Thank God India is not a copycat society like Nigeria that swallow every madness dish out to us by the west.
Are you implying that it's better for Indian men to forcefully have unnatural sex with their wives than swallow western madness that criminalizes marital rape and forced unnatural sex with wives? Just wow shocked

6 months is adequate for yearly tenants. I also have a couple that has to leave at the end of their first rent now because they are very stubborn. His 6 months started counting from February and he's been begging through his lawyer and family but no way! Take it easy with the landlord and see exactly why he wants you out...unless the building was sold, most landlords won't tell you they want to renovate within one year of renting out a fresh apartment

This is a response to the original post in case you chose not to see it. Better my child is allowed to go to university at 16...I also began my university journey at 16. What will they be doing between when they finish and when they clock 18? You can keep your children till 18 but mine are smart enough to know their left from right even at their tender ages now.

The other part of my post under your quote is my response to you. You have no right to slap and harass those people you said you caught...it's not within your power as a class rep to discipline them! There's a CSO, there's students ' affairs division and even the students disciplinary committee that they can face eventually. However, we've had cases of 400, 500L students doing all sorts of things in the classrooms... a girl that'll be nasty will be, even if got into university at 21!

Sometimes I wonder how people get money to LIVE in Nigeria! What Ajaero's team put out there is very apt, but these guys can't pay it, even if they have it. Hence, what is more important here is for the government to work on the economy so that whatever they pay as minimum wage will be a living wage

Politics / Re: 87 Per Litre Of Fuel Was Too Expensive. by Houseontherock1: 7:57am On Apr 29
nairalanda1:

Yes, 87 naira was damm expensive

Am about to give you guys a little explanation, and no, I am not here to defend or attack any politician, and for the record, tinubu and buhari were wrong on subsidy removal in 2012.

1. By the time fuel was at 87 naira, it was available that way in a few petrol stations, it was above 100 elsewhere. Don't believe me..

Here is a vanguard report from 2014

And here is a poll from that time too

Here is Ipman explaining why they can't sell fuel above 97 per liter in 2013

The truth is the cost of maintaing that subsidy at 97 in 2012 was about 2 naira in January..it went up to 50 naira per liter in 2015.

Let's back up a bit.. Jonathan met fuel at 65 naira ..when he raised it to 141 naira , subsidy costs were at 35 naira per liter. Also, subsidy costs tripled from 2010 to 11

Why am I telling you all this?

Because if Jonathan had won the election, he would have been forced to raise fuel prices

2. Between 2011 to 14 , our revenues were at an all time.high. that's why we had money for subsidy. But in April 2014, the Saudis and the america ns went to war over crude prices, and the resulting drop was a nightmare

By January 2015, gej was.borrowoing to pay salaries.

That means that if he had won, we woild have still had to remove subsidies totally because quite simply, fall in oil prices meant no money.

3. When fuel went down to 87 naira, scarcity got worse. It was only in certain major marketers that fuel was available at that price. Many independent marketers had since 2014 been selling fuel above 100 naira per liter, some.as high as 200 naira. See my links above

Summary is simple. We have been throwing and are still throwing away.billions on a subsidy that is becoming more.and more expensive to keep

T'would have been better if gej had removed subsidies totally in 2012. But he kept them. Still buhari and tinubu are also more.at fault for maintaing subsidies today.

And let's be honest, gej expanding subsides worsened our fiscal situation. Especially when oil prices were dropping and cuts needed to be made.

Our leaders are all the same. They sacrifice the economy for their benefit.

Nothing like cheap fuel
The OP is right...people protested and called for Jonathan's head back in the days, but where are these people today? Let's be sincere,we are just too sentimental to be reasonable as a people

Unfortunately, we were told that they are still paying subsidy...so, what exactly have we gained with the pseudo removal of subsidy? Minimum wage was 30,000 when we paid 140 for fuel, minimum wage is still 30,000 today and fuel is 800 per liter! This is wickedness at the highest level

Politics / Re: New Electricity Tariff: Band β€˜A’ Homes May Spend N170,000 On Electricity Monthly by Houseontherock1: 5:15pm On Apr 28
The best social-welfare program in the country is subsidy! It reaches everyone and everything. IMF's advice that the government should remove subsidy and redirect the money to social-welfare programs is very unfair to the people. Now, they are still paying subsidy and the people are now paying through their noses. It would have been cheaper, easier, more convenient and more people-friendly to simply pay more attention to the subsidy itself undecided

Unfortunately, more subsidy is being paid according to El-Rufai undecided

In other words; the people are now paying more than 3x of what they were paying before this "subsidy" removal while the government is still paying so much on subsidy... it's a lose-lose situation for the masses!
Fuel has been scarce for over one week now and those that are selling are doing so at cutthroat prices...it is well

A pyrrhic victory

After Mr Patrick has deducted his SAN's legal fees, and other monies he spent on logistics pursuing this case since 2011, I wonder how much he will have left.

This is one of the reasons why people have lost confidence in the Nigerian Judiciary. Justice delayed is almost always Justice denied angry

Even the PSquare guys are extremely wicked.. They couldn't pay off Mr Patrick when they failed to show up at his event after being paid, but they had money to pay lawyers to frustrate him and drag the matter right up to the Supreme Court angry...

In this kind of situation, the court further awarding exemplary damages of like 300m against PSquare would have set a deterrent against such disgusting behaviour...

The OP is being mischievous with the title...the plaintiff will get about 25million apart from the 1M which is cost for the application. The 25M may not be much but I'm sure it'll set the duo back in this economy while it'll bridge a gap for Mr Arinze, no matter how little

THE Supreme Court of Nigeria has decided in favour of Mr Patrick Arueze in a breach of contract case against Peter and Paul Okoye popularly called P-Square and their brother Jude Okoye and they are to pay Arueze about N25 million.
