aribitoye: Seems Airtel has increased their subscription fee o. There isn't the option of 50mbps for 25k nor 100mbps for 45k again. We now have the rates the old 5g router displayed. Who else notice this?
NSEstudent: Someone I know is having the problem of always restarting their device to get network back whenever it goes off. That is, there will be network but not browsing until they restart.
What is the solution to this? It's the ZLT version with black IDU.
I'm on the ZTE but the person can go to WiFi settings and disable single SSID. that's if the option is available in the ZLT IDU
bbally: I am the same position as you narrated waiting for resolution from their HQ. God bless you for this pointer as my ODU too is zte. The package that was brought to me have my number and name written on the carton but on ODU IU carries a name Joshua while mine was registered Bukola and I have different proofs to them but yet to resolve the swap.
My registered esim number is active with a bundle on my Airtel app, so I guess I will try the road side swap method. Please, how much is the sim swap and what other requirements for the process?
How do you check the registration name on the IDU website?
ANIKUDI: I faced similar issues on my ZTE ODU when I got it last week, after it was installed, it connected without internet access, the installer had to restart it for it to connect, then after that it went off again after the installer had already gone, so I called him and he told me to restart the device again, I did that all through that day but it still refused to connect on checking the ODU dashboard, I noticed the Sim number showing there is totally different from the one I registered.
So I contacted the Airtel Office, they initially said the fault was from the installer that he might have installed someone else device, until I proved otherwise by showing the device IMEI which matches what I snapped at the office after payment. So they said the error might be that the device was initially registered for someone else but didn't go through, before they used same device to register for me, so the number is clashing.
I requested for my registered line to be converted to a physical Sim, since I saw it was active and tied to my Airtel account on the app, but to my greatest surprise, they said it doesn't support physical Sim. I just laughed it off, and took pictures of the Sim slot and sent to them, but they now said it may not work. I literally had to snap the pages on their manual that indicated it works with both eSIM and physical Sim, and the use of physical overrides the eSIM functional which makes the device make use of the physical Sim directly.
I had to further prove it to them by inserting my previous Airtel 20mbps unlimited Sim in it and told them that it works. They now called me the next day to speak on a conference call with their supervisor to explain my case with him, after a few hours later, they told me to go back to the office and try to get the physical Sim, but on reaching there they said NIMC portal was down. So I opted for a roadside SIM swap of the eSIM since it was weekend and I didn't want to wait to come back on Monday.
The Sim swap was successful and I have now installed the physical Sim into the Sim slot and it is working fine now without any issues or interruptions.
If you have eSIM registered for you already, just make sure first that the eSIM number issued to you is active, then take that number to any Airtel outlet and request for a SIM swap. Most Airtel staffs are not aware of this simple solution.
How did you locate the Sim slot? Mine doesn't seem to have it. Same ZTE
Anyone0455: The network will still be connected to device But the device will be say no internet hence the no signal on the dashboard I have to keep rebooting
It's not same issue I was having but try my solution let's see if it will work. Go to wifi settings on your ODU and disable single SSID.
Peterlove11: Yes.....go to his website, and get the script and follow his directions in the video
When you did yours, did you utilize the cell mapper website in the video? Cos my own cell mapper is not showing any cell towers. I've been stuck there since.
Peterlove11: It does, the script is under the introductory text under the video. Click the link, it will take you to his website where you can download/copy the script. Follow his direction and that's it for the 4G cell lock
Peterlove11: The Airtel ZTE ODU is zte mc7510, and this is the review. You can also use his script to lock cell on the ODU. It works 100% . Since i have used his script to lock a particular lte cell on the ZTE, I have been having maximum speed through out the day. Try the different lte cells in your locality, the one that gives you maximum speed.Lock it. It will solve your Airtel speed issues. The ZTE ODU looks and feel more premium than the ZLT, but the ZLT IDU is better than the ZTE IDU
But I still prefer the ZLT ODU because it's interface is easy to navigate and you can lock more than one lte cell, and I do averagely have better wifi reception.
In all, both are good and they will give you excellent speed if you can lock a good cell in your environment
Unfaized: I'm locked to all bands. If your performance is poor, you could turn your antenna to face a different direction. My initial signal on installation was -84db which was very poor, so I mounted on my dstv dish and turned it facing another direction now I have -67db which is way better.
Mind you, this won't save you from the regular downtime you get from Airtel(Happens like once in a month or two and you could be out for upnto 1 week). Actually nothing can save you when it's your turn to suffer 😬
Unfaized: Go to device management, click on developer option and put in your password. You'll see the band locking option there. System>developer options> input password and voila.
iamlammy: Found a solution. Just change the Dns of the wifi connected to your phone/device on your phone/device wifi settings. For android, you’ll click on the wifi settings of wifi you’re connected to, change IP settings to static instead of DCHP and DNS part will appear where you can use 1.1.1.1
Tried this and my phone wouldn't browse. Can I see a screenshot of yours?
morikee: For the past 3 days wallahi i don tire for this constant no Internet access person can't browse for more than 5 to 10 min data access will vanish you have to either disconnect and reconnect or reboot this is very frustrating
Oh yeah. This was me last week. New ZTE. wanted to run mad.
Got the solution here. Log into the IDU web ui(192.168.18.1), go to wifi settings and disable single SSID.
EduTechTainMent: I don pack my own up. I hv another Nokia ODU I am using, so I hv no need for two active subscriptions. I can see that's the developer portal on the new ODU. What code did you use to gain access to the developer page. I saw it while exploring the ODU but didn't enter it cos it required a password I didn't know.
It's just the normal default 'admin' password I used.
Tover: Every1 that are having problems with Airtel network issues, should try this settings
in your internet settings, change your network band to 7... U can also check the bands one after the other to know which one is better, after that go to the settings , you will see 4g settings.. change form 4g lock to Wcdma and press okay
Pls let me know if it works for you because I have helped lot of ppl in my area with the settings and they are enjoying it
You can check the video for a better understanding
uncleseries: Use 192.168.254.1 login and then go to messages. You will receive your OTP there.
I have similar problem. Want to register my ODU on the Airtel app but in my case, they used my mtn line as my alternate number. So no OTP is coming to the MTN number nor is any coming to the airtel IP you dropped.
pheranme9: Anyone using the Android box for the unlimited kindly share your experience. Someone is complaining that it's not browsing or working for them with the Airtel unlimited
What exactly is the problem the person is facing? I use the Airtel 4G smart box with mine and it's working
fuckboys: all these are simple router settings. Go in there take a look and message around with some of the settings. You can easily reset to default if ut doesn't work. And the IDU is just a router. Have anybody tried connecting an external router to the airtel ODU?
Is there any settings you can recommend for better and improved speed?
