As part of activities to ensure that the Car Assembling/Manufacturing Plant in Akwa Ibom becomes fully functional soon, I led a team of technical personnel to the site located at Ikot Ukap, Itam in Itu Local Government Area.

I am impressed at the level of work
done at the automobile plant by MIMSHAC/Merkavim Transportation Technologies and I'm sure that when fully operational, the facility will boost our Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) while also providing more job opportunities for Akwa Ibom people.

I must humbly thank our dear Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel who is not leaving any stone unturned in his industrialisation agenda. I appreciate Engr. Elias Mbam and his team from the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, SSA to the Governor on Technical Matters and Due Process, Engr. Ufot Ebong and everyone who joined us for the inspection visit.

While such projects are commendable and will generate employment, the main focus should be to raise revenue for the state.
Which one is to employ 1200 people? Abi hope it will not turn to civil service where it will be filled up with man know man and huge salary bills, people doing nothing at the end of the day it will rundown or need government subvention.
In the early 80ies some Asians were laughing that Africans love big project but when you visit the company that make the machines in India etc, you just see few lathe machines in a small warehouse.
Even the factories ours are modeled after a usually smaller with less staff but higher efficiency and production.

JOINT PRESS STATEMENT

Dana, Ibom Air Enter First of its kind Domestic Airlines Full Codeshare Agreement

UYO - MAY 21st, 2021

In the quest to offer more route options, schedule options and easy connectivity for the flying public, Dana Air and Ibom Air have announced the first-ever domestic airline codeshare agreement. The partnership, which will be referred to as the Dana-Ibom Air Alliance, was signed at the Corporate Headquarters of Ibom Air, at the Victor Attah International Airport Uyo, on Friday the 21st of May, 2021.

This partnership, which is a significant milestone for Nigeria's aviation industry, affords Dana Air and Ibom Air a business arrangement whereby both airlines jointly offer flights to common destinations, while operating services to destinations that are not within each airline’s regular routes. By doing so, both airlines expand their market presence and competitive footprint in the interest of the flying public.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, the Accountable Manager/Chief Operating Officer of Dana Air, Obi Mbanuzuo said, "This discussion started about a year ago and we are happy to be here today, formalising it. This is the first of its kind for domestic airlines in Nigeria and a huge step in the right direction for both Dana Air and Ibom Air."

"It is a partnership for sustainable growth, and connectivity for the flying public as Ibom Air passengers can now fly Dana Air to Owerri and all other Dana Air destinations while our guests can now fly to Calabar, Uyo and other Ibom Air destinations."

"Dana Air, like Ibom Air, is committed to the growth of the aviation industry and both airlines have shown great commitment to customer satisfaction, schedule reliability, operational efficiency, passion, and innovation. We do hope that this partnership between Ibom Air and Dana Air will set a positive precedent for the greater good of the industry."

Also speaking at the event, the COO of Ibom Air, George Uriesi, said "the alliance will offer increased frequencies into common destinations as well as codeshare flights into destinations each airline does not operate into, providing more options for passengers and business retention for both airlines." According to him, "with the initiation of this business alliance, both airlines have embraced a key global best practice. At Ibom Air, our business model and unwavering commitment remains schedule reliability, on-time departures and excellent service. Hence, we are constantly on the lookout for better and more effective ways to serve our customers."

Ibom Air operates multiple daily flights between Uyo, Lagos, Abuja, Calabar and Enugu and will be launching the Port Harcourt destination from 07 June, 2021. Having commenced operations in June 2019 using CRJ900 aircraft, an additional two brand new Airbus A220 aircraft will be joining the fleet this month, bringing the number of aircraft in the fleet to 7 and making it one of Nigeria's fastest growing airlines. Ibom Air has delivered a consistent average of 95% schedule reliability and on-time performance since its inception.

Dana Air is one of Nigeria's leading airlines with a mixed fleet of 9 aircraft and daily flights from Lagos to Abuja, Port Harcourt, Enugu, and Owerri. The airline is reputed for its world-class in-flight service, innovative online product and services and top notch on-time performance.

The Codeshare alliance will commence full service in June 2021.

The Ikot Oku Ikono flyover, also touted as Ekom Iman flyover by opposing elements in the State is at the finishing stage.
HE. Gov. Udom Emmanuel had assured Akwa Ibom people during the last edition of “The Governor Speaks” that ALL projects will be completed before the end of his tenure", and he meant it.

For the about 2 years this project has lasted, the haters of 'Akwa Ibom Project' have used it to talk ill of the State and it's leadership, but I wonder what line they'll use when the project is handed and put to use.
I acknowledge the Governor for this massive project and his concerns in initiating new ones.

ALSCON to recommence operation soon, stimulate economy — Gov Emmanuel

The Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria, ALSCON located in Ikot Abasi, Akwa Ibom State, will stimulate the entire economy in the country and the Akwa Ibom State Government will partner with the federal government to ensure that the Aluminium factory comes back to life, Governor Udom Emmanuel has declared.
The Governor stated this when the Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uchechukwu Ogah, paid him a visit on Thursday, at Government House, Uyo, describing the steps taken by the Federal Government as positive steps in the interest of the country and the masses.
According to him, “As a state, we are willing to give all the necessary support so that the project can actually come on stream. Trust that we will work together and we will make it work, it is in the interest of the country, it is in the interest of the masses, it will help our economy.”
Governor Emmanuel maintained that bringing back the project was beyond partisan politics and smacks development in governance. He thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for approving steps to revamping the Aluminium Smelter Company in the state, describing the move as efforts towards economic viability and the much-needed diversification

Speaking earlier, the Minister assured that the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) will be reactivated before 2023. Dr. Uchechukwu Ogah,
who revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari has directed that the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON) at Ikot Abasi be revamped, expressed optimism that at the end of the present administration, the company will commence operations.
He added that his two-day facility visit to ALSCON will ascertain the level of work at the company, and assured Akwa Ibom people that glorious days await the state soon.
In his words, “I am going to visit ALSCON to look at the activities there. The President has mandated that ALSCON should be reactivated as soon as possible, so we believe that before the end of this administration ALSCON will be running. A lot of approvals have been gotten from the Federal Executive Council, a concession for the utilization of gas, so I believe with all the efforts put in place ALSCON will be a glorious outcome”.
The Minister further explained that with the intervention of the Federal Government in the moribund status of the company, other legal issues he noted, will be resolved.
“It’s a growing concern and we believe that they will be sorted out as we keep progressing we believe that based on the intervention from the Federal Government all the legal issues will be resolved soon”, he noted.
The Minister pointed out that the Federal Government seeks partnership with Akwa Ibom State Government to create ease and a hitch-free atmosphere for solid mineral exploration in the state, adding that the collaboration will create opportunities for employment and wealth creation.
“We believe that it’s time for Akwa Ibom State to develop the solid minerals in the state, we are looking at how to synergize, to collaborate with the state government so that we can have a good relationship between the Ministry of Mines and Steel and the state so that exploration of minerals in the state will be with ease and hitch-free.
“One of the reasons I am here is that we are seeking synergy and collaboration between the state and the Federal Government on how we can work together to harness the potentials of solid minerals in the State.
“There are a lot of solid minerals abundant in Akwa Ibom State and we believe that the synergy we are creating will give rise to great opportunities that will lead to massive employment of the Nigerian youths and wealth creation for people”, he assured.

Abdul Samad Rabiu donates N5bn to boost health, social development in Akwa Ibom..
The Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa) has announced the donation of N5 billion grant to support health and social development in Akwa Ibom state.
This was announced during a presentation of the grant award letter by ASR Africa to Udom Emmanuel, governor of Akwa lbom, in Uyo, the state capital, on Thursday.
ASR Africa was established in March 2021 with an annual fund of $100 million dedicated to solving development issues in the areas of health, education and social development on the African continent — $50 million is allocated to Nigeria and the rest to other countries.
In his presentation, Kabiru Rabiu, representative of Abdul Samad Rabiu, chairman of ASR Africa and BUA Group, commended Udom for his efforts in upgrading the state healthcare infrastructure and referral system.
He said the state has exhibited good handling of the coronavirus pandemic for which the BUA Foundation donated five ambulances and 50,000 reusable facemasks in the state.
Rabiu added that ASR Africa has approved the immediate and initial disbursement of N2.5 billion from the total sum to a jointly managed fund guaranteeing the commencement of the programme.
In his remarks, Ubon Udoh, managing director of ASR Africa, said the initiative is committed to supporting efforts in the areas of education, health and social development.
He said Akwa Ibom is the first state to benefit from the initiative and its healthcare component.
“The initiative’s core areas of intervention are education, health and social development in Africa and our main focus is on equipping facilities, researchers, healthcare practitioners and community-level service providers and also supporting the efforts of various government in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa,” he said.
“The purpose of this initiative is to give back to the society. ASR Africa has set aside 100 million dollars annually for social development health and education intervention in Nigeria and Africa through the ASR Africa Fund for Social Development and Renewal. Of this amount 50 million dollars is being committed to Nigeria and another $50 million for the rest of Africa.
“Prior to now the initiative had donated N1 billion each to the University of lbadan, Oyo State and the Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Kaduna State under our education intervention programme.
“Akwa lbom state will be the first sub-national government to benefit from this Fund as well as the first to benefit from the healthcare component. We are currently evaluating other beneficiaries within Nigeria and the rest of Africa.”
Reacting to the development, Udom commended the founder of the initiative for his commitment to social good and philanthropy.
He said the projects to be funded by the grant will be jointly approved and implemented in line with the ASR Africa grants utilisation framework.
The governor added that the state will continue to do more to boost social development and improve the healthcare infrastructure for its citizens.

Over 50 Shallow Graves Discovered in the House of Uduak who murdered Umoren in Akwaibom

By Mfon Okon
The gruesome murder of Late Miss Iniubong Ephraim Umoren by his alleged potential job giver, Mr. Uduak Frank Akpan has reveled what the wicked young man and his possible collaborators in the business of "Human Parts" were doing in Akwa Ibom State since 2015. In the course of this investigation, we were able to discover that it is true what a popular slogan says, "there is life inside life". Indeed, there is life inside life.

This young man called "Uduak Frank Akpan" was a devil with human clothe and face. Personally, I still wondering why people like this lives where human beings are living. This particular case should not just be a State and National case, but it should be an international case; were people outside the Continent of Africa should follow this case to an end and also ensure that severe punishments are given to whosoever that is involved irrespective of his/her position in government or society. The ugly incident should also serve as an eye opener to job seekers in the State and also serve as self-caution to young ladies who are looking for where green light is blinking.
The wicked specie called "Uduak Frank Akpan" is an indigene of Nung Ikono Ufok but stays in Nung Ikono Obio, his father's compound both in Uruan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria to destroy destiny and terminate lives of nursery school children, young girls, young men, Youth Corpers and even adults in the State. According to his confession, he said that he started this business since 2015. What was his business, he was into luring job seekers, taking young girls home for funs and kidnapping children which he eventually killed them, takes their sensitive parts and buried them in shallow graves and later exhumed and take their bones for ritual purposes.

Our investigation reveled that the reason why he buried his victims in shallow graves is to enable him take bones out of their decayed body. To succeed on this, he poured acid on whosever he killed so that it decay very fast. In the course of our investigation, we discovered rubbers filled with acid and other human belongings in the compound. We also learnt that Uduak Frank Akpan main aim on people he killed was for "bones" and for ritual purposes. This was gathered during Interactions with people at the scene of the incident.

According to the villagers who spoke strictly on condition of anonymity, said that they are surprised to know that this was the kind of business the young was into the community. When asked people why in the entire village they did not know about his movememt and his kind of business, they said that they can't believe what has happened to be true, looking at the way Uduak Akpan behaved in the community. They said that he is a very humble and easy going gentleman who doesn't have problem with the people in the community. They also said he doesn't stay in the compound, he only comes around. According to them, whenever he is around, he on his generator that is when they know that he is around. They also classify him as someone who doesn't have time to mingle anyhow with people, and that he only mine his own business.

A young who did not want his mentioned too said that he normally see him with friends in his Toyota Highlander and that somethings he brings in girls, some will run out of the compound. He said that one night a girl ran out of the compound naked and he Uduak ran after the her. According to him, when they approached him to know exactly what happened, he demanded that they should forget about that it is boy friend and girl friend issue they were having funs Inside. Anonymous speaker said that the girl insisted that instead of her to go back to the compound, she Preferred to follow them home. He also pleaded that the community should not be totally blamed on the atrocity of Uduak Akpan becuase they did not know what he was doing all these time.

While going around the compound, we were able to discover over fifty (50) shallow graves in the compound. Late Miss Iniubong Ephraim Umoren grave was among newly buried and exhumed graves in the compund. Items also found were over hundreds of female, male and children clothes. Youth Corpers uniforms, children textbooks, rubbers of acid, University of Uyo (UNIUYO) students workbook and many other items.

Here, we came to understand why issues of missing persons was becoming alarming day by day in the State. On several occasions, we have heard how people went for interview and they are nowhere to be found. This is what job swindlers are doing in the State. They keep on posting fake employment notifications everyway in the State just to lure job seekers. Take note, if you are young lady and are in habit of following men with exotic cars you do not know, think other wise.

As earlier said, this issue requires serious attention. It is a common sense that this young man is not the only one in this business. We can't just believe that after taking all these human parts he will go straight to market and sell them. The are copartners in this business. All of them must be fetched out.
You guys go remix this news with all the fakeness to spike it up ...wonders 50 shallow graves without skeletons in it and source of news .. No be Malaria be that op?
