OMANBALA1: Whenever Moses is with the ball he makes the right run, throw the right leg but he will never put you through with a simple pass. I am re-watching the match again in very little details and you can see why our attack never click when Moses is there...At around 12th minutes there was a simple pass he could have dropped for Iwobi to finish up but he attempted to dribble his grandfathers once more and lost the ball and he Iwobi was so mad and frustrated. sometimes I think rohr is scared to talk to this guys...or the coach simply don't have eyes....like we have here. reason why some of us here were clamouring for kalu not necessarily because he is same level with Moses...but someone who plays for the team will always help you win games..... |

Mujtahida: The consistency you ask from the coach and the players, you too should try do same. You ain't consistent. You are only consistent in being inconsistent. You go from extreme praise to extreme condemnation. Is it the emotions? bro....when you expect a coach to do the right thing...and he keeps making same mistakes over and over again... you self know...that you can't be doing same thing over and over again...in same pattern and expect a different result. a coach shouldn't be scared to drop any player not living up to expectation.... ebuehi by now should be the undisputed RB. still have reservations on why aina was dropped because he obviously cross better those 2 LB we currently have and as well link up with the attack well.... and why keep up with Ighalo....who last scored for Nigeria since...the Cameroon match in Uyo. |

Mujtahida: Kaiii this guy. I fear you. So if the team does well tomorrow, what would you say? Rohr is king abi(cos you have echoed such sentiments before when the going was good). See the defeat doesn't say anything much to me but I've learnt a whole lot about the consistency of many posters here. Tomorrow if I read them singing praises I'd know best to take it with a pinch of salt. the coach sticking with players we all know were not supposed to be in the starting 11 annoys me..... why bench ebuehi for shehu and start Ighalo instead....? this are glaring happenings we all know any reasonable coach should correct.... it is becoming obvious that the best formation we need adopt is the 3-5-2 formation abit we go with the other...iwobi shouldn't be deployed to the CM role.... or wing role...but the AM role or a free role to roam and team up with the striker when need be...mikel can be allowed play the CM should need be.... rohr players selection is killing this team... sentiments attached to the old players is not helping matters..... just because some players played the qualifiers does not mean they can't be dropped if they don't measure up.... you saw hw abysmal elderson was today.... I attach so much emotion to football especially when watching the super eagles play.....and errors of this kind is more baffling |

AIG07: Those calling for Rohr's head seems to have forgotten where we were coming from. From a poor team which couldn't qualify for 2 consecutive AFCON.
This man decide to pick the job despite so much hullabaloo then. He came on board and the unexpected happen we were handed the toughest group in worldcup qualification history.
No one gave him a chance not even his employers. But he turned the fortune of the team around and we qualified in style without loosing and with a game to spare.
This same man has only lost 1 single competitive game out of 7. Yet still we want him to be sacked. Can we please cut him some slack?
He might not be having it easy and we rosy but the employers and players are not complaining. The players have not even showed any sign of unhappiness with the result. Maybe there is more to these preparation than we can see.
Me, I still believe in this team, I still trust the boys to deliver when it MATTERS and I'm not going to allow some insignificant matches to change my mind.
#SOAR EAGLES and so what...because he qualified us means we should stick to clueless abi? though zidane won 3 champions league in a row...he would have been sacked still if now fails to deliver... consistency is the key....mere looking at rohr shows he needs help...the old man has lost it..... and sanusi and co...still haven't gotten over the euphoria of the world biggest football tourney few days time.... |

Guess our Eyes are clear now....... that Iwobi is a monumental Waste on the Wing?! Our problem is very simple to solve;
A - Play 3 - 4 - 1 - 2 Formation.
B - start Ebuehi as a RWB not Shehu
C - Play Moses as LWB, I've seen him played there at Chelsea more than once.
D - play a Pivot of Ndidi and Mikel as DMs - Ndidi doing the Tackles and Interceptions while Mikel plays as a deep-lying Playmaker.
E - Play Iwobi as a No. 10.
F - Pair Ighalo and Iheanacho upfront - Ighalo will play more inside the Box, while Iheanacho plays as SS, combining with Iwobi to dig out positive Results. to be honest with you... rohr don't think this way...the old man is still confused... |

safarigirl: this line no get weight.
I remember saying Rohr should start Aina against England, because he will die on the pitch against England. People always do extra when they play against an opposition that is 'personal'.....ask Adebayor against Arsenal. it has to do with mental edge.... same could have been said of mikel...at least to prove the English press wrong in their opinion of him...also the likes of troost ekong at least to showcase his abilities and prove doubters wrong and lots more.... you just can't give what you don't have....it shows iwobi has that attitude...it is a positive one...a very agile and imposing player... someone that can't be intimidated. |

Left for me I would drop that vicmo boy emphasis should be placed on the kind ot striker to play upfront...not Ighalo kind of striker....but someone like nancho who can link up well with the lad...with good positional sense and good finishing..... nancho and simmy should be tried against Czech...we have had enough of Ighalo..... |

MetalJigsaw: Lots of people have gone so negative about the probability of our dear SEs performance in Russia. Should one blame them? No!
But I one thing I know for sure is if this team fails to win a game in the mundial Rohr should be sacked ASAP.
Believe it or not, this team possesses enough personnel to achieve a second round place in the WC despite the 'toughness' of the group, or even surpass it. But over- conservation on the current managers part is pulling things backward for the team. And this should be a certain fact if both flops in the last game get to start against Czech Republic.
Surely, Gernot Rohr seemingly lacks pragmatic thinking.
I repeat, if any of the fat guy or the clueless Torino man start next game, then we only have a half-execrable coach in charge. spot on bro...add the attack to it... that man from China should not man our attack...... |

Icon4s: Oga, calm down.
There is no cause for alarm.
Were you expecting us to beat England at Wembley?
You think we are on the same level as Brazil, Spain or Germany? Cos it is only such countries that can get a result against England at Wembley. Brazil even played a draw there. So relax.
That England game was as tough as it can get.
Playing Croatia in Russia cannot be as difficult as playing England at Wembley. Take that from me.
And let me encourage you not to lose hope in these guys. I have seen so many Nigerian teams at the WC and I have seen so many of Nigeria's preparatory games for the WC. I know what I am talking about.
A lot of people here know me as very conservative with my expectations on our players. So when I say "I have hope on these guys" I must have seen enough to have hopes on them. oga icon..... from what you wrote I see wisdom and reason to keep up with this team.... I sincerely believe how far we will go in the world cup largely depends on rohr first 11 selection during the world cup matches.... you saw yesterday that players like onazi shouldn't be starting super eagles matches...but all because of sentiments he will still get to start ahead of better technical players..... |

I thought we are all supporting this team irrespective of the flaws. We are two weeks into the tournament but you've started saying something like this. What if we excel at the world cup? You will retract your statement or what?
We should be cautious of what we say, we are always too quick to pass judgement.

He didn't struggle enough for the RB position and messed up in the LB position
Why do you think Fabian Delph is in the world cup because he performed in an unfavorable position and was noticed to play in his preferred position. we all know elderson is heading to the world cup because of the role he played during the world cup qualifiers and a very useless experience they claim he has....not necessarily because he is a better player compare to aina. |

ChrisKels: I dont care how you lot see this but Rohr's over conservatism and rigidness might cost us a fortune at the long run.
No matter how u guys paint it, he goofed with the judgement of Aina's position in the team. Why not give the boy as much chances in the RB which is his main position, he instead preferred a make shift in Shehu.
Aina should have been giving as much opportunity to see if he could replicate his Hull showings on the RB position, he should have been the one fighting it out with Ebuehi while Shehu fights for his place in the midfield with Agu, Agbo, Onazi and Joel.
If Ebuehi and Shehu had played on the left side, would they have done better than Aina did? If Rohr was honest with his judgement and wants to accommodate Shehu, the either of Onazi and Joel would have joined Agu so that Shehu shifts to the middle while Aina slogs it out with Ebuehi.
As bad as Joel and Onazi are they are headed for Russia ahead of Aina, Agbo, Azu and Esiti yet someone wanna make me believe Rohr is an honest man? Smh
I'm not pro innit boys but Aina was treated unfairly Bro....I have reduced my expectation on this team..... let it know.....that the coaches poor judgement cost us should we fail @ the mundial..... the kind of coach rohr is....is a kind of manager that will see club all through from championship to the epl and refuse to get in New players into his squad all because of loyalty...he will stick to the old boys who brought the club out from relegation...even when some of them have lost it...and that will eventually cost him his job..... I just feel for him...probably these was abit reasons why he has never been too successful as a manager....and even the Nigeria coaches working with him have little reasonable input. |

KK555: I will support Nigeria henceforth.
Simi Nwankwo will be Nigeria's joker in the world cup. I believe he will do well for the team. Onazi killed Nigeria yesterday. I have watched that match again. Shehu was not very composed, i think he should start again for Nigeria. Nigeria should keep possession like they have always done during the African qualifying. Keep the passes short if possible, most of the long passes were intercepted. Onazi is strong but very poor concentration in yesterday's match cost Nigeria a lot. He was not moving or positioning himself well. His awkward and pass pass resulted in the free kick which Uzoho parried to corner, the resultant corner kick was badly defended by Ekong and Mikel gifting Cahill the liberty to nod home.
I pray Ndidi recovers soon enough. Overall it was not a bad game for Nigeria. It would have been very disastrous in the first half. Etebo did well linking up the midfield with his tackles, runs and short beautiful passes. They need to work on their shooting as well. Coordination, cohesion, communication especially in the midfield are vital. They were lacking in the first half.
I think Nigeria will surprise the world. thanks bro.... I really liked your analysis. our only prayer is for rohr to have his first 11 selection right..... with no sentiments attached. |
