Hello House,

My travel date is finally here (tomorrow) and i have a little glitch. I have like $5k in my BOA account, $5k cash and want to buy more but the Banks are saying that i cant use my mum's ticket to buy now since her travel date is still in August.

As at today, black market is 226 and i think that is too high compare to 200 at the bank.

Can i just leave the naira in my account and print my statement? I reckon i am better off using GT card rate than buying black market.

Justwise didnt allow me to finish seeing that advert before taking it down grin. U too sharp . Pple coming with even more expensive accommodation packages for us houston mamas diarisGodoooo. Pls my fellow houston mums if you ve used or you know any furnished 1-2 bedroom apartment that can be rented and will be available from sept till october pls kindly pm me. I need that info bad bad. I don search taya. embarassed
Getting furnished apartments is a chore and a costly venture, i searched and searched and finally gave up. I am renting an unfurnished apartment, would rent furniture or buy at salvation army/Goodwill and see how it goes. I am sharing a 2-bed with a friend so our individual cost would be around 1200 per month plus rented furniture and other utilities.

You can check with me sometime next month to know what my experience is like. I am due to travel at the end of the month.

Hello House,

I am due to travel in a few weeks but i want my mum to come with my toddler sometime in August. I hear we (hubby and i) have to do a consent letter for her to hold authorising her to bring my daughter.

Does anyone have experience with this? Pls let me know what details the letter should contain if you do.

Thanks.

Hello House,

Pls for those that have used Oakbend Medical Centre, which accommodation is closest to the hospital?

All the ones i have googled are like 35km or so from the Jackson street campus.

I searched intown suite, extended stay etc and they seem far.

Also i dont want to consider Soul Care, Pampered Stay etc yet because they are a bit pricey.

For u all that want to b giving birth in America. U are preparing ur kids to declare their assets and pay tax wherever they are in the world. Thanks to Obama and his smart policy called FATCA. u will sign this form stating open declaration of ur earnings which is taxable whether or not u reside in the US (US Indicia) as long as u use their passport. If u dont believe then google the word FATCA Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act grin
FATCA is really nothing to be worried about. When our children begin to earn income and pay tax. It is their civic responsibility so they sure will when the time comes.

FATCA is really targeted at the rich that keep alot of their money offshore the US to avoid taxes.

As the saying goes...two wrongs don't make a right.

In one way or the other, most people talking about when to travel or healthcare in Nigeria/US have their points but i just think that we need to be more polite on this thread.

A lot of people are very opinionated around here which is not bad so far you are not trying to pull anyone down by it.

Probably if someone was not trying to force their opinion on the other person by travelling early or late, we wont be here.

As others have rightly said, do whatever seems right with you.

A yoruba saying goes --- ma fi ago alago sise meaning --- dont work with other people's time.

Every mallam wit him kettle grin

My opinion!

Hello People,

I am an August Mum and plan to travel 1st or 2nd week in July. I am in a dilemma!

I don't know if to buy my ticket and change money before or after election due to the rising price of the dollar and uncertainties about the outcome of the elections.

What do you guys think?

Biko which test is TORCHES? I cant see it on the list of tests i received from Dr Fagbohun / Dr Ziworitin.

TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by HotChoco2(f): 2:51pm On Feb 16, 2015
Pls does anyone have the contact details for Oakbend (i.e. the email address for the hospital). I have gotten in touch with Dr Z / Dr Fagbohun but i have not been able to get the hospital's email address.

Or does the doctor's letter alone suffice?

It haff do ooooo iyawotobe no vex! Bia nobody is cuttn any slack 4 anyone here. Its unfair 2 ask repetitive questions here na. 350 pages is toooo small. Check out USA student visa enquiries dat has up 2 part 6. If u wn't info tk ur time. Write dwn d one u want den wen u feel u hv exhausted ur options u can ask questions. Imagine wat happened 2 d babe dats goin 2 d embassy again becos of lack of info. If she had done her homewrk well it wuldn't hv happened. I also use doctoresparati lettr. I was one of dose dat got approved wit it. Bt I tink aftr my interview transcript d bouncing started. Its 4 ur own gud. Pple will come & get info 4 rm here & use it 4 business sef. Dat person took her time 2 read also. As 4 mi, i'll waka pass if I c say na question wey dem don answer b4. I believe wen every one does dat nobody will tell u 2 read thru. Dere's noting on dis page u wn't find! Trust mi.... 4 pple asking 4 PTA e no hard. Go 2 all ur banks & ask dey will tell u if dey do or not. Dis too was discussed on dis thread last year.... it's well ooooo
My point exactly...just ignore instead of venting!

Mean and bitchy? cheesy Yet you gave that lame argument up there. cheesy cheesy

I got good info because I read through the thread and it would have been boring and more rigorous for me If I repeatedly ran into the same info on the same topic while reading through.

I can't relate to lazy people like you dear. We don't speak the same language. I don't understand you. I don't want to understand you. Now do yourself a favour and stop quoting me.
I will keep quoting you for as long as i want. Get off your high horse babes. Life is too short. Stop dissipating so much energy, have a cold drink.

I see you are unreasonable.

Shame!

There are all kinds of stupid things that annoy me but what annoys me most is a lazy argument such as this. Why do you want everything to be given to you on a platter? If you wanted that, you should have simply hired a consultant (one of them is presently on dealdey charging 90k) to spoon feed you with the info you desire.
Madam take some chill pills, i already have most of the info i need from here because i took time to read the thread. I am just talking on behalf of other people. Some comments on going to read the whole thread are not nice at all. I just think we can all get along without being mean and bitchy to each other.

Who are you to say what another person is saying is stupid? You are also talking as if all you did on this thread was give, i am sure you got good info as well. I am sure if the people before you on this thread were this mean then we wont have good info like we do now.

Stop playing God!

Live and lets live!

Hello sorry you have to redo your interview. This clearly happened because people have refused to read if u had u would ve seen this issue came up before and alot of people stopped using them.

Now 3 threads ve been spent on just where to buy PTA n document needed when we have banks in all neighbourhood.

Glad I got here before the none reading culture started.

Please for the newbies go n read at least from the middle of the thread

All the best peeps
I am fairly new as a member on this thread but i have always been a guest reader. I think we should cut the newbies some slack on this issues of reading the thread from the beginning. As at today, the thread has 350 pages which is a lot to read from start to finish. I will suggest that if someone asks a question and you feel the answer has been given a while back and you do not feel like responding again, you can just ignore. I think its better that a zillion people telling newbies to go and read from the beginning.

Let's be a little nicer and accommodating...its not easy. grin

My opinion!
