Alh Harem wrote Genetic analysis was actually carried out and it was found out that 5 groups in the SS are more closely related to the Yoruba/Nigerians than your so called group These groups are as followed Ijaw/Kalabari Itsekiri Bini/Edo Urhobo/Isoko Ilaje http://www.raceandhistory.com/cgi-bin/forum/webbbs_config.pl/noframes/read/2139 so I don't see where you are coming from. Dude I checked Your reference and found no mention of genetic study. What were mentioned are historical, mythological and linguist linkages to Egypt ,Ilaje, Bini and Itsekiri. Ilaje, Bini and Itsekiri we already know but their claim of Egyptian descent remains to be proved.Again no mention of Ijaw and Urhobo/Isoko. Were you mistaken in your reference or will you actually descend so low in intellectual dishonesty to score an internet brownie point? |
I had to visit this thread again because of certain posts here. Why folks will come out here and say that SS and SE will not join to protest the subsidy removal beats me. Is that what those regions said or have the people saying this suddenly become the mouthpiece of SS and SE? Does protesting against a policy automatically translate to a vote of no confidence against the government. How do folks make these illogical leaps in reasoning? What the SE/SS will vehemently oppose is efforts to use the protest as an excuse to remove GEJ and believe me if those two zones do not join in the protest, it means that they have realised that the protest is just a ruse for those still mad at GEJ's ascent to power. BESIDE THAT, THERE IS NO REASON FOR THEM NOT TO JOIN THE PROTESTS. My problem here is that folks who have been mad about GEJ being in power and who even said before the election that a minority is unelectable and that minorities do not have the acumen to rule the Country and those that said they will make the nation ungovernable are the most Vocal opposers of GEJ. This makes it clear that GEJs' 'crimes' is not what they are shouting about but his origins and their soreness at their candidates losing the election. This background is certainly what folks will remember and that might make them undecided about joining the protest since the real agenda is questionable and this has been confirmed on this thread by some who say that it will be AN OPPORTUNITY for a coup. The fact is that this is not the first time that fuel prices have been tampered with. OBJ did it severally but nobody talked about using it to depose him. I personally think that the timing of the subsidy removal was wrong. All the goodwill that GEJ garnered from the state of emergency broadcast he seemed to sqaunder a few days later by the subsidy removal. IT IS NOT GOOD TO FIGHT TOO MANY BATTLES AT DIFFERENT FRONTS AT THE SAME TIME BUT ON SECOND THOUGHTS DESPERATE TIMES REQUIRE DESPERATE MEASURES.IT COULD REALLY BE THAT THE ECONOMY IS ABOUT TO FACE A DESPERATE TURN. However my interpretation of his move no matter how wrongly timed is that it is an invitation to treat. OBJ used the same strategy severally to jerk up fuel price gradually. So this policy I think is an attempt to re-negotiate the price of fuel with the Nation and It will eventually result to a slight increase not a complete withdrawal of the subsidy. Those who think IT is an opportunity for a coup ARE IN FOR A SURPRISE SINCE IT IS A PLANNED PROGRAMME. |
@ Onlytruth. I sent you a mail. |
Thought folks came here for a constructive discussion. I see they are just out here to spout hate, tranfer agression from other threads or discussions and proclaim their imagined intelligence or intellectual superiority over others. SMH. Walks away from thread still shaking head. |
Gbawe:Dude, This is a thread addressing a specific issue and you went into overdrive. Was aghast at your comment that had no bearing to what you were responding to. If you want only the person you quoted to comment on your post, better send the person an email. This forum is for discussions not only for dialogues between two persons. |
Gbawe:WHAT ARE YOU ON ABOUT BUDDY? Please come down to my level so I can understand clearly. Who talked about strength here or are you transferring something from another thread? Burning of mosques? balance of violence? Who are 'the owners of Nigeria' ? what are the events on the ground please? What history and how has that been overtaken? Could you please enlighten us more as it appears you are the mouth piece of these coup plotters whether real or imagined |
Gbawe:Deal. |
Even though people are sore about the oil subsidy removal, If anything happens to GEJ or his presidency that is not via the ballot box, believe me that will hasten the end of Nigeria as we know it. Gbawe: |
There are many things I can say about this issue but I refrain untill I know whether it is true or not. |
The way I see it the removal will not be done completely. Eventually there will be negotiations and government will pipe down and remove just some of the subsidy not all. No matter how painful or costly economically it is for GEJ, he will not want to fight so many battles at different fronts at the same time. By the time Labour cripples the economy, Government will come to negotiate as OBJ did. I think that Govt strategy is to aim at the sky and fall at the roof. The restlessness in the Nation coupled with the BH and other issues make it difficult for the govt to be rigid about this issue |
mikeansy:Pointed point. I agree with all the pontifications, but it falls short. What do you want GEJ to give BH and their sponsors before they are assuaged, the Presidency? Clearly that is what the whole unrest is about. ACN and the rest of the opposition should come out boldly and call for SNC or confederation orv worse as the lasting solution. No beating about the bush about this. |
We have been saying this forever. Time to talk is now but if you are talking to a wall, what do you do next? Give me freedom or give me death. |
After all said and done the compromise might come to about 80 naira per litre |
mukina2:Good that you have started revealing classified information. Now please do us the favour of declassifying the whole thing. Post all the votes by whom and from what ip as well as the date the moniker was created to stem the controversy you yourself have helped inflame. Do us this favour and put everything to rest else you will appear partisan. Note that rigging is not only by creating multiple iids. Their are other sophisticated ways. So go ahead declassify the whole poll let us analyse it. |
muyete:I think the guy is dead judging from the comments of those who know him on his fb page |
Good move if their successors will not start all over again but continue from the intelligence reports they already have. If not there will be a window of lacuna the terrorists will exploit. Ultimately an agenda for a peaceful split needs to be engineered. |
I am really happy for you OAM4J., the new kid on the block. I see you are growing in confidence and assertiveness. Keep it up. I really miss Aisha, my all-time favourite moderator and the other guy. I have forgotten his moniker. The guy with big english that Jarus took over from in politics section. |
Incredible!!!!!!!!!! |
Congratulations to Gbawe for winning such a keen contest. Eze Onlytruth, you are clearly the man. Please continue ignoring the provocations, even from the new winner. Kats welldone for taking one for the family(?) according to Dayo. Thumbs up Nailaranders for showing better turn-out this year. As for the mods , No comments. |
Other Ethnic groups need to follow suit. |
zebudaya:Believe whatever you want. Soon very soon, the chicks will come home to roost . Then people will forget about Obama and Cameron and republicans and democrats.Only it will be so unfortunate that none of us sounding these warnings will be able to say toldya |
cap28:Good points here but ascribing BH activities to external forces is a cop-out. BH is clearly an agenda against GEJ and an attempt by the core North to make a stake for Aso Rock come 2015 if there is still a Nigeria. I AGREE THAT BEAF'S PANACEA IS A LITTLE EXTREME AND WOULD BE A CALL FOR A COUP AND EVENTUALLY WAR BUT HE IS ENTITLED TO HIS OPINIONS. WHAT FOLKS SHOULD COME UP WITH IS THERE OWN SOLUTION IF THEY DO NOT AGREE WITH BEAF. I HAVE ALREADY SAID MINE. Northern elements severally said it that they will make Nigeria ungovernable if GEJ won the election and this they are carrying out through BH. Getting the help of Al qqaedda or Saudi Arabia or Iran is part of the agenda. If Southerners do not accept this and prepare for the coming events, but rather ascribe these to some conspiracy theory, they are clearly on an ostrich adventure and it will be too late when they eventually pull up their heads from the sand and wake up to the harsh reality. |
Thank you Eze. This actually means a lot coming from you. Onlytruth: |
Nigerian Version First they came for the Igbo, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't an Igbo. Then they came for the Northern Christians, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Northern Christian. Then they came for the Northern minorities, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Northern minority. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me. by Ezeuche Good one Brother. |
Great initiative. This is the precursor to the main thing, SNC. Gradual graduation. Watch how B follows A. The die is really cast. |
The Solution is a split along agrred and agreeable lines. I think even GEJ knows this but the C-in-C cannot pilot the break-up of his own country. It is us that need to start demanding this from all parts of the Country and this needs to be done properly and fast like USSR instead of badly like Yugoslavia. |
DID not know that this Lagarde was an IQ expert beside being an economic empress. But when she carried out the IQ test on 160 million Nigerians, she did not publish her findings. In her bid to massage SLS' ego she has gone out and insulted 160 million Nigerians. She should be arrested and prosecuted next time she steps into Nigeria. |
Funny how Nigeria works. So Ogoja and Ikom are in SE when Nigeria allocates expenditures but When Nigeria shares the money to the G Zones, the percentage for Ogoja and Ikom goes to SS. Are we going to get clarification or corrigendum or have Ikom and Ogoja been moved from Cross River in SS to Ebonyi State in SE. And where are the other two sections out of the four mentioned? Na wa for Nigerian Journalists. |
Another Earmark? Untill we see the nosemarks and eyemarks, we sidon dey look them. |
Just revisited this thread after some days to see some very disgraceful displays by our brothers. Thank you Eze Only truth for bringing sanity here. Such displays clearly show that we have a long way to go as a people. Of course there will always be disagreements but we must learn how to agree to disagree without going down to the gutter besides we must always have the Biafran catch phrases as guide: Onye aghala nwanne ya and Onye ndi-iro gbara gburugburu na eche ndu ya nche mgbe nile. Tata. |
As much as I disagree with the Bishop's slap on the woman, I really pity some folks on this thread. Too much youthful exuberance is making them bring curses upon themselves. Is it too much for you to dis agree with the Man of God without calling him names and other curses. Who are you to judge someone else's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. And he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. Romans 14.4. Let not freedom of speech make you bring curses on yourself and family. |
his son may turn out even worse and may evrn be the one to start off ww3 with its Mutually Assured |Destruction |
