Which do you propose and why? Meanwhile what do you really have in mind? As a Kogi man, what do you propose for your people? Stay with the North? Have a middle Belt Republic or go with East or West? Let us talk a bit about your people not Ndigbo. Ndigbo seem to know the solution to their security challenge and have experimented on it unlike other Nigerian Nationalities so stop advising or discouraging Ndigbo and advise your people and others that do not seem to know what to do so that when jungle mature, everybody will be constructively building a state for his people instead of destructively trying to sabotage the Igbo because an idle mind is the devil's workshop. karfe: |
you sound like aloy emeka. are you her? its people like you who fuel these big messes to begin with. too late to cover your tracks now, sorry. anyway, how e even take concern me- i dont do politics.
You dont do politics yet you made a general statement about Igbo based on an altercation you had with Ezeuche now called out to prove your assertion you keep weaving and dodging and now are making me out to be the offending party or trying to cover my tracks or trying to give me another moniker. Are you serious.? Instead of this damage-management mode, why not just accept your mistake and apologize if possible. I would not have bothered to respond to your post if you were some other posters I know for deliberate misinformation or outrignt fallacies about the Igbo but I have read some of your posts and saw some objectivity which I alluded to in my first response to you unless I misjudged you. Since you want to carry on like this then I desist from trying to correct you and wish you the best. But if you sincerely wanted to know why Ndigbo voted for Jonathan, google is your friend. It is not yet 12 months the polls took place. Check opinions of Ohaneze or Igbo governors on this issue not just Ezeuche or any person on the net . Thank you. |
Great contribution Nchara. |
Still waiting for your proof that Igbos voted for Jonathan because they mistook him for being Igbo. Ebele and Azikiwe are Jonathans name and were not added. Ebele is an Ijaw name. Full name is Ebelemi which is Ijaw and not Ebelechukwu which is Igbo. Azikiwe was given to him by his father because of his reverence for the late Statesman. I have no qaurel with you but for you to post that Igbo voted for Jonathan because of name or because they thought him to be Igbo is faulty and an insult to the whole Igbo race. In the second republic, many Igbos did not vote for Azikiwe so why should 30 years later they vote for somebody because he is answering his name? |
OP is Funniest poster I have met on NL. Surprised at the attention he is getting. Good to try to school him and correct the fallacies he has imbibed from his environment but I wonder whether it will do any good. He appears so much steeped in his idiocyncracies that I wonder whether he is really stupid or just doing a propaganda job. When you see so many threads sprouting out trying to stop the splitting of Nigeria you really wonder whether it is not an agenda of a certain mastermind. Their actual betrayal of total and complete ignorance and yet boldness to strut onto the internet stage with stories based on civil war propaganda and my papa/mama/teacher told me bereft of research is so amazing and nauseating that you really want to puke. Can you believe that when asked to google, they say that the internet will be biased. Igbos now control the internet. Sad.So sad. |
i continuously wonder how and why people will support somebody enmasse just because he or she claimed some vague linkage in order to win an election? ![]() i was attacked by ezeuche on this very matter for daring to ask a question about jonathan's "igboness". imo, anybody who wants to claim distant kinship with some clan, should do so personally [head for your "family" compound, not the whole tribe] and not on a political platform. I mean, its too obvious or is that just me. i found it so amazing that gej who even someone who has never seen a black person before, talkless a nigerian, would recognize as an ijaw man, suddenly claimed to be igbo and not only that [since he's entitled to claim whatever he wants], people actually swallowed it hook, line and sinker and practically took up arms on that account. has to be one of the seven wonders of the universe imo.
On what date or ocassion did Jonathan claim to be Igbo and not Ijaw?In which forum did Igbos say that Jonathan is Igbo and not from Otuoke , Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa State. In which discuss did Igbo vote enmasse for Jonathan because he is Igbo and not Ijaw? I expected better analysis from you having been reading some of your other posts on NL. Igbos voted for Jonathan because of many reasons one being that he was the best of the options presented for voting but never for ever thinking that he was Igbo. If you had a run-in with Ezeche or other Igbo dude should that make you make such a patronising and condescending post about the generality of the Igbo? Igbo just like Yoruba or Hausa have the right to choose whomever they feel can protect their interest best to vote for without such a castigation. They also have the right like other ethicities to vote enmasse like in 2011 or to vote disjointedly as in many other polls without being questioned. That is democracy for you. |
Quote from Shangotor Re: Splitting Nigeria Now Would Have Devastating Consequences On The South « #31 on: Today at 07:34:19 PM » -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) If there were a U.N. Sponsored Referendum today, I am of the opinion that Northern Nigeria would actually lose territory in relation to how the territory was mapped out under Lugard as the people of the middle belt would opt to go with the South. 2) The truth is that the Islamic separatist aggressors will not give up their cause hence all other communities have choices to either band together to control the eventual outcome of their expansionist aggression or to fall prey and wait like sitting ducks. 3) A genuine SNC can only be conducted after the Islamic North have been excised from the Union. From this point, which ever Community would like to go their separate way, subject to a referendum should be allowed to peacefully under the supervision or input of international mediators. The idea is to let the people decide, and in reality the different peoples of the South do not have to like one another or hold hands as neighbours whilst skipping into the SunSet. If they want to go off and do their own thing, let them. 4) So let's talk about Military strategies, it's simple really. The Western Militia (Yorubas) hold the Western flank, the Eastern Militia (Ndigbo) hold the Eastern Flank, The Tivs, Beroms etc hold the Middle Belt (Centre ground) which serves as a buffer to the other Militias, and Further South (Ijaws, Itshekiri, Ilajes etc) hold the rear flank (part Coast), just in case or as a back up. Game over (game, set and match) to Northern Islamic domination. Great points Shango but excising the North will result in a very bloody conflict as they will be supported by niger, chad, northern cameroun, sudan and infact all nations north of Nigeria down to the middle East. So it is better we explore all peaceful means for a UN-supervised split untill it becomes a last resort and by then we should be prepared militarily and economically for the long haul or a surgical strike like the 6-day war and also have the world powers behind us for the conflict. But your presence of mind is quite examplary. Easterners should quit thinking of seccesion of the East as a first resort. That is defensive. Let us think of and work towards an all-embracing referendum or similiar UN sponsored protocol as the first resort to a split but if that fails, for a compromise for a confederation and if all fail, we should put on an offensive mood of excision of the North as Shangor suggested than seccesion of the East and then an eventual referendum for regional autonomy or independence but we should be militarily prepared for self defence or even attack. The issue is this, the war zone if ever there is another should never be in our land again but the land of whoever the enemy is or becomes. |

karfe:You can visit the thread: 'the true extent of Igboland' here on NL or other research tools. Your suggestion is not bad and was actually the spirit of Aburi accord that Gowon and his advisers threw away that resulted in the declaration of Biafra. That could be an acceptable compromise as long as each of the entities will have their military for protection of her people. A clause for unilateral seperation can be included for any of the entities to pull out if the union does not work but the issue is that nobody is doing any thing about that despite all the shout for SNC which occupy Nigeria blattantly left out in their ten point agenda. How do we even start the momentum rolling on this your suggestion? |
chima12:From his other posts in other threads, I think that the OP is from the SW. |
karfe:Another concerned citizen trying to cry for Ndigbo. I hope you heard Onlytruth's answer. For your information let me expand on that. Ndigbo are native to the SE states of Abia,Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi , SS states of Rivers and Delta and to a lesser extent in Edo, Cross River, Bayelsa, Benue states etc, Why do you folks always want to show us false gloomy pictures and fail to tell us 1/how we can be protected in Nigeria,2/ how we can fulfill our potentials in Nigeria without attracting the hate and envy of others.3/ How the greatness of Biafra can be replicated in nigeria or Africa.4/ How to stop the advance of terrorism and muslim fundamentalism southward in Africa. And by the way is Bangladesh regretting being a Nation and if they have so much population density that is causing social concerns, Can't they evolve solutions to those as Japan did and is doing in their thousands of islands? China with over a billion population is lending to US. what is the population density of both Nations? India is about 1 billion now and is among the fastest growing world economies of BRIC. How much land do they have? First thing my friend is life. Once there is life, there is hope. |
@OP. Your topic contradicts your write-up. No need to mislead with the topic so change the South there to East so we know you are clearly talking to Easterners. Now to respond to your question, I keep asking why so many folks are so eager to help Ndigbo. Why cry more than the bereaved? You are saying that splitting Nigeria will have devastating consequences for us abi? How much devastation are we suffering in Nigeria now? How much more devastation are we supposed to put up with before we split? Ok if we are on our own and are now exposed to dangers from outside, does it not appear safer to you that a man is exposed to danger less from outside than from inside his house. If from outside, he can barricade the doors fight from inside his house to keep out intruders while waiting for external reinforcement. But if the attack is from inside his house, it is always fatal. 1/ Ndigbo need their own Nation most importantly to protect themselves and then secondarily to protect their friends and neigbhours. Israelis were an easy prey to all comers until the events of 1948 and they had their own Nation. Now you can't kill an Israeli without paying for it. Even crimes committed against them pre-1948, they have been able to get justice for eg the Nuremberg Trials. 2/ Ndigbo need their own Nation to develop economically at their own pace and with bilateral trade and economic relations with the developed world without distractions from other groups and barriers by some Nigerian anti-Igbo policies and without the continous destruction of economic development by the corrupt Nigerian state. Having developed, they will be in a position to empower her people and help her friends and Neighbours and the rest of Africa and third world. Such Economic development will afford Ndigbo enough opportunities and infracstructure to invest at home and will discourage exodus to the North and other places that may result in such killings as we are witnessing now. 3/ Watchers of global trends and Strategists knew that it was only a matter of time before Al Quedda and other Muslim terror groups cast their eyes on Nigeria and Africa. It does not take a genius to know that they will have easy access to the North because of Islam. Western and Middlebelt Muslims especially the non-fulani ones are mostly moderate and so more difficult to radicalise so but still have potentials for access but SE and SS peoples are mostly Christian so when BH says their war is also against CAN, Igbos immediately know that they are part of the targets as BH will see them as part of CAN after all CAN is not a person and this has been borne out by events. Note that BH enemies keep expanding. At first it was against Western Education. Later it expanded to encompass Government institutions that were pro-west . Later it expanded to include Security Agencies who were hunting them down now they have included CAN just because of alleged canibalism by Beroms on fulani herdsmen. So Beroms now eqaul to CAN. And so craftily they have found a reason to rope in Ndigbo. This shows more that it is or has become a political organisation out to cow GEJ and her supporters both in North and South especially Ndigbo for their overwhelming support for Jonathan and their ambition for presidency in 2015. If Ndigbo had their own Nation with their own military, dont you think that the threats on and killing of Igbos in Mubi and other places will be a declaration of war by BH on another sovereign Nation. 4/ Finally and in relation to point 3 above, I believe that subsaharan Africa needs at least one World power to evolve within it and I think the Igbo Nation of whatever name it will be called with her human, material and other resources has huge potentials to fill that gap that Nigeria could not. A little glimpse at the wonders attained by the short-lived Biafra will reveal what an Igbo Nation developed properly over peace time would achieve in the medium and long term. Such a world power will be in a position to stop the advance of Boko Haram or Al Quedda or Islam downward. The WorldPowers should have realised by now that stopping Biafra was a mistake and need to help create a new Igbo Nation that will help them contain Terrorism and Islamic fundamentalliusm in Africa just as the creation of the state of Israel has helped contain terrorism and Arabism in the middle East. So please perish that thought and prophecy of gloom and doom for Ndigbo. |
Any Source to this story? |
Instead of a foreigner, bring back Marvel Akpoyibo from retirement if he has really retired and give him a 24-36 months contract to sanitise NPF. Pity that Haz Iwendi died too soon after all the training he was sent to Scotland Yard to receive. |
Gekko:What? Man you a baddass. |
FKK trying so had to explain the inconsistencies and contradictions SLS exposed. To think that I used to respect this man. I am not a fan of SLS but in this interchange, he comes out appearing more civilised while FKK sounds like he is experimenting on powder again. It is always wrong to respond in anger. Even if he was speaking the truth, he could have done a better job when his anger had gone instead of this approach of 'my mercedes is bigger than yours.' |
Good Agenda for protest. Shame that occupy Nigeria had a 10-point agenda and neither The killings in the North nor SNC nor True federalism/ fiscal federalism/ Resource control was good enough to make it into their Agenda. Big shame. |
Other States in SE and SS need to join this protest as well as our ppl in the SW and Abuja. I wonder how Occupy Nigeria could trivialize the value of human life by not including the BH killings as one of their ten-point agenda (even if it was the last)and expected the SE and SS to join them. BS. |
This is obvious to students of Nigerian history. The whole nine yards replayed as some of us predicted. Govt removes subsidy. Labour barks Govt reduces the price of fuel. Labour backs down. Life goes on untill next season of the series. When folks were predicting doomsday and regime change bec ause of this. We laughed. Probably they are too young to know what happens here or have not been paying attention. |

Good attempt but Christians, shine your eye. Shine your eye. Shine your eye. How many times? |
Their concern now should be how to divest from there and relocate. |
Great idea. |
Prophetic but map needs revising and refining. |
Good that folks are seeing the hidden agenda of some for the strike action. Many are sincerely protesting but many more have a hidden agenda. The SE/ SE leaders have seen through the ruse. I hope the call for SNC and eventually will continue and eventually lead to a peaceful split. |
That Nigeria wasted the technological advancements of Biafra due to prejudice was a horrible mistake. Clearly necessity is the mother of invention and in other climes and with Statesmen at the helm of affairs, A committee would have been set up to utilise the advances made by Biafra both military and technological but here bias coldly blind our mind. Some foreign powers have secretly lured some brains from here and are using them for their own technological progress. |
Ok have seen it and voted. |
Want to vote but cant find the voting button. Of course it is a resounding yes. Our concern should be to make the split peaceful and not violent but those who make peaceful split impossible will have to be ready for a violent one. It may not be immediate but it will surely come. The stone has been set rolling so folks should start gradually selling off their investments and start re-investing nearer home and gradually move their families before it is done in ahurry and they become refugees. |
