Rohr also said that Joel Obi is unfit and that some players were 'heavy'.. ( maybe Onazi?)
Lol...the man eye don dey clear....

better he adopt that 3-5-2 formation at the world cup.... with the right players.....
we will qualify from that group...but with any other formation/tactics we may not qualify....
and with that formation...aina should make the team ahead of elderson and awaziem too is an asset....

I don't like how we took our legs off the pedal when we were on the ascendancy in the second half. It could easily have been a draw, which would not be a bad score for a game played at the Wembley stadium.

I would be quite surprised if Joel Obi makes the cut for Russia. He was piss poor in today's game. He's not been solid in all the games plates so far.

Onazi should not be starting our games. He's too erratic. He is chiefly the main reason we lost today's game.

Rohr needs to do something about our slow start to games. It's been perpetual. We could have been 3 goals down in the first 20 minutes. Good teams will punish us if we keep this habit up
.
@bolded should we play Germany with these lapses....we may concede 4 within the first 20 mins....

Omeruo is calm when under pressure while Balogun makes hasty clearances which lands in opponents feet, but Omerou sometimes is guilty of awkward unforced errors. I think he passes the ball better when under pressure.

Simy Nwankwo in my opinion might be Nigeria's joker in Russia. Ighalo is so unpredictable. He is very unstable, panics and does not have the composure characteristic of Nigerian forwards.

Onazi and Joel Obi should not be in that team. Mikel Agu might not be a better replacement but if he can move, position, tackle neatly and pass the ball better, then Onazi should leave the national team. He simply can't move and if he lacks mobility, he should at least keep the ball and utilize it better when he gets it but none of that happened tonight.

Uzoho saved Nigeria tonight coupled with England's wastefulness. They would have scored up to 6 good goals in the first half.

Ighalo in my opinion is not very useful. Simy Nwankwo need to step in and hopefully step up. He can offer Nigeria what Loftus Cheek offered England tonight. Loftus Cheek had the physical presence that intimidated Nigeria in the match. None of the Nigerian players could match him or get the ball off him. I think Nwankwo would give Nigeria what they have been missing. He has the physique and enthusiasm of Yekini, skill and falir of Kanu and the height and strength of Victor Agali and he can move and fast as well.

Nigeria should consider this match a win. The positives to take home would be the wrong report which Croatian and other spies would take home tonight. If Nigeria can compose themselves and survive 60mins of the matches in the world cup without conceding goals, they might come good.

But Onazi and Joel Obi need to leave the camp tonight. If anyone gets injured and Rohr could not get replacements, let them play with 21 men.
bro...you're spot on.
Joel Obi and onazi really need to leave this team....even if rohr should choose take onazi instead being an assistant captain...
he should keep him on the bench all through the mundial...dude doesn't deserve play in the field for now.

Can't watch this game cuz it's raining here and DSTV Signal is out, but glad to read Ebuehi is doing great

I was able to catch part of the first half, Uzoho did really good.....Moses and Joel, I no understand. Iwobi was our best player

Hope y'all can see what Ogu brings to the team that Joel can't.... For those saying we should drop him on top pace
Babe to be honest...I eat my words on ogu.
ogu deserve to be in this team.....
I also noticed iwobi feel so comfortable play from the middle...

First you need to understand why teams play counter attacking football.

No team or coach is comfortable with that style of play but sometimes due to the strength of your team relative to that of the other team you can chose from planning stage to play counter attacking football or during the course of the game you will just see your team playing counter attacking football, and soaking up pressure upon pressure.

If Nigeria wants to play a team like Benin, Togo or Niger you think we will plan to play counter attacking football? We will go all out, even at 1-0 we will still be pushing for more goals.

Believe it or not Nigeria Vs Croatia we are the under-dogs. Except you want to practice blind patriotism. Man to man we cannot match them.Yes football is a team sport but go look at games where the smaller team beat the bigger team, the small team would always receive more of the pressure. Cameroon Vs Argentina in 1990, Senegal Vs France in 2002 etc.

Nigeria beat Bulgaria in 1994 and 1998 but we were more under heavy attacks in both games. We only scored when ww had the opportunity. Nigeria Vs Argentina 1994 same thing.

Our defense and goalkeepers have always been kept very busy(reason why I fear for our current goalkeepers).

Nobody likes being under pressure. Every team likes being in control of the game but sometimes you cannot help being on the receiving end.

And I say it again looking at the fixture Nigeria Vs Croatia I expect Croatia to be the more attacking side, whether knowingly or unknowingly. Our chance of winning that game lies in our defense being solid and our goalkeeper making life saving saves and then our forwards being able to convert our chances.
your analysis reminds me of Costa Rica truimph in the last world cup.....

Rohr and his coaching crew sneaked in players that under performed this season in the Nigerian 35 man list.

What a shame.
I think the biggest shame should be you...bro.

thank God he is not an ibo man your allegations would have been on a high level.

yusuf sanusi who is an Hausa man still the under 23 team he assembled that played athletico were not littered with his ethnic men....
so where did you harvest your fears from?

My starting lineup for England
Uzoho
Balogun Ekong Shehu (Ebuehi at 60 mins) Idowu (Aina at 60 mins with a last chance to impress)
Onazi (Ndidi at 80 mins) Etebo Mikel
Iwobi V.Moses (Iheanacho at 60 mins) Ighalo (Simy at 60 mins)
that midfield is very ripe....I like it.

Our site called top defender, Omeruo how many games did he play for Chelsea.
God bless you bro....
for a player to come all the way from academy had some few minutes in Chelsea main team play prior his loan move...captained England under 19 and played in the under 17,16 team...
is not a fluke.... the lad still has a promising future compare to elderson.

I am so ashamed of some folks here...crying nepotism.....
so rohr is now an ibo man or even a Yoruba...or Hausa...
so true that common sense is never common.
if one of the three major ethnic groups could cry of being marginalized in the super eagles how about..... other minority ethnic groups like the edos, benue indigenes and lots more in the super eagles...?
the last time I checked there is no edo man or even enang man in the nff or in the coaching crew....so how do players like Ighalo, ebuehi and troost keep getting call ups....
?

the truth is you cannot hide competence.... rohr is not blind If you're good...you're good.. no tribal sentiments can hide your shine....

only a tribal personified person will cry of nepotism in the current super eagles set up....
it is so annoying that some elders here...are buying this tribalism stew served by oga forgiveness.
he should be ignored...please.

oga your analysis is wrong, siting on the bench don't have age restriction, in 1998 ben iroha who was 11 years older was on the bench for baba yaro. if you are not good enough the bench won't help you get better.
how good is this elderson you are guys parading to be better than aina...
is it the one I know....or there is another elderson in the super eagles I don't know of.
a player so good and better than aina...but the best he gets in Europe was a division 2 club in belguim...where he still sits on the bench....

Aina is better than elderson....take that from me.....

you guys clamouring for elderson are doing so...because of experience...that have been useless to even the player....

Lokosa don't have a place in that 23 man list.. let's not deceive ourselves. A midfielder can be dropped. We have a couple forwards who are also midfielders. Simy brings something different we need in the team.
I think Rohr is just too desperate to reward these players who qualified Nigeria for the world cup...

any player who is not fit should be dropped....

Aina is not a LB. He's a RB.

Though I don't trust him for the job now but I think his talent is very obvious.

He plays with more confidence and his passing skill is really good.

With time, he can improve and be like Taye Taiwo who also attack minded but me go go with Echiejile for WC.
what's the essence of having a 30 years old elderson sitting on the Bench...for a 25 years old idowu...only to get play few minutes that if occasion demands....
but have a 21 years old aina go to the world cup.....sit on the Bench draw some wealth of experience and come back stronger few years time......

interceptions and tackles...?

please spare us those heavy stories..... I doubt if any of them would have done better in that exhibition match with athletico.
