jamesversion: Lol. Why do I have a feeling that Mobil has been dragged down by AKSG to "visit" that Ibom building. AKSG is just looking for positive reviews and the PR that goes with it.
What does it take Mobil to acquire land somewhere in Uyo and build whatever the company feels befits them. Becos your from a fail state and you are prion to negativity. that's why you feel every other state is like urs. Wakeup Akwa Ibom is run as a state city inside a country ok |

FarahAideed: They article clearly says they are not yet tenants of the building but only came to inspect and evaluate to show interest ...my question is asking about timeline of when they will actually pay and resume They wouldn't come and discuss it with me or you na... The clearly said the will get back to the state .. Meanwhile this is the first ever official visit to the facility. So that should tell you of thier interest in it . |

EXXONMOBIL LAUDS AKWA IBOM STATE GOVERNMENT ON WORLD CLASS INFRASTRUCTURE
By Glory James
ExxonMobil is impressed with the state, standard and quality of work at the Dakkada Tower.
The Head Public and Government Affairs of the organization, Mr Effiong Esumo, stated this in Uyo when he led a delegation of ExxonMobil staff to inspect the facility on Friday.
Mr Esumo said he was delighted that the building and the installed facilities are of world class standard.
"we don't find much issue with the building or facility apart from some few areas that could be addressed as an in-tenant, but overall it is a fantastic facility", he said.
Mr Esumo also said the visit was primarily because the organization has much interest in the building and assured that management of his organization will meet and be briefed on his findings after which they will get back to the Akwa Ibom State Government.
"The fact that we are here shows we have serious interest for the facility" he added.
The Commissioner for Ministry of Special Duties, Rt. Hon. Okpolupm Etteh received and conducted the delegation round the facility.
The Special Duties Boss who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Efiong Efiakedoho applauded ExxonMobil for furthering its interest in the Dakkadda Tower by sending the delegation for facility inspection.
The Commissioner assured that any adaptations and suggestions to the Tower to better its functionality will be implemented, where possible.

rollingrocks: For that route for now, you can't base your plans on Uyo passengers alone. Currently passengers from the South East or South South heading to far North - Kano, Katsina, Jigawa, Kaduna etc have to fly to Abuja or Lagos first before taking another flight to their destinations. You might think, you might not get the traffic, but when you start, passengers from cities around (PH, Calabar, Aba, Umuahia, Owerri, Abakalilki, etc) will prefer to come to Uyo to fly directly to Kano rather than fly twice, first to Lagos or Abuja then to the far North. Kano is a good start, its the "Lagos" of the North. The CRJ 900 is perfect for a start. That how to build a route rather than foraging on already established routes and even strengthening the already saturated Lagos Hub. I have seen Ibom air's expansion plans and I am saddened to inform you that Ibom air is just there the serve other Nigerian airports. Nothing in that plan shows that they are interested in building Uyo hub. Ibom air plans to fly Duala, Banjul,Malabo, are they planning to fly from Lagos or Abuja? That will be a disaster for Uyo hub. The worst should be Uyo-Lagos-Banjul or Uyo-Abuja-Banjul if not it should be Uyo directly to those destinations. The Uyo hub has to fed properly before they plan those regional routes. That's where the indirect impacts of the airline will be felt most in Akwa Ibom-hotels, restaurants, commerce, etc. If this is not done Ibom air will just be another new good airline serving other destinations but without indirect benefits to Uyo Airport and Akwa Ibom at large. Other airlines can as well ferry people in and out of Uyo to Lagos and Abuja as before. No other airline will build Uyo hub for you, Ibom air should pick up the gauntlet and get to work immediately. Nice submission.. Am sending this to them |

rollingrocks: I wrote what you read, what's wrong with Uyo-Kano? As far as I'm concerned Ibom air is building Lagos hub period!!! When will the regional routes start? Have you considered the uyo base traffic to Kano? |
