MetalJigsaw: great news!... I hope they don't end up on the benches.
bro forget it...success left an inalienable Mark the last time he played in the Spanish league.... he has a good reputation and so much is expected from him in that league.... so...him sitting on the bench not going to be possible......I don't know for ideye though...
but for success this move just intch him close to Russia....
TheSuperNerd: Thanks for this report man... I was praying for thus to pull through... OGN was right! See pic below...
to be honest wit you...wit the love rohr have for this boy...coupled wit his understanding of Spanish football....dude may likely make the Russia trip...
the fight for a place in the world cup team getting more interesting.....the attack we all have been worried about, may likely become the juicy part of the super eagles team...a blessin in disguise I call it.
lexyman: player like Uzoenyi right . lol . i ve been following the CHAN tourney ...
uzoenyi even smelled the world cup.... and played better than the way okputu is playing now...wit a football age of 22 years old...I would have expect by now...the dude becomes our midfield meastro.... only to go flop in south Africa league...despite his huge wage.
please relax your mind on this home based super eagles....one just pray they get good club sides to sign them after the tourney... that will help some resharpen and brush up their skills..
lexyman: yes he is brother , as long as hes wearing the super eagles jersey . is that the new card you want to play
nayyy no new card...at all. just surprise at your shaky predictions... it seems you've not been watching CHAN tourney all this while..
we have had...players who came in time past played better...even won the tournament MVP only to end up in a south Africa and northern Africa league....
with the way okputu is misfiring in all cylinders I fear him not to end up in a north Africa league...
that should be your prayer...not him making the world cup or battling for the future super eagles CF.......
to be honest dude will play better as a 10....I watched some of his link up play during the wafu cup tourney...his passes were accurate and precise....and he has a good ball control.
lexyman: i am not saying he is in the same category with those you mentioned , what i have only pointed out are just his attributes , if you have not been paying attention to it , you have an opportunity in tomorrow's match and if he undergoes some special grooming he may become the kind of player we will need in he future . nearest future is the world , and mind you its just a prediction ....
repogirl: Dude..... Don't flatter yourself.... ... If a Chick doesn't like you, ignoring her is giving her exactly what she needs to be rid of your attention.
Subliminal ko, submarine Ni.
it works fr me like magic.... either the it helps draw the leader closer or help me let go of her in my heart...
I am a guy that can't love two ladies at the same time...so ignoring one who is not giving me attention help me get another...
TheSuperNerd: True talk Sir Royalty.... He thought his good results was enough vindication for him. You know, some of us are guilty of that mindset. The fact that you may be doing well to some extent at something does not automatically make you right in all spheres. One must stay humble to work on his character because it is indeed Character and Attitude that separates The Good from The Great.
He is brilliant tactical mind but his man management skills need serious work. I hope he can be better in the end. He is still so young in the coaching business.
so pathetic to see how he ruined his chance of becoming a reputable coach in the Dutch league....
MetalJigsaw: 5 Outstanding Home Eagles So Far At CHAN 2018
With the Home-based Super Eagles set to face Sudan in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) on Wednesday, Completesportsnigeria.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU picks Nigeria’s top five players so far at the tournament…
IKECHUKWU EZENWA
The captain of the team was at his best in Nigeria’s 2-1 quarter-final victory over the Palancas Negras of Angola on Sunday. The Eagles should probably have been home now and not thinking of a date with Sudan in the last four if not for his bravery and heroics in goal. Ezenwa has led by example in the competition even though he was largely tested prior to the Angolan game but he has been a good leader on and off the pitch.
STEPHEN EZE
The tall defender was axed in a couple of test games ahead of the African Nations Championship and that seems to have motivated him as he has worked very hard to become a mainstay in the team’s defence. Eze, who will link up with Bulgarian club Locomotiv Plovdiv at the end of the competition won the man of the match in the game against Rwanda.
DAYO OJO
Dayo Ojo was dropped from the squad to the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda, but he has proved his worth with an impressive showing in Morocco. The Sunshine Stars midfielder scored a screamer in Nigeria’s last group game against Equatorial Guinea and was duly named the man of the match. He also did well in the quater-final clash against Angola, and he was one of Nigeria’s best performers in the game.
KALU ORJI
One of the four players in the team that were part of the squad to the 2016 African Nations Championship in Rwanda. He has formed a formidable partnership with Stephen Eze at the heart of the team’s defence and was sorely missed after going off injured in Nigeria’s quarter-final game against Angola.
OSAS OKORO
The right-back has done his job well in the competition. Originally a right winger, the Enugu Rangers player is a willing runner who always supports the attack and performs his defensive tasks.
TheSuperNerd: I think it is just him talking up the positives in Okpotu as a player and especially as one who has scored two vital goals in the CHAN so far.
He is right to show us that Okpotu is not as bad some of us may think... I personally don't think he is soooo poor ... But I think he is not just Main Super Eagles Quality... At least not yet...
I understand Sir BascoVanVeli's stand... He is not easily carried away in his love for our local league players.
okputu is not a bad player...I like him just his finishing prowess I don't fancy... I got to like him during the wafu cup tourney....
TheSuperNerd: I am sure Marvellous Sir BascoVanVeli stands up for our local boys no matter what. I also commend their spirit and determination shown so far. They have exceeded expectations against the odds despite the many flaws in the team.
I know Sir Basco will be happy to see Okpotu get a look in even if just once but I also know that He is not carried away to suggest that Okpotu be picked ahead of a Musa or a Kayode for the World cup coz there is just no way we are dragging Ighalo and Nacho into the discussion of Okpotu's chances even. Nacho's and Ighalo's spots are no go areas ahead of Russia 2018 barring injuries.
Sir BascoVanVeli may be the undisputed champion of the local boys but he is not blind to the fact that Okpotu cannot displace Nacho, Ighalo, Kayode, Nwakaeme, and co.... Right now.
I believe I am right to think this.
I just hope your latter paragraph...prove to be true... the way he was trying to make case for okputu leave me baffled
Lollllz I was so surprised to see him make case for okpotu trying to cunny him into the world cup list.... even okputu himself knows he is heading nowhere to Russia...it will be nightmare if it happens...he will so scared if ask to enter the plane heading for Russia...
Icon4s: In the national team there is usually not enough time to drill players like you would have at club levels.
A player can only give what he has.
I understand you...but i think wit only two session practise on shooting drills will tell a lot on their play... all they need no is to put their shoots on the ground and not on the air...
that alone will help in their subsequent matches.... many a time this coaches are clueless on what to bring out in this players not really because the players are that bad... they have been no player that have never been worked on by their coaches...
I blame yusuf a little but more blame should go to the club coaches....
Icon4s: Se na now him go teach Okpotu how to control simple pass and beat his man on one-on-one situation ni?
Na una wey dey kuku expect heaven and Earth from these boys. I don talk my own since teytey.
to be honest wit you sir... I think yusuf has not really done enough.... good shooting drills and practise will help okputu, Gabriel and old man rabiu alot...
BascoVanVeli: How many did Morata miss against Arsenal? How many did Harry Kane score at the last Euro's? These things happen and if me acknowledging that means I am making excuses then so be it.
so surprised you wrote this... the super eagles left to you...will be filled wit mediocre players....
lexyman: i am not making a case for him , but i am just paying attention to the attribute of a striker he possessed .
say he possess the attribute of a midfielder and not a striker.... a striker always missing sitters...one on one chances....is that one a striker...?
i don't think the super eagles will be going to Russia to go make up the numbers but go make a difference....even the likes of ideye wit all their experience and proof in the national team colors still not sure of heading to Russia....
okputu messed himself up...he had the opportunity to gate crash rohr team..had it been he has been more clinical in front of goal he would have been up wit like 7 goals by now and that is something even rohr can't resist or deny invitation
Nigeria: Eagles' Okpotu Urges Team Mates to Stay Focused By David Ngobua
Home-based Super Eagles striker, Anthony Okpotu, has urged his team mates currently vying for honours in the 2018 Africa Nations Championship, CHAN, in Morocco to stay focused on the task at hand. On Sunday, the Eagles returned from the brink of defeat to win their quarter-final clash 2-1 against Angola. After missing a glorious scoring opportunity in the first 20 seconds of the highly explosive encounter, Okpotu scored Nigeria's equaliser in the 92nd minute to take the match to extra-time. Akwa United Gabriel Okechuwkwu then scored the match winner in the second half of added time to hand the Super Eagles their second CHAN semi-final ticket. In a telephone chat with Daily Trust yesterday, Okpotu said he felt relieved when he scored the vital goal to save the team from elimination. He said even as he was not happy that he did not take the chance that fell to him, he remained optimistic because he knew he would make amends.
Okpotu also said even the best strikers in the world miss goals so he did not see anything so different about his mistake. "It was a difficult moment for me as a striker because I should have scored that goal. "I know what was running through the minds of Nigerians when the semi-final ticket was slipping away from us. But I was focused. I knew we were going to make it.
"I am happy that I scored to make amends. I thank my team mates for believing that we could still do it," said the Lobi Stars danger man. Okpotu told his colleagues that they may be criticised but it shouldn't dampen their spirits. "We have two more matches to play so I am urging my team mates to stay calm and focused. We have to concentrate so as to win our next match and if possible, the trophy," he advised.
With Newcastle rumored to be knocking on Nacho's door coupled with Puel's recent good words for Nacho.... what then? Nacho still staying? Puel already said Nacho is going nowhere and hopes to give Nacho more playing time this second half of the season.
Famocious: Guess Who Wants To Gate Crash Nigeria Team To Russia?
Sammy Ameobi has not given up hope of gate-crashing Nigeria’s World Cup squad. The Bolton Wanderers winger pledged allegiance to the Super Eagles in 2014 despite previously representing England at Under-21s level. Ameobi has been in good form since returning from a knee injury sustained in pre-season and has three goals from his 19 starts in the Championship. Having previously played for Nigeria’s Under-20s in two friendlies in 2011, the 25-year-old would love to make the step up to senior level, emulating his brother Shola, who played at the 2014 World Cup. Ameobi hopes with regular football he is now getting at the Macron Stadium he may yet impress the international selectors and make his World Cup dream a reality. “I want to solely represent Nigeria,” he said. “Hopefully that opportunity will come but it will only possibly happen if I play well on a weekly basis, which is what I am aiming to do here at Bolton Wanderers. “With it being a World Cup year who knows what could happen? “It would be great to be a part of that, but there’s a lot of hard work ahead for me if that’s even possible. “It isn’t easy breaking into the international team. Shola did it and I can only hope to follow in his footsteps!”
abegggg...he should be reminded that keshi is no more incharge of the super eagles... how his brother made the list the last time is still a mystery...he should pledge his allegiance to England.....instead. hope he makes Southgate squad.
soetanoreoluwa: With the looking things now... Ezenwa is taking the lead but we still have 5 months to go... At stand We just have two potential goalie at the moment.. Ezenwa and uzoho
exactly...reason why I want him to get to play in May friendlies...those friendlies should be use for determining who will get to man the post when the mundial begins...
the Poland and Serbia friendlies are for handpicking those that will get to join ezenwa
TheSuperNerd: Huh? You na still youngie naa.... In fact I take that Hybrid elder back! You, me, and Safarigirl plus other awesome youngies here occupy the best part of the ground floor, first and second floors...
The third floor to the apex floor (7th floor) are filled up by others like Young Hybrid elders, Elders and the Grand Elder Elites.....
**smiles..... no problem, the young shall grow.... let's enjoy their wealth of experience small since they're not selfish wit it.
