Prudent Ludidi Shares her story of Transforming Pain into Purpose Internationally acclaimed motivational speaker and public figure Prudent Ludidi, encouraged the congregation to stop wallowing in the abyss of past pain, but to rather turn that pain into purpose through transformation. She made this astounding revelation at the Freedom For All Nations Outreach when she shared her unique story of pain to gain. She revealed that she is an ordinary woman who has a story of transformation of pain into purpose. “There are two types of pain we are familiar with which are physical and mental pain. She revealed that pain is a highly uncomfortable experience which we don't wake up to look for or desire, but pain happens nonetheless” She said transformation is changing an undesirable status quo and pain is a necessity in the process. Untransformed pain becomes a huge waste, she asserted. She shared her personal story of a journey from pain, discomfort, rejection and confusion to transformation which had a great impact on the millions of followers who listened to her through FANO television. She was born and bred in a small town and was the last born of the family. She recounted the trauma of her late mother who was murdered by her husband ( who is her own father ) when she was just two and half years old. He stabbed her 15 wounds and three in the heart. She finally succumbed to her injuries. The cause of the fight was because a woman was involved. Her mother perished in the hands of someone she trusted at 36 years. Sadly, the same strange woman responsible for the fracas between her parents became her step mother after the demise of her mother. In fact, shortly after her mother's burial she had moved in as stepmom. According to her, her step mother really abused her and destroyed her so she thought. In her early childhood, her stepmom reminded her of how ugly she was and told her she would amount to nothing in life every opportunity she got. "She meticulously invested destruction into her life unprovoked, she chose to be on the other side of my book not on the good side of my book." Prudent said. “Sadly when I remind her of the sad incidents she subjected me to, she claims to have forgotten. Interestingly, that's what the perpetrator does they forget but the victim never forgets and I will not change my story because she forgot.' She said a lot of people suffer from untreated emotional pains that grow with them as cancer. That's why a lot of people are damaged because of pain. And it's destructive because many don't know how to respond to their past experiences. They don't know how to respond to the trauma that was presented to them. Many were molested but can't even discuss the pain and trauma openly. Pain locks you in a system of shame. It traps you in a Paragon of grief, sadness and isolation. It will put you in a corner and makes you feel responsible for everything you have ever experienced. Many have become a victim of their past. “I was not used to an environment of love because I grew up in the midst of an abusive father... “, she recounted. According to her, the way out is the transformation of pain into purpose. In the midst of her childhood trauma and pains, she is now an epitome of grace and testimony globally. That girl who was acclaimed to be ugly by her step mother is now a beauty queen with laurels. An accomplished woman who finishes her studies with flying colours on record time, despite the traumatic experience of emotional pain. “In the midst of those pains, there is God's intention there. In your troubled soul, there is God's inscription there. Sadly, many can't see it because they are moving their lives from the lens of pain. Many are paranoid thinking everyone around them is there to harm them. The key is breaking free from the shackles of your pain and trauma. You are not what they told you that you are. You are what God decides you are. I am what my father in heaven says I am. Untreated pain is a blocker of God's agenda for your life. Extract meanings from your pains. Have an understanding that God loves you and he permits you to go through it because there is a generation who depends on you to pull them up because of your painful experience. There is an entire army waiting for your testimony of transforming pain into purpose Break free from your self pity and stop looking for human validation. Don't allow the experience to go to waste. I am not in pain now but the pain to the devil right now.” Finally, she appreciated Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse for giving her the platform to be a blessing to millions through FANO TV.

Transform Your Pain To Purpose Says Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse Founder of Freedom For All Nations Outreach widely known as FANO TV, Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse has enjoined everyone across the globe to transform their pains to Purpose. He stated this during a live service at his ministry’s headquarters in South Africa with the theme, “Transforming your pain to purpose” Taking reference from the bible in James 1:3-4, he charged those walloping in pain to exercise patience and cling to God. He said they should not Live in pain but turn it into testimony. The key word is patience. “Endurance will perfect your life. Transformation is a change from pain to gain. The process is called transformation. If you fail to move out of your pain, you will remain stagnant. There is no one without pain. The foundation of the glory of all great men is built on pain. To every glory is a story to tell. We all call the name of Jesus today but the bearer of that name transitioned from pain at Gethsemane to glory of resurrection” Speaking further he said, “during the moment of pain, don't walk away from God. Because for you to experience true change from pain to gain, mess to message and error to testimony, it has to be God. No throne without a cross.’’ He revealed that pain in a man's life is the divine spice, or aroma that sweetens the future. He highlight three things to know about pain: It introduced genuine friends. You can't know who truly loves you when things are good. Secondly, pain produced two memories: those who caused the pain, and the one who brought you out of the pain. “Pain gives you genuine direction to discovering the hidden treasure and promises of God. It gives you direction to destiny discovery. It gives you relevance. Look beyond the pains because it introduced you to destiny helpers. At times pain contradicts your future expectations but with the understanding of its purpose you turn it to gain. Job said I will wait until my change comes. Pain introduced you to your destination. You can become the son or product of circumstances but it is your guidance to the land of purpose”. Furthermore, he affirmed the fact that when in pain, the way out is walking out of the cause. When in pain avoid condemnation because guilt is the enemy of self confidence. “Without tears, no life. Every faith that must be produced shall be tested. Trials preceded divine favour. Don't take offence when you are in pain. The perpetrators are the channels through which are shaped and connected to your destiny.’ “There is a reason behind those unpleasant situations. Remain in God. Results silence Insults. Success eradicates years of mess. Stop walloping in years and self pity. Rise up, strive to attain results and silence insults. Don't argue with mockers, let your result humble them. Only fools doubt proofs. Evidence swallows mockers” “If you fail, it's not your enemy's problem but your own problem. Pain is an indication that you have a glorious future. Discovery leads to recovery”

Pro. Samuel Akinbodunse Reveal the Physical, spiritual Steps to Experiencing Men's Financial Health Global prophet and founder of Freedom For All Nations Outreach, Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse has enjoined men to deal with financial issues both spiritually and physically. He made this remark during the Men's Conference 2024 at the ministry's headquaters in South Africa with the theme, Men's Financial health. Prophet Akinbodunse also dwelled on God's plan for mankind financially during the conference which is arguably both impactful and insightful. According to him, it's God's will for us to prosper with reference from Jer 29:11. He also revealed that to experience financial health, we need to deal with finance both spiritually and physically. "You can study finance in school and still be poor. However, there are principles involved. First, put your spiritual life together. Secondly, organize and prioritize your physical life. For you to prosper, learn to acknowledge and honour God with your substance." He stated further that by involving God, we avoid waste and prevent a lot of mess. The law of God is the remedy for escape. There is no way to operate or experience open doors without obeying God's law. He also cautioned against borrowing unless well established. Aside that, he kicked against borrowing money to pay debts. He advised that contentment is key to having financial health. Furthermore, he stated that unhealthy competition stifled men's financial health. He also warned against using resources to satisfy wants, rather learn to invest the resources. Drawing reference from the parable of the sowers, he said the essence of God's gift of financial blessings to men is to invest it and not to squander it. He also reiterated his earlier prophetic warning that people should save against a global calamity coming in 2030. Meanwhile, one of the speakers, Mr Yusuf Nsamba enlightened participants on understanding financial terms, analyzing financial statements, developing budgeting skills, manage cash flow effectively, plan for long term sustainability, enhance regulation skills and monitor finances to avoid pitfalls. He also admonished everyone to plan, budget and abstain from wasteful spendings. Another speaker, Pastor Tshepo Komape also highlighted spiritual aspect of finance and engaging the blood of Jesus to deal with spiritual factors militating against our financial breakthroughs. Finally, Pastor Emmanuel Adeniji during during his own remarks appreciated the men for the support and unity in putting up such a glorious event and also commended the women for backing with programme both morally and financially. The HOD of the men fellowship, Mr Pule Mohlamunyane also appreciated the set man of the ministry and his Delectable wife, Prophet Samuel Akinbodunse and prophetess Eunice Akinbodunse. Chief Allen Ifechukwu Onyeama: A Pillar in Nigeria’s Aviation Industry, Undeserving of Victimization Chief Allen Ifechukwu Onyeama, the Chairman of AirPeace, stands as one of Nigeria’s most accomplished and hardworking entrepreneurs. His airline, AirPeace, has not only redifined the aviation landscape but has also provided immense relief to millions of Nigerians. With relentless determination and a vision to democratize air travel, Onyeama has grown AirPeace into a dominant force, one that competes directly with global airlines. Yet, despite his monumental contributions to Nigeria's aviation sector, he is repeatedly subjected to scrutiny, victimization, and disparagement from foreign authorities and Western media. This ongoing attack on Onyeama is not just an attack on an individual but a blatant affront to the Nigerian aviation sector, and it calls for urgent action from all stakeholders. At a time when the cost of air travel was skyrocketing, seemingly without bounds, it was AirPeace that stepped in to stabilize the market. Nigerians had been at the mercy of astronomical airfares, as foreign carriers monopolized major routes. The ripple effect was devastating, limiting the capacity of the average citizen to fly and stifling the growth of the nation’s aviation industry. However, AirPeace, under the astute leadership of Chief Onyeama, disrupted this narrative. By offering competitive pricing and expanding its domestic, regional and international reach, AirPeace provided Nigerians with an affordable and reliable alternative. The significance of this cannot be overstated—AirPeace became a symbol of healthy competition, lifting the industry and curbing exploitative practices by foreign carriers. The success of AirPeace’s international routes, including the historic commencement of flights to London Gatwick, is a testament to its pivotal role in strengthening Nigeria's bilateral air service agreements (BASA). The landmark push by Nigeria's Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN, to secure favorable BASA routes would not have had the same impact without the involvement of AirPeace. The airline’s presence on international routes—especially with major destinations like London—challenged long-standing monopolies and helped reduce fares that had been skyrocketing. This development not only empowered the Nigerian consumer but also marked a significant victory for local airlines in a fiercely competitive global market. Onyeama’s AirPeace is paving the way for other Nigerian airlines to capitalize on more BASA routes, unlocking a new era of international connectivity and competition. His contribution has been nothing short of revolutionary, a fact that should be celebrated rather than subjected to unwarranted attacks. The repeated victimization of Chief Onyeama by U.S. authorities and the Western press appears increasingly orchestrated, raising suspicions that it is part of a larger agenda to destabilize Nigeria's aviation sector. It is no coincidence that as AirPeace rises and disrupts the status quo, Onyeama faces intensified scrutiny. This situation should raise alarms for all Nigerians, especially those within the aviation industry. This is not just Onyeama's fight—it is a fight for the survival and autonomy of Nigeria's aviation sector. At a time when the nation is striving to assert its place on the global stage, the attack on AirPeace, the closest entity Nigeria has to a national flag carrier, is an attack on the industry’s collective future. Let no one be mistaken—Chief Allen Onyeama's plight is a battle for the soul of Nigerian aviation, and the fallout will affect not just AirPeace but hundreds of its employees and the broader economy. If the authorities, regulators, and stakeholders within the aviation sector fail to rally around Onyeama now, it will be a monumental loss for the country. It is a moment that demands unity, not division. The future of Nigerian aviation depends on the survival of its biggest players, and Chief Onyeama, as the Vice President of the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON), embodies the aspirations and ambitions of countless Nigerians. His downfall would be a blow not only to AirPeace but to every stakeholder who believes in the growth and competitiveness of the Nigerian aviation sector. If I were a member of the AON, I would not sit idly while one of our most illustrious members faces such unfair persecution. The fact that Onyeama has built one of the largest employers in Nigeria’s aviation industry speaks volumes about his dedication, vision, and capability. Allowing him to fall victim to external forces is tantamount to delivering a slap to the entire aviation community. Defending Our Own: A Matter of National Pride We must ask ourselves: if we do not defend our own, who will? Chief Allen Onyeama’s contributions to Nigeria’s aviation industry should inspire pride, not condemnation. AirPeace is the pride of Nigeria’s aviation sector, representing our collective ambition to compete on the global stage. The airline is a symbol of our capacity to build and sustain world-class businesses that challenge global giants, providing critical services at home and abroad. This is the time for the Nigerian government, aviation regulators, and all industry stakeholders to stand together. We must reject any agenda—whether foreign or domestic—that seeks to tarnish the achievements of one of our finest entrepreneurs. The aviation roadmap for Nigeria, painstakingly dreamt by the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo SAN and being charted by Chief Onyeama and others, must not be derailed by baseless accusations and targeted victimization. The Time for Action Is Now Chief Allen Onyeama and AirPeace represent the future of Nigeria's aviation industry. His plight is not just his own but a call to action for all Nigerians. The stakes have never been higher, and this is a turning point in the history of Nigerian aviation. If we do not act now, we risk allowing foreign interests to dismantle the progress we have worked so hard to achieve. The time to eschew bitterness and rally around our own is now. Let us not allow external forces to sow division, or as the saying goes, “smear our white clothes with blood.” We must come together in defense of Chief Onyeama and AirPeace. The survival of the Nigerian aviation industry depends on it. Chike Stanley, a concerned aviation investor writes from Abuja.

U.S. Court Orders Arrest of Air Peace CFO, CEO Allen Onyema Faces New Fraud Charges source: https://globalnewsinternational.com.ng/us-arrest-for-air-peace-ceo-onyema/ In a major development, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia has issued an arrest warrant for Ejiroghene Eghagha, the Chief of Finance and Administration at Air Peace, a leading Nigerian airline. The warrant, issued on October 8, comes amid allegations that Mrs. Eghagha fabricated a fraudulent agreement in an attempt to absolve Air Peace CEO, Allen Onyema, from a $20 million money-laundering and wire fraud case that has persisted since 2019. The court's order brands Mrs. Eghagha a fugitive and calls for her immediate arrest, signaling the escalation of legal actions in the case. The arrest warrant was issued in conjunction with a superseding indictment against Mr. Onyema, who now faces fresh charges related to conspiracy and obstruction of justice. The indictment accuses Mr. Onyema of attempting to manipulate U.S. legal proceedings to prevent the forfeiture of millions of dollars linked to the fraud. The charges stem from a 2017 transaction in which Mr. Onyema allegedly raised letters of credit through U.S. banks to purchase Boeing aircraft that Air Peace had already acquired. According to the indictment, this maneuver resembled money laundering, as Onyema used fraudulent documentation to justify the letters of credit, enabling him to funnel funds through his company, Springfield Aviation. Investigators allege that in 2019, Onyema conspired with Mrs. Eghagha to create a backdated contract—the "Aircraft Sales and Management Agreement"—between Springfield Aviation and Air Peace. This contract, which was fabricated to appear as if it had been executed in 2016, was intended to exonerate Onyema from accusations of financial misconduct. The fraudulent contract was later submitted to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in an attempt to halt ongoing forfeiture proceedings. The indictment further reveals email evidence in which Mrs. Eghagha instructed a Springfield employee, Ebony Mayfield, to sign the falsified contract without dating it. Mayfield complied and returned the signed document to Eghagha, who then passed it to Onyema's legal team. The U.S. Attorney's Office has since uncovered these communications, deeming them part of a conspiracy to obstruct justice. Onyema’s legal woes have intensified with the fresh charges, which reopen what was becoming a dormant case. His bank accounts in the U.S. and Canada remain frozen, with millions of dollars at stake. Despite operating an international airline, Mr. Onyema has been unable to travel to the U.S. due to the arrest warrant issued against him in 2019. The situation bears resemblance to high-profile cases involving internet fraudsters such as Hushpuppi and Woodberry, both of whom were arrested and extradited to the U.S. Onyema now faces similar risks should he travel to countries with strong ties to the U.S. This latest development marks a significant blow to Air Peace and its leadership, further complicating Onyema's efforts to clear his name in the U.S. legal system. The case continues to unfold, with both Onyema and Eghagha facing serious charges that could have wide-reaching implications for the airline and its operations. https://globalnewsinternational.com.ng/us-arrest-for-air-peace-ceo-onyema/

Pro Kingsley Eulogizies Mentor, Bishop Oyedepo @70 ....How he accurately Predicted Edo Election, death of popular Isla)i c act The founder of Oneness in Christ Ministry Worldwide, Prophet Kingsley Aitafo has eulogized his mentor Bishop David Oyedepo as he clocked 70. In his message, he described him as a father, patriarch of faith family and mentor who is a man like a nation. He also shared personal testimonies to attest to the impact of Bishop teachings on his life and ministry. "One man like a nation. I am grateful to God for his love over my life. He opened my eyes to see the teachings of the great patriarch of faith. Today which mark the 70th birthday of Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo, I cant thank God enough for spearing your life sir. I thank God that I am not reading about Bishop in books that I am alive to witness this great man of God . I pray that God will continue to keep you daddy and at the end God will help you to make heaven." "I will share two testimonies of the light I caught from my mentor . There is this random mentality among prophets and pastors that if they pray for anyone they are using their anointing many can be attack as a consequences. so with this mentality, you will hear many saying as they were praying some arrows enter into them. Thus, one day, I was watching my mentor during a laying of hands service. He prayed for some pastors and asked them to start laying hands on the sick and one of the pastor was laying hand twice and he screamed stop , once is enough, you are not the healer. You are not the owner of the virtue , you are just like microphone , I stood up and screamed eeee eeeh ehen so this is the secret. From that day, that consciousness that Jesus Christ is the one doing everything came alive in me . Second testimony is that he will always say I see my self at 100years preaching the gospel, there is a covenant heritage of long life, I will always think how? then one day he said Job 5 vs 26 , my eyes was opened . He will always say any faith you can speak boldly is a liar . I thank God for opening my eyes to see this great patriarch of faith , God bless you sir , Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo is a subject that must be studied if you want to discuss how to make it life" It would be recalled that Popular Nigerian Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso has reportedly passed away. A cleric, Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh Islamic Da’awah disclosed the news of her demise on his Facebook account on Tuesday morning. This was a confirmation of the prophetic warnings of prophet Kingsley who said he saw her passage in a shock. A relative of the singer and the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on New Media to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Jubril Gawat also confirmed the passing of Rukayat in a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday morning. Aside that, another of his prophetic warning about Edo election came to pass with the emergence of Monday Okpebholo as Winner of the gubernatorial election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, the winner of the Edo state governorship election that took place on Saturday, September 21. This was part of Prophet Kingsley's prediction in June 2024 when he said the battle is between APC and PDP and that the labor party is not in the equations. He said Okpebholo will emerge winner .

How Prophet Kingsley Accurately Gave prophetic Warnings on Flood Ravaging the World ...Stages 3 Days Powerful Open air Crusade Sadly, floods have displaced over 300,000 people and damaged thousands of buildings, affecting one million people in Maiduguri. Sadly, More than 30 people have been killed by the floods, which authorities say affected about one million people, most of whom are housed in camps without food and clean water. Sadly, popular prophet and shepherd in charge of Oneness in Christ ministry, Prophet Kingsley Aitafo gave prophetic warnings about that and other floods ravaging the world. In his prophetic warnings earlier this year he stated that we should pray against destructive flood that was coming to some states in Nigeria and some parts of the world. He cautioned about floods in Maiduguri, kwara, central Europe amongst others. And according to his message, flood has ravaged certain parts of Nigeria and the world especially Maiduguri and Kwara state. Seyi Tinubu, Yinka Tinubu, Noella Foundation, and Associates Lead Humanitarian Response to Maiduguri Flooding Crisis In response to the recent devastating floods in Maiduguri, Borno State, two of President Bola Tinubu’s children, Seyi Tinubu and Yinka Tinubu, in collaboration with the Noella Foundation, their associates, and some private sector partners, mobilised significant humanitarian aid to support those affected. This was made known during their visit to Borno state where they met the Governor of the State and the Shehu of Borno. The ST Noella Relief initiative, spearheaded by Seyi and Yinka Tinubu, alongside Seyi’s wife, Layal Tinubu, and their Noella Foundation, aims to bring much-needed assistance to displaced persons and flood victims. Following President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Maiduguri earlier this week, where he called for private sector involvement in flood relief efforts, Seyi Tinubu and his family quickly rallied friends, associates, and organisations within their private circle to mobilise substantial resources to deliver vital food, non-food, and medical supplies to thousands of internally displaced persons (IDPs) affected by the floods. Seyi Tinubu, speaking on behalf of the team, said: “We are here today, united in the belief that when our people are in need, we respond with action. These contributions are just the beginning, and we will continue to support Maiduguri and Borno State as they recover from this tragedy.” Further speaking, Seyi Tinubu said that this initiative is a sustained effort, with more aid and resources expected in the coming weeks to ensure that no family is left behind in the recovery process. The relief drive is part of a larger commitment by the Noella Foundation to strengthen communities and provide relief in times of crisis. Governor Babagana Zulum expressed his gratitude for the swift response and assured that the resources would be distributed efficiently to meet the needs of the affected populations. The generous donation includes 1,000 cartons each of spaghetti, tomato paste, and groundnut oil, along with 200 bags of maize flour and 500 bags of 25kg rice, to provide essential sustenance. Abba Bichi Debunks False Claims of Fleeing After Alleged $2 Million Theft Abba Bichi, son of former Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, has refuted claims circulating on an online news portal that he is on the run after allegedly stealing $2 million from his father. The news, widely dismissed as fake, alleged that Abba fled with the stolen money. However, Abba, a professional footballer currently based in Abuja and exploring club opportunities in Germany, addressed the rumors in a podcast recorded inside a stadium in Germany. In a video released online, Abba could be heard speaking to his father after his team had lost a match. His father, Yusuf Bichi, offered words of encouragement, saying, “In life, you win some and lose some.” The exchange also involved Abba's coach, identified as Mr. Thomas, who mentioned that their next match would be against Bayer Leverkusen. Yusuf Bichi expressed optimism about the upcoming game, showing his continuous support for his son’s career. The false report is the latest in a series of online attacks aimed at tarnishing the image of the former DSS boss, who served in his role for over six years with distinction.

How pro Kingsley Predicted Death of Star Ballet Dancer, Michaela DePrince Sadly, Star Ballet singer, Ballerina Michaela Mabinty DePrince, who performed with Beyoncé and was seen by many as a trailblazer, has died at the age of 29. Interestingly, popular mouthpiece of God, prophet Kingsley Aitafo gave a prophetic warning about her death. He revealed that prayer should be offered as he saw her passed away in a shock. A spokesperson announced her death on her personal Instagram page and in a statement her family said she was an "unforgettable inspiration to everyone who knew her or heard her story". The cause of death has not been given. DePrince made a remarkable journey from suffering as an orphan in war-torn Sierra Leone to numerous accolades in the world of international dance. Her family said her death had been "sudden", adding: "Michaela touched so many lives across the world, including ours." Tributes have been pouring in, including from others in the ballet community. “Despite being told the 'world wasn’t ready for black ballerinas' or that 'black ballerinas weren’t worth investing in,' she remained determined, focused, and began making big strides,” American ballerina Misty Copeland wrote on social media. Born in Kenema, Sierra Leone, in 1995, DePrince was sent to an orphanage at the age of three after both of her parents died during the civil war. She has spoken in the past about how she was seen as a "devil's child" in the orphanage because she suffered from vitiligo, a condition in which patches of skin lose pigmentation. But she was adopted aged four by an American couple and moved to New Jersey. Her adoptive mother quickly noticed her obsession with ballet and enrolled her in classes. She rose to fame after graduating from high school and made history as the youngest principal dancer at the Dance Theatre of Harlem. DePrince has performed across the world, including in Beyoncé's "Lemonade" music video album. She joined the prestigious Boston Ballet as a second soloist in 2021 and starred in the TV show Dancing with the Stars when she was just 17. A dedicated humanitarian, DePrince also advocated for children affected by conflict and violence. Her spokesperson wrote that her artistry "touched countless hearts" and her spirit had "inspired many, leaving an indelible mark on the world of ballet, and beyond". They added: "Her life was one defined by grace, purpose, and strength. Her unwavering commitment to her art, her humanitarian efforts, and her courage in overcoming unimaginable challenges will forever inspire us. "She stood as a beacon of hope for many, showing that no matter the obstacles, beauty and greatness can rise from the darkest of places."

Shehu Mohammed and the Evolution of Digitization in FRSC: A Tale of Road Safety Revolution in Nigeria From whatever perspective you choose to look at him, the Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Shehu Mohammed is a voyage in the transportation industry with a touch of class. One of the most outstanding safety practitioners whose efficiency, knowledge, diligence and professionalism have become another definition of standard in road safety administration and traffic management. I say this because, Men of unique achievements are celebrated anywhere in the world, and when their values are appreciated, they are not only spurred to do more, but also encouraged to inspire the younger generation. This article therefore explores the evolution of digitization in FRSC, its impact on road safety, and how the leadership of Mallam Shehu Mohammed has driven this transformation. To begin with, a critical appraisal of this digital age suggests that innovation and technology have transformed various sectors, including the road transportation sector, especially in the area of safety of lives and properties of commuters on the road. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria's premier road safety agency, has seen an unprecedented degree of digital revolution that has placed the lead agency at the forefront of unparalleled transformation. The evolution of digitization at FRSC under Shehu Mohammed's leadership has rekindled the light of hope in FRSC. By embracing technology, FRSC has enhanced efficiency, transparency, and service delivery, setting a benchmark for public sector innovation. As FRSC continues to push the boundaries of digitization, its impact on road safety will only continue to grow, saving lives and making Nigerian roads safer. The present Corps Marshal whose trajectory dates back to more than 3 decades has been instrumental in driving FRSC's digital transformation. His vision, strategic thinking, and commitment to innovation have inspired a cultural shift, positioning FRSC as a model for public sector digitization in Nigeria. With a policy thrust that has Rejiged and repositioned operational activities through digital transformation, broadened the scope of strategic partnership, entrenched zero tolerance to indiscipline as well as enhanced welfare of staff, the Corps Marshal has revolutionised the lead agency and revived it's Glory. The Corps Marshal began his digital revolution on the administrative front with Electronic Document Management System ( Paperless) which will be launched soon. While on the operational front, he initiated and launched FRSC Mobile Application, a one-stop shop for all FRSC products and services, for ease of doing business and quality service delivery. The FRSC Mobile App was introduced to generate and analyse real time data on operations, Traffic Crashes data management, road conditions, and provide customers with feedback on the Corps’ products. The initiative targets at enhancing the operations of the Corps, so as to significantly improve the effectiveness and responsiveness of road safety management in Nigeria. The Application provides the Corps with critical information, enables timely decision-making and swift action to ensure the safety of road users. The importance of the application and its impact on road safety administration cannot be emphasized as it ensures immediate incident response, dynamic traffic management, accurate and timely reporting, data-driven insights for Future Planning, etc. Part of the features of this innovative App includes its ability to detect vehicle speed, black spots on the roads, remind drivers and vehicle owners about when to change their tyres, grant easy access to verification of drivers license, vehicle number plates as well as other FRSC products and services. You could access the National Traffic Radio for real time traffic update, and also report road traffic crashes, obstructions and other emergencies. Having understood that a well collated and analysed data drives decision-making and guides policy formulation and implementation, the Corps Marshal developed the National Crash Reporting Information System (NACRIS). NACRIS complements the Corps efforts exhibited over the years to capture information about road traffic crash such as the inauguration of Road Traffic Crash Information system in 2014 and the harmonized reporting format of Road traffic Crash to align with international best practice. It is a web application that allows the Corps to analyse the economic, health and other burdens that road traffic crashes leaves on the shoulders of our nation, as well as helps in intelligence sharing with relevant stakeholders such as NPF, NEMA, NBS, NCDC, etc. In less than hundred days in office, Shehu restored the integrity of the National Drivers License and resolved issues surrounding the production of the national drivers license and the vehicle number plates by strengthening the production capacity of the production plants which are presently performing at optimal level. Added to this is the introduction of penalty point system as part of operational strategy to discourage abuse of traffic regulations. Apparently with these milestones, Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed is indeed a believer in success who goes the stretch to achieve it. He has proven to be a leader who leads by example and his leadership cuts across tribes, religion and cultural boundaries, without discrimination. Fondly referred to as “Mr Welfare” by members of the Corps, Shehu Mohammed also broadened the scope of staff professionalism through enhanced capacity development. Part of the efforts in this regard include the expansion of slots for further studies for staff. For the first time in the history of the Corps, the entire arresting Marshal's and Commanding Officers have been subjected to an intensive training that will enhance staff professionalism. In the same vein, within the short period, the Corps Marshal ensured the promotion of officers as a catalyst for optimal performance. He has promoted 8 Assistant Corps Marshals to the rank of Deputy Corps Marshal while 28 Corps Commanders are presently awaiting their promotion to the rank of Assistant Corps Marshal. To boost the morale of staff, he established the hall of fame where personnel who exhibit outstanding character are paraded and rewarded to boost their morale and general productivity of staff. This is in addition to hall of shame where personnel who engage in Patrol Misconduct/Incivility to the motoring public are paraded and given the punishment that is due to them. Apart from the foregoing, the Corps under his leadership has commenced harmonization of the Ranking Structure and proper placement of Men of the other rank. Payment of transfer allowances and eradication of punitive posting from the Corps has also been in top speed. Knowing the impact of mutual collaboration, he went further to strengthen partnership with International agencies (United Nations (UN), World Bank, World health Organization (WHO). As well as enhanced collaboration with transport unions and the Special Marshals. A combination of these strategic efforts reflected in the 2024 Eid-El-KABIR special patrol, where the Corps recorded huge reduction in crashes, fatalities and injuries. 51% reduction in road traffic crashes, 38% reduction in number of people involved, and 39% reduction in number of people killed. Also, while 35% decrease was recorded in number of people injured, the Corps achieved 41% reduction in number of people rescued without injuries. A trail blazer and one of the key member of the group who blazed the trail that transformed what is today known as the Lead Agency on road safety in the whole of Africa; Shehu Mohammed is a Prince from the royal throne of the Zauzzau Emirate, the Sulikin Arewan Zauzzau and a Double-Awardee, of FRSC Anti-Corruption and Transparency Monitoring Unit. Bisi Kazeem, fsi, anipr, FISPON, a retired Deputy Corps Marshal, veteran road safety professional and a public relations expert, writes from Lagos, Nigeria.

'Bleep You All' - Social Media Agog as Gov Abiodun's Aide Fires at APC Leader The internal crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Remo North, Ogun State, has escalated following a public altercation between Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Special Adviser, Adebiyi Adeleye, and a party leader, Pa Yusuf Asiru. The conflict began after Adeleye posted a tribute to his late father on Facebook, where he eulogized him with the Yoruba phrase, "Omo a gbohun ilekun ma tagiri." Pa Yusuf Asiru, a long-standing leader of the APC in Remo North, commented under the post, praising Adeleye’s father and recalling a shared history. However, this simple gesture turned sour when Adeleye took offence, objecting to the characterization of his late father as Pa Asiru's "friend." In a sharply worded reply, Adeleye accused Pa Asiru of disrespect, suggesting it was inappropriate to refer to his late father as a peer. He stated: "Yusuf Asiru sir, if my dad was alive, he would be 85 years old. It’s really denigrating and disrespectful to call my dad your friend... I have just decided to stop the unnecessary misrepresentation of facts and history." Despite Pa Asiru’s dignified response of, "God bless your judgment," tensions escalated when Pa Asiru’s son, Shola Asiru, stepped in to defend his father. In a message seen by our correspondent, Shola warned Adeleye against further disrespect: "This isn't just to insult you but to wake you up in case you're losing your mind... Push me further, and you will regret it. I can expose your true character to everyone, and you won’t enjoy the fallout." Adeleye’s response shocked many, as he lashed out with a blunt retort, saying: "Apple doesn't fall far from its tree. Like father, like son... If you do anything funny, I swear, I will hit back at your disrespectful dad. Bleep you all." This public outburst has sparked widespread outrage, with Ogun State residents and party members calling on Governor Dapo Abiodun to address the behavior of his aide. Critics claim that Adeleye’s continued disrespect towards key leaders in Remo North is contributing to the APC’s declining fortunes in the area, citing the party’s loss in all 10 wards during the last gubernatorial and assembly elections. One resident, Samson Peter Adewale, reacted online, describing Adeleye’s actions as arrogant: "How can Hon Biyi Adeleye be insulting an elderly person on social media? We Ipara people will not take that from you at all... Don’t you remember that your dad was once a thief in Isara?" Many now fear that this internal rift could further jeopardize the APC’s chances in the upcoming local government elections, especially if the governor backs Adeleye’s preferred candidate.

Matrix Energy's Legacy of Purity and Integrity Amid Smear Campaign In the ever-competitive world of Nigeria's petroleum industry, success breeds both admiration and envy. For Abdulkabir Aliu, the Chief Executive Officer of Matrix Energy Limited, the latter has unfortunately manifested in recent unfounded allegations that his company has been importing substandard petroleum products. These accusations, however, are nothing more than the desperate ploys of saboteurs and detractors who seek to tarnish the sterling reputation that Matrix Energy has built over two decades of impeccable service. Let's set the record straight: Matrix Energy has never, and will never, compromise on the quality of its products. As Aliu himself emphatically stated, "We have never brought in any product that is either hazardous or off-spec and we will never do that because we love this country." These are not just words; they are the guiding principles that have driven Matrix Energy to the forefront of Nigeria’s petroleum industry, making it a household name synonymous with quality, integrity, and reliability. For 20 years, Matrix Energy has not only thrived but has set the gold standard for what it means to operate with excellence in the petroleum sector. Aliu, a banker-turned-businessman, has steered the company with an unwavering commitment to the highest standards, ensuring that every product that bears the Matrix Energy name is a testament to the company’s dedication to quality. The company leverages its deep market expertise and robust infrastructure to deliver only the best to its customers, who continue to place their trust in Matrix Energy year after year. The rumors of substandard imports are nothing but the bitter fruits of envy, planted by those who wish to see Matrix Energy falter. These detractors, threatened by the company’s success and growth, have resorted to baseless smear campaigns in a bid to undermine the trust that the Nigerian public has in Matrix Energy. But Aliu and his team remain undeterred. With the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) rigorously monitoring and regulating the quality of petroleum products in the country, it is simply impossible for off-spec products to enter the market, let alone be associated with a reputable firm like Matrix Energy. In a sector where shortcuts are tempting, Matrix Energy has consistently chosen the path of integrity. Aliu’s words, "Everything is not about money; Matrix Energy stands on quality," are a bold reminder that true success is not measured by profit margins alone, but by the enduring trust and respect of the people. As Matrix Energy continues to shine as a beacon of excellence, those who attempt to dim its light will find that their efforts are in vain. Let there be no doubt: Matrix Energy’s commitment to Nigeria is unwavering, and no amount of baseless allegations will change that. Aliu and his company will continue to stand tall, as the pillars of quality and integrity in Nigeria’s petroleum landscape.

OpenLife Summit: Chief Of Naval Staff, Customs Comptroller General, Senator Odunsi, Prof Akhaine, Others Examine, Proffer Solutions To Nigeria’s Conflicting Issues The importance of commitment to security values and the presence of patriotic social forces have been advanced as the panacea to Nigeria’s security situation at the maiden edition of the OpenLife Annual Summit held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The summit, themed "Creating Enabling Environment for Economic Growth Through Strategic Tackling of Insecurity," brought together stakeholders from various fields and sectors, such as politics, banking, academia and security organisations. The gathering deliberated on the need for effective tackling of Nigeria’s insecurity to enhance economic growth in the country. While delivering the welcome address, the publisher of OpenLife magazine and the convener of the OpenLife Summit, Idumonza Isidahomhen, gave a concise background to the summit and its goals of how to achieve a better Nigeria. According to him: "The outcome of this summit will not be one of those summits that have been held in Nigeria that ended up in the trash cans. All the issues that will be discussed here today, including the recommendations, will be sent as a communique to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the Office of the Chief of Staff as well as the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and the Co-Ordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, as input into executive policy formulation and implementations." He further stated: "To demonstrate our commitment to an improved Nigeria, we, at OpenLife, have developed a monitoring mechanism to keep tabs on government activities in ensuring that resolutions don’t end up in the trash cans." While expressing worries about widespread insecurity in the country, Idumonza said the development is a collective concern of citizens and government. "OpenLife, by this summit, is demonstrating that either as an individual or institution, security and improving the economy should be the concerns of all,” he stressed. In his opening remarks, the chairman of the occasion, Senator Akin Odunsi, avowed that "the summit is timely and appropriate in our national life," given the severity of the security challenges bedevilling Nigeria in the past few years. He said: "We cannot but continue to deliberate and search for effective ways that could lead us out of the quagmire. Our discussions and the recommendations resulting from the Open Life Summit will contribute to the solutions available to our government to scale the hurdles of the security challenge." Senator Akin Odunsi, who represented Ogun West Senatorial District in the 7th Senate of the National Assembly, said it was heartwarming to see participants and guests from the relevant sectors present at the event. "That is a good pointer to the fact that we are not just here for some social celebration, but a dignified occasion to examine one of the serious issues affecting our country's corporate existence and well-being,” he said. The senator further expressed his expectation, saying: "I do hope the discourse will yield quality insights that will help our country manage and subdue the issue of insecurity. With that in mind, I am optimistic that the needed conducive environment to grow our economy and enhance all-inclusive prosperity will be achieved." Professor Sylvester Odion Akhaine of the Political Science Department, Lagos State University, who delivered a lecture titled: "Insecurity and the National Economy," concisely defined the Nigerian situation, showing the nexus between insecurity and the worsening economy. In his words: "The insecurity in Nigeria directly affects the productive forces, hence, the comatose nature of the national economy and the consequent bogey of hunger staring everyone in the face. Food crop production has become impossible due to prevailing insecurity in the country. The unearned income from the sales of crude oil has been jeporpardized by oil theft, which has reduced the country’s foreign exchange earnings and inclined it towards perpetual borrowing." This situation, according to Professor Akhaine, has undermined the strength of the national currency against major foreign currencies. "The manufacturing sector, which is largely import-dependent for essential components, is hard-hit. Many companies have had to fold up compounding a sub-element of the insecurity in the country, that is, job insecurity. The indicators are so glaring: the exchange rate of the naira to the dollar is N1, 589; external indebtedness is $42,115.54 billion as of March 31, 2024," he articulated. The immediate past Head of Political Science Department in LASU, however, avowed that the country has the potential to solve the insecurity problem. "Nigeria has the natural resources and the demographic capital to solve the problems that confront it. Is it not intriguing that a country that could lead peace initiatives in sister West African countries in the late 1980s and early 1990s, and restore democratic governance structure, is struggling to maintain social order in what I have referred to as the endless present?" He noted that the problem is rooted in the failure of leadership and the absence of a patriotic nation-building elite. "A new social force that is patriotic, a commitment to the security values we have identified is required to pull the country through these trying times," he concluded. The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, who was represented at the summit by Apapa Area Commander of NCS, Comptroller Babatunde Olomu, spoke about the role of customs in the economic diversification agenda of the federal government. Olomu disclosed the various initiatives implemented by Nigeria customs aimed at facilitating legitimate trade and suppressing smuggling. “For economic growth, we have devised a working system that ensures quicker processing of imports and exports through world customs organisation programmes like time release study, TRS, advanced ruling, dispute resolution committee, 24-hour port operations, and authorised economic operator (AEO),” he said. On the strategic tackling of insecurity, he disclosed that the Nigeria Customs Service has adopted modern technology to optimise its operations. “As part of our modernisation agenda, we have adopted non-intrusive inspection. This is an x-ray used in customs operations to screen imported and exported goods without disrupting their integrity. This advanced technology detects hidden items in goods without the need to physically examine them,” he said. The Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogallah, represented by Rear Admiral Mustapha Balat Hassan, Flag Officer Commanding, Western Naval Command, stated that the OpenLife Summit provided the needed platform for crucial discussions on national security and economic growth. Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Hassan stated: "It is only in a secure environment that socio-economic activities can thrive, thereby engendering economic growth for national development." While stating that terrorism, banditry, and communal clashes have adversely affected the nation’s socio-economic landscape, he also underscored the havoc wreaked by increasing maritime security challenges, including oil theft, pipeline vandalism, and piracy. According to him, these issues are driven by poverty and the proliferation of small arms, which have stunted the growth of the oil and gas sector and thus limited government revenue. He avowed that the Nigerian Navy is combating the problem with the implementation of a Total Spectrum Maritime Strategy that focuses on surveillance, response, and law enforcement. He also detailed the Navy's investment in state-of-the-art Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) facilities, which enable continuous monitoring of the maritime environment. He dwelt on Operation Delta Sanity, one of the key initiatives launched in January 2024, aimed at eradicating crude oil theft and increasing daily crude oil output. According to him, the operation has yielded significant results, with 35 ships involved in oil theft arrested and numerous illegal refining sites deactivated. The success of the operation, according to him, has led to a steady increase in Nigeria's crude oil production, rising from 1.24 million barrels per day to 1.65 million barrels per day by the end of July 2024. He further disclosed that the Nigerian Navy is actively collaborating with local and international stakeholders to enhance maritime security. He cited the navy’s recent participation in multinational exercises, such as Exercise Obangame Express and Operation Safe Domain 3, as evidence of commitment to regional cooperation in addressing maritime crimes. Rear Admiral Hassan concluded with assurances that the Nigerian Navy, under Vice Admiral Ogalla's leadership, is dedicated to maintaining safe and secure waters for legitimate economic activities that facilitate national development.

The man who was harbouring them made a statement and confessed to the fact that he was the one who paid the N40,000 for the removal of the baby from the deceased without the approval of the family and buried them. Sadly, the family were shocked when a few hours after their arrest, the suspect was allegedly released by the police. These unfortunate developments have sent shock and dismay to the family concerned which elicited media reports and made them doubt the capability of the Cross Rivers state police command to administer justice and equity on such a horrible criminal incident. With this new development, the family affirmed that the police under the command of the Cross River state cp who denied not to have released any of the suspects now detained the principal complainant

NNPC’s N3.3Trillion FY2023 Triumph: A Glimpse into the Strategic Minds Steering Nigeria’s Oil Giant In a year marked by challenges and opportunities, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has once again proven its mettle, reporting a record-breaking profit after tax of ₦3.3 trillion for the 2023 financial year. This remarkable figure, up from ₦2.5 trillion in 2022, signals the company’s unwavering resilience and strategic prowess amidst global economic uncertainties. At the centre of this success is a leadership team that has adeptly navigated the complexities of the oil and gas sector. The Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari, has been instrumental in tackling the persistent issues of oil theft and infrastructure challenges, which have long hampered Nigeria’s energy sector. Under his leadership, significant milestones have been achieved, including increasing Nigeria’s oil production from about 1 million bpd to 1.6 million bpd over the last two years to the completion of the mechanical phase of the Port Harcourt refinery’s rehabilitation. The refinery is on course to restart commercial operations by Q4 2024. Kyari proudly reflects on this achievement: "The operationalisation of the Port Harcourt refinery is one of the emerging indicators that Nigeria will become a net exporter of petroleum products by December.” While Kyari’s leadership has been critical in steering NNPC through this period of transformation, the financial stewardship behind these achievements has been equally vital. Much of NNPC’s financial success can be traced to the strategic vision and careful management of Chief Financial Officer Umar Isa Ajiya. Though often understated, his role has been crucial in aligning NNPC’s financial strategies with its broader operational goals, ensuring that the company not only meets but exceeds its financial targets. Mr. Ajiya, a seasoned finance and business management professional with over 34 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, has been a critical architect of NNPC’s financial turnaround. His career, which began at Elf Petroleum (now Total) and later flourished at Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited (NLNG), has been marked by a series of strategic roles where he demonstrated a deep understanding of corporate finance, business strategy, and stakeholder management. At NNPC, his financial acumen has been instrumental in transforming the company into a profitable entity, a feat that had eluded it for decades. Under Ajiya’s financial oversight, NNPC reported a substantial revenue of ₦8.2 trillion in 2023, reflecting the company's strong market presence and operational efficiency. This financial discipline has also enabled NNPC to reduce its overall debt by ₦500 billion, a significant achievement further strengthening its balance sheet. “Our goal is not only to avoid financial losses but also to consistently add value and pay dividends to our shareholders,” Ajiya has been quoted as saying, a sentiment that underlines his commitment to ensuring NNPC’s financial sustainability. Moreover, NNPC’s cash flow from operations significantly improved, reaching ₦1.7 trillion, a clear indication of the company’s robust management of its operational costs. This financial stability has been crucial in supporting NNPC’s broader strategic initiatives, including the ongoing battle against oil theft and the rehabilitation of critical infrastructure. As NNPC continues to build on its successes, strong financial leadership will remain crucial. The company’s ability to navigate the complex and ever-evolving energy landscape hinges on the combined strengths of its senior leadership team. Their collaborative efforts have positioned NNPC to not only meet its immediate objectives but also secure long-term growth and stability. In summary, 2023 has been a year of significant milestones for NNPC—a year where robust and decisive leadership has made all the difference. As the company looks ahead, it remains a cornerstone of Nigeria’s economic future, with a well-equipped leadership team to guide it through whatever challenges lie ahead. The strategic insight and financial acumen of its senior executives, working in tandem with operational leaders, will undoubtedly play a key role in shaping NNPC’s path forward.

Celebrating Festus keyamo's Groundbreaking Exploits in Office As Aviation Minister Exactly one year ago, the appointment of Festus Keyamo SAN CON FCIarb (UK) as Nigeria's Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development was met with widespread skepticism. A renowned lawyer and public advocate, Keyamo was seen as an outsider to the aviation sector—a square peg in a round hole. Critics questioned his ability to navigate the complex world of aviation, where technical expertise and industry experience are often considered prerequisites for success. However, as we mark the one-year anniversary of his tenure, it is clear that Keyamo has defied expectations, emerging as a transformative force and a visionary leader in the aviation sector. From the outset, Keyamo demonstrated a proactive approach that would come to define his leadership. One of his earliest victories was the realignment of Nigeria with the Capetown Convention, a crucial move that will open doors for local aviators to access international leasing markets. This achievement was not just a matter of policy but of strategic diplomacy. Keyamo's engagement with the Attorney General, the Chief Justice of Nigeria, and other legal stakeholders is paving the way for this milestone, setting a strong foundation for future growth in the aviation sector. Keyamo’s foresight was further evident when he facilitated the launch of Air Peace's London Gatwick route. Many faulted his involvement in this endeavour, viewing it as too patronizing. Today, Keyamo’s decision has proven to be a masterstroke, significantly enhancing Nigeria's presence on the global aviation stage. This bold move is a reflection of his broader vision to elevate the country's aviation industry to international standards. Central to Keyamo's agenda has been the renegotiation of the London Heathrow Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA). Recognizing the imbalance in the current agreement, Keyamo has been a staunch advocate for fairness and reciprocity. His efforts to secure more favorable terms for Nigeria’s flag carriers underscore his commitment to ensuring that Nigerian airlines are not merely participants but key players in global aviation. When tensions flared in the aviation sector over the contentious 50% revenue deductions, it was Keyamo’s diplomatic finesse that averted a potential crisis. His open letter to aviation workers, coupled with strategic negotiations with the federal government, resulted in a reduction of the deductions to 20%, thereby easing tensions and restoring industrial harmony. This episode highlighted Keyamo's ability to navigate complex challenges with tact and resolve. Keyamo’s engagement with global aviation giants like Boeing and Airbus further illustrates his determination to position Nigeria as a significant player in the industry. His discussions with Airbus in Toulouse and ongoing talks with Boeing in the U.S. are aimed at facilitating dry leasing options for Nigerian airlines, a move that could significantly boost the sector’s capacity and competitiveness. Under Keyamo’s watch, Nigeria's major airports have undergone significant improvements. From tackling corruption and touting to launching a Ministerial Task Force on Illegal Private Charter Operations, the transformation is palpable. Perhaps one of his most notable achievements was the swift resolution of the protracted land dispute that had stalled the Abuja Second Runway project for years. In just two weeks, Keyamo achieved what his predecessors could not, clearing the way for the commencement of construction—a clear indicator of his no-nonsense approach to governance. Keyamo’s impact extends beyond infrastructure. Within a month of taking office, he ordered all international airlines to relocate to the new Lagos terminal, making it fully operational. His quick fixes to design flaws and collaboration with the immigration service to remodel Wing E at the Murtala International Airport, Lagos, have transformed the terminal into a state-of-the-art facility. This public-private partnership model exemplifies the innovative spirit Keyamo brings to his role. The reactivation of Lagos’ Second Runway, which had been out of service for two years, is another feather in Keyamo’s cap. His decisive action restored full operational capacity to Nigeria’s busiest airport, further demonstrating his ability to tackle longstanding issues with urgency and efficiency. One of the most vexing challenges in the industry—trapped funds for foreign airlines—was also resolved under Keyamo’s leadership. By working closely with the Central Bank of Nigeria, he cleared the backlog, restoring confidence in Nigeria’s aviation sector and reaffirming the country’s commitment to honoring its international obligations. Some of the benefits of clearing the foreign airlines' trapped funds is the resolve of Dubai visa issuance to Nigerians and the return of Emirates' Nigeria/UAE flights, which industry experts have applauded as commendable. In not so long a time, specifically by October 1st, this year, Nigerians will have the luxury of reverting status quo by having the opportunity of frequenting the UAE once again, both for leisure and business purposes. Keyamo’s successful negotiation with UK authorities to grant Air Peace reciprocal operating rights was a groundbreaking achievement. This move broke the longstanding monopoly of foreign airlines on the UK-Nigeria route, leading to more competitive airfares for Nigerian travelers and enhancing the nation’s aviation footprint. In a bold step towards financial sustainability, Keyamo obtained Federal Executive Council (FEC) approval to require all VIPs to pay access fees at airport toll gates nationwide. This decision, ending decades of tradition, is a testament to his willingness to challenge the status quo in pursuit of progress. Another monumental achievement under Keyamo’s watch was the United States-Nigeria Open Skies Air Transport Agreement entering into force. This agreement will pave the way for Nigerian airlines, as long as they can show capacity and consistency, to operate more freely on this crucial route, marking a significant leap forward for the industry. Keyamo’s relentless efforts to establish a standard Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility that'll accommodate wide-body-aircraft in Nigeria are nearing fruition. This initiative is poised to be a game-changer, reducing reliance on foreign facilities and cutting costs for airlines—a testament to Keyamo’s forward-thinking approach. Perhaps one of his biggest challenges, the National Carrier project, is being handled with the utmost care and precision. With the supervision of Mr. President, Keyamo is keen on ensuring that this initiative is not just another political gimmick but a sustainable and profitable venture that will stand the test of time. To combat illegal private charters and boost revenue, Keyamo launched a task force dedicated to this purpose. This initiative is already yielding results, with increased revenue generation for the industry and enhanced regulatory compliance. Keyamo’s tenure has also been marked by a firm stand against corruption and misconduct in the aviation sector. His crackdown on touts and corrupt officials at airports has restored a sense of order and discipline in these critical hubs, enhancing the overall experience for travelers. The ongoing upgrades to airport infrastructure across the country are a direct result of Keyamo’s proactive approach. His focus on quality and efficiency is evident in the improved facilities that travelers are beginning to experience, setting a new standard for the industry. As the Honourable Minister celebrates his first year in office, it is clear that his appointment was one of the most astute decisions of President Tinubu’s administration. In just one year, he has laid a solid foundation for what promises to be a transformative tenure. His leadership is not just about fixing immediate problems but about building a legacy of excellence that will endure long after he has left office. This 21-gun salute is not just a tribute to his remarkable achievements but a signal of the great things yet to come. With Festus Keyamo at the helm, Nigeria’s aviation sector is set to soar to new heights, cementing its place on the global stage.
