

The last thing Nigerians need is a president that’s looking to start a religious war, and lying about it.

That’s off the scale toxic character right there.
