^ ^ ^ Finishing touches-------» “When the church becomes sordid instead of spiritual God will abandon it to destruction.” IMO, bringing this into my own life experiences, I believe that Jesus hate things I do to his temple because being God's child means I have been saved, baptist in the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit. The temple could be my body, and I could be using it to please myself, doing shameful things to it but Jesus promised a proper cleaning, the whip to get me back on track. That whip could be a devastating thing that would bring me to my knees and seek my father, come clean to him for purification. My sins would die and be forgiven, and as I rise with Jesus Christ, its with renewed power and fulfilment. Isn't that the tearing of the temple? Isn't that God's grace? Isn't he showing us just how merciful he is? Because he actually is with us during that process of cleansing, tearing, destroying and then building it for his perfection and glory? The Master still knows what is in every heart. He has no need to be told what is in mine or yours, but he sees every thought and motive every day. Our lives are naked and open to him with whom we have to do.------------------------------------------>
1 O Lord, you have searched me and known me! 2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. 3 You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. 4 Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. 5 You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. 6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.
let me leave it here before I take a different route. |
ATMC you are so funny, now m laughing and it hurts coz m on dry fasting @1a2b3c4d5e6f7g your welcome, this your moniker looks like a secret code. Top of the morning to everyone. *scratching my head* erm, John2, wow ok. This chapter took me days to dig out the truth in it, my human nature understandeth not but the spirit seeketh the truth, this is from somewhere, I added a pinch though. Can I get an amen? ![]() PRACTICAL OBSERVATIONS. 1. See how marriage is honored! God solemnized the first marriage in Eden. Christ wrought his first miracle on a marriage occasion. 2. It is to be noted that he was not an ascetic, nor did he delight in asceticism. He not only attended the joyous festivities of the marriage feast, but he even contributed to the means of enjoyment. He would still rather see us bright, joyous and thankful, than long-faced, doleful and fault finding. His ministry was to be one of joy and peace; his sanction is to be given, not to a crushing asceticism, but to genial innocence; his approval, not to compulsory celibacy, but to a sacred union. 3. The first miracle of Moses was to turn the river of a guilty nation into blood; the first of Jesus to fill the water pots of an innocent family with wine. 4. The world giveth its best and richest first. At the board it spreads the [47] viands may not fail; nay, may even grow in number and improve in quality, but they soon pall on the sated appetite, and the end of the world's feast is always worse and less enjoyable than the beginning. Who has found it so of the provisions of the Savior's grace, of those quiet, soothing, satisfying pleasures, that true faith imparts? There the appetite grows with the food it feeds upon. . . . Of each new cup from the heavenly Provider we may say: "Thou hast kept the good wine even until now." 5. "Let no table be spread to which He who graced the marriage feast of Cana could not be invited; let no pleasure be indulged in that could not live in the light of his countenance." Then thou wilt be an invited guest to the marriage supper of the Lamb of God. Rev. 19:9. |
ATMC: Hello sisters #smiley#Hello ma'am its been a while how are you? |
My weekend dose for you sisters Scripture to ponder on, Psalm 139.You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. (NIV Bible) Do you ever look in the mirror and wished you were different? Maybe you are too short, or too tall, or too thin, or too heavy. The list never seems to end. Even the super model seems to be preoccupied with the one slight imperfection that nobody else even notices. It seems that most of us, in varying degrees, are not happy with the way we were made. For some of us, it might be a physical dissatisfaction, while for others it might be that we're not smart enough, or outgoing enough, or etc. etc. etc. Our society has believed a lie that says we have to look and act a certain way in order to be accepted. Even those who make up the standards of acceptance feel unaccepted deep down in their hearts. No matter how hard we try to change our outward appearance in order to gain love and acceptance, I am afraid that it will always elude us. True love and acceptance does not come from changing ourselves to become more loveable, for according to Psalm 139, we all already loved just the way we are. In verse 14, the psalmist cries out "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." When God created us, He made us exactly the way He planned. When He designed us, before we were even in our mother's womb, He planned our size, the color of our eyes, the color of our skin, everything about us! Just as He proclaimed His creation good in Genesis 1, He proclaims that we were made perfect in His site. When we believe the Hollywood lies that we are not good enough, we are in fact, disagreeing with how God made us. Your Father in heaven does not make junk! You are fearfully and wonderfully made and God's work in your life is wonderful! You do not need to conform to somebody else's image of success, but only ask God for ears to hear His delight in your creation. The next time you look in the mirror, don't be afraid of what you see, for you were made in the image of God, and He declares that you are fearfully and wonderfully made! PRAYER Father, forgive me for not agreeing with You that I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Forgive me for believing the lies that I have to be somebody other than who I am. Help me to come into agreement with Your love for me and not despise all my imperfections. The fact that You love me and accept me is more important than the love and acceptance from anyone else. I am thankful that I am Your child, and that I am fearfully and wonderfully made! I know that full well. In the name of Your beloved Son Jesus I pray, Amen. This has made my morning, and will continue to pick this wonderful berries from the tree of life. Glorious weekend bo lovi ![]() |
⌣»̶·̵̭̌·̵✽̤̈CHAPTER9✽̤̈·̵·̵̭̌«̶⌣ The following months were ubearable for Ife, school work took the front seat, she shut Kehinde totally out of her life. They met in passing at school and always avoided long conversations with her. If she wasn't at the library she was at the orphanage she had decided to help when she wasn't busy. Her father's death didn't strip her of her brains or will to live. After the schools closed for christmas she volunteered at little angels orphanage, she wasn't ready to face her family. Her aunt had made herself clear so she had stayed in South Africa. She understood what it felt like when Malaika had to stay behind, though their situations were different, the feeling was close to home. She had blocked her family's calls and wanted nothing to do with them, their bridge was gone and he wasn't coming back. Christmas eve was worse, she had stayed in to avoid masses of people doing the last minute christmas shopping, the beautiful green and red decorations outside the shops. Every corner screamed Christmas, so she had watched television while families were engrossed with each other wrapping gifts and children baking cookies for father christmas. Kenny would have popped by only if she would let her in, but she had decided to do things her own way. The scandals of the Abayomi was not her business, nor was Kenny. The door bell rang, she rose abrutly, thinking it was the kids down the block trying to raise funds by singing door to door for small change. “I don't have money!” She hissed getting up to open the door, her mother Tumni stood at the door with Sarah. She felt a pang of emotion, tears welling inside her eyes. “Mom, is this really you?” She threw herself in the old woman's arms. Her mother had endured the nigerian civil war, had seen good days and bad days and her wrinkles were a proof of that. Sarah stood besides her mother, learning by the wall. “Yes baby, I have missed you so. Why did you shut me out like that?” Her mother dabbed tears with a silk hanker chief. “Blame it on her!” Ife glared at Sarah, making a way for the two women to enter. “Ife,” Tumni separated the two, she knew her daughter and her sister in-law. It was true that beasts do not sleep together, because Ife and Sarah battled for a spot that they both knew Tumni had occupied. “Not now my dear. Would you be a darling and give us some refreshments?” “What refreshments mother? This witch made sure I don't get my monthly allowance. So I only have water, surely you can manage that?” Her mother gave her a horrible stare, like she wasn't sure Ife was her daughter. Ife had avoided the stare and dashed to the kitchen, came back with a tray of two glasses of tap water. After they sat down she went on and watched television like they were not even there. “My sister you see what I was avoiding?” Sarah said fidgeting on the couch. “This child ought to have known her mother, this rebellion should stop.” Sarah always talked like she was God, she knew everything and was never wrong. If Ife didn't respect her mother, she would have closed the door at the old hag's face. She hated the woman with passion. “It was my fault, I hated her mother, she would have stolen my husband from me since I couldn't bore him a child.” “You did a right thing but you shouldn't have raised this invalid!” “Who is an invalid? That daughter of yours that keeps failing jamb?” “Stop this embarrassment Sarah, I raised this child as my own for 21 years and you have been trying to misplace her with your daughter. The reason your here is to solve the issue at hand not add fuel to the fire.” Tumni was now on her feet, blocking Sarah from touching Ife. “Mama, why does she hate me so much? What did my Igbo mother do to her?” Ife sniffed, trying to hide the tears. She wished her father was around, atleast he knew how to put his sister in her place. “Calm down, getting worked up will not get us somewhere.” Her mother took out a white A4 envelope out of her bag and handed it to Ife. “Your father left you that, its confidential and had been signed and sealed by him.” Ife yanked the envelop and tore it open, skimming through her father's hand writing. Sarah's neck rose like that of an ostrich ogling at what's written in the papers Ife had in hand. She raised her head painfully watching her mother steadily. “I thought nobody knew where she was?” Ife's skin was burning with anger. “Mama, what is my name?” “Ife.” “Mama, please look at me and tell me that I am Ife-Oluwa!” “Yes you are.” Tumni moved closer to try and touch her daughter who flung herself loose from her and told her not to touch her again. “Then who is Taiwo?” The two elder women sweeped the floor with their lashes. How could she have been so stupid? “And you give Kehinde away? Was I worth being raised by you? When I had lost my sister and mother? The funny thing is I know Kenny and my biological mother, I don't know what it is you wanted to archive but, I know them.” |
************* Ife opened her eyes. The sunlight bathing her skin as she lay on her side, not far away from Kenny. She tried closing her eyes. what had happened the previous night was something she didnt want to deal with that particular morning, but thoughts clawed deep into her brain, forbidding her to go back to sleep. looking around her, she felt pity for Kenny, running away from home was never a solution. She imagined how it would be like if she ran away from home. Her mother would be crying and her evil aunt would be comforting her, telling her she knew Ife was always trouble. A chip of the old block. Her father wouldn't survive it, with cancer stealing his life away from him, her running away would be the last streak. She could almost see Becky's nervous eyes staring at the wall as they filled up with tears. Ife couldn't really careless about her mother or her aunts or what they would go through, the only person she could care for after her dad was Becky, the girl was still in SS1, she looked up to her big cousin and loved her so much. “Like you would run away from home, mtcheew.” She hissed snapping back to reality. “Hey, are you talking alone?” Kenny drawled rubbing sleep away from her eyes. The bright spring sunlight cutting the room in half and dust-motes dancing in the wall of light. Kenny was glowing, she looked prettier when she had no makeup on her. She nervously pulled the duvet up over her head, like she knew Ife was watching her. “There is no use doing that ma'am, its morning already.” Malaika said cheerfully holding a tray of breakfast goodies. Ife thanked her gods, the girl was a blessing. She placed the tray on the dressing table as the girls got up to wash their faces and brush their teeth. Everything turned upside down when Ife's phone rang, they were planning on how to set up a meeting with Barbie's mother. It was a private number, she hated private numbers but the girls urged her to pick up. “Hello?” “Ife-Oluwa?” It was her aunt, the evil Sarah, the only time the woman had called her was when she was still in Nigeria, about five years ago annoucing her grandmother's death. She was like the spoke's person of her father's family affairs, always meddling and making the loudest noise. “Who died aunt Sarah? We both know you never call me unless its something tragic.” “My dear, its not like that, you know that you always give me a cold shoulder whenever I try to get closer to you.” Ife laughed, Sarah? Closer to her? The world should be coming to an end. “Did you call me for a chat? Should I login on Skype?” “Spoilt brat! Your father is dead o!” She had seen it coming, though she didn't have a solution yet she knew his life was a ticking bomb, ready to explode anytime. They had to let him rest in peace. “Anything else?” “What? That's all you can say?” Sarah asked irritated. “Do I look like God to you? Do I get to choose who lives and who dies? I knew this day would come, funny enough I have been preparing for it.” “Your a witch, you hear me? Your a witch, you and your Igbo mother conspirated against my brother and killed him! I knew my brother didn't have this Oyinbo disease, your filthy mother bewitched him. You will not get a kobo from his properties!” “Anything else dearest aunty?” Sarah had dropped the call as Ife sanked onto the bed, sobbing. The girls had excused themselves when she picked up the call and she was all alone on her bed. Her fears had finally caught up with her, her life as a professor's daughter had just ended. She knew deep down that she would never know peace in her father's house, now that he was in Abraham's bossom. Her aunt had always wanted nothing to do with a half breed. An igbo one for that matter, all she had to do was to talk to the woman who raised her, she should atleast know something about her mother. |

Eze Promoe: But my question is, Was there a hysterectomy during the abortion, be it deliberate or inadvertent?only the embryo is removed from the uterus, since the abortion was a success and there were no signs of needing a second suction or experienced haemorrhage, that big word wasn't necessary ![]() |
Eze Promoe: Without saying much, I hereby, cordially and jovially, laud your gargantuan sense of Pan-Africanism in your work, not forgetting the creativity and educative features embedded in it. I consider this, an elixir to ennui and boredom, and a lucid vive la difference to many other piece I see on Nairaland. I think the writer of this masterpiece should go beyond writing under a pseudonym on a forum, and churn out publications, which I promise you, will be a sure blockbuster.bla....this your grammer is killing me. But from what I understand, thank you so much. Fighting for a place in this society is somehow difficult so I am trying to do that through literature. |
