MrTour:
This is not a legal action matter if you have complained, given them time and they haven't carried out any speedy action.

I had a similar issue as yours where their incompetent staff placed a bid against my will. All Nigerian banks have incompetent staff and I must say Stanbic IBTC is one of those banks with the least of such fools.

All you need to do is forward a letter to their main customer service email, follow it up with a phone call to the sane department and unleash all your anger in that email if you don't get a favorable response within 48 hours I will refund you the money.
Hahahaha Pal, lemme forward my account details for the payment lol.
I want to verify if the banker that made the mistake is still working with the bank?
The second in command of my branch was the one who made the mistake. And he has been calling and sending texts that the fate of his work depends on any further actions by me. Inasmuch as I want to be considerate, I wouldn't want to entertain any loss upon terminating the investment. Please, what was your issue with them, and did they rectify it to your initial instruction? Thanks

@Freeman67... Well said, but the lawyer is my brother. Just weighing all options incase the bank decides to play games. Thanks

I suggest that you contact their customer service centre and register your complaint. Going forward, make copies of your application letter/executed form.

Before you take any action, request for a new copy of the form that you filled and read the "fine prints" very well. Banks tend to prepare themselves well for scenarios like these. You might have signed away your rights!

By the way, which bank is this?

cc: freeman67
Thanks done that. Gave the copy to my lawyer, and he read through and did told me I had a good case but pending when I contact the customer care tomorrow. To get detailed explanations. And get possible full returns or I take action l, if they give me less than I invested for their negligence. Bank is Stanbic IBTC.

@Gurus in the house..
If you instructed your bank to bid for 365-days (1-year) tenor on your behalf, and instead they bidded for 182-days (6 -months) tenor without your consent, can one take legal action against them if upon request to terminate the investment they do not return the original amount invested??

Please, anyone with idea and experience on Treasury Bills should kindly help with suggestions on how to tackle such scenario. Thanks in anticipation

The rates do not vary from bank to bank. It is the same across board. If you are bidding for yourself just study the trends and cast your net.
Bank rates differs but CBN's rate is same for all banks. If you see from the rates people have been posting here since yesternight, some banks gave 18.5 like FCMB and some 17.5..
RomanceRe: Am I Too Introverted? Please Help by Houstency(m): 5:59pm On Dec 15, 2016
Ginaz:
I don't know the right section to post this but I really need to know cos I'm tired already so forgive me.

I'm in my early twenties, I'm the kind of girl that just love being alone with herself. I don't go clubbing, don't go to parties( except I don't have a choice and I'm being forced by my mother, marriage tinx)

I have few friends, just 4 I share deep emotional matters with. I'm always alone when at home, in fact I get excited about it.

I have never visited anyone this year, except on 2 occasions. Only 2 have visited me also, I close from work straight home and sleep, read novels or watch movie.

I like social stuff but too much of it kills me, makes me shy and tired. Now I'm at my aunt's house, I've been inside my room since Saturday, I only come out to do house chores. This is my personality but I feel people don't understand.

My aunt just had a talk with me right now that I keep myself from people, and it's getting me mad cos I didn't think it that way.

Nairalanders, please am I too introverted or what? Is there something I'm missing? Please.
I must commend your innocent looks and pretty face. (Crushing .. shocked lol)

This book should help you better understand yourself. 'Why You Act the Way You Do' by Tim F LaHaye.. You learn alot there about the different temperaments, blends, and how to maximise the gains peculiar to your temperament. A small read, not more than 500naira or you could download online. Regards

I'm planning to use a rate of 18.5, UBA against 28th December please advice me.
I think it would have been better you see the rates given by other banks for 1year before deciding the bank to settle with. But Stanbic should offer better than that and you could as well bid with your own rate.

Since your account has been debited...it means your funds have been invested in the Treasury Bills for you.

Ask them for your Investment Letter to see the details (Rate, tenor, etc)
With inflation rate at 18.33, please what rate can we bid for 364days tenor?

To liquidate ur investment, you need to approach your dealing bank/investment house. Remember to count your loss properly.
Thanks very much for your prompt response. For the loss, that's where I have issue. What my bank gave me is way less than the original profit I was given for the investment in the first instance, making me lose more money. And I've held the investment for close to six months, the amount I got from my own calculation is way different, what do you suggest I do in this case Sir?

Only the big players operate in that league. Individuals don't buy OMO the way Tbills are bought.
Thanks very much Sir for your reply.

Women keep on clamouring for gender equality, which I'm not against...
But come to think of it, is it forbidden for a Naija lady to do this to the boyfriend.. Why always the guy giving and ladies are meant to receive alone?? In short, real African Ladies should go to the other room and complain less , from the unreal world championed by excessive Telemundo and that Indian channel.

Real African men knows how to spoil our women silly. They deserve it. Good one from the guy in question!
