The Moors were not "black Africans". They were of Berber and Arab origins. Europeans may have referred to them as "black" in the same way many Nigerians here may call a Lebanese or even an Indian man "white". Doesn't mean they were "black" in the Bantu/Negro sense. Considering our ancestors along the Nigerian coast here couldn't even sail or navigate the oceans and never advanced beyond dugout canoes, you can't be trying to claim your ancestors conquered parts of Southern Europe. It's like a man from Bangladesh trying to claim the achievements of Chinese people.

A lot of the things Afrocentrist black people claim have tenuous links to their actual heritage. One that particularly drives me mad as an Igbo man is when Igbo people claim they have Jewish origins, despite no shred of existence that we've ever set foot on the Sahara and despite the fact we're most likely a far older civilization than Semitic people. Not even that Jews descended from them (which would still be false with no shred of evidence, but plausibe), but that they descend from Jews. Even heard some Yoruba's claim to have Egyptian roots.

Instead of claiming Jesus and every man of consequence in history was black (I'm sure if there were no pictures, the same people would claim even Einstein was black), focus on the present and future. If we had all these glorious empires, why is it so damn hard to replicate in the modern world. Why can white people abandon their European homelands and build great wealth everywhere they go: North America, Oceania, South Africa, Latin America etc while we still grapple with the same old problems that stunt the black race?
