Any player with injury should not make it irrespective of his stand in the team.

Mikel and Echiejile failed to make it in 2010 and 2014 cos of injury.

I remember how injured Daniel Amokachie and Emma Amuneke were forced to appeared in France 98 and Atlanta 96 respective.

Even Ndidi injury situation should be managed very well cos am seeing us rushing the young man and better to avoid a scenario of Ebuehi aggravated groin injury.
you're very right...no injured players should be managed

Chairman let's wait and see cos gatecrashers always failed us.

This is the reason am not happy about Ideye,Kayode and Oyekwuru clubs situation and injury cos they are better than Lokosa and Simy.
I will.agree with lokosa but simmy form of late in Italy and considering the fact that rohr rates the Italian league high.... you know rohr was once a defender..... many good defenders and strikers know what obtained in serie A. rutheles and good defenders but still simmy manage score good goals in those late matches...

simmy is not a bad addition at all..
he deserve to be there.....

He was doing light exercises. I think the injury is not serious.
you know rohr can't take over 2 unfit players to the world cup....
how he recuperate fast will tell if he will make the list....

why rohr can manage ndidi and ekong because of their usefulness to the team...
same can't easily be said of moses Simon...he is not even a starter. so gonna be an easy decision for rohr to make.

It looks like a minor injury. The scan is just to make sure.

If Simy Nwankwo will not be eligible to play against DRC, then he must be the reason Rohr wants to drop only 5 players first before dropping 2 after the game against England.

He may have impressed in training and Rohr wants an opportunity to see him I'm a game, DRC won't give him that opportunity since Simy may be ineligibke , so, he will use the game against England to gauge him.
and should him get to score a brace against the 3 lions it means the dude is the most lucky super eagles player to make the list...

I will be so happy for him...
hey. ....what if lokosa do excellently well against DR Congo?

Forgiveness has his beliefs that the NFF is controlled by a section of the country, and that is a big factor in player selection and even coach appointments.. If I'm wrong, he can correct me.
but the president is from south south, first vice president from the southwest and the second vice president from the north...
where does he gets his unfounded fears...from me?

So far Rohr is doing a good job but WC performance should do the talking about his retainment not even necessary to reach quarter final but let us see good Super eagles that would give us great future.

I remember 2003 U17 team, they are KO at quarter final stage but we all saw a promising team that was better than 2001 U17 finalist.
you're right
but only the rational minds will think in this light.....many will want him sacked..should we fail progress from the group.

Hahahaha hahahaha. You know yourself na. Truth is we have good supply of talents. If we have consistency in footballing philosophy we will harness what we have and become a great team but sack and replacement of coaches will not help us.

If these current team fails to go past the first round do you think it's good enough justification for Rohr to be sacked?

Anyway NFF gave him contract extension.
the man should be retained.
he is a good coach...the kind of coach we have been longing for... though he may not be too tactical but very discplined and a good man manager.

Which one be all this arguement now ? The truth is that everyone on this thread is a tribalist. To be human is to be a tribalist. Now being a tribalist and domineering is the problem. Some people here love Kelechi Iheanacho and Eastern sounding name Super Eagles players die, Forgiveness did not call them tribalist oooo. Imagine people asking for Onyekuru who had a season ending injury to be invited to play in the world cup ? Or Kelechi Nwakali who in my opinion is a super talent but had never being invited by Rohr even for meaningless friendlies to be invited to go to Russia against all their previous arguement that ;

1) Coach knows best.

2) Players should be selected based on pedigree of competition they face in their clubs (League rating and division)

3) Team cohesion and chemistry (Rohr's is sticking with the team that qualified us)

4) Already entrenched players to play that position in the team.

Forgiveness's initial issue was the waste space given to Lokossa, asking why Kayode was not given that space, which in all honesty makes sense or would you say Lokossa is a better gamble than Kayode ?

A lot of folks during this forgiveness and tribalist arguement have contradicted themselves. We are Nigerians, we have our blindspots and we also have our angle of viewing issues.
if you have nothing reasonable to say sometimes....better you stay quiet and keep reading comments....
what's up with the defensive words you put up there to at least defend the rigours of tribalism at sway on this thread...?

I advocate for all players I think has something good to bring to the table...probably they may be more from the eastern region...I don't care...

I am from edo state...bini by tribe...I have never lived in the east neither have I been there.... only lived in southwest and also currently living in the north....

so how many of my tribes men have you seen me fight for their inclusion in the super eagles even start crying of them being marginalized as a particular moniker her... sayn a particular tribe is trying to be omitted from coaching the country's football team....it's like you are new here...

some of the players I berate most here are from my state: Victor Moses, jude Ighalo, elderson and even osaze I forbid from returning to the super eagles, I think someone even accuse me here that it's like I should better say I don't like osaze.....

please think prior your post...
had it been forgiveness advocacy was not embroiled in tribal recourse..... I guess folks won't troop in to always accuse him... this is not the first time an outsider claim to be in readers mode.... coming in to accuse him of tribalism.
you need put on your thinking cap and ask yourself why haven't any accuse any other moniker here....save for him.
it goes show that there is something fishy behind his post....

common sense truely is like a flower that does not grow in every man's garden
there many other Yoruba brothers here but none have been accused....
I was surprised to read elyte, sir Joseph and even edi to be Yorubas but you will never know because their basic reason is to promote the super eagles and not their ethnic group.....

How Super Eagles Team A, B & C Lined Up In Training; Aina & Idowu Score Beauties

Four players Wilfred Ndidi, Moses Simon, Odion Ighalo and William Troost-Ekong did not take part in Friday's practice match during the Super Eagles workout at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium as a result of fitness concerns and fatigue.
After the usual stretching and jogging exercises, Rohr split the squad into three groups for games on a reduced sized pitch.
Team A had goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, John Obi Mikel, Joel Obi, Brian Idowu, Abdullahi Shehu, Chidozie Awaziem, Kenneth Omeruo and Oghenekaro Etebo.
The outfielders for Team B were Kelechi Iheanacho, Junior Lokosa, Ahmed Musa, Ola Aina, Stephen Eze, Tyronne Ebuehi and Uche Ugbo with Ikechukwu Ezenwa in goal.
Goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, John Ogu, Leon Balogun, Elderson Echiejile, Simeon Tochukwu Nwankwo, Mikel Agu, Alex Iwobi and Eddy Onazi played for Team C.
The goalkeepers were largely moved around teams as the matches progressed and Plateau United's Dele Ajiboye later subbed in for Ezenwa.

The first match was between Team A and B with Team A winning 4-1 and Idowu scoring two goals in almost a similar fashion to his goal on his debut against Argentina. The goals were fierce left-footed shots.

Next up was Team B against Team C, a game won by Team C but the highlight was Chelsea defender Aina scoring with a powerful shot.
Team A and Team C met in the final practice match.

Back to the game. I hope the news of Kelechi Nwakali training with the Super Eagles team in Russia is true. It will be a big plus to the NFF, Rohr and the coaching crew. Shows we are now taking possession of helping our special talents develop. Wish Kelechi Nwakali the best.
I am so excited with that news....even though he does not get to make the world cup list ....training with the super eagles team is a plus.

What edi287 said is the truth. It's not about whether forgiveness is used to it. The question is, is it right, this unceasing accusations?

He's come out to say his children's language is eastern, his wife is Niger deltan.

And yes Humility017 called even pleaded for Nwakali's inclusion (of course out of a clean mind) but the point edi287 is making is that if forgiveness were to do that he'd be called a tribalist and it's easy for non regulars to settle into the mental frame some of us have created here to accuse forgiveness of tribalism and this must stop.

I couldn't bear komekn's views. I stopped reading them.

This accusations must end. It does the thread no good.

And you saying edi287 didn't come to your defence is to me a bit disingenuous cos the context in which the incident you are referring to played out is quite different from this diffused accusation going on here. Even at that many people, not one, not two defended you.
it's okay. I think I need drop This nwakali cry...too.
moreover I am not in way related to the dude by blood or tribe....
just want the good of our super eagles.....

to be true... rarely will one not likened sir forgiveness words here from a tribal angle...
I later come see him as a very controversial person.... though kind of interesting too .

so let us rest...

Not yet Bro. You sef you know. Haba. We are taking a team that's young and Ogu that is among the stalwarts is the one person you want taken out. Habaaa.

Consensus is that the guy is good and I believe he is the natural heir to Mikel but his time will come.

I even personally love his goal against Atleti more than that of Usman but to include him in our WC team is not just over the top, it's way over the top.
i am concerned with his passing skills.... which ogu and co currently lack...
him going to the world cup does not mean he will command a full debut....at least he can replace mikel sometimes in the second half...

that guy makes it look as if...mikel is in the field playing.... that the kind of player we need come in for mikel... in Russia.
I personally I am not too pleased with the presence of many DM and Cm in the team...moreover taking him to Russia will help in his development and the super eagles in the long run... it will make a big statement to arsenal and wherever he goes on loan that he is an AM and the drive tp convert him to a CM,DM,Winger etc will be curtailed...had it been keshi did same towards nancho...city won't have easily convert him to a striker....

we are currently short of AM in the super eagles....so why don't we build an encourage him to grow into that role...for now and the future sake.
