No, they’re not the first Yoruba settlers in Lagos. They’re Saros who were enslaved Yoruba people from the hinterland, in the new world and they returned to Nigeria in the 19th century.

In case you don’t know: there was a period around 1850 when they were expelled from Lagos but the Aworis allowed them to return and settle on Lagos Island.

So if I may ask: why would aboriginal Yorubas be expelled from their own land by other Yorubas?

I somewhat agree with you, however, this isn’t the time to get emotional. All Yorubas have to defend Lagos and once that’s achieved - people can air out their grievances.

Also, I believe most Yoruba globally are in favour of a Yoruba country - although most are quiet about it because there isn’t a clear path on how to achieve it, for now. Once the path becomes clearer - you will see it. Yoruba unionists and liberals are loud/active but they’re in the minority.

Anyone who has a good understanding of how countries work won’t be against Yorubas moving on from Nigeria. Nigeria has the Igbo-problem: a problem similar to a toxic relationship whereby holding onto it, rather than breaking it up - will eventually lead to self-destruction. And that’s basically where it’s headed.

"Outside Rivers and Imo wrong figures, INEC did a good job"

The statement above recently gained significance among APC politicians and supporters.

Is the statement above a fact or fiction? Before you answer the question, lets consider the stand of the ruling party for past few days.

They strongly claimed, the election was fair and free. There was no rigging. Anyone not satisfied should go to court.

However, over the weekend, the statement matured to "Its only Rivers and Imo".

Now that they have agreed that rigging took place in Rivers and Imo, are they ready to face the reality of the consequence?

Consequences
1. For 2 states results to be falsefied, it means the whole election result is doubtful. when forensics start, it will not end in Rivers and Imo, the whole results will be verified to assertain the level of damages caused by fraud or rigging.
2. Rivers is not the only strongly Obidient state, Plateau, Benue, Edo, Lagos, Taraba (Ondo to some extent) are also fanatically Obidient. But the result from the states came out to be duds. Its either Obi lost in those places or won with tiny little margins not significant for his Victory.

Either way, you look at it, its not looking GOOD for Tinubu APC
