Oasis007:

You are comfortable with Mikel as an AM instead of Iwobi?! Shehu and Ighalo also to start the Match, though I guess in your favored 3 - 5 - 2 Formation?
Where are you gonna play Moses? Iwobi....??! mikel in the AM role...depends...I can as well sub him for etebo if there be need for more fluidity in the midfield.....and introduce ogu to take etebo place in the CM role... Ighalo will be removed for nancho who spear head the attack with nancho.... Moses play the wing back role...on the left and ebuehi play the wing back role from the right....... achieving results with the super eagles calls for flexibility |

I do not aim to taunt you, but you suggested the Duo of Ndidi and Etebo to form a defensive midfield Pivot and Mikel as an AM against the Croats - yet you keep blaming Rohr for the Loss.
If you are in charge, what would you have done Difference if I may ask pls?! Tweaking the Formation or changing the Personnel?! I will tweak the formation....later from 60 mins should there be no goals.... I will use simmy or nancho instead of Ighalo.... |

mowah: I said it earlier, but guys didn't believe, gernot rohr is overrated, there was a reason average African teams like Gabon, Burkina Fasa and Niger Sacked him quite early while our own late Steven Keshi took Togo to the world cup and improved the Malian team. Rohr needs to change his tactics against Iceland (I won't be surprised if he doesn't) 3-5-2 should have been used against Croatia but we can still try it against Iceland only if our wingbacks are more attacking because we will need a "force de frappe" of attack to crack them, With what I saw on Friday, I think victor moses can play lwb for us (dude has the ginger to play well in this wc) then tyronne should take the right. But let's think of it? We can actually drop Mikel, I hope gernot is bold enough to, (the only game we've won this year, Mikel was absent against Poland while we've lost every game he has played In this year) y'all need to remove that mentality that we can't play well without Mikel, etebo would do well and even ogu sef(I just like this guy cos him no dey do pass himself and does a great job too) my line up against Iceland would be 3-5-2 Uzoho; omeruo, balogun, ekong; moses ndidi etebo iwobi ebuehi; iheanacho, ighalo. Iwobi plays behind the 2 strikers while etebo and ndidi take up the dmf. This should work against Iceland as long as they play like beast with all their hearts, who knows we might even trash them, the only disadvantage of this formation is that it is too dependent on the wingbacks so if they Bleep up, we are dead. I still believe in this boys, hope they make us proud again #Naijaalltheway please replace Ighalo with simmy.... |

forgiveness: My friend, if you are becoulded by emotions to remite judgement, I have gone beyond that.
I don't care about what Ighalo played years ago, I am talking about what I saw yesterday which is fact.
You all shouting Ighalo didn't play well. Ok who will play well in that situation?
Na Iheanacho abi na Simy? Well, maybe simy can do well alone yesterday but I don't think Iheanacho will do nada yesterday. Fact.
Read my lips and na finger again. Iheanacho will do nada if isolated like Ighalo yesterday.
Simy will do little too because he still needs support but Mikel didn't do anything to support or add pressure.
You people should cool down and read match with common sense before you start shouting this player no good.
The ball Ighalo took a weak shot was as a result of no Nigerian player in the box to receive a pass.
Anyway, make Rohr commot Ighalo put the player that rocks your boat so we go get peace for this place. Haba! abeg try rest...because you need am. please better stick to scouting...players... because your analysis of the game is watery |

Ndonu101: Gernot Rohr is not very clever
The set pieces were not exclusive events, the corner kicks came about because we did not control the game. May be in a 3-5-2 formation those corner will not have happened at the time they happened
Omeruo played in Middlesbrough and has experience of defending long balls. He is also a World Cup veteran but somehow not good enough to start. Please we need Omeruo in a 3 man back line
Ahmed Musa is a key player for us. We need his pace for 90 minutes, not 20 minutes. Another World Cup veteran sitting on the bench. He scored 2 against almighty Argentina at the last World Cup
Lack of wing play killed us. Iwobi is not a winger
We need Ebuehi, Musa, Moses in the pitch to give us some pace you see the wisdom you put up there....rohr don't have it...the old man is bald. |

Immediately the groupings was done Rohr began to sing a song titled 'we are the underdogs' and the same players who coasted to victory after victory during the WCQ have not been the same again. I still think rohr really wanna sabotage the interest of Nigeria ... no longer trust him at all..... if we the fans could notice alot from the friendlies and even okocha yesterday talked on his expectation for rohr to have change tactics and draft iwobi to the midfield.... but instead choosed to play a traitor. ... It seems the old coach still havent learn from his mistakes...always looking for an excuse to give for his incompetence
Rohr Explains Why He Didn't Employ 3-5-2 Formation Vs Croatia
Nigeria manager Gernot Rohr has explained why he played four at the back for the entirety of the Super Eagles 2-0 loss to Croatia, discarding the 3-5-2 formation that worked well for him, especially in the second half, during the pre-World Cup friendlies.
The former Bayern Munich defender has pointed out that the loss to the Balkans was not as a result of the formation but due to the inability of the team to defend set-pieces.
''I think the organization was okay, we didn't concede the goal in normal play, we conceded the two goals from set-pieces and it is not a question of tactics or system,'' Rohr said at the post-match press conference. ''Our system was okay, we cannot play with three (defenders) when there is only one center forward, so we played with four because they were three strikers and the Croatian strikers are very strong and I was satisfied about the organization of the team. ''What we are missing today is to be more professional with set-pieces to avoid the two goals coming from these situations. ''Each game is different, we know we can play with three center-backs but it was not a good day to do that today.'' Rohr added that the young players in the team, thought to be Oghenekaro Etebo and William Troost-Ekong, made mistakes which led to the two goals conceded by the Super Eagles.
''We are disappointed, when you lose a match it is not a good thing for us but we must recognize Croatia had the better team tonight. ''My young players made some mistakes especially from the corners we worked so much. The first goal came from a corner, the second one also from a corner, a penalty.
''There were also so many fouls in the other box that could have been a penalty for us. but we have to accept this defeat and now we have to win against Iceland. ''All is possible still because we have only one point to win to win against the two other teams. If we win the next game, all is possible for the qualification.''

sontoly: I totally support you sir, and I dont know why the coach doesnt see it, the truth is Ighalo has more supporters than Iheanacho thats why no one sees his flaws.
Ighalo position skill is so poor, not good in air poor decision making, give him ten chance he wont score one, infact you wont even find he to give a chance sef. He is always with a defender and doesnt lose his marker, slow to react and we call that one a striker, we are deceiving ourself, it will take a miracle for him to score most of his shots are week. Abeg i don tire to see am for pitch, person wey get 5 goals since he started playing for us. The only lethal striker is iheanacho unfortunately the coach no like am just same way he prefers shehu to ebuehi. I dont have anyhope in rohr at all.

ChrisKels: From someone who once wore the shoe and knows where it pinches, Okocha ;
“It was a decent first half but maturity was the edge the Croatian team had over the Nigerian team,” Okocha said on SuperSport, where he was a guest analyst, after the game.
“The Super Eagles got done by the movements of the Croatian team in their box. The Super Eagles midfielders were not doing their best both in defending and in attack.
“Eagles didn’t get the best out of Alex Iwobi and Victor Moses because the manager was trying to accommodate Mikel Obi in the team.
“The manager didn’t earn his money today. We were not a threat in the first half and I was expecting him to play three at the back, five players in the midfield and two strikers to the team a chance to get back into the game.
“It is sad because I know we can do better than this. Of course there is still hope but we have to do it the hard way now.
“These (Croatians) are world class players who know how to win by exploiting little details.” Okocha also blamed Rohr for deploying Mikel in the creative role.
“We didn’t have a creative player today,” the former Nigeria No.10 added. “Mikel has been a good servant to the national team. His best position is playing in front of the defence. We saw what he did playing for Chelsea where he had a glorious career.
“The most creative player in that team is Alex Iwobi but he was played on the flanks. He (Iwobi) can play on the flanks at Arsenal because they had better players in that role like Mesut Ozil.
“The reason why we lost was because we played our best players out of their positions.
“Playing Mikel in that position didn’t help Moses and Iwobi on the flanks.” when I said rohr was not a smart coach...some peeps came for my head.... he deserve coach the likes of Madagascar because that's the best he deserves...so annoying his cluelessness gonna cost us good outing in this world cup |
