Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger does not have the financial capability and military efficieny to wage war against Nigeria and Ecomog at large. If Ecomog use military actions against Niger mali and Burkina Faso would withdraw and hid inside their shell. The three countries are landlocked which means they do not even have access to the sea, with tight blockade in the cause of war they would all be stranded and suffocated.

The three countries are Not landlocked because they are allied with Guinea's military junta an Guinea is a country bordered on the west by the Atlantic Ocean with a container port. When I see ignorant agbado fools supporting Ebola to his suicide, I will just leave. One Yoruba guy even compared Niger with Sao Tome and Principe. Some also mention Gambia. Lol, what they don't know is that Niger is a very large desert country, with over 1 million square miles! All they need to do is concentrate their tanks around Niamey then strategically place surface-to-air missiles in equidistant positions facing South. Place landmines on the roads leading towards the capital. Place snippers around villages and settlements and using human shield for cover. With fly zone in place means they can easily shoot down any plane that flies into their airspace.

The only way ECOWAS/Nigeria can win this war is to rout Nigerien army within days, but that too would be extremely difficult given the above scenario. Again, once the war drags on, small/poor ECOWAS countries will start withdrawing. Pressure will mount on Ebola as the cost begin to weigh down on Nigeria. At the end there would be a stalemate and return to negotiation.

Very funny how so many people have made this a war between Nigeria & Niger..even if Nigeria is the most powerful of the ECOWAS States but still we need to remember ourselves that war or no war this clearly between the ECOWAS & NIGER's military junta.

A lot of the flights coming from Europe to Nigeria and countries further south like South Africa go over Niger. I checked flightradar 24 last night after hearing the news and all the European airlines coming to and fro Lagos and Abuja were routed via Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali avoiding Niger airspace. Even saw a British Airways flight coming from South Africa to London made a u turn very close to Niger and headed back to South Africa.
