CODMOK: If there's player I will ever respect, it's Ike Ugbo. The guy plain die. No hanky panky. He declared publicly knowing what he want. I am glad that he has now decided for Canada. Be plain.
And to think that the NFF sabotage Ike switch process shows the NFF is not completely free from this blames
Meliforme: If your definition of a playmaker is "someone that assists and score goals", then you should know that Ejuke is the highest goal scorer for his club, and also on joint top assists.
Playmaking is not even about goals and assists, it is about how pivotal a player involvement is, in attacking and defensive transitions..
According to Wikipedia, In association football, a playmaker is a player who controls the flow of the team's play, and is often involved in offensively and defensively play passing moves which lead to goals, through their vision, technique, ball control, creativity and passing ability.
You should also realise that a team can have more than one playmaker and a playmaker may not always operate from the central midfield.
Watch some of his showings in this clip, and tell me if he is not playmaking.
do4luv14: now you can see why I back/supported Pinnick as per players called up/switch,
the list was always Rohr handy works, and it's the responsibility of the technical department to grill him, on why that list, as well for him to defend the list,
then they point out his short comings, and asked him to rectify such, but they don't,
and all we do here is to blame Pinnick for it, as many of us had been doing since Ighalo recalled
But Pinnick led team appointed Equaveon as head of technical dept
Equeavon that knows nothing...... not even someone like Amunike
do4luv14: Guy no think that way, if I remember well, anytime Rohr grant an interview, he always mention Ighalo, if that one no tell you something
then honestly tell me what was shehu and musa still doing in SE, it had been the coach desire to recall Ighalo from day 1, Pinnick got nothing to do with it,
instead you should be asking, what had the technical department of the Nff been doing, approving such lists, and why, it's there you will know who pocket what
As for bubu I don't support him from day 1, don't even vote for him, so sorry bro, you got it wrong
That old man Rohr and the technical department is the problem of the super eagles
He does not even know that the super eagles is suffering dearth of creativity from the midfield
Oasis001: To be Frank, Eagles don't really need the service of Ighalo. Being top Scorer in Saudi League means nothing, coz we are not lacking in his Position.
We've got top Lads doing fine for their respective Clubs in Europe. Osimhen is there. Dennis is there. Onuachu and Awoniyi are there as well.
If at all we need an Oldie in the Rank, I would rather go for Mikel. We don't need VicMo as well, coz we've got loads of Talents on the Wings.
What Eagles are lacking now is a top 10 and a solid central Midfielder. Ejuke is a Playmaker but not a 10. Iwobi is also a Playmaker, but can play as a makeshift 10 cos he has the Skills. Aribo is a makeshift central Midfielder. Apparently we are lacking right personnel in the midfield.
Nwakali might not be doing fine at Club level, doesn't mean he won't do fine with National Team. He's only Midfield Playmaker I can point at. I wish he can be given a chance to prove himself in GWG. Alhassan deserves a Look as well.
We should stop mistaking Playmaker as No. 10. Being a good Dribbler doesn't mean you can play in the hole. What makes you excel as a No. 10 is vision to spot opportunities in the final third and making decisive passes.
Don't be surprised that you know and understand football better than Rohr
Don't be carried away by the opportunity he enjoyed who knows some of us here will do better if privilege comes calling
jihday: so what do you want Rohr to do with dessers for example? Bench iheanacho or Osimhen or Awoniyi for him? I know we don’t like the coach but let’s be objective in our criticism
Kayode was not given a fair chance and for dessers he doesn't merit a call up now but then he was invited a full debut would have been enough to tell how good he is in the national team colours
andrewbaba44: They will come and tell you that musa has been on the national team for 50 years so he cannot be dropped because he is an old member nah
Whats the difference between people who say such and clueless rohr
You're always good in vilifying others I dont understand if u can't pass your point without throwing subtle or shades at other persons opinion... or casting aspersions to make it look u are just and objective one
zuchyblink: Countries with players there are doing better than us, forget stereotypes
Oga are u agent to Ighalo or one of NFF staffs
It seems u only come here to promote recall of retired legs. Discuss real football or even canvass for young players that will add bite to the team you won't
I have to call u out Because it is getting irritating
omonla10: From the look of things, we are stuck with this Tinubu guy.. He's obviously a bad choice, but seems to be the best of the rotten eggs remaining.
Our Saint buhari has failed woefully, so it's better to kuku give d devil(wey still get small sense) a chance since our obvious younger choices are still far from being strong competitors
MetalJigsaw: Super Eagles List For Liberia, Cape Verde Clash – Rohr List Ighalo Among Strikers thestreetjournal.org
Coach of the senior national team of Nigeria Gernot Rohr has confirmed that Al Shabab of Saudi Arabian forward Odion Ighalo is in his provisional list of players for the World Cup qualifiers next month.
Nigeria will first play Liberia at their new home ground in Morocco before returning home to round up the qualifiers with a game against Cape Verde in Lagos.
The Super Eagles currently hold a two point lead over second place Cape Verde but Rohr is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to ensure that the finish the qualifiers on a high, and he has listed Ighalo who quit the team in 2019 among the strikers for the games.
In an interview with Elegbete TV, the German coach confirmed the invitation of the forward saying his leadership will be key for the remaining games but he however sounded unsure about the forward accepting the call, although according to Rohr Ighalo still has the ambition to help the Super Eagles.
“Because we miss his leadership, we miss his experience, we miss the goals he scores, he was the best scorer at the AFCON, the best scorer during the qualifiers and I think we have so many young players and they could learn a lot on the side of such a great player. Ighalo is a very important man. I hope that he can come back”; he said in the interview monitored by OwnGoalNigeria editorial team.
“I put him in the bigger provisional first list for the next games, we are in touch. He is doing very well at his club and he still has the ambition to help his country.
So which goal will Ighalo score that Oshimen can't score Our sport analyst are not doing enough they need to drill this man with lot of serious questions
ChrisKels: Whenever I see a blue ink, lately also, any moniker starting with Zuchy... na scrolling.
Can still manage to read Goodjoe posts but u see that Zuchy need to start ignore... if we were in a physical forum i am sure we would have fight severaly by now
12large1: The only angle to justify Rohr belittling comments is the “mind game” angle. Maybe, he feels like if he keep belittling his superstars, it will motivate them to defeat their rival.. if that’s Rohr aim, he is absolutely wrong because there are other ways (winners mentality) to motivate his players than to belittle them to their rival. His saving grace is that, he has met all his pre contractual agreement thus far. If not, some of his statements are terminable offenses
Looking at rohr alone u will know that he is someone that has defeatist mindset
Mujtahida: Sometimes it is good to read beyond words and pierce into the spirit of a statement. All he's saying is that we have quality players and Rohr should stop putting our players down. I hate that shitty Rohr does. Some say it's mind games but to me it's cowardice. Before the Olympics, the D'Tigers coach talked tough about his team. Omo, they were skinned at the Olympics but I appreciated his courage. If it were Rohr, he would reduce his team before the whole world and on the pitch they'd still get beat or scrape through with raggedly football.
I can't wait for rohr to leave seriously He has made me start loosing interest in the super eagles
zuchyblink: Rohr loves to trick his opponents into underrating his team but I don't like that strategy
It seems u rare this Rohr so highly
Rohr the conservatist, pessimistic talk prior any match He barely motivate or inspire the team Sometimes he laments he has a very young side other times he lament another thing
Good his side won't be the youngest in next AFCON waiting for another pre-excuse from him
Haaland will not struggle to score goals on any team
You think Napoli will allow victor go easily ,you have forgotten their president so quick and the koulibally saga
Oga andrew aka objective analyst
Scoring in german league is not same as scoring in Seria A oooo
The defenders in the later barely allow u breathing space, they bare leave spaces for strikers to explore, they're tough, brutal and way mastered the art of defending
Here teams hate conceding goals, even when loosing 3 nil they still keep defending rather than attack, the teams are defensive minded and barely tailored to play fast paced counter attacking football
Harland won't be able to put up those numbers he is doinh in Germany even CR7 struggled in Seria A unlike in La Liga
12large1: That is not true. Osimehn is actually doing well so far and it is not every time that he will score goals. You guys should stop the habit of blaming Napoli team when Osimehn don’t score. They won 3 - 0 and that’s all that matters. I was strictly talking of the free header that he missed towards the end of the game. Haaland and lewandoski are on a different level now
He is doing well I watched the match there were times the players obstruct the free flow upfront....something that would have led to good counter attack like in the epl
There were times the players upfront Lozano and Fabian were selfish instead of releasing the ball to Bologna 18 yard box
A time came the boy was frustrated because he really wanna score and he tried some balls...normali he would have passed
What gives a striker confidence is SCORING GOALS...HE needs all the confidence right now
For the header he needs to re watch the match and work more on his positioning i trust him though he is a born KING
Tolulopefinest: Anguissa is not only good but he's currently one of the best midfielders in Seria A. A complete midfielder for that matter. He hardly lose the ball and you can't even take the ball away from him.
Explain what you mean by him playing childish football
Skillful players will find it easy in Seria A
There is no fast paced football You're not under pressure to release the ball quick
The kind of play gives u room to be calm and relaxed so u can't compare this to what obtainable in the epl. Same Anguissa may struggle in the epl with this kind of play
