Dis topic is a very controversial one as there is no clear winner in this type of topic. Everybody dey guilty. This issue is a two way thing. In as much as I don't like people displaced and homes destroyed, there is a price for progress and that is change. Change is always at a cost. To those who can afford it, its good. To those who can't, BAD!

With that on the side, I strongly feel government should be more subtle in their approach. Carts are never before the horses. Provisions shud be made before displacement. Its got a name and I beleived its called consideration. Lagos may seem small in geographical size but it still got lots of space that can be allocated. Allocate spaces that can owned at ridiculously affordable amount so everyone has equal opportunity to own a home.

Government should review their policies in that direction to accomodate the less priviledge. Displacing them and leaving to nothing isn't governmental. Its called oppression. My ever amiable governor, you better than that.

One, to say using cane in foreign land is highly prohibited is not true. White conservatives do use canes as disciplinary measures. Most of us must av read of how oliver twist was flogged just for asking more. Howeva, using cane or beating as a sole discplinary measure is wrong and can prove ineffective in a lot of situations. As adults, we must know when to beat a child for a wrong action and ground the child to become responsible for it too.
In modern society, parents and the community at large indulge their kids in wrong behaviours, either intentionally or not. Most of today's children indecent or immoral behaviour is as a result of the wrong values and attitudes they've either seen or experienced. Cane doesn't solve that, the environment needs to correct that but that is to say where it requires beating too, pls do so the child doesn't get comfortable with certain beliefs. Schools shud improvise for canes. Abroad, there is wot is called detentions in schools for children dat misbehaves. No child wants to be denied and dats the purpose of detentions.

To round dis all up, cane is a way of discplining a child bur were it is over used becomes ineffective. Correcting a child for wrong behaviour, attitude or deamenor shud be evaluated and the appropiate corrective measures shud be taken besides flogging.

Comparing a woman to a car is undoubtly overboard cos it comparing an object without life and void to something that has and is full of life. Howeva, lookin closely at it again, the same attributes cannot be ignored. A car likened to woman cos of the effort needed to enjoy both and ofcourse, one will always demand more than the other. Even two wives cannot be at par.a woman is howeva more demanding cos of the life it possesses. They are more delicate to handle. The emotions that comes to play, the passion that flows and the very life they give makes them more "demanding". So looking at it ideally, they are more expensive to maintain, and can't expended as such like cars. Whether they financially empowered or not, its only realistic to cater for them cos they have life and anything that has life is always more expensive to maintain. Ciao
